Extraction was done by maceration with methanol-water (9:1), followed by methanol-water (1:1) as a solvent. Research on the influence of polysaccharides from the jackfruit rags (Artocarpus Heterophyllus Lamk) on the content of glucose syrups on hydrolyzing with HCl 30% has been done. A sample has got with simple random sampling. The cellulose was isolated from the seeds of rags. The cellulose was hydrolyzed by HCl 30% to produce glucose syrups. The content was analyzed by the Nelson-Somogyi method and calculated by regression analysis. Responden dalam penelitian ini ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Pengetahuan masyarakat Jelmu mengenai tumbuhan yang digunakan untuk pewarna alami batik berasal dari orang tua, pengalaman dan berguru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 12 spesies tumbuhan yang dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan pewarna alami batik terdiri dari 11 famili, jenis tumbuhanya yaitu jengkol (Archidendron pauciflorum (Benth.) I.C.Nielsen.), mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.)
