Cet article se penche sur la construction du barrage Belo Monte sur le fleuve Xingu en Amazonie brésilienne, et sur les intérêts autour de ce projet. Le projet Belo Monte est analysé du point de vue de la continuation des relations coloniales entre l'État-nation brésilien et les peuples autochtones de la région amazonienne. Avec des outils d'interprétation des relations coloniales tels que le consensus des matières premières, le colonialisme interne et le mythe du terra nullius, nous présentons un aperçu des contradictions politiques à l'origine de l'expansion portugaise et brésilienne en Amazonie, et suggérons la persistance d'une structure politique coloniale à la base sur du projet Belo Monte.

RésuméLe leader lakota Sitting Bull a été enterré deux fois, à soixante ans d’intervalle, sur la réserve américaine de Standing Rock. Ses tombes n’invitent pas à écrire une nouvelle histoire de la mémoire d’un grand personnage mais à mettre au jour la production et la reproduction d’un pouvoir colonial certes fragile et contesté, mais aussi profondément inséré dans les interactions symboliques qui ont lieu sur et autour de la réserve. Elle veut relancer de cette manière l’histoire d’un colonialisme américain interne fait de privatisation des terres, d’individualisation des populations, et d’américanisation des esprits. Ce dernier volet a souvent été considéré comme un échec massif face à la résistance des peuples indiens. Le présent article veut nuancer et complexifier cette évaluation.

Abstract. In recent years there has been a debate about how to evaluate Alexis de Tocqueville's defense of colonialism. Some scholars have argued that there is a tension between the key doctrines of Tocqueville's political theory and his enthusiastic promotion of the French conquest and colonization of Algeria. Others have concluded that the apparent contradiction can be explained by paying careful attention to the nuances of his work or the logic of liberalism. This article advances this debate by reconstructing Tocqueville's theory of martial law, a dimension of his work that has been frequently overlooked. In a series of letters, notes and parliamentary reports on Algeria, Tocqueville criticized of the use of martial law in governing French citizens and defended its use against native Algerians. Tocqueville's writings on Algeria make it clear that he treated the rule of law not as a natural right held by all people but rather as a technique of government that was appropriate in communities already united by social ties.Résumé. Récemment, l'interprétation de la défense du colonialisme par Alexis de Tocqueville est devenue l'objet d'un débat important. Certains auteurs discernent une tension entre les principes centraux de la philosophie politique de Tocqueville et sa promotion enthousiaste de la conquête et la colonisation de l'Algérie par la France. D'autres ont conclu que la contradiction apparente s'explique lorsqu'on regarde de près les nuances de ses écrits sur la logique interne du libéralisme. Cet article contribue à ce débat en reconstruisant la théorie de la loi martiale de Tocqueville – une dimension de son oeuvre trop souvent négligée. Dans une série de lettres, notes et rapports parlementaires sur l'Algérie, Tocqueville a critiqué l'usage de la loi martiale dans le gouvernement des citoyens français, mais l'a défendu contre les indigènes. Ses écrits sur l'Algérie démontrent que Tocqueville considérait l'État de droit non comme un droit naturel inhérent à la personne, mais plutôt comme une technique de gouvernement s'appliquant principalement aux communautés déjà unies par des liens sociaux.

Utilizam o “pós-colonialismo” e a “raça” para perpetuar hierarquias, desigualdades e injustiças à escala local, nacional e global. Pelo contrário, Mwadia, que é uma personagem de “fronteira”, desafia simultaneamente o “colonialismo interno” e a “colonialidade do poder” independentemente das limitações raciais.********************************************************************Internal colonialism in Mia Couto’s O outro pé da sereiaAbstract: In this article, I shall argue that Mia Couto’s novel O outro pé da sereia (2006) deals with the effects of the so-called “internal colonialism” (Walter Mignolo). At the beginning of 21th century, in post-colonial Mozambique, businessman Casuarino and other characters of the novel are agents of the transnational and neo-liberal “coloniality of power”. They utilize “post-colonialism” and “race” to perpetuate hierarchies, inequalities and injustices at local, national and global scales. On the contrary, Mwadia, which is a character that feels herself in a “in-between situation”, challenges altogether the “internal colonialism” and the “coloniality of power” regardless of racial boundaries. Анотація:
The thesis of internal colonialism reveals the realities that different populations face, and posits that even populations that are within the core central regions of the capitalist world-system are victims of certain exploitation models more typical of the colonial periphery. This article reviews this thesis about internal colonialism with the aim of freeing it from its rigid structuralism and bringing it closer to other perspectives, such as the post-colonialist and decolonialist views, which could ultimately enhance its usefulness as a theoretical tool. Furthermore, this paper addresses the need for an exploration of the social dimension that accompanies internal colonialism, somewhat neglected by the traditional thesis, in light of a conceptual proposition that emphasizes the genesis and transformation of different colonial identities and highlights internal colonialism as an identityfixing dispositive. Finally, this paper briefly examines the Galician case of internal colonialism to demonstrate the potential offered by this new theoretical approach.

<p>Neste artigo, exploro a genealogia da contribuição crucial que os cientistas sociais latino-americanos fizeram para os estudos de desenvolvimento durante a segunda metade do século XX. Os estruturalistas contestaram a teoria convencional do comércio internacional, que havia sido proposta pelos teóricos do norte. Os teóricos da dependência criticaram as interpretações ortodoxas do subdesenvolvimento, como as propostas pelos teóricos da modernização, também principalmente do Norte. Aponto duas vertentes da teoria da dependência. Uma emergiu do processo de autocrítica de estruturalistas, e a outra teve suas raízes no marxismo crítico. Com o surgimento do neoliberalismo, alguns estruturalistas de dependência desenvolveram o neoestruturalismo, enquanto alguns dependentistas marxistas desenvolveram a teoria do sistema mundial. As idéias de pensadores estruturalistas e de dependência geraram debates acirrados, capazes de desafiar suas teorias ortodoxas, centradas no Norte, e de propor uma teoria alternativa do desenvolvimento do Sul.</p><p>THE LATIN AMERICAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO CRITICAL DEVELOPMENT THEORY </p><p>In this article I explore the genealogy of the crucial contribution which Latin American social scientists made to development studies during the second half of the twentieth century. The structuralists, through their centre-periphery paradigm, disputed the conventional theory of international trade which had been proposed the theorists from the North. In turn, dependency theorists critiqued the orthodox interpretations of underdevelopment, such as those proposed by modernization theorists, also mainly from the North. It is important to distinguish between two strands within dependency theory. One emerged from a process of self-criticism by structuralists and the other had its roots in critical Marxism. With the rise of neoliberalism some dependency structuralists developed neostructuralism while some Marxist dependentistas developed worldsystem theory. The ideas of structuralist and dependency thinkers generated fierce debates. They were able to challenge their orthodox and Northerncentric theories and propose an alternative critical theory of development from the South.</p><p>Keywords: Structuralism. Internal colonialism. Neostructuralisms.</p><p>LES CONTRIBUTIONS DE L’AMÉRIQUE LATINE À LA THÉORIE CRITIQUE DU DÉVELOPPEMENT</p><p>Dans cet article, j’explore la généalogie de la contribution cruciale que les chercheurs en sciences sociales d’Amérique latine ont apportée aux études sur le développement au cours de la seconde moitié du XXe siècle. Les structuralistes ont contesté la théorie conventionnelle du commerce international qui avait été proposée aux théoriciens du Nord. Les théoriciens de la dépendance ont critiqué les interprétations orthodoxes du sous-développement, telles que celles proposées par les théoriciens de la modernisation, aussi principalement du Nord. Il est important de distinguer deux volets dans la théorie de la dépendance. L’un a émergé d’un processus d’autocritique par les structuralistes et l’autre a ses racines dans le marxisme critique. Avec la montée du néolibéralisme, certains structuralistes dépendants ont développé le néostructuralisme tandis que certains dépendantistes marxistes ont développé la théorie du système mondial. Recorre-se a essa perspectiva para lançar nova luz sobre o tema da ideologia da identidade nacional mestiça no Brasil. Conclui-se trazendo linhas contemporâneas da antropologia brasileira que poderiam enriquecer a perspectiva pós-colonial, ao abordar não apenas o conteúdo da ideologia da mestiçagem, mas sua gramática subjacente, baseada na noção de cultura.

An analysis of underdevelopment and poverty in the Papaloapan Basin of southern Mexico shows that, despite the use of different development models in the neoliberal pattern of accumulation, structural conditions still promote a form of internal colonialism that enables the growth of one region at the expense of another. Recent public policies meant to support development in the region seem to be based on the dominant twentieth-century perspectives that Stavenhagen called “erroneous theses about Latin America.” Un análisis del subdesarrollo y la pobreza en la cuenca del Papaloapan, en el sur de México, muestra que, a pesar del uso de distintos modelos de desarrollo dentro del patrón de acumulación neoliberal, las condiciones estructurales todavía promueven una forma de colonialismo interno que permite el crecimiento de una región a expensas de otra. Las políticas públicas receintes para apoyar el desarrollo en la región parecen estar basadas en esas perspectivas dominantes del siglo XX que Stavenhagen describió como “tesis equivocadas sobre América Latina.”

A imagem do \"vazio\" tem persistido em representar os sertões das capitanias do Norte. Trata-se de um vazio de construção histórica e historiográfica. Os estudos e textos de Euclides da Cunha, Capistrano de Abreu e Caio Prado Jr. contemplaram esse estereótipo amplamente divulgado e sedimentado no habitual sertão nordestino, este associado à seca, ao isolamento e à rusticidade do mundo urbano. Fluindo contra essas leituras, a presente tese se esforça em desmistificar os qualificativos de desvalor por desconstruir a ideia de vazio reconstruindo os processos de urbanização e a formação das paisagens dos sertões do Norte na época colonial. Atenta-se para a longa duração com o objetivo de interpretar as políticas da Coroa portuguesa e as atividades do cotidiano materializadas numa hierárquica rede de povoações estruturada por missões, capelas, freguesias, \"lugar de índios\", julgados, vilas e cidade. Põe luz nos atores, na rede de relações e nas hierarquias sociais verificando suas implicações na transformação da paisagem e na urbanização desses sertões. Como aporte teórico-metodológico, entrecruza-se texto (hermenêutica) e imagem (representação) para pensar con los ojos - segundo a poética acepção do historiador de arte argentino Damián Bayón - a fim de preencher as lacunas espaciais que forjaram o suposto \"silêncio\". Vale-se, ainda, da multidisciplinaridade para esclarecer a relação do homem com as zonas interiorizadas, sem esquecer dos programas de georreferenciamento que propiciaram a produção de mapas temáticos exemplares voltados a localizar as povoações no território e interpretar a razão de ser de sua posição geográfica no contexto social e econômico ao qual estavam inseridos.
The image of the \"emptiness\" has persisted in representing the sertões of the captaincies of the North. It is a void of historical and historiographic construction. The studies and texts of Euclides da Cunha, Capistrano de Abreu and Caio Prado Jr. contemplated this stereotype widely disseminated and sedimented in the usual \"sertão nordestino\" associated with the drought, isolation and rusticity of the urban world. Flowing against these readings, the present thesis seek to demystify the qualifiers of devaluation by deconstructing the idea of emptiness reconstructing the processes of urbanization and the formation of the landscapes of the backlands of \"sertões\" (hinterlands) colonial times. Attention is paid to the long duration with the objective of interpreting the policies of the Portuguese Crown and daily activities materialized in a hierarchical network of settlements structured by missions, chapels, parishes, \"lugares de índios\", \"julgados\", towns and cities. It sheds light on the actors, the network of relationships and social hierarchies, verifying their implications for the transformation of the landscape and the urbanization of these sertões. As a theoretical-methodological contribution, text (hermeneutics) and image (representation) are intertwined to \"pensar con los ojos\" (think with the eyes) - according to the poetic meaning of the Argentine art historian Damián Bayón - in order to fill the gaps that forged the supposed \"silence\" . It is also worth mentioning the multidisciplinarity to clarify the relationship between man and the interiorized zones, not forgetting the geo-referencing programs that led to the production of exemplary thematic maps aimed at locating the settlements in the territory and interpreting the rationale of their geographical position in the social and economic context to which they were inserted.

La décennie qui succéda à la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale ne parvint pas à reconstruire, en Bretagne, l’émulation populaire que certains militants “nationalistes’’ auraient pu souhaiter autour de la question de l’identité spécifique bretonne. Pourtant, entre 1954 et le tournant de l’année 1970, une réelle transformation s’opère dans la perception que les Bretons eux-mêmes ont de leur identité. Cette perception est questionnée, redéfinie, elle se structure et induit la conception d’outils dont les usages jalonneront ultérieurement les revendications politiques, sociales et culturelles qui se traduiront par l’important revival culturel et social post 1970. Cette thèse propose d’analyser le regain de ce discours national qui, d’un noyau de bretonnants militants, va se diffuser progressivement à une large partie de la population bretonne, bretonnante ou non. La pertinence de la notion de nation au sujet de la Bretagne a longtemps été soutenue, étayée, argumentée tout autant que décriée, critiquée et combattue dans le contexte d’une République Française une et indivisible. L’objet de ce travail de recherche est de faire le jour sur l’évolution de cette notion, au regard de l’analyse d’un corpus exhaustif qui ne comprend que des œuvres littéraires en langue bretonne, rédigées durant la période choisie, quels que soient le lieu d’écriture et la ou les dates d’éventuelles éditions. Il s’agira donc de définir les critères de ce qui fait d’une littérature un objet régional, national ou international. La thèse propose d’analyser ces écrits sur ce qui apparaît tantôt être un simple attachement au territoire, tantôt être le reflet de démarches politiques plus émancipatrice, apparentées à la vague de décolonisation qui submerge le monde en cette seconde moitié du XXème siècle
The decade following the end of World War II failed to rebuild, in Brittany, the popular emulation that certain “nationalist” militants could have wished for around the question of the specific Breton identity. However, between 1954 and the turn of the year 1970, a real transformation took place in the perception that the Bretons themselves had of their own identity. This perception is questioned, redefined, it is structured and induces the design of tools which uses will later mark out the political, social and cultural demands that will result in the important post-1970 cultural and social revival. This national discourse, from a nucleus of Breton activists, will gradually spread to a large part of the Breton population, Breton speaking people or not. The relevance of the notion of nation to Brittany has long been supported, argued as well as criticized and fought in the context of a “one and indivisible’’ French Republic. The object of this research work is to shed light on the evolution of this notion, with regards to the analysis of an exhaustive corpus which only includes literary works in the Breton language written during the chosen period, whatever the places or the periods of writing and publishing. It will therefore be a question of defining the criteria of what makes literature a regional, national or international subject. This dissertation proposes to analyse these writings on what sometimes appears to be a simple attachment to the territory, sometimes to be the reflection of more emancipatory political approaches, akin to the wave of decolonisation that is overwhelming the world in this second half of the twentieth century

The purpose of this paper is to analyze and question the government survey 1956:43 Zigenarfrågan based on the theory of internal colonialism. An important question for the study is to elucidate and gain an understanding of the factors that led to Roma inclusion in the compulsory school. This survey of the goverment investigation is necessary because the state management of the Roma had to start the investigation, that led to a number of difficulties for the community. The investigation put also a lot of demands on the roma society. The state wanted at all means to influence and change the group's way of life. Roma situation was now more and more conspicuously set to influence the Swedish society as a whole. State expressed concern about an increase in crime among the group, this led to the investigation begin. The essay will mainly concern the school issue in the investigation of Zigenarfrågan. There will also be a comparison made between investigation Zigenarfrågan and another government study conducted in 1957-1960. This study was designed to investigate the Sami school situation and was named Samernas skolgång 1960:410. The study will show how the state, hoping to assimilate the Roma in Swedish society, colonized roma minority by undermining the group's cultural characteristics in favor of the majority culture. The question I am hoping to answer in this study by analysing the governments survey Zigenarfrågan, is: How does the investigation Zigenarfrågan discribe the situation of Roma in Sweden, focusing on the school question? What problems are produced? What reasons are presented? What solutions are proposed? Is it possible to demonstrate a difference in treatment of roma in the comparison between investigations Zigenarfrågan and Samernas skolgång?

Skogsbruket har en lång historia i Sverige och kom under 1900-talet att hamna i en rad konflikter med intressegrupper som förespråkade skogens immateriella värden. Syftet med denna diskursanalys är att redogöra för de maktrelationer som var rådande under 1980-talets skogsbruk i Jokkmokks kommun. Undersökningen ämnar i första hand att lyfta de röster som under 1980- talets skogsbruk i Jokkmokks kommun tystades av de intressegrupper som prioriterade skogens materiella värden. Hur den koloniserade har agerat och reagerat kommer följaktligen att behandlas. Undersökningen påvisar att Jokkmokks kommun blev överexploaterad under 1980-talet vilket kom att skapa maktrelationer mellan skogens intressegrupper. Avverkningarna påverkade både rennäringen och den lokala befolkningen och 1980-talet går således att ses som en fortsatt postkolonial era där en kolonial diskurs är rådande. Undersökningen visar även att det fanns möjlighet att göra motstånd men att de röster som förespråkade skogens immateriella värden försummades.
Forestry has a long history in Sweden and came during the 20th century to end up in a series of conflicts with the interest groups advocating the immaterial values of the forest. The purpose of this discourse analysis is to describe the power relationships that were prevalent during the 1980s forestry in the municipality of Jokkmokk. This study primarily focuses on highlighting the voices during the 1980s forestry in the municipality of Jokkmokk who were silenced by groups that prioritize the material values of the forest. How the colonized have acted and reacted will also be discussed. This study shows that the municipality of Jokkmokk became overly exploited in the 1980s which came to create the power relationships between forest interest groups. Felling affected both reindeer herding and the local population and it is possible to speak of the 1980s as a continued post-colonial era where a colonial discourse is prevalent. The survey also shows that it was possible to resist but that the votes in favor of the forest's immaterial values were easily neglected.

Esta pesquisa objetiva descrever e analisar a experiência da comunidade indígena do povo Paiter-Suruí, situada entre os Estados de Rondônia e Mato Grosso, a qual vivencia um processo de inserção tecnológica. Com base em materiais divulgados na internet sobre as parcerias firmadas pelos suruís, com destaque para a formalizada com a multinacional Google, é realizado um estudo da mudança de posição do índio amazônico, relegado historicamente à subalternidade e que, nesse novo cenário tecnológico, ganha voz e capacidade de interferência em sua própria narrativa, em especial, com a utilização da internet. A partir dos conceitos de “ver” e “olhar”, “capital social” e de um apanhado sobre o imaginário construído acerca do indígena, pretende-se subsidiar uma breve análise fenomenológica apoiada pela realização de pesquisa de campo, que busca responder como os suruís enxergam subjetivamente os fenômenos objetivos que vivenciam. Além disso, outras discussões periféricas serão levantadas no decorrer do trabalho, como o pós-colonialismo, o diálogo entre tradição e modernidade e a hibridização das culturas.
This work aims to describe and analyze the experience of the indigenous community Paiter-Suruí, located between the states of Rondonia and Mato Grosso, which experiences a process of technological integration. From materials posted on the internet about the Suruí´s partnerships, specially the partnership formalized with Google, is done a study of the position change of the Amazonian Indians, historically relegated to a subordinated position, who, in this new technological scenario, gains voice and ability to interfere in their own narrative, in particular using the internet. The concepts of "to see" and "to look", "social capital" and an overview on the imaginary built about the Indians, intends to subsidize a brief phenomenological analysis supported by a field research, which aims to understand how the Suruís see subjectively the objective phenomena they experience. In addition, other discussions will be raised during the work, such as post-colonialism, the dialogue between tradition and modernity and hybridization of cultures.

The student thesis Nationalism and Norrientalism: A Discourse Analysis of the Norrlandic Independence Debate of Late Summer 2016 and Beyond aims to examine the style and content of the recent secession debate in the Swedish and Norrlandic printed press. From the late summer of 2016 to the beginning of 2017 the question of Norrlandic sovereignty was a prioritized topic in the legacy media debate, as well as in social media. It commenced after the Swedish government enterprise Vattenfall planned to relocate forty employment opportunities from Jokkmokk, raising the question of Norrlandic independence based on a post-colonialist view of the region. This thesis examines how the framing of Northern Sweden as a colony has been established, re-established or refuted in the different discourses of the printed debate, through a faceted lens composed of various theories of Orientalism and nationalism. Rooted in the discourse theory of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe, merged with the critical discourse analysis of Norman Fairclough, and leaning against media theories of inoculation and framing, the study takes aim at the myths, metaphors, articulations and antagonisms which constituted the polemics in the printed press of the period. The results conclude that the debate revolved around independence, resources, and the myth regarding Norrland—often described as a barren landscape, marked by vast distances and a lack of social services. The term colony was used to describe Norrland as marginalised and robbed of its natural resources, whereas the term was met by opposition from the objecting side, who emphasised the historic and present representation of Norrlanders in high politics. The colonial identity was constituted in the press through internal Orientalism by Stockholm writers and self-Orientalisation by Norrlandic ones. The most distinct patterns of difference between the objecting side and the advocating side of independence was the determination of the real economic loser of a Norrlandic secession from Sweden.

Beyond Borders: Indians, Australians and the Indonesian Revolution, 1939 to 1950 rediscovers an intense internationalism — and charts its loss — in the Indonesian Revolution. Momentous far beyond Indonesia itself, and not just for elites, generals, or diplomats, the Indonesian anti-colonial struggle from 1945 to 1949 also became a powerful symbol of hope at the most grassroots levels in India and Australia. As the news flashed across crumbling colonial borders by cable, radio, and photograph, ordinary men and women became caught up in in the struggle. Whether seamen, soldiers, journalists, activists, and merchants, Indonesian independence inspired all of them to challenge colonialism and racism. And the outcomes were made into myths in each country through films, memoirs, and civic commemorations. But as heroes were remembered, or invented, this 1940s internationalism was buried behind the hardening borders of new nations and hostile Cold War blocs, only to reemerge as the basis for the globalisation of later years.

19th century British historians, while glorifying ancient Indian architecture, legitimized Imperialism by portraying a decline. To deny vitality of native architecture, it was essential to marginalize the prevailing masons and craftsmen – a strain that later enabled portrayal of architects as cognoscenti in the modern world. Now, following economic liberalization, rural India is witnessing a new hasty urbanization, compliant of Globalization. However, agrarian protests and tribal insurgencies evidence the resistance, evocative of that dislocation in the 19th century; the colonial legacy giving way to concerns of internal neo-colonialism.

La reproducción fotográfica de los objetos incluidos en los museos y las colecciones de arte es una práctica habitual que ha venido siendo utilizada desde el nacimiento de la fotografía en 1839. Igualmente, y de manera similar, en el siglo XIX se popularizó el uso de la fotografía para registrar los viajes de los exploradores decimonónicos, con la intención de mostrar aquellos lugares inaccesibles a la mayoría de la sociedad del momento. Desde el nacimiento de la fotografía, ésta ha sido considerada como una herramienta ideal para clasificar la realidad y establecer testimonios de las experiencias vividas. Aquel impulso decimonónico de localizar, registrar y controlar el patrimonio sigue presente en nuestra sociedad. Los museos están digitalizando sus colecciones compulsivamente con la intención de hacerlas más accesibles a la sociedad. Desde 2008, la mayoría de museos y archivos han gastado y están gastando grandes cantidades de dinero y tiempo en digitalizar sus colecciones. Grandes proyectos como Google Art Project o Europeana pretenden acercar la cultura a la sociedad eliminando determinadas barreras físicas a través de internet. Sin embargo, estas iniciativas están lejos de demostrar que sirvan por sí mismas de incentivo real para aumentar el interés de la sociedad por este patrimonio. Probablemente, la causa de este impulso registrativo sea la necesidad común de generar un imaginario visual colectivo que nos sirva para entender nuestra cultura. Esa ambición de transmitir el conocimiento y acercar estos lugares y objetos a la sociedad, ha logrado que se produzca una gran cantidad de imágenes que hoy en día están conservadas en museos y archivos de todo el mundo. Pero aquellos lugares lejanos que fueron registrados por las cámaras de los calotipistas durante el siglo XIX aparecieron representados en las fotografías mediante escenas idealizadas. Probablemente, los viajeros románticos mostraron aquellos lugares bajo su ideal colonialista. Del mismo modo, la reproducción insaciable de determinadas obras de arte y monumentos en postales o libros, no han hecho más que incidir en la creación de esos iconos idealizados. Tratados como símbolos, se han consagrado en los idearios de la sociedad. Actualmente, utilizamos Internet para acceder a las colecciones de los museos y trasladarnos mentalmente a aquellos lugares idealizados, así como para compartir en las redes sociales las fotografías de nuestras experiencias vividas, tanto de los viajes como de las visitas a museos. No obstante, la gran diferencia que existe entre el siglo XIX y la actualidad estriba en que en el presente estamos sobre saturados de imágenes. Esa misma capacidad reproductiva de la fotografía ha logrado que nos saturemos perdiendo así esa capacidad de idealización.

‘Decolonising Education – Fostering Conversations’ is a project funded by RECAP involving Coventry University (CU) and Deakin University. While originated as a comparative study focussing on exploring respective decolonisation practices and discourses from staff and student perspectives, the pandemic forced a shift where Coventry focused data collection and developments were complemented, informed and supported by literatures, histories, institutional perspectives, and methodologies emerging from Indigenous Australians’ struggle against colonialism. Our aims are (1) map what is happening in our institution in terms of decolonisation, and (2) to explore accessible and inclusive ways of broadening the conversation about this important topic.
