This thesis is about the role of The Facilitates Chromatin Transcription (FACT) complex as a potential target for Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer (NEPC). I studied FACT complex in different models representing the main stages of prostate cancer progression and found that FACT complex expression correlated to the lethal NEPC phenotype. The FACT-inhibiting drug, CBL1037, was more effective at reducing cell viability as compared to the standard-of-care chemotherapy drugs, cisplatin and carboplatin. In this study, the photocatalytic mineralization of the industrial dump-site leachate was evaluated using an internally-irradiated 18-Litre pilot-scale aerated annular bubble column photoreactor.
