The article presents the history of the Laboratory of breeding and selection of animals of the Institute of Animal Biology NAAS, its personnel and scientific achievements. Currently there are seven scientists, including four Doctors of Sciences, two Candidates of Sciences and one junior researcher without a scientific degree work in the laboratory. The team has made radical changes not only in staff capacity but also in research. Scientists have developed and introduced into production methods of optimizing selection and formation of high-value genotypes in dairy cattle, improved methods of targeted breeding of young animals, increasing meat and dairy productivity of animals, assessment of breeding traits of cattle for selection by reproductive and fattening qualities, the efficiency of use in selection process of foreign gene pool. They developed theoretical and practical issues about the genesis of the Ukrainian Black-and-White dairy breed and its western intra-breed type, developed recommendations for the formation of highly productive dairy herds with long economic use, a system for monitoring the genetic variability of dairy breeds cattle, proposed the development of the selection of animals on a set of grounds, discovered the influence of various genetic and paratypic factors on the formation of milk productivity and duration of economic use of cows, etc.

Modern pork production technology requires more piglets from sows to ensure the industry's profitability. The physiological reserve of sows' milk production at multiplicity above 14-18 piglets is often insufficient, which requires a constant search for ways to solve the problem of “hyperfertile sows”. The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using milk replacers from different manufacturers in sow nests under conditions of multiple farrowings on the productivity and behaviour of suckling piglets and sow conditions. The experiment was conducted in 2023, with 36 sow nests in the farrowing shop and 513 suckling piglets. Nests with a litter of 13 or more were selected and three groups were formed. In the control group, piglets were raised without additional feeding with milk replacers. The group II piglets were fed with Alternative Milk Junior as a source of additional nutrition from 10 days of age until weaning. Piglets of group III received a Commercial Analogue of milk replacer. Group II was characterised by a higher survival rate – of 93.03% and, a higher live weight – of 7.84 kg, which led to higher values of average daily weight gain – 222.47 g. The nests of the II and III experimental groups (consuming milk replacer) were more aligned, which significantly outperformed the analogues of the control groups by 31.2% and 14.7%. Piglets of group II were in a calmer state and therefore spent the most time on rest – 60%, in contrast to animals of the control group – 50% and group II – 58%. Additional nutrition of piglets in the nests of “hyperfertile sows” reduces the load on sows during lactation allows to obtain animals in factory condition and reduces the number of unprofitable days. The practical significance of the experiment is to determine an effective milk replacer as a source of supplementary nutrition for suckling piglets in the nests of “hyperfertile” sows

Abstract Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) have become important topics for discussion in Animal Science Departments across the nation. The need for DEI-awareness programming has increased as student populations become more diverse. Therefore, the objective of this work was to understand how included students felt in the Department of Animal Science. A survey instrument using Qualtrics was developed and distributed to 1,047 undergraduate and graduate students. A total of 436 participants completed at least a portion of the survey (response rate = 41.6%). Information will be presented descriptively. Approximately 56%, 29%, and 15% of participants came from rural, suburban, and urban areas, respectively. Additionally, 36% reported having no previous livestock experience. Participants were asked to rank their perceived level of inclusion in different facets of the department when starting in the major. Approximately 11%, 14%, and 13% felt that they were not included in class, with peers, and with faculty, respectively, when starting their degree program. Conversely, 24%, 22% and 26% felt very included in class, with peers, and with faculty, respectively, upon entering the major. Juniors, seniors, and graduates were asked to rank their level of inclusion in the same three areas after being in the department for at least two years. Only 2%, 10%, and 5% of these students reported feeling not included in class, with peers, and with faculty, respectively. Roughly 39%, 34%, and 39% of experienced students felt very included in class, with peers, and with faculty, respectively. Although inclusion feelings improved in mature students, there is still concern some students still do not feel that they belonged. Further analysis is needed to identify student attributes that do not feel included throughout the degree program and to identify tools that could help improve inclusion.

Abstract Ruminants serve a valuable role in sustainable agricultural systems, specifically in the conversion of renewable resources from grasslands, pasture, and other by-products into edible human food. Recognizing forage and grasses are grown on 25% of arable land, suitable agronomic practices for grazing livestock are necessary to minimize water and soil erosion. Demographics of Animal Science students have changed over the last several years with more students from urban backgrounds and with interests other than traditional animal agriculture. This makes continued emphasis on education programs supporting the grazing livestock industry that much more important. However, for many reasons, universities place less emphasis on training Ph.D. students in forage agronomy. Based on an email survey of 10 land grant institutions, typically one M.S. student/yr and one Ph.D. student/3–4 yr graduates with an advanced degree in forage agronomy. Most departments have experienced dramatic budget reductions. Challenges with funding faculty positions outside of a department’s emphasis area typically results in the question “Should forage agronomy students be trained in Departments of Animal Science or Crop/Soils Science?” It could be argued that either department is the best fit. Forage agronomy requires training in the basics of plant and soil science, but the application of those sciences relate more to animal science and animal production than to traditional crop production such as cereal grains. Departments of Animal Science must communicate the meaningful context of forage agronomy in an active learning environment developing students’ ability to critically think and solve problems. Those providing technical expertise to livestock producers can no longer make recommendations based solely on production efficiency and profitability. Instead, best management practices must include the impact of grazing livestock on the environment. Cooperative agreements between departments should be discussed to adequately support student development in this critical subject matter.

Background: Farm related and animal inflicted injuries are common in Nepal.Objective: To assess the pattern of farm related and wild animal inflicted injury in patients presenting to B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Method: This prospective observational study of farm related and wild animals inflicted injuries related to Orthopaedics, conducted from May 2005 to April 2007 at Department of Orthopaedics of B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences Dharan, Nepal, consisting of 87 patients admitted to the Orthopaedic ward of BPKIHS, is presented. The preformed structured proforma were used to record the data and, later those records were analyzed.Result: Altogether 78 domestic related injuries and 9 wild animal related injuries were recorded in the recruitment a period of one year. Twenty-three femoral fractures, 14 humeral fractures, 11 cervical spine injuries, 10 leg bone fractures, 9 forearm fractures were found. Fall from buffalo, hit by buffalo were common cause of injuries in domestic related injuries whereas hit / kick by elephant, attack by bear were causes of wild animal related injuries. All adolescents and adults, irrespective of age or sex, should be the target groups for community education and intervention programs for prevention of such injuries.Conclusion: Femoral fractures were the most common bone injury among farm related and animal inflicted injury.Health Renaissance 2015;13(2): 66-71

This study examined the attitudes of employees of the United States Department of Agriculture's Animal Damage Control (ADC) Program. This research examined ADC employees' attitudes about wildlife, the ADC program and ADC employment, wildlife damage management methods, euthanasia and the killing process, and the role of various public and private groups on ADC policy. This study also applied the theory of organizational capture to the ADC program to test its utility in explaining the attitudes and behaviors of employees. Results were based on a survey of ADC employees conducted in January 1995. Survey responses were analyzed to explore associations between employee attitudes and job type or time of service at ADC. Job type was found to be a better indicator of employee attitudes than time of service. Field and management employees tended to have more positive views of ADC and ADC employment compared with research employees. Respondents with different job types perceived different levels of effectiveness and humaneness for wildlife control methods. In general, field employees viewed lethal techniques as more effective and humane than research employees. Similarly, research employees reported nonlethal techniques to be more effective and humane than field employees. Finally, research employees felt that outside interest groups should have more influence on ADC practices than field and management employees felt they should. ADC employees were found to have some characteristics indicative of organizational capture. They had a homogeneous client base, and were resistant to reaching out to nontraditional clients in the face of opposition from traditional clients. However, they were not deflected from the ADC mission. Because respondents indicated conformity to the ADC mission, ADC was found to be at most variably captured by its traditional farming and ranching clientele.

The llama, a potential socioeconomic resource in the Bolivian highlands, faces serious nutritional deficiencies during the gestational and postpartum stages that negatively affect production. This study was conducted at the Tika Huta Experimental Center in the Llachu community of the Oruro prefecture. Our objectives were to determine metabolite concentration in blood plasma as well as live weight performance of pregnant and postpartum female llamas. Adult and juvenile llamas were fed diets of either plain natural grass or natural grass combined with 0.4 kg of barley hay. In addition, we determined metabolite concentrations in blood plasma and live weight performance of newborns until three months of age. Ten newborn llamas and nine pregnant adult llamas were used. We collected 133 blood plasma samples from mothers and 57 blood plasma samples from newborns. The samples were sent to laboratories at Brigham Young University for analysis. Results showed the following metabolite concentrations in pregnant llamas: 7.23 ± 1.80 g/dl total proteins, 36.31 ± 1.32 mg/dl urea, 84.72 ± 3.58 mg/dl triglycerides, 55.89 ± 2.32 mg/dl cholesterol, and 7.11 ± 1.34 mg/dl creatinine. In newborn llamas, blood plasma metabolite concentrations were as follows: 7.20 ± 1.54 g/dl total proteins, 48.41 ± 1.30 mg/dl urea, 103.25 ± 2.60 mg/dl triglycerides, 89.09 ± 3.30 mg/dl cholesterol, and 2.39 ± 0.33 mg/dl creatinine. The average live weights were 76.82 ± 8.57 kg and 15.95 ± 2.47 kg for mothers and newborns, respectively. Animals fed diets of natural grass and barley hay yielded results with significant differences. It is recommended that llama diets be supplemented with barley hay during the first two months of gestation, the last third of gestation, and postpartum.

This study was carried out in the Azafranal community of the Desaguadero municipality, which is in the Ingavi Province of the Department of La Paz. It was conducted at an altitude of 3350 meters above sea level at 16°20’00” south latitude and 69°00’00” west longitude. The study went from December 20, 2003 to June 20, 2004. Our objective was to evaluate hair production in angora rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) fed with three different rations of reed. The experimental trial was done at the Angorita farm over a 135 day period that was divided into three smaller periods of 45 days. The experiment was done via a completely randomized block design. The means from each treatment (A, B, C, and D) were analyzed by a Duncan test with a level of 95% confidence. The population consisted of 16 male and 16 female English angora rabbits between 90 and 98 days of age. These were divided into four groups of eight individuals. Each group was then subjected to one of four treatments: 1) ration A with 40% reed content, 2) ration B with 30% reed content, 3) ration C with 20% reed content, and 4) ration D as a control with 0% reed content. The variables measured and studied were: hair weight (g), hair diameter (µ), hair length (cm), and length of a lock of hair (cm). The results reflect a positive effect on hair diameter with rations C and A, which had average diameters of 9.48 µ and 9.64 µ respectively. Furthermore, with respect to hair length, ration A had an average of 4.87 cm and ration C had an average of 4.68 cm. Lastly, with respect to length of a lock of hair, ration A had an average of 4.74 cm and ration B had an average of 4.52 cm (P<0.05). Hair weight did not turn out to be significant, coming in with an average of 61.03 g (P>0.05).

This research was completed in Letanías, Viacha, La Paz, Bolivia, to determine the metabolic profile in blood plasma (total protein, glucose, urea, albumin, total lipids, creatinine, triglycerides, and cholesterol concentrations), live weight gain, and Nitrogen balance in adult llamas fed with 4 rations of barley and quinoa residue. Eight adult (4-5 year old) Q’ara type llamas were used in this study. Study llamas were trained to stay in metabolic cages with feces collection harnesses. Llamas were given one of the following feed rations: ration A (20% quinoa residue, 80% barley), ration B (40% quinoa residue, 60% barley), ration C (60% quinoa residue, 40% barley), and ration D (80% quinoa residue 20% barley). The results were protein concentration 7.44±0.39 g/dl; albumin 4.66±0.80 mg/dl; urea 13.87±3.70 mg/dl; creatinine 1.65±0.19 mg/dl; glucose 127.67±50.32 mg/dl; total lipids 318.2±144.14 mg/dl; triglycerides 39.35±13.49 mg/dl; cholesterol 53.85±13.53 mg/dl. Live weight gain was -0.0094±1.44 kg. Nitrogen balance was 0.610±0.0868 g/kg. According to the results of this research, metabolites in blood plasma are higher when compared to other research. Gain in body weight was negative in rations A and D and positive in rations B and C. This is attributed to a better equilibrium among energy levels and protein in these last rations. The nitrogen balance was positive for all four rations due to an adequate source of protein in the feed.

This study was conducted in the Rural Academic Unit of Tiahuanaco, in the Ingavi province, in the department of La Paz. Three juvenile vicunas and three adult vicunas were used. Our objective was to observe the development of vicunas (Vicugna vicugna) fed with three types of hay (Bromus catharicus Phalaris tuberoisum and Medicago sativa) in stables. We obtained the following results: rectal temperature of 38.2ºC in juveniles and 38.6ºC in adults; heart rate of 68 beats/min in juveniles and 67 beats/min in adults; respiratory rate of 18 breaths/min in juveniles and 17 breaths/min in adults; femoral vein pulse of 70 pulses/min in juveniles and 64 pulses/min in adults; compartment movement of 7 movements/min 7 times in juveniles and 7 movements/min 7 times in adults. Measurements for apparent digestibility were: (MS) 78.8% in juveniles and 80.4% in adults; (MO) 74.2% in juveniles and 76.4% in adults; (PB) 85.2% in juveniles and 83.7% in adults; (EE) 83.2% in juveniles and 76.2% in adults; (FDN) 75.6% in juveniles and 73.8% in adults; (ELN) 81.2% in juveniles and 78.3% in adults; (NDT) 80.4% in juveniles and 77.7% in adults; (ED/Kcal) 353.8 grams in juveniles and 341.8 grams in adults. For metabolites en vicuna serum we obtained: total protein of 6.7 g/dl in juveniles and 7.7 g/dl in adults; albumin of 5.3 g/dl in juveniles and 5.7 g/dl in adults; creatinine of 1.3 mg/dl in juveniles and 1.5 mg/dl in adults; urea of 40.7 mg/dl in juveniles and 39.2 mg/dl in adults; glucose of 131.8 mg/dl in juveniles and 130.7 mg/dl in adults; cholesterol of 29 mg/dl in juveniles and 27.4 mg/dl in adults; triglycerides of 44.2 mg/dl in juveniles; GPT of 5.5 UI/I in juveniles and 5.1 UI/I in adults; GOT of 5.4 UI/I in juveniles and 5.1 UI/I in adults; calcium of 8.5 mg/dl in juveniles and 8.3 mg/dl in adults; phosphorus of 2.4 mg/dl in juveniles and 2.3 mg/dl in adults; magnesium of 19 mEq/L. Lastly, we observed a weight gain of 2.6 g/day in juveniles and 1.8 g/day in adults.

This investigation was performed in the Altiplano Altoandino sub-humid region in the Ulla Ulla district, Pelechuco township, Franz Tomayo province, department of La Paz, Bolivia. The objective of this study was to quantify and compare the presence of Brucellosis in male and female alpacas (Lama pacos) at ages 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 years. Blood samples were taken from the jugular vein of 500 alpacas from the Hichucollo, Huacuchani, Ucha Ucha, and Ulla Ulla communities. The serum from each sample was separated and a serological diagnosis was performed by rapid agglutination with Rose Bengal chemical stain. In the Ulla Ulla district, 11.0% of alpacas were suspected of being infected. Of that 11.0%, 9.6% represented female alpacas while the remaining 1.4% represented male alpacas. By community, the overall results were 0.6%, 0.2%, 7.4%, and 2.8% for Hichucollo, Huacuchani, Ucha Ucha, and Ulla Ulla respectively. With regards to gender in each community, 1.4%, 1.6%, 13.3%, and 11.1% of female alpacas and 2.7%, 0.0%, 1.2%, and 1.9 % of male alpacas were suspected of being infected in Hichucollo, Huacuchani, Ucha Ucha, and Ulla Ulla, respectively. According to age, 0.8%, 2.6%, 3.8%, 2.0%, 11.8%, and 0.0% were suspected of Brucellosis in alpacas 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 years old, respectively in the Ulla Ulla district. The analysis of variance among the results does not present significant differences (p ≥ 0.05), failing to reject the given hypothesis. The final prevalence point found in the Ulla Ulla district was 11.0%. It was concluded that the prevalence of suspected cases of Brucellosis in alpacas is a consequence of the antigenic characteristics of each biotype. Furthermore, the results affirm that the poor management of livestock and livestock health lead to significant problems with alpaca health. It is therefore necessary to implement control strategies as well as disease monitoring in communities by following a detailed program of diagnostic tests for Brucellosis. Also, non-infected flocks must be protected against infection.

When Department of Defense (DoD) personnel receive orders to relocate to a new duty installation, nearly one third abandon their companion animals, which negatively affects the local shelters' costs, personnel, and capabilities to provide quality care for shelter animals. There is a lack of research on relevant policies among local government policy makers, installation commanders, directors of animal shelters, and animal rights advocates about the abandonment of companion animals by DoD personnel. The purpose of this qualitative descriptive case study was to investigate the relationship between the influx of abandoned DoD companion animals and the management and logistical (including financial) operations of 2 publicly funded animal shelters near a Midwest DoD installation. The theoretical framework was Merton's theory of unintended consequences. Data were collected through interviews with 2 shelter directors, 10 surveys completed by shelter personnel, and a review of the shelters' logistical and financial documents spanning fiscal years 2013 - 2014. Data were analyzed after coding for themes and patterns. According to study findings, the abandonment of companion animals by DoD personnel has a negative impact on the shelters' finances, shelter personnel workload and stress, and the quality of life for incoming animals as well as those already in the shelters. The implications for positive social change are to inform policy makers of the importance of implementing policies to keep DoD companion animals with families, thereby easing transitions for those at risk, which helps to maintain the financial solvency of animal shelters, reduce stress for shelter personnel, and help companion animals to adjust as they are adopted into new homes.

Llamas have provided, and continue to provide, fiber, meat, skins, fertilizer and transport for the Andean people. In addition, they are part of the traditional and religious culture of the Aymara and the Quechua. Both are currently unaware of the productive qualities of llamas, especially those related to meat production, which is the principle product responsible for generating greater income for farmers. For this reason, 554 llamas were evaluated from a total of 3,693 in 2005. The llamas came from T’olar and Pajonal grasslands in the Santiago de Machaca region of La Paz, Bolivia and represented males and females from four age categories (newborn, 1-2 years, juvenile, and adult). They were evaluated with the objective of determining the zoometric measurements of llamas fed on T’olar and Pajonal grasses. Evaluations were categorized according to gender and age group, while also applying descriptive statistics of zoometric measurements of llama anatomy including the head, neck, thorax, and abdomen regions, as well as height, weight, and fur thickness. The Pv measurement for T’olar fed llamas (64.4 kg) was higher than that of the Pajonal fed llamas (59.9 kg). With respect to gender, females (67.1 kg) were larger than males (53.0 kg). Adults were the largest age group (89.7 kg), followed by juveniles (85.9 kg), 1-2 years (58.7 kg) and newborns (34.1 kg). The T’olar llamas achieved better results than the Pajonal llamas. Furthermore, females were superior to males, most likely due to the large number of females as compared to males in the llamas. Zoometric measurements increased with age, generally reaching a statistically significant margin (P<0.01) between age groups. Growth was greatest between the newborn and juvenile groups but it ultimately slowed down afterwards.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of three different diluents used during the cryopreservation process on the motility and vitality of sperm cells. The three diluters used in this study were: A) trice-serum-egg yolk-glycerin, B) serum-egg yolk-glycerin, and C) Dulbecco’s serum-egg-yolk- glycerin. Diluters were tested in proportions of 64-15-15-6% (N1), 54-20-20-6% (N2), and 44-35-15-6% (N3). Llama semen was collected at the Mejoramiento Genético y Diagnóstico Clínico Del Servicio Agropecuario (SEDAG) in the Los Andes Province of the Department of La Paz. The procedure took place at the Unidad Académica Campesina de Tiahuanaco by a direct optimized bulbourethral collection method with an artificial vagina.

The Vespidae family (order Hymenoptera) is comprised of 4500 species of wasps in 268 genera and 7 subfamilies. These wasps prey upon a wide range of insects, including Lepidopteran caterpillars. Because of their low prey specificity, the use of Vespid wasps in biological control programs is limited. However, in their natural habitat, they play a role in controlling populations of some pest species. This study was conducted in six different communities in the department of La Paz within the municipalities of Coroico and Coripata. Three ecological niches were selected in each community: 1) the forest, 2) the edge of the forest and 3) a crop producing area. In each study unit, three Malaise traps were set up on a 14 day collection cycle from June to December 2007. Over the six month study period, we collected a total of 772 individuals and identified 36 different morphospecies from the six communities. The most abundant genera collected were Protopolybia sp., Mischocyttarus sp., and an unidentified genus (morphospecies #2) which had the greatest abundance of individuals in all of the different ecological niches. The niche factor did not have a significant influence on species diversity in the three ecological niches studied. Generally, this group of wasps is found in all three ecological niches.

For the last three summers Lehigh University has sponsored a Research Experience for Undergraduates with support from the National Science Foundation, Department of Defense and Pennsylvania Infrastructure and Technology Alliance. Each year 10–12 rising sophomores were recruited from throughout the US to work with 4–5 graduate students and 2 professors from biological sciences and mechanical engineering. The project’s goal is to create a chemical sensing, mobile robot using a carbon based electronic nose developed by the California Institute of Technology for NASA and principles obtained from observations of the common housefly. To date the project has: developed protocols to train houseflies to approach or avoid a novel chemical stimulus; determined the electronic signature for a pure chemical using principal component analysis; and designed and built chambers for testing the enose and flies. Lab work and lectures are complimented by seminars from professionals in biology, engineering and robotics to expose the students to scientists from research and industry. Assessed by informal interview before and after the project indicated that the students learned basic principles in biology and engineering, and were more likely to enter these fields as a result of their participation in the project.

The teachers from the Biology Department of the University of Lille have been developing for the last two years, a digitalization program of naturalist collections. This project aims to preserve this scientific heritage and to use it for animal and plant biology teaching. Specimens are digitalized by a photo 3D capture system, that produces a 360° and/or hemispheric images of the objects starting from high-resolution pictures. Based on the use of this particular imaging technology, teachers realized multimedia eBooks and a series of files “at the glance“ for practical works in animal biology for Bachelor students in Life Sciences. These supports, enriched by graphic complements, texts, legends and interactive animations, are available on the pedagogic platform Moodle. These digital tools are viewable on computers and can be handled on smartphones and tablets for a nomad utilisation. Students generally consider these supports useful for learning and they consult these resources before, during and after the practical sessions. This distance-learning approach gives the students a complete autonomy for practical session preparation and reviews. The innovative tools here presented constitute a useful learning complement to classical academic lectures in animal biology.

Анотація:
The present study was aimed to evaluate the effect of carob alcoholic extract which is infected with Pencillium and three other species belonging to the species Aspergillus, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, and Aspergillus terrus due to poor storage, in order to investigate the effect of this extract on the testes tissue of Swiss rats Rattus ratus. The current study was conducted in the animal house belonging to the Department of Life Sciences /College of Education for Girls/ University of Kufa, this study began in March until June 2017 Laboratory animals were divided into three main groups. The first group was treated with low concentration 100 mg / kg. The second group was treated with a high concentration 300 mg / kg of the alcoholic extract. The third group was a control group injected with normal saline 0.9 % NaCl2 tissue samples were taken from the three groups for the purpose of conducting tissue tests after one month of intra peritoneal injection. The results showed that the low concentration 100mg / kg had a somatic effect on the testicular tissue, some changes were observed in the tissue including the dissociation of the epithelial tissue ,expansion of blood vessels and accumulation of red blood cells inside it also there were Edema in the interstitial tissues and expansion in the diameter of the Seminal tubules and it was also observed that there was congestion in the Seminal tubules , decrease in the number of sperm within the cavity. High concentrations of alcoholic extract (300mg / kg showed that the changes on the tissues were higher than what observed for the lowest concentration, the most prominent of these changes is the breakdown of the Seminal tubules and Interstitial tissue There were also a marked decrease in sperm count in addition to an expansion in the diameter of the Seminal tubules, separation in the lining of the Seminal tubules, as the histological sections showed a large expansion in the diameter of blood vessels and aggregation of large numbers of red blood cells inside them

The study was conducted in the fish laboratory of the Department of Animal Production in the College of Agriculture and Forestry / the University of Mosul. The experiment included feeding common carp fish using ten experimental diets containing Azolla plant extract at percentages (0.5%, 1%, 1.5%) of each solvent, ether, acetone, and ethanol, and the control was free of additives. Glass tanks were used in the growth experiment of carp fish for a period of 49 days. The results of the statistical analysis showed that the average hemoglobin concentration and the percentage of the volume of compacted blood cells were significantly (P≤ 0.05) higher in the two treatments of fish with fatty extract (petroleum ether 0.5% and acetone 0.5%) than the control treatment and the treatment of fish with fatty extract Acetone for the two concentrations (1 and 1.5) %, noting the arithmetic differences between the other treatments. Best results were found for adding the fatty extract with different solvents to fish diets on total protein, albumin, and globulin in the acetone treatment (05%) and also significantly (P≤ 0.05) the total protein in the ethanol treatment (1.5%) and the albumin increased in the ether treatment. Petroleum (0.5%), acetone 1%, and ethanol (0.5% and 1.5%). A significant decrease was observed in the average concentration of glucose, cholesterol, and triglycerides in the blood serum of fish treated with fatty extract and according to solvents (ethanol 0.5% and 1%) for the average concentration of glucose, and acetone (0.5% and 1.5%) for the average of cholesterol and triglycerides, respectively. A significant decrease was observed in the average concentration of the aspartate transporter enzyme and the amino acid Lanin transferase enzyme in the serum of fish treated with the fatty extract (petroleum ether 0.5% and acetone 1%), respectively.
