Abstract:With the advances in the World Wide Web and Geographic Information System, geospatial services have progressively developed to provide geospatial data and processing functions online. In order to efficiently discover and manage the large amount of geospatial services, these services are registered with semantic descriptions and categorized into classes according to certain taxonomies. Most taxonomies for geospatial services are only provided in the human readable format. The lack of semantic description for taxonomies limits the semantic-based discovery of geospatial services. The objectives of this paper are proposing an approach to semantically describe the taxonomy of geospatial services and using the semantic descriptions for taxonomy to improve the discovery of geospatial services. A semantic description framework is introduced for geospatial service taxonomy to describe not only the hierarchical structure of classes but also the definitions for all classes. The semantic description of taxonomy base on this framework is further used to simplify the semantic description and registration of geospatial services and enhance the semantic-based service matching method.

This paper introduces SDWS (Semantic Description of Web Services), a Web tool which generates semantic descriptions from collections of Web services. The fundamental approach of SDWS consists of the integration of a set of ontological models for the representation of different Web service description languages and models. The main contributions of this proposal are (i) a general ontological model for the representation of Web services, (ii) a set of language-specific ontological models for the representation of different Web service descriptions implementations, and (iii) a set of software modules that automatically parse Web service descriptions and produce their respective ontological representation. The design of the generic service model incorporates the common elements that all service descriptions share: a service name, a set of operations, and input and output parameters; together with other important elements that semantic models define: preconditions and effects. Experimental results show that the automatic generation of semantic descriptions from public Web services is feasible and represents an important step towards the integration of a general semantic service registry.

E-learning systems use web service technology to develop distributed applications. Therefore, with the tremendous growth in the number of web services, finding the proper services while ensuring the independence and reusability of the learning objects in a different context has become an important issue and has attracted much interest. This article first proposes an extension of the Ontology Web Language for Services Learning Object (OWLS-LO) model to describe a multi-intentional learning object. This description ensures accessibility to learning objects. This research then presents a service discovery mechanism that uses the new semantic model for service matching. Experimental results show that the proposed semantic discovery mechanism using multi-intention model performs better than discovery mechanism based on single intention.

With the rapid development of web services technology, the security policies defined in WS-SecurityPolicy are widely used for expressing security properties, capabilities, constraints and requirements of web services. It is well-known that security policies are crucial in the negotiation phase of service discovery and selection. However, such security policies are hard to understand and extremely error-prone, due to the complexity of the WS-SecurityPolicy specification. At the same time, because the WS-SecurityPolicy is described by natural language, there have ambiguity problem. These problem seriously hindered the development of web services policy. Therefore, this paper proposes a web services security policy description model to describe accurately and clearly security policies. The security policy model employs the formal modeling method to convert the policy assertions into the security rules.

To construct a large-scale service knowledge graph is necessary. We propose a method, namely semantic information extension, for service knowledge graphs. We insist on the information of services described by Web Services Description Language (WSDL) and we design the ontology layer of web service knowledge graph and construct the service graph, and using the WSDL document data set, the generated service knowledge graph contains 3738 service entities. In particular, our method can give a full performance to its effect in service discovery. To evaluate our approach, we conducted two sets of experiments to explore the relationship between services and classify services that develop by service descriptions. We constructed two experimental data sets, then designed and trained two different deep neural networks for the two tasks to extract the semantics of the natural language used in the service discovery task. In the prediction task of exploring the relationship between services, the prediction accuracy rate reached 95.1%, and in the service classification experiment, the accuracy rate of TOP5 reached 60.8%. Our experience shows that the service knowledge graph has additional advantages over traditional file storage when managing additional semantic information is effective and the new service representation method is helpful for service discovery and composition tasks.

The web-services stack of standards is designed to support the reuse and interoperation of software components on the web. A critical step in the process of developing applications based on web services is service discovery, i.e. the identification of existing web services that can potentially be used in the context of a new web application. Discovery through catalog-style browsing (such as supported currently by web-service registries) is clearly insufficient. To support programmatic service discovery, we have developed a suite of methods that assess the similarity between two WSDL (Web Service Description Language) specifications based on the structure of their data types and operations and the semantics of their natural language descriptions and identifiers. Given only a textual description of the desired service, a semantic information-retrieval method can be used to identify and order the most relevant WSDL specifications based on the similarity of the element descriptions of the available specifications with the query. If a (potentially partial) specification of the desired service behavior is also available, this set of likely candidates can be further refined by a semantic structure-matching step, assessing the structural similarity of the desired vs the retrieved services and the semantic similarity of their identifiers. In this paper, we describe and experimentally evaluate our suite of service-similarity assessment methods.

The growing quantity and distribution of bioinformatics resources means that finding and utilizing them requires a great deal of expert knowledge, especially as many resources need to be tied together into a workflow to accomplish a useful goal. We want to formally capture at least some of this knowledge within a virtual workbench and middleware framework to assist a wider range of biologists in utilizing these resources. Different activities require different representations of knowledge. Finding or substituting a service within a workflow is often best supported by a classification. Marshalling and configuring services is best accomplished using a formal description. Both representations are highly interdependent and maintaining consistency between the two by hand is difficult. We report on a description logic approach using the web ontology language DAML+OIL that uses property based service descriptions. The ontology is founded on DAML-S to dynamically create service classifications. These classifications are then used to support semantic service matching and discovery in a large grid based middleware project [Formula: see text]. We describe the extensions necessary to DAML-S in order to support bioinformatics service description; the utility of DAML+OIL in creating dynamic classifications based on formal descriptions; and the implementation of a DAML+OIL ontology service to support partial user-driven service matching and composition.

Services are central parts of developed economies. They are growing in numbers, varieties and complexities. Continuous expansion of service economic activities and their rich diversity have been posing challenges for researchers and academics in developing comprehensive foundations and conceptual frameworks. The gap between spectrum of services and viable elucidation methods has been increasing. The authors attempt to bridge the gap by presenting a suitable foundation for studying service economic activities. The novel foundation originates from a higher-order interaction-based perspective on services. This perspective enables encompassment of a broad range of service economic activities. It also allows micro and macro observations. The introduced foundation and framework permits study of services in a formalized and rigorous manner. Formal descriptions of services are beneficial for computer-based modeling and simulations. The description and modeling framework is sufficiently flexible and expandable. Expandability of the framework allows for inclusion of novel and emerging services. Flexibility is beneficial for providing a desired examination depth. The presented foundation and framework for elucidation of service economic activities is a potent instrument for advancing service studies.

Web mining is the application of data mining techniques to discover patterns from the Web. Web services defines set of standards like WSDL(Web Service Description Language), SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol) and UDDI(Universal Description Discovery and Integration) to support service description, discovery and invocation in a uniform interchangeable format between heterogeneous applications. Due to huge number of Web services and short content of WSDL description, the identification of correct Web services becomes a time consuming process and retrieves a vast amount of irrelevant Web services. This emerges the need for the efficient Web service mining framework for Web service discovery. Discovery involves matching, assessment and selection. Various complex relationships may provide incompatibility in delivering and identifying efficient Web services. As a result the web service requester did not attain the exact useful services. A research has emerged to develop method to improve the accuracy of Web service discovery to match the best services. In the discovery of Web services there are two approaches are available namely Semantic based approach and Syntactic based approach. Semantic based approach gives high accuracy than Syntactic approach but it takes high processing time. Syntactic based approach has high flexibility. Thus, this paper presents a survey of semantic based and syntactic based approaches of Web service discovery system and it proposed a novel approach which has better accuracy and good flexibility than existing one. Finally, it compares the existing approaches in web service discovery.

In today’s information world, the competitiveness of universities is closely related to the effectiveness of the IT services provided. However, the development of IT infrastructure requires maintaining a balance between cost and efficiency of services. An IT service includes information technologies, processes and people. In accordance with ITIL standards, the university’s IT department should move from supporting software, applications, servers and networks to timely providing IT services to end users. The first step to this is to create a catalog of IT services. The purpose of the catalog implementation is to provide a single source of consistent information about all operational services and ensure quick access to them. Unlike foreign universities, domestic higher education institutions do not practice a systematic description of IT services and their presentation through the IT catalog. Direct transfer of management models of foreign universities to the Ukrainian educational environment appears impractical. The publication proposes a three-level catalog model, describes the categories of services that can be provided by Ukrainian universities, and defines the attributes of the IT service description template. The attributes of the description include: name, type of services, brief description, business owner, priority, service owner, consumers, request order, SLA, support system, status/phase. From the moment the IT service catalog is fully formed, its periodic monitoring begins according to the following criteria: SLA validity, correctness of provision of IT services, etc. The publication considers the formation of a catalog by stakeholders of the University on the example of the National University of Water Management and Environmental Management. In general, the use of the suggested recommendations will provide a description of the IT infrastructure of universities in the form of a set of services, the value of which is understandable to stakeholders and university management, as well as will allow to achieve competitive advantages in the educational services market.

SummaryWhilst steady progress has been made in the development and dissemination of valid and reliable instruments for evaluation of patient outcomes, progress in establishing standard methodologies for description and classification of mental health services has been limited. Valid and reliable methods of describing and classifying services are needed in mental health services research for purposes including; i) comparison of levels of provision between catchment areas and countries; ii) reaching an understanding of the relationship between socio-demographic indicators and service use; iii) investigation of the degree to which one service may be substituted for another; iv) evaluating programme implementation; and v) understanding why different outcomes are observed from apparently similar treatment programmes. Where programmes of research encompass different countries, the need for methods of comparing the local service contexts is particularly acute. In this paper, the various contributions which have been made to the somewhat fragmented body of research in this area are reviewed, and the problems which have hampered the development of satisfactory instruments are discussed. A set of criteria for satisfactory service measurement methodologies is proposed: these include development of standard nomenclature and operational definitions of service types; clear demonstration of validity and reliability; comprehensiveness; and applicability and similar interpretation in a range of countries.

In this paper we study the possibility of modifying the conventional, advanced object-oriented methodology for software development of enterprise information systems on an enterprise services platform. The presented solution is preceded with the draft of the formal description of the business process logic and its service solutions. In the design for the introduction of business services there is used the so-called native solution that is very close to the thinking of corporate management. Adjustment of the classic, advanced object-oriented methodology is oriented on its cardinal development phases INSEPTION and ELABORATION. In these two phases important descriptions of relevant information modeling results are formed for the following CONSTRUCTION phase and TRANSITION phase. Editing, however, is methodological, and meta-documented with an example of a transparent graphical description of business services and a logical architecture of the target software.In other words, it means that this contribution provides small software companies with valuable knowledge for the creation of their own development methodologies on a platform of enterprise services. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the formation of implementing development methodologies, which absorb current knowledge disciplines of Software and Information Engineering.

This study aims to determine the description of the quality of library services at the Regional Libraries in the border area of North Central Timor Regency and to determine the description of the satisfaction of library service users in the border areas in North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Regional library services seen from indicator 1). Proof of Display (Tangibles); 2). Reliability (Reliability); 3) Responsiveness (Responsiveness); 4) Assurance; and Empathy (Emphaty). As for the variable service user satisfaction based on indicators 1) Quality of products / services; 2) Emotions; and 3) Cost or convenience provided. Data collection was carried out through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that the description of the variable quality of library services in the border area of North Central Timor Regency was quite good through display evidence indicators (Tangibles); 2). Reliability (Reliability); 3) Responsiveness (Responsiveness); 4) Assurance; and Empathy (Emphaty). As for the description of service user satisfaction variables based on indicators 1) Quality of products / services; not satisfactory, it is accrued that they are still using the manual system in services at the District Library Office of the Border District. North Central Timor; as for other indicators 2) Emotion; and 3) The cost or convenience provided is sufficient or satisfactory.

Web service categorization is a daunting task since it requires semantic descriptions of those services which are not provided to the majority of those websites. The proposal of a Semantic based automated service discovery requires a request from the user that can be analyzed which then provides the user with a list of related webs services based on the request that instigated the search. The problem with these service categorizations listed in the Universal description Discovery and Integration (UDDI) is the way the information is related to one another. The relations follow a syntactic method. Semantic based service descriptions is necessary for accurate web categorization. With the help of machine learning we can also predict the user’s service request automatically based on previous searches and also select the best web service for a particular request that the user has made using a k-nearest neighbor algorithm. By doing this we can distinguish between the various types of user requests, provide services that are suitable for that particular request as well as suggest other services that might potentially suit the needs of the user.

The growing number of the Web Services available on the Web without explicit associated semantic descriptions raises a new and challenging research problem: How to discover efficiently the relevant Web Services that fulfill the user expectations. However, many services that are relevant to a specific user service request may not be considered during the service discovery process. In this paper, the authors address the issue of the Web Service discovery given nonexplicit service description semantics that match a specific service request. Their approach is based on a captured user goal from an HTML form and the traceability and involves semantic-based service categorization, semantic discovery and selection of the best Web Service. Furthermore, the authors' proposal employs ontology matching algorithms to match a specific goal to an existing Web Service. An experimental test of the proposed framework related to the Medical Analysis domain is reported, showing the impact of the proposal in decreasing the time and the effort of the discovery process as a whole.

Searching and accessing geospatial information in the open and distributed environments of geospatial information systems poses several challenges due to the heterogeneity in geospatial data. Geospatial data is highly heterogeneous — both at the syntactic and semantic level. The requirement for an integration architecture for seamless access of geospatial data has been raised over the past decades. The paper proposes a service-based model for geospatial integration where each geospatial data provider is interfaced on the web as services. The interface for these services has been described with Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) specified service standards. Catalog service provides service descriptions for the services to be discovered. The semantic of each service description is captured in the form of ontology. The similarity assessment method of request service with candidate services proposed in this paper is aimed at resolving the heterogeneity in semantics of locational terms of service descriptions. In a way, we have proposed an architecture for enterprise geographic information system (E-GIS), which is an organization-wide approach to GIS integration, operation, and management. A query processing mechanism for accessing geospatial information in the service-based distributed environment has also been discussed with the help of a case study.

Retail florists' performance ratings of services provided by wholesale growers, wholesale florists, and grower-shippers/brokers were factor-analyzed to yield a hierarchical classification of customer service in floral distribution. Nine customer service factors were identified and three major independent classes of customer service were defined, including 1) physical distribution, 2) marketing, and 3) product quality services. Florists rated the performance of suppliers' physical distribution services higher than marketing and product quality services. Florists' perception of physical distribution and product quality services did not vary across type of supplier, but for marketing services, florists rated wholesale growers higher in performance than wholesale florists. The hierarchical classification of customer service and service performance profiles provide the floral industry with relevant market information for the successful development and effective implementation of customer service programs.

In the internet environment, web services based on representational state transfer (REST) have become the de facto standard. The addition of semantics is intended to enhance the description of web services with information that enables automatic agents to understand their data. However, the existence of different languages to semantically describe services makes it difficult to discover and select the service that best meets a requirement. Furthermore, relatively few proposals have a RESTful service semantic description, making the discovery process for RESTful services more difficult. This work proposes a RESTful semantic web service discovery architecture based on semantic interfaces (SERIN). SERIN is an ontology with annotations that semantically describe RESTful web services. This architecture enables software agents to automatically discover and make service calls in order to execute a determined task.

Currently, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is widely used in various fields, but a shortcoming is that the process of service discovering and matching is limited only to syntactic level which easily leads to information mismatching. In this paper, we propose semantic SOA for missile design system, which introduces SOA to missile design area. The semantically improved system uses ontologies to define semantics among services and integrates isolated information. Moreover, we describe services in a way combining WSDL and tuple description method together which enables automatic service discovery and matching. At last, we discuss the concept of "semantic template" that allows service requesters to create a semantic rich description of services.

Web Services (WS) are fundamental software artifacts for building service oriented applications and they are usually reused by others. Therefore they must be analyzed and comprehended for maintenance tasks: identification of critical parts, bug fixing, adaptation and improvement. In this article, WSDLUD a method aimed at measuring a priori the understanding degree (UD) of WSDL (Web Service Description Language) descriptions is presented. In order to compute UD several criteria useful to measure the understanding?s complexity of WSDL descriptions must be defined. These criteria are used by LSP (Logic Scoring of Preference), a multicriteria evaluation method, for producing a Global Preference value that indicates the satisfaction level of the WSDL description regarding the evaluation focus, in this case, the understanding degree. All the criteria information required by LSP is extracted from WSDL descriptions by using static analysis techniques and processed by specific algorithms which allow gathering semantic information. This process allows to obtain a priori information about the comprehension difficulty which proves our research hypotheses that states that it is possible to compute the understanding degree of a WSDL description.

Web Services have become essential to the software industry as they represent reusable, remotely accessible functionality and data. Since Web Services must be discovered before being consumed, many discovery approaches applying classic Information Retrieval techniques, which store and process textual service descriptions, have arisen. These efforts are affected by term mismatch: a description relevant to a query can be retrieved only if they share many words. We present an approach to improve Web Service discoverability that automatically augments Web Service descriptions and can be used on top of such existing syntactic-based approaches. We exploit Named Entity Recognition to identify entities in descriptions and expand them with information from public text corpora, for example, Wikidata, mitigating term mismatch since it exploits both synonyms and hypernyms. We evaluated our approach together with classical syntactic-based service discovery approaches using a real 1274-service dataset, achieving up to 15.06% better Recall scores, and up to 17% Precision-at-1, 8% Precision-at-2 and 4% Precision-at-3.

Matching is integral part of all web services tasks. The effective implementation of the process of matching services with a search query, or with each other, ensures successful resolving of the problems of service discovery, building the best coverage of the search query and a complex composite service that implements the business task. All web services have own characteristics, solve different problems, use different methods, but they all also have a certain set of characteristics: functional and process models, formal description language, communication protocol, a common set of element types, such as identifiers, service messages, parameters and etc. This allows to classify services in a certain way, the analysis of these characteristics permits to define the elements and aspects of the comparison process. Today there is a huge number of services, and their number is constantly growing, and the process of services discovery is very complex and multifaceted. It should take into account the structural, syntactic, but, first of all, the semantic suitability of services, to ensure their comparative analysis according to the maximum possible number of characteristics that are significant for matching. It should be step-by-step process and it has be designed in such a way that each step reduces the set of candidates, leaving services with a greater degree of compliance. This requires algorithms that return quantitative estimates for each step, each type of matching, and algorithms that effectively generalize these estimates to define the final values of the proximity of services and the request. These researches are devoted to problems of using the descriptive logics formalisms for web services matching by their contexts, which, as a rule, contain information about the services purposes, the area of use, business functions, etc. That is, it is information representing the semantics of the service, but in text form, that is not convenient for automated processing. There are many studies that try to solve this problem by applying standard text analysis methods to contextual service descriptions. This study proposes an ontological approach to matching web services by context. It is determined the extension of the previously proposed the top-level service DL ontology. It also involves the use of a special ontology of the general textual service description, a fragment of the taxonomy of which is presented in the paper. This ontology should cover all important semantic aspects of contextual descriptions. It have not only promote to determining the matching a service and a request, but it also have to allow semantically categorizing the available services: by subject area, implemented functions, etc.

Linked Unified Service Description Language (Linked USDL) provides a comprehensive way for describing services from operational, technical, and business perspectives. However, this description treats services as isolated components that offer functionalities only without emphasis on how they are used. This paper discusses how to extend Linked USDL in a way that permits to describe the services of a marketplace in support of automating the provisioning of service-oriented cloud-based business applications along with satisfying users' requirements. The marketplace consists of business services that can be composed and specialized services that act on behalf of the infrastructure upon which these applications are deployed. A set of experiments demonstrating the use of the extended Linked USDL are also presented in the paper.

Business development or renovation is to introduce newer, more efficient routines and processes through redesign or re-engineering of businesses, which form a set of business patterns. Business patterns encapsulate the best solutions for business practices and tasks confirming business strategies of the enterprise. Nowadays, services with SOA (Service oriented-Architecture) become more and more important in implementing and supporting business routines and processes. An enterprise that can encapsulate their SOA solutions into patterns will make the business more agile and effective. However, with the SOA solutions to automation of locating relevant instance services for its business patterns with minimum human intervention, one has to look into the semantic and operational difference between the description of a business pattern and that of an instance service - a gap between the two levels of descriptions. In this paper, the authors introduce a conceptual modelling method to address how to bridge the gap, by a semantic service description for usage contextual approach formalized with the conceptual graphs formalism. Most importantly, they evaluate this model in this paper to study its usability in practice.

Documentation assists health care professionals in providing appropriate services to patients by documenting indications and medical necessity, and reflects the competency and character of the physician. Documentation is considered a cornerstone of the quality of patient care. This is nowhere more true than in interventional pain management. Thus, documentation in physicians’ offices, hospital settings, ambulatory surgery centers, rehabilitation centers, and other settings must be accurate, complete, and reflect all of the services provided during each encounter. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) defines medical necessity in these terms: “no payment may be made under Part A or Part B for any expense incurred for items or services which are not reasonable and necessary for the diagnosis or treatment of illness or injury or to improve the functioning of a participant.” The American Medical Association (AMA) defines medical necessity as, “health care services or procedures that a prudent physician would provide to a patient for the purpose of preventing, diagnosing, or treating an illness, injury, disease, or its symptoms in a manner that is in accordance with generally accepted standards of medical practice, clinically appropriate in terms of type, frequency, extent, site, and duration, and not primarily for the convenience of the patient, physician, or other health care provider.” Documentation requirements include an appropriate medical record utilizing recognized and acceptable standards of documentation and an established process. However, the evolution of electronic medical records (EMRs) or electronic health records (EHRs) nullifies many of the issues faced in handwritten documentation. Multiple types of documentation include evaluation and management services and documentations in ambulatory surgery centers, hospital outpatient departments, and in office settings, specifically while performing interventional procedures. Evaluation and management services incorporate 5 levels of service for consultations and visits, with multiple key elements of service including history, physical examination, and medical decision making. Documentation of interventional procedures in general requires a history and physical, indication and medical necessity, intra-operative procedural description, post-operative monitoring and ambulation, discharge, and disposition. With minor variations, these requirements are similar for an in-office setting, hospital out patient department, and ambulatory surgery centers. The Italian Public Administration (PA) consists in a wide set of local authorities (i.e., regions, provinces and municipalities) providing services to citizens, each with its own administrative autonomy. Actually, it often happens that Italian citizens have difficulties in discovering and using services that they need in the course of their lifes. Several Italian initiatives, suchas the SMART (Services and Meta-services for smart e-Government) project, aim to simplify the interaction between Italian citizens and the PA trought the definition of value -added services. A value-added service (VAS) guides the citizen in the fruition of all services needed along a life event (e.g., the change of address). In this paper, we present a new version of the Italian Public Administration Service (IPAS) model defined for the description of PA services. We will show how the new model supports the description of concepts that simplifies the definition of VAS. A case study defined in the context of the SMART project will be presented.

Purpose – A new service was developed to provide transitional care between acute and secure services for people with serious mental illness who are considered “difficult to manage”. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the work of the service by examining referrals made, strategies employed for each referral, and patient outcomes, as well as investigating issues in the service's development and implementation. Design/methodology/approach – A retrospective descriptive study by review of 38 case notes, and qualitative interviews of 47 staff within the service and those referring to the service. Findings – In the first eight months, 38 patients were referred due to violence, aggression and management problems. Most interventions provided by the service involved working with referring staff, rather than direct patient contact. Subsequently, 16 per cent required referral to higher levels of security. Interviews showed the team's aims needed to be more clearly established, but that ward staff found the service to be a useful and productive resource. Research limitations/implications – The study is descriptive and retrospective, but showed that the service provided appropriate interventions for managing patients with serious mental illness and challenging behaviour. Practical implications – A transitional service may have value in keeping patients in the least restrictive setting. Careful planning is needed in designing novel interventions, ensuring clear aims and effective management. Originality/value – The service under study was novel, and may be useful in facilitating successful transfer from, or preventing admission to, secure services.

The article discusses methods of consolidating scientific services of a digital platform for integrating a set of scientific services for various fields of science for conducting interdisciplinary research. Solutions for creating consolidated services can be widely used for multilevel, multiscale modeling in the field of materials science, which provides complex modeling at several levels of the hierarchy. Currently, this problem is being solved by creating multicomponent hierarchical software systems on corporate computing systems. With the advent of high-performance cloud computing platforms, it will be possible to order services for solving particular modeling problems as a scientific service. In this case, the tasks of complex hierarchical modeling will be solved by a consolidated service - a service providing sequential-parallel execution of complex modeling components in the form of specialized scientific services. The description of the processes for the provision of scientific services is based on the research methodology and is a research plan (the work process mapping), which describes a set of operations related to time and includes a list of necessary resources for their implementation. In modern conditions of the development of a microservice approach to the creation of computing systems and the evolution of the Service Oriented Architecture and of the Enterprise Service Bus integration, special attention is paid to the problems of efficient integration of platform services. The paper proposes to supplement the existing description of a scientific service with the possibility of ordering a third-party service based on agile integration. This approach will allow at the present stage of development of service architectures to overcome the shortcomings of centralized systems such as Enterprise Service Bus and take advantage of the elasticity of cloud computing and a microservice approach to creating information and computing systems.

In software technology, over the diversified environment, services can be rendered using an innovative mechanism of a novel paradigm called web services. In a business environment, rapid changes and requirements from various customers can be adapted using this service. For service management and discovery, the classification of Web services having the same functions is an efficient technique. However, there will be short lengthened Web services functional description documents, having less information, and sparse features. This makes difficulties in modelling short text in various topic models and leads to make an effect in the classification of Web services. A Mixed Wide and PSO-Bi-LSTM-CNN model (MW-PSO-Bi-LSTM-CNN) is proposed in this work for solving this issue. In this technique, the Web service category‟s breadth prediction is performed by combining Web services description document‟s discrete features, which exploits the wide learning model. In the next stage, the PSO-Bi-LSTM-CNN model is used for mining Web services description document word‟s context information and word order, for performing the Web service category‟s depth prediction. Here, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is integrated with the Bi-LSTM-CNN network for computing various hyper-parameters in an automatic manner. In third stage, Web service categories, results of depth, and breadth prediction are integrated using a linear regression model as final service classification result. At last, MW-PSO-Bi-LSTM-CNN, Wide&Bi-LSTM, and Wide&Deep web service classification techniques are compared and a better result with respect to web service classification accuracy is obtained using the proposed technique as shown in experimental results.

This framework is an Adaptable Intentional Web Service-Publishing Framework (AIWS-PF). The authors opted for automatic generation because the service supplier is unaware of this new structure of services. For this reason, they chose to automatically generate the description of intentional adaptable service using semantic annotations and the automatic detection of service intention through Natural Language Processing techniques (NLP). Moreover, the authors proposed an extension of UDDI register so that it saves intentional, contextual and QoS information.

Web services are programs which perform some elementary business process of an application and are distributed over the Internet. These services are described, discovered and executed using standard languages WSDL, SOAP and UDDI. Proliferation of web services has resulted in intense competition between providers, which provide the same service. To survive in such a competitive environment, they need to advertise the quality of their service. Web service description language does not provide support to describe quality attributes. Recently, DAmbrogio proposed QOS model of web services based on a meta model of WSDL. In this paper, we present a platform to advertise QOS as declared by the service provider. This tool generates a WSDL file from Java code along with its quality of service attributes. It accepts Java code and a file containing quality attributes. These attributes include reliability, availability, and operation demand and operation latency. These attributes are included in WSDL file as a content of description element.

The study describes an approach for heterogeneous web services cataloguing of geographically distributed computing nodes in the computational and analytical geological environment. The approach of creation of web services monitoring system is proposed. In this study the approach for web services catalogue organization based on SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) protocol, with use of UDDI (Universal Description Discovery and Integration) registries is reviewed. The scheme for heterogeneous web services description with an ability of further creation of catalogue is proposed. The catalogue includes functions for searching and receiving of metainformation about every web service in it. The study also describes an approach for computational and analytical geological environment creation. A number of web services for heterogeneous data processing used in geological research is described. The approaches for organization of cataloguing and web services monitoring provide a higher level of reliability of computational and analytical geological environment. They provide an information about web service reliability within environment.

The main purpose of modern information systems (IS) is to support the procedures of controlling many business processes (BP) of an enterprise. At the same time, due to a weak formalization of BP, processes of development, reengineering of various service-oriented IS and IT services are a complex problem. To address this problem, the task to improve the method for choosing IT services that meet an assigned set of functional and non-functional limitations was stated. The specific features of the original method for choosing IT services were analyzed, its main shortcomings were identified. The model of the BP precedent was modified to establish the relationship between descriptions of the precedent, functional requirements, and the used IT services. The method for selecting IT services for the IS was improved by adding the functions of requirements analysis and searching for descriptions of IT services that partially meet the stated functional requirements. In the method, the adaptive linear associator of the mADALIN neuron was used to quantify the degree of match of the functional requirement and the description of the function of the IT service. These proposals were the basis for the improved method for selecting the IT service that best fits the set of constraints that are formed. Based on the result of the conducted research, an experimental test of the improved method for selecting an IT service to solve the problem of automation of the activities of sale force of the electronic policy OSAGO was carried out. The information technology implementing the original method for choosing IT services was compared to the improved method. It was shown that the improved method makes it possible to identify situations of a match of functional requirements of a customer and the descriptions of IT services. The development, registration, discovery, and invocation of quality Web services are vital for the successful implementation of applications using Web services. Considerable research focuses on quality for Web services. Unfortunately, current research on Quality of Service (QoS) for Web services is concentrated on service users and the implementation stage. This research highlights the importance of incorporating QoS at the design and development stages; the authors propose the introduction of QoS at the same time as functional requirements. However, Web Service Description Language (WSDL) describes the functional elements of a Web service, and QoS is significant for this description. Therefore, the authors propose an extension to the WSDL through a generic QoS metamodel, incorporating QoS specifications into the functionalities. This paper begins by defining the required QoS specifications for the development of quality Web services and explores the potential of the Unified Modeling Language as a technique and notation to specify QoS. To properly integrate QoS in the design, the authors propose extensions to the existing UML QoS profile. The paper concludes with the evaluation of the proposed framework and summarises its advantages.

To realize sharing and synergy between manufacturing resources and manufacturing capability in cloud manufacturing, the manufacturing service model is divided into function model and non-function model. Elements and description of function model is given, and function model determines manufacturing services’ combination planning. Also the composition of non-function model and each part’s weight is presented, and non-function model is the basis to evaluate the priority of manufacturing services. For the case of resource in cloud manufacturing services, sharing ontology and private ontology are researched. Sharing ontology is common description of the whole manufacturing domain, and private ontology is individual description of a specific manufacturing platform. The transformation between sharing ontology and private ontology provides a way for isomerism resources to invoke each other.

Web service composition is a significant problem as the number of available web services increases; however, manual composition is not an efficient option. Automated web service composition can be performed using AI Planning techniques, utilizing descriptions of available atomic web services, enhanced with semantic awareness and relaxation. This paper discusses a unified, semantically aware approach, handling both semantic (OWL-S & SAWSDL) and non-semantic (WSDL) web service descriptions. In the first case, ontology analysis is adopted to semantically enhance the planning domains and problems, in order to deal with cases where exact syntactic input-to-output matching is not feasible. In the non-semantic descriptions case, semantic information is acquired utilizing alternative sources such as lexical thesauri. Concept similarity measures are applied and utilized to achieve the desired degree of semantic relaxation. The solution to a web service composition problem is a plan describing the desired composite service. To support the proposed approach, the PORSCE framework has been implemented. The framework is modular, integrating discrete web service description languages and semantic relaxation techniques. Based on the similarity measures suggested in the paper, performance issues are also explored.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO)’s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC), at its 101st session (5 to 14 June 2019), adopted Resolution MSC.467(101) on the guidance on the definition and harmonization of the format and structure of maritime services in the context of e-Navigation and agreed to consolidate the descriptions of maritime services and to consider them together with all involved international organizations and interested member states, in order to harmonize the provision and exchange of maritime information and data. In doing so, the MSC also approved the initial descriptions of maritime services in the context of e-Navigation (IMO MSC.1/Circ.1610), which had been prepared by the Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue, at its sixth session (16 to 25 January 2019). The information contained in this paper constitutes the descriptions of two selected examples of maritime services, an initial contribution for the harmonization of the formats and structures of pilotage and tug services. The initial description of each of maritime services is expected to be next periodically updated, taking into account developments and related work on international harmonization.

AbstractA service based on the principle that the comprehensive mental health needs of a community can be more efficiently met by supporting the existing primary care services has been developed in the North Aylesbury Vale, Buckinghamshire, England. The Buckingham Project is a home-based mental health service and caters for a rapidly expanding rural community of approximately thirty five thousand people between the ages of 16 and 65 years. Professional support is provided to the services and care already provided by primary health care teams, social agencies and above all, by families. Specially trained nurses work as specialists within the primary care teams in the area. Initial consultation is provided on the day of referral, often in the patient's home. Cost effective management approaches are employed throughout. The emphasis is on early detection of major mental illness and immediate intensive treatment using cognitive/behavioural treatment methods, and targeted low dose medication where necessary. The approach differs from the traditional hospital-based specialist services.

This paper presents the concepts, definitions, issues, and solutions that revolve around the adoption of capacity-driven Web services. Because of the intrinsic characteristics of these Web services compared to regular, mono-capacity Web services, they are examined in a different way and across four steps denoted by description, discovery, composition, and enactment. Implemented as operations to execute at run-time, the capacities that empower a Web service are selected with respect to requirements put on this Web service such as data quality and network bandwidth. In addition, this paper reports on first the experiments that were conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of capacity-driven Web services, and also the research opportunities that will be pursued in the future.

As survival rates and life expectancies of individuals experiencing acquired disabilities such as spinal cord injury improve, greater demands are placed on health, rehabilitation and long-term care services. Further, family caregivers are assuming much of the caring responsibilities. This paper examines family caregiving in relation to individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) in an Australian context. The paper is based on a descriptive survey conducted with 206 individuals with SCI, referred to a specialist SCI outreach service in Queensland, and 179 family caregivers. The survey collected social and demographic information and details of the type of care provided by family caregivers. It also explored family caregivers' perceptions of the types of services they require to assist them in their caring roles. Family caregiving typically involved physical, practical, and emotional support, and in many cases this occupied in excess of three hours a day, with no additional source of caregiving provided. The most frequently reported service types required by family caregivers included respite, personal support, information services, and health professional services. Mapping caregiver needs in this area establishes a critical basis for service planning and more importantly provides a guide for the development of a range of services dedicated to maintaining the health and well-being of family caregivers of individuals with SCI.
