This conception is about the personality, the way to treat the received information for individuals, and it can also influence the education, which includes of course the mathematic education. In China, the mathematic is a principle subject at school in the Chinese educational system. With a special background in the society of China, a special educational system has been formed. The secondary education is the most typical in this educational system, and we need to think about the most frequent cognitive styles among Chinese students and also the cognitive style of each student to find the best methods to make the mathematic education better and more appropriate. For this destination, we need to consider the side of learning and the side of teaching. Therefore, our work will start by a presentation of the researches of cognitive styles and those mature theories, which can be our theoretical base, and then we will connect the education of mathematic with cognitive styles by a presentation of the situation of mathematics education in China. With the results of our research, we will analysis and make some advises about the politics of education, of the teaching and learning methods to try to ameliorate the mathematic education in China with help of cognitive styles and this research

Повний текст джерелаThis doctoral research examines the effects of the social and family trajectories of a group of youth studying in the International Chinese Section of a French school located in Shanghai, China, on the development of their representations and practices, and the construction of multiple identities. This longitudinal study investigates the multiple ways in which these young people, with varied profiles, develop their plurilingual and pluricultural identities as they move back and forth between their family, school and environment on a daily basis.In the specific context of a Francophone community abroad, the narratives of the social actors involved (students, parents, teachers) help situate the educational and identity trajectories of these young people within a societal dimension, and within family trajectories punctuated by various experiences of mobility.Encouraged to engage in reflexive feedback on experiences lived between languages and cultures, they recount their representations and plural linguistic and cultural practices, revealing their appropriation of an educational journey marked by geographical, linguistic, and cultural in-betweens. Actively involved in the development of this study, the young people act as participant-researchers, whose reflections and analyses reveal the influence of plurilingual and pluricultural childhoods on their negotiation of multiple identities.A longitudinal and multimodal follow-up, based on a biographical approach, allows for tracking their journeys up to their first years of higher education across the world, unveiling their implementation, notably on social networks, of plurilingual (pluriliterate) and pluricultural competence, which may guide them toward roles as cultural intermediaries

Will the latter will adapt this device and be implied more in their trainings ? In comparison with the state of research and a first step carried out « on the ground », we make the asumption that the appropriation of Internet by the collegians within the school framework will be related to their report with Internet apart from the college, of the representations of the school practices, their objectives and ressources to reach them. The results tend to point a cleavage between two cultures. The practices which they have of Internet within the framework of the college are often too specific to call into question this rupture between two universes

This experience has revealed and confirmed the deep-rooted conviction that secondary-school boys and girls have a real demand for the study of religions and their history. Their interest in religion focuses on the meaning and origin of the beliefs and rituals connected with the major landmarks of man's life, in other words, it has nothing to do with the idea of a salvation to come. The resort to hermeneutics springs from an attempt to understand and acknowledge one's origin: ethics thus becomes central to hermeneutics. Some sort of "complicity" can be traced between morals and science and, as is the case with ecology, it is based upon the absolute necessity to respect others and nature. Science and religion are no longer at ads and the various representations of god express that manor purpose of religion: giving the world its ethical sense

The aim is to identify, within the family, the main factors that significantly influence pupils’ performance, in order to enable the school chaplaincy to give them better support and reduce as far as possible the number of cases of underachievement. Pastoral support for pupils is nowadays a major concern of the Church. Accompanying them along the way - especially those who are in difficulty - is an integral part of the chaplaincy’s mission. This pastoral support means meeting a range of expectations: desire to take stock and to exchange, need to be reconciled with oneself, search for encouragement, demand for love, affection and protection… The chaplain’s way of listening and giving advice, his attitude of respect and his discretion, benevolence and good sense are the signs of a genuine spiritual life. Lastly, faced with the recurrent problem of underachievement, the chaplaincy’s mission must have three main thrusts: moral and spiritual support in terms of faith education and catechesis; social support in terms of diaconal work; pastoral support in terms of care of souls

Many have already tried to understand the influence of the school, and the chronology of the survey of this sociological issue has been mentioned. After giving us a monography about it, the author applies a simplified form of Olivier Cousin's methodology to the results of eleven junior high schools of Limoges (87) at the written test of the + brevet ; in 1992,93,94 and 95. In order to evaluate their efficiency, he compares the achievement (the actual results compared to the expectations) to the equity (the tightening or widening of the gasps between the best students and the weaker ones). The most efficient school appears to be Franck jhs. The results are compared to the local educational policies. It can be noticed that efficiency is almost always linked to a strict and consensual policy regarding the obligation for the students to do their duty. A strict educative supervision is often set up. But such a step is hard to accept for students who have difficulties to endure the pressure exerted on them by the school. The efficiency of a school cannot thus be reduced to its results alone. Every jhs in the sample is classified according to three different types : those which privilege instruction, those which privilege education and those which illustrate the effort that has been consensually accepted. The ideal jhs, the "efficient one", would then be the one that would ensure educational achievement while giving a meaning to the children's studies

Повний текст джерелаResearch works investigated information seeking behavior generally from differences between experts and novices. Three expertises are involved in activity, domain expertise, system expertise and information seeking expertise. Although considered as novices in these three categories, young people became regular searchers. The aim of this study is to describe youth's information seeking in context. Sixth to twelveth graders conducted two search tasks, selfgenerated or assigned, on WWW, on-line catalog or full-text electronic encyclopedia. In addition, an enquiry method is proposed, from the method of stimuled recall. It is used to analyse the activity of 15 binomials. Analysis shows that analytical strategies, query formulations and reformulations are preferred to navigation in all search tasks. When middle school and high school students assess primaries and secondaries documents and search systems, they apply about twenty relevance criteria. They use images in three phases of process, information accessing, information assessing and information extracting. The document made with copy-and-paste extracts could be use for defining information need and checking activity

Or, quoique les sites web et Facebook des écoles offrent un environnement scolaire numérique avec des possibilités pour l’orientation scolaire et professionnelle (OSP) auprès des jeunes, leur usage reste à ce jour relativement peu documenté. Notre recherche s’intéresse aux usages numériques en OSP en milieu scolaire. Autant le rôle de l’OSP au sein du Programme de formation de l’école québécoise (OCCOQ, 2013; MELS, 2007) que l’influence des interactions communautaires dans les intentions d’avenir des jeunes (Law, 1981) servent de cadre de référence pour comprendre ces usages. L’objectif principal de cette recherche qualitative est d’explorer les usages des sites web et Facebook en OSP au sein d’une commission scolaire francophone et de ses établissements d’enseignement secondaire au Québec. Treize sites web (547 éléments web) et treize sites Facebook (1531 publications) d’une commission scolaire ont fait l’objet d’une analyse documentaire rigoureuse. Les résultats de la recherche indiquent que, pour les sites web et les sites Facebook, l’OSP se fait rare, sous-exploite les possibilités qu’offrent les sites, vise une population principalement adulte et offre très peu de visibilité. Les analyses permettent de dégager trois principaux constats : l’OSP tirerait profit à occuper l’environnement numérique scolaire auprès des jeunes, les formateurs auraient avantage à offrir de l’accompagnement aux professionnels de l’orientation et les spécialistes de l’orientation auraient intérêt à adopter une posture éclairée devant l’usage du numérique.
Many school counsellors work with a youth population that makes varied and frequent use of the internet and social media (Thoër & Millerand, 2017; CEFRIO, 2017). Although web sites and Facebook available in schools offer young people a digital environment with possibilities for educational and career development (ECD), their utilization is not yet widely documented. Our research interest is the use of digital resources for ECD in the school environment. The role of ECD in the Quebec school system’s program of education (OCCOQ, 2013; MELS, 2007) as well as the influence of community interactions on young people’s plans for their future (Law, 1981) serve as terms of reference for understanding their use. The main objective of this qualitative research is to explore the use of web sites and Facebook for ECD in secondary schools in a Quebec French school board. Thirteen web sites (547 web elements) and thirteen Facebook sites (1531 publications) from one school board were the subject of a rigorous documentary analysis. The results of this research indicate that ECD is rare on websites and Facebook sites, that it underutilizes the potential of the sites, that it is directed mainly towards an adult population and that it has very little visibility. The analysis provides three main findings: ECD would benefit from occupying the digital environment available to young people, training should be available to accompany guidance professionals in their use of digital media and school counsellors should adopt a positive posture towards these methods and towards the digital environment.

Повний текст джерелаA pedagogical tool which reorganizes educational time and space thanks to the use of new technologies, the Flipped Classroom has generated great enthusiasm in education. Given the rapid development of this instructional approach at the secondary level in France, this research looks at the appropriation of the flipped classroom by French high school students and questions the dynamics created for the learner navigating in a flipped setting. Using questionnaires and semi-directive interviews conducted with 8 high school classes, an exploratory analysis was done to understand the evolution of students’ relationship to knowledge and how they reposition themselves in relation to their teacher. It appears that the flipped classroom approach is more of an instrument to serve teachers’ needs than a change agent for students. Beyond its impact on student motivation, which differs from one student to another, the Flipped Classroom approach seems to come within the scope of the redistribution of roles at the high school level, placing the student in a situation of tension between submission and responsibility concerning his/her learning

The objective of this study is to analyze the reasons of such problems & build proposal to solve them. Studying the “Social Practice of reference” (Martinand, 1986) on which is built the didactic approach leads us to fine tune & confirm our hypothesis. We tend to think that the students could invest themselves deeper in the middle-distance running if the teaching approach was closer to the actual practice in use at competition level. We think that an interesting way to propose education contents able to trigger student motivation & allow true progress would be to rehabilitate the middle-distance running through an update of some components of the teaching as competing individually or collectively, relay race, technical aspects, strategy, tactics… To achieve our goal, we propose to compare two different teaching methods for middle-distance running with a 1500 m race preparation as target : - a “classical” approach based on Maximal Aerobic Speed development and regularity as an effort management individual model ; - an « alternative » approach adding organisation highlighting strategic, tactical & technical aspects in the physical exercise. Our experiment was built in 2 steps. In the 1st phase we worked with DEUG STAPS students in specifically adapted conditions (duration, lessons number, specialized teachers). Then in the 2nd phase we worked with on a cycle adapted to actual teaching conditions, in 7 lessons. Quantitative results & conclusions from the 1st experiment have built the ground for the 2nd phase whose objective was to validate the approach in actual conditions. Through this process, after a « local ecologist validation », we crosschecked our approach through an “external validation” (Bouthier & Durey 1994). Some questions remain open, but we have shown that our approach is realistic in the actual scholar environment. It seems that it gives satisfactory results as what concerns the acquisition & investment. Finally it highlights the question regarding a teaching content review for middle-distance running, opening some interesting perspectives to achieve it

Повний текст джерелаOur research aims to understand the evolution of students’ learning identity and learning preferences when they engage, for the first time, in a theatrical curriculum. We seek to identify the characteristics of the evolution oft heir learning identity in drama, that is, how they define themselves in the theatrical context. Also, we seek to identify those of the evolution of their learning preferences in drama, or the preferential way they learn, which include, as defined by Vermunt (1996; 1998), cognitive components as well as conative components. We also seek to identify the characteristics of the evolution of global learning identity and global learning preferences, i.e. in the students’ general context of learning. Finally, we seek to determine whether certain characteristics are common to these developments. To do so, we met six secondary students starting drama and carried out a multiple case study including several data collections: a semi-structured interview with each student at the beginning of the year, just after the introduction of drama in their curriculum; a new semi-structured interview at the end of the year, with each student and including a self-confrontation component; an interview with their drama teacher; and non-participatory observation within a course. We then performed a corpus analysis to identify the dimensions evolving in each student, before carrying out the multiple case study. Our research shows that certain characteristics of the theatrical context strongly influence the formation of the learning identity and the evolution of learning preferences, and we have been able to identify certain evolutions that are transferred in the global context for several students – notably self-confidence, the application of the material to learn it or the development of autonomy.
