Children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have difficulty achieving normal growth due to severe alterations in the growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) axis. Recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) therapy (GH). It encourages long-term growth and allows children with CKD to reach normal height.It has been demonstrated to be both safe and effective. After a kidney transplant, growth retardation may remain. Multiple variables, such as steroid use, impaired renal function, and an aberrant GH axis, have contributed to this condition.

Smoking (tobacco use) is a the costliest and deadliest of the substance-use disorders. Smoking cessation is an industry unto itself. Alternative approaches to smoking cessation pre-date pharmacologic approaches (buproprion, varenicline, nicotine replacement) including: hypnosis, CBT, yoga, supplements, and acupuncture have been clinically validated. Other approaches, including energy healing and diet, have not demonstrated efficacy. This chapter focuses on genetics, pharmacology, physiology, and the aforementioned approaches and the relevant research of this long-standing epidemic.

Hormonal regulation of plant physiological processes, including use of phytohormone-based drugs and modifiers of their activity, offers a sustainable approach to enhancing plant productivity. The aim of our work was to reveal the features of amaranth ontogenesis under the influence of auxin growth stimulants. We assessed the effects of indoleacetic, indolylbutyric, and naphthylacetic acids on germination processes, development, and productivity of amaranth plants.
