In this research work, the combination of three novel approaches is established to estimate the states of three-phase balanced and unbalanced distribution networks and using the developed methods for high impedance fault detection. This thesis suggests a Bayesian vector autoregressive (VAR) model which allows for explicit parametrization of the unconditional mean for data measured at different frequencies, without the need to aggregate data to the lowest common frequency.
