Повний текст джерелаConversational agents have become widespread in recent years. Today, they have transcended their initial purpose of simulating a conversation with a computer program and are now valuable tools for accessing information and carrying out various tasks, from customer service to personal assistance. With the rise of text-generative models and Large Language Models (LLMs), the capabilities of conversational agents have increased tenfold. However, they are now subject to hallucinations, producing false information. A popular technique to limit the risk of hallucinations is Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), which injects knowledge into a text generation process. Such injected knowledge can be drawn from Knowledge Graphs (KGs), which are structured machine-readable knowledge representations. Therefore, we explore Knowledge Graph-based Retrieval Augmented Generation (KG-RAG) to build trusted conversational agents. We demonstrate our approach on a real-world use case for citizen support by building conversational agents for disability management in cities. We first present a history of conversational agents, introducing the approaches implemented over the years and the evaluation techniques. We then define KGs and ontologies, and explore construction and evaluation techniques. As we could not find a directly exploitable KG, our first contribution introduces the Ontology Learning Applied Framework (OLAF). This modular system is built for automated and repeatable KG construction from unstructured text. OLAF integrates linguistic, statistical, and LLM-based techniques to generate Minimum Viable Ontologies for specific domains. Applied to real-world datasets, OLAF demonstrates robust performance through gold-standard evaluations and task-specific Competency Questions. We detail the construction process for a KG about disability management in a French city. We then propose an architecture for KG-RAG systems to enhance information retrieval by aligning user queries with KG structures through entity linking, graph queries, and LLM-based retrieval approaches. We demonstrate our architecture on different use cases, which we evaluate using criteria such as performance, human preference, and environmental impact. While user preferences advantage Text-RAG, KG-RAG's reduced computational footprint underscores its potential for sustainable AI practices. Finally, we identify the critical part of the architecture as the retriever. Therefore, we tackle the retrieval task in our architecture by exploring embeddings in various contexts, i.e. improving EL, retrieval, and providing a caching system. We also propose mechanisms for handling multi-turn conversations. This work establishes a comprehensive framework for KG-RAG systems, combining the semantic depth of KGs with the generative capabilities of LLMs to deliver accurate, contextual, and sustainable conversational agents. Contributions include OLAF for scalable KG construction, a robust KG-RAG pipeline, and embedding-based enhancements for retrieval and interaction quality. By addressing conversational agents' industrial challenges, such as scalability, retrieval precision, and conversational coherence, this research lays the foundation for deploying KG-RAG systems in diverse and specialised domains

These devices show novel physical properties and functional characteristics due to their reduced size. Besides, their operating power consumption are tiny, making the use of their environment as energy source highly attractive. The design of a generator that scavenge the surrounding energy of the NEMS is quite a challenge; indeed, such a microharvester should be small enough to ensure that the dimensions of the whole autonomous device are still acceptable. in that context, we investigate ZnO nanowires as active elements of piezoelectric nano and microgenerator. We have specially developed two models of nanowire that take into account of the piezoelectric-semiconducting coupling to appreciate its effects on the electromechanical conversion of energy

Vehicles are becoming more complex and are integrating new systems relying on key functionalities such as perception. Perception is used in various ways to ensure safer mobility, allowing the main inboard system to understand the environment in which the vehicle evolves. Perception plays a critical role in the proper behavior of an autonomous vehicle. It is necessary to ensure that the embedded perception solutions are effective enough to meet safe driving requirements. However, the evaluation of such solutions remains a complex and little explored task. One of the critical issues is the difficulty of generating and having sufficient reference data to conduct relevant evaluations. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a new validation tool to evaluate the performances and error levels of different perception solutions, while minimizing the manual annotations. With this tool, it will be possible to lead benchmark studies on different solutions based on common criteria. The development of this tool is split into two main parts: the automated production of reference data and the evaluation method of the tested perception solutions

Повний текст джерелаThe places where we live are being digitally enriched to the point where we are travelling through augmented territories, and this transformation is bringing us large-scale computing systems - including recommendation systems - which in turn will shape our behaviors. In this kind of setting, contextualized recommendation requires an environment where users feel confident enough to interact and share as much as possible with the system. Agoraa is a start-up that aims to bring users closer to their territories. The platform they have developed does not require users to be exploited in order to gain access to information about their territory, and enables territorial actors to interact with each other. In this CIFRE thesis, conducted within the start-up, I'm exploring some of the possibilities offered by narration to assist recommendations within this augmented territory setting. This has led to the design of the "Personnages Puzzles Personnalisés pour Explications Narrées" (3PEN) framework, which aims to generate narrative explanations in a modular way from user-inspired characters, and to experiments around the "Puzzling models" approach, which builds fictional users with real pieces of history from the system's users

Повний текст джерелаModern data communication systems heavily rely on synchronous transmission techniques to optimize bandwidth and minimize power consumption. In such systems, only the data signal is transmitted, necessitating the implementation of Clock and Data Recovery (CDR) circuits at the receiver end. This thesis explores the novel application of Fully-Depleted Silicon-On-Insulator (FDSOI) 28nm technology to enhance the performance of CDR circuits by mitigating short-channel effects through innovative transistor structures.One contribution of this thesis is the development of a negative resistance circuit using the back gate of the FDSOI transistor. This circuit employs a current mirror controlled by the back gate to create a negative resistance LC oscillator. In parallel, this work presents the implementation of two types of oscillators: a complementary ring oscillator and a fast ring oscillator. The complementary ring oscillator capitalizes on complementary inverters, offering automatic bias feedback by the back gate control, thereby enhancing its performance. Meanwhile, the fast ring oscillator uses fast inverters in combination with complementary inverters designed to minimize propagation delays. The thesis presents a detailed comparative analysis of these oscillators, highlighting their individual strengths and limitations. Furthermore, we introduce an injection signal into the ring oscillator, resulting in the creation of a low-jitter Injection-Locked Oscillator (ILO). This ILO exhibits remarkable performance characteristics, particularly in reducing phase noise and enhancing frequency stability. Taking advantage of the good performance of the ILO, we propose a novel low-cost and low-power Injection-Locked Clock and Data Recovery (ILCDR) with a fast-locking time and good jitter for burst-mode applications.To validate the proposed designs and their performance at different operational frequencies, extensive simulations have been carried out using Cadence Virtuoso at 868 MHz and 2.4 GHz. In addition, the layout design and post layout simulation of the ILCDR based on the complementary ring oscillator are also studied
