Nesta análise, teve-se a preocupação de introduzir as variáveis PIB externo e PIB de Cabo Verde para ajudar a explicar o comportamento das exportações e importações. Estudou-se detalhadamente os aspectos teóricos que envolvem e relacionam o comportamento da taxa de câmbio real e das exportações e importações. A metodologia utilizada é o modelo Vector Autoregressive Model (VAR) em diferenças, com dados anuais compreendidos entre 1983 a 2008.
