Piles in marine environments are subjected to various loads of differing magnitudes and directions, and their long-term stability has attracted much attention. Most research focuses on lateral cyclic loading; there are few full-scale tests that consider the effects of cyclic loading at different inclined angles. Abstract Kant has argued that if there is a categorical imperative of morality, it has the features he ascribes to it in the different formulations of the categorical imperative. He does not claim to have shown thereby that there is a categorical imperative, or that it is a supreme principle of morality, or that it requires the treatment of persons as ends. He still needs to prove both (1) that there is a categorical imperative, giving a reason to all rational agents as such, irrespective of their particular empirical motives and inclinations, and (2) that this is the principle of morality.

Abstract We have seen that not all of Kant’s views on freedom depend on his acceptance of incompatibilism or on the aspects of noumenal causation that involve indeterminism. He is right to claim that his conception of freedom is not the simple compatibilist conception of Hobbes and Hume; he does not identify practical freedom with the causation of our actions by our thoughts and desires. In his view, freedom is independence of non-rational desire in our choice and motivation. The source of this independence is our capacity to act on practical reason apart from non-rational motives.

Impacts on the performance of Machine Learning (ML) models can be observed if these issues are not properly addressed prior to the analysis. Jeg viser også at de vitenskapshistoriske og biograske opplysningene oftest er mytiske eller feilaktige, og ikke bygger på de mange studier av paradigmeskifter som er publisert etter Kuhns historiske vending. Dermed gir boka heller ikke historisk grunnlag for sin påstand om at forskere som kommer med noe genuint nytt, som regel utsettes for sterkt sosialt press og utstøtelse.
