The artificial cells contained leucine dehydrogenase, glucose dehydrogenase and Dextran-NAD$ sp+.$ These were packed in a column bioreactor to achieve continuous conversion of ammonia into L-valine with simultaneous regeneration of Dextran-NADH. Factors affecting bioconversion of phenylalanine to 2-phenylethyl acetate by Pihica fermentans L-5 cultivated at 30℃and 200 rpm were also investigated. The fatality rate of SARS coronavirus infection is rather high, estimated to be 10%. We found the phenylalanine derivatives possessed good inhibitory activities. The compound prepared from 2-chloro-4-nitroaniline, L-phenylalanine, and 4-(dimethylamino)benzoic acid is the most potent inhibitor, showing an IC50 of 0.06 μM.
