Topic of this thesis is a retail network and its development in the Czech Republic. Ahold Czech Republic, Inc. Operating hypermarkets Albert was chosen as a subjekt of study. Hypermarket study is applied on is in city of Hradec Kralove and analyzed area is Hradec Kralove county. The work consists of several parts. The first part is theoretical background, where characterization of the concept that are Essentials for the understanding of the topic is being described. Described terms are such as trade, retail trade, retail stores, hypermarket. Another section is devoted to the developmental stages of retail trade in the Czech Republic, as the name of work states. The third part focuses on Ahold Czech Republic Inc., competing chaos such as Kaufland Czech Republic and Tesco Stores CR, and also on the subjekt of this thesis hypermarket in Hradec Kralove. In this charter there is a comparsion of individual chaos as well as description of strenghts and weaknesses, price analysis is being applied, comparison of cash registers, hadnling times and services of individual hypermarkets are included as well. Another part is the iscussion of the results, where comments on individual analyzes are being applied. The thesis also includes a surfy and proposals for action. The last part is the conclusion that closes my thesis.

The dissertation, that is called The buying preference of customers in large retail facilities (hypermarket, discount store, supermarket, etc.) compared to buying in small retail stores is dealing with consumers and customers preferences in retail stores. The dissertation is divided into two parts. The first part is a theoretical part and the second one is practical part. The theoretical part is based on knowledge gained from non-fiction literature and other relevant sources of information. It provides an overview of the retail and its subcomponents as known as retail activity, types of the retail stores, customers and consumers. The practical part clarifies particular customers and consumers preferences of buying in retail stores. Findings about the preferences were gained by a survey that was executed. They are expressed by words and by graphs for better understanding. On the basis of the findings are statistically evaluated hypothesis concerning to purchase behavior of Czech customers and consumers. In the very end of the dissertation are suggested recommendations that should lead retail stores to gain more and more new customers.

The main objective of the thesis is to deal with business strategy of a small company operating on retail trade market. First of all, retail trade as such is defined and its classification according to Czech Statistical Office is presented. In addition to this, important economic indicators of big vs. small retail enterprises in Czech Republic are confronted. The thesis also describes retail companies' business structure and lists examples of the biggest retail vendors and alliances on the Czech market. The other part of the thesis is concerned particularly with such companies and alliances, focusing on their business strategy. Finally, in the main part of the thesis, the strategy of big companies and alliances is faced with a strategy of a small retail outlet, which forms part of the international retail chain called SPAR. Basic facts about this retail outlet and description of its business strategy are completed by a research regarding the customers' satisfaction with the outlet.

The goal of this graduation thesis is to analyze the retail network related to food products in the city Klatovy and to evaluate whether the number of the retail units is appropriate for this area. Assess whether the number of retail units corresponds to the number of the population and the optimal area for Klatovy. The first part is focused on the different concepts and describes methods regional analysis. In the second part there is described the history and sights of the city Klatovy. The Lean concept arises from Toyota Production Syste (TPS). Then, the concept of leanness includes Value, Waste and Continuous Improvement. An organization with high level of leanness creates higher value to customers with lower level of waste within a continuous improvement environment. Although, the use of ethnography is new in Lean management, it opens new possibilities to understand the behavior of the people about the organizational leanness.

This diploma thesis is devoted to the evaluation of the meaning and role of shopping centers in retail sales in the Czech Republic, using analysis performed. The SWOT analysis was carried out in order to identify strengths and weaknesses of selected shopping centers and to define their opportunities and threats. Further, some of financial indicators of given studied shopping centers were calculated and the resulting data were compared to each other in the monitored time period. On the basis of these results, it was evaluated a possible impact of the effectiveness of the law of corporations to shopping centers. In the next part, two retail format focused on food sale were compared based on financial indicators. The first format is represented by hypermarkets located in shopping centers and the second one by smaller retail units. The last section describes evaluation of questionnaire focused on consumer behavior of customers during food purchase and their preferences in choice a retail format.

Diploma thesis "Problems in functioning of the Retail Sector on the EU Single Market" analyses the possibility to solve on the European Union level problems, which prevent the retail sector from realizing its full potential on the single market. In the main part of the thesis the key retail sector problems are named, as they were identified by the European Commission in its retail sector monitoring. These problems are then discussed in the second chapter by assessing their relevance in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The third chapter analyses attitude towards problems' solution from the perspective of retail trade actors -- retail operators, suppliers, consumers, employees and national authorities. Based on the analysis of situation in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia and based on the analysis of retail actors' positions, the retail problems in the EU are categorized according to the possibility to solve them on the EU level.

Theme of this thesis is utilization of ERP system MS Dynamics AX 2009 in retail environment. Its main goal is to create analysis that will evaluate suitability of MS Dynamics AX implementation in retail business. This goal is realized by achieving three steps. First step is introduction and analysis of retail business processes. This includes introduction of general process in theory followed by description of typical needs and requirements of retail enterprise. Second step is analysis of functionality offered by MS Dynamics AX and identification of its deficiencies in terms of usability in retail. Third step is creation of solution proposal for requirements that are not covered by MS Dynamics AX functionality. Contribution of this thesis is introduction of common needs and requirements of retail enterprise in chosen business segment. Also practical demonstration of how are key business processes supported by MS Dynamics AX. At last added value is also in creating a solution proposal, which will solve identified deficiencies by means of program customization. Structure of thesis is based on key business processes of retail and it's divided to theoretical and practical part. Chapters of each part are sorted into order of product life cycle, which is purchase, logistics and sales. Practical part also deals with product management.

The goal of this diploma thesis is to assess the economic efficiency of the investment consisting in the opening of the new franchise retail network stores, specially Tesco Franchise Stores CR s.r.o. The thesis consists of two main parts - the theoretical part and the analytical part. The theoretical part describes the basic concepts which are related to the investment activities and the methods used to evaluate the investment plans. The ending part of the thesis describes the retail environment and the principles of franchising. The beginning of the analytical parts deals with the strategic analysis and description of the franchise model of the company Tesco Franchise Stores CR s.r.o. In addition, the analytical part focus on a specific investment plan, which is further specified and predicts the expected revenues and costs based and the information obtained from strategic analysis and the financial statements of the company. This diploma project deals with the current economic situation in European Union market and subsequently in the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Sweden. The analysis of the above mentioned countries was chosen due to the different conditions in doing business and approach to social and economic issues. The main purpose of this project is to find out the conditions for doing business in these three chosen countries. Following questions should be answered: "Is it beneficial to settle business during the financial crisis? Which of the chosen countries has the most optimal conditions for businessmen?" The first part of the diploma project deals with approach of the European Union to small and medium companies and describes the programs which serve as a support for business. In subsequent parts of the diploma project there are exact information for businessmen about above mentioned countries (tax rates, conditions for employees, availability of business establishment and related fees). In the last part of the diploma project there is a particular business plan describing the establishment of the fashion shop for ladies with detailed calculation of costs. Based on the analysis it is possible to classify expediency of this kind of business in capitals of the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Sweden considering domestic conditions, rental costs, other operating costs and real revenues which can be reached in this tough time.

The aim of the thesis is to describe the Czech retail industry and the practice used in the category management. The work compares and evaluates the current state of the ice-cream category management in different retail chains and recommends changes for the next ice-cream season for one of the retailers. The description of the retail industry and the introduction set the background for the thesis and the explanation of the continuous category management provides the framework for the analysis. The empirical part conducts the category planning step by step. The key parts are category assessment and category scorecard, which benchmark different stores in terms of assortment, display, price, and promo. Finally recommendations and conclusions are derived from the analysis to improve the category performance.

Abstract: The aim of the work is to evaluate six different projects of the expansion of the company Tesco through opening new stores and choosing the best option on the general level. Shops differ from each other by their size (express, supermarket, hypermarket) and by the way of obtaining the required area (lease, building an own store). The whole thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part describes the development of the Czech retail market with food since 1996, when Tesco entered the Czech market. Methodology part describes different methods of evaluating investments. Practical part compare above mentioned projects with each other by using the methods described in the methodological part. The thesis found as the most suitable way of expansion the express format store, realized more likely by the option of lease than building a new store. However author mentioned that decision, if it is better to open the store in the leased place or built an own store significantly depends on specific terms of the project and it is not possible clearly decide on the general level. The thesis was written on the base of data provided for the purposes of this work by Tesco Stores ČR plc.

This part is followed by analysis of past and present development of market of private labels in the Czech republic. Based on this statement it is proposed own consumer research. Research is focused on students behaviour. The final part is summary of research and recommendation for retail practise.

This diploma thesis is dealing with the Czech retail market and an influence of foreign direct investment on it. The thesis is divided into five parts. First two chapters are focused on the theoretical definition of the foreign direct investment, trade as well and the tendencies in the international business in the 21st century. Third and fourth chapters are dealing with the inflow of the foreign direct investment into Czech Republic or with the status of the trade in the Czech economy. Fifth part is devoted to the Czech retail market -- its performance and evolution since 1989. In this chapter is also exercised comparison of the foreign and domestic enterprises in their productivity and performance.

The thesis was suggested and assigned by Tesco Stores CR. The idea behind is to find out whether supporting local producers can bring a competitive advantage to an involved retailer on the Czech retail market. It is focused primarily on fresh food categories which seem to be the most suitable for local sourcing prefernce. The thesis also considers the relationship between quality-origin-customer expectation. The practical part includes two researches-one studies marketing tools used by retailers present on Czech market in order to promote local producers. The other one provides Czech food producers' opinion on retailers controlling Czech retail market.

Zara is one of the most successful and fastest growing retail apparel company in the world. This retail chain is regarded as a pioneer of fast fashion companies whose main feature is quick response to new fashion trends, launching several collections a year and continuous assortment refreshing. Zara has entered the Czech Republic in 2001. On the local market the company presents itself as a premium brand whereas in Western Europe Zara is seen as a middle class brand. The company Zara Česká republika operates only six stores and its sales, compared with the largest clothing chains operating on the Czech market, are rather low. The diploma thesis has two main objectives. One goal is to describe and analyse the business model of the retail chain Zara as many experts believe that the company's business model is the reason of its tremendous success. The second major goal of this thesis is to determine how Czech women perceive the retail chain Zara in comparison with other apparel chains operating on the Czech market and to verify the hypothesis that the Czech female consumers are not satisfied with quality-price ratio of goods offered by chain Zara. The secondary objective of the thesis is to characterize the apparel business and to explain the concept of fast fashion.

This master thesis focuses on the proposal of the improvement of communication in a particular company -- company of the authorized vendor of Husqvarna products in Prešov. In the theoretical part of this master thesis the marketing communication is characterized as a part of a marketing mix. Furthermore, the singular forms of marketing communication and their specifications in this market area are described. In conclusion of the theoretical part the use and procedure of the SOSTAC method is explained. The main focus and goal of the practical part is the proposal for the optimalization of the present communication in the company. In the practical part of the master thesis, a personal on the field experiment was used. On the basis of this experiment due to the method of SOSTAC specific steps for the optimalization of the communication in this company were assembled.

Domestic trade in the centrally planned economy, has been confronted with the lack of inputs and outputs, which did not allow to fully respond to the increasing demand of the population. In this thesis is elaborated the development of this area, especially by the historical, critical analysis and descriptive method, whose goal is to take down the development of domestic trade in the context of the economic development of preferred industries. The thesis is divided into two main chapters, that resolves issues chronologically starting with 1948 to the 80s, then the period of the 80s themselves is watched, which is the most emphasised one, together with concretization on district Mělník. The first chapter deals with theory, the second is practical part. The result shows the development of the domestic trade delayed and forced by the economic situation. Shortages in the supply of the residents, together with other factors, have enforced economic reforms leading to the inclusion of the market elements. However, the success of the measures taken was minimal.

The dissertation thesis deals with the problem of relevant volume of natural shrinkage and accidental losses of retail stock quota calculation. In frame of the dissertation thesis, factors affecting an extent of accidental shortage of inventories in retail business are investigated here. Then, possible approaches to a calculation of relevant volume of such a quota are recognized as well. By its scope, the dissertation thesis reacts on a problem that exists within the income taxes law since 1995, but any conceptual solution of this problem is still missing. This current problem that is felt especially in retail business is right the problem of relevant volume of a quota of natural shrinkage and accidental loses calculation. The dissertation thesis is based on wide research that has been done in both, in retail businesses and on the side of tax administration too. On the basis of this research’s outcomes, the main factors affecting an extent of accidental losses of retail stock have been determined. Then these factors and evaluation of their influence became construction elements of two mathematic models for the calculation of relevant volume of a quota of natural shrinkage and accidental losses of inventories in retail business. These models are the model that is based on the statistic method of multiple regression and the model based on the fuzzy logic, respectively on the fuzzy mathematics. For the conclusion of the dissertation thesis, both models are discussed from the point of their relevance as well as from the view of their practical application. Theoretical and practical contributions of the dissertation thesis are also concluded here along with an outline of possible future research in this area.

This diploma thesis studies potential coherence between customer satisfaction and economic results of retail chains. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part important terms connected with satisfaction, customers, trade and retail are defined. In the practical part can be found questionnaire research results and revenues of each retail chain. Questionnaires which were focused on customer satisfaction are evaluated by pivot tables and the results are displayed in graphs. The thesis disposes of retail chains revenues from years 2012, 2013 and 2014. The main aim of this diploma thesis is to find out if there is a possible coherence between customer satisfaction and revenues of concrete retail chains. This possible coherence is investigated by correlative coefficient. Based on the results of this thesis suggestions for improvement of concrete retail chains are made.

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of FMCG (fast-moving-consumer-goods) shopping behavior and the retail chain positioning. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the correspondence of the shopping behavior and the retail chain positioning for given retail chains. The analysis of shopping behavior is based on the questionnaire based on the representative sample of 4000 respondents. The shopping behavior is described with regard to seven segments defined by the Incoma GfK research agency. Two methods of shopping behavior are described in the thesis. The first one is the method based on the personally defined sorting rules created according to several questions selected from the questionnaire, and the second one that is based on the factor and cluster analysis. The self-created evaluating scale has been used to evaluate an influence of selected questions to segments viewed. In a similar way, the retail chains positionings have been determined based on the available data (opening hours , price level, provided services etc.). The correspondence of individual retail chain positioning and shopping behavior is evaluated in the conclusion.

The aim of this master thesis ,Logistics and SCM in retail ' is to introduce modern supply chain management (SCM) and logistics approaches and technologies used by multinational retail companies through the example of the TESCO company, while focusing on the UK and Czech retail market. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical section describes logistics and SCM with focus on retail markets. The first three chapters introduce the basic SCM concepts, current trends and challenges in retail logistics and identify the key areas of interest of a retail supply chain. The analytical part explores the systematic steps undertaken by TESCO that helped the company gain a competitive advantage on the markets. It begins by outlining the activities of transnational TESCO PLC, which should provide the reader with basic information about the company, its vision and strategy.
