Based on the combination of modal analysis technology and finite element method (FEM), the modal parameters identification of the main parts of a diesel engine (crankshaft ,connecting rod and oil pan) were tested using hammer beat method and calculated by means of I-DEAS software. The natural frequency and shake mode parameters of the parts were identified. The results could provide basis for structure dynamic analysis and control of noise of the diesel engine.

Bearingless rotor system design optimizes mechanical simplicity, eliminates frictional losses typical of conventional bearing systems, and improves the overall efficiency of the rotor system. Based on the findings of the research, it is possible to determine that composite materials can be applied in order to improve the performance of the rotorcraft rotor system.A theoretical analysis of the influence of input parameters on the aerodynamic quality of the main rotor of a rotorcraft was carried out. The strength and aerodynamic quality of the designed parts were calculated using the finite element analysis method. The energy efficiency of the use of composite materials is substantiated, which will ensure better efficiency and competitiveness of the aircraft.

Introduction. The establishment of a smart tourism model is indispensable for the effectiveness of tourism development and management supported by advances in information and communication technology. The successful implementation of smart tourism is determined by the smart tourism model. Determination of the main components has a significant role in building an effective model. The purpose of this study, to determine the main components forming a smart tourism model using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). PCA is used to compress variables by reducing the number of dimensions, without losing much information. Method This research method is a quantitative method using SPSS software version 22. Result. The result obtained 9 main components, namely stakeholders, infrastructure, goals, resources, activities, challenges, innovation in various applications, strategies, and use of information and communication technologies. Conclusion. Those main components are expected to construct a smart tourism model with components that are comprehensive, interrelated, and adaptable.

Целью настоящей работы выступает анализ состояния российского агрокомплекса в начале XXI в. - в период экономических санкций и падения промышленного производства, этими санкциями вызванного. Чтобы определить вектор развития российского Агропрома, а вместе с ним и социального развития российского села, авторы обращаются к истории русского села в XIX-XX вв., к фактам непростых отношений между традиционным крестьянским миром и индустриальной цивилизацией, промышленным городом. Для достижения целей исследования авторами используется метод ретроспективного анализа источников, анализируются данные статистики, сопоставляются свидетельства экономистов, политических деятелей, социологов и историков, занимающихся вопросами сельского хозяйства. В результате проведенной работы авторами было установлено, что предкризисные и кризисные явления периода политических реформ 1990-х гг. и сегодня в нач. XXI в. российским Агропромом до конца не преодолены, хотя задача продовольственной безопасности поставлена руководством страны. В основной части работы авторы выявили компоненты продовольственной безопасности и раскрыли их содержание. Статья имеет теоретическую и практическую значимость. Она будет интересна всем тем, кого волнуют проблемы современного отечественного Агропрома и российского села. The purpose of this work is to analyze the state of the Russian agricultural sector at the beginning of the XXI century. - during the period of economic sanctions and a drop in industrial production caused by these sanctions. To determine the vector of development of the Russian agroindustry, and with it the social development of the Russian countryside, the author turns to the history of the Russian countryside in the 19th20th centuries, to the facts of the uneasy relationship between the traditional peasant world and industrial civilization. To achieve the objectives of the study, the authors use the method of retrospective analysis of sources, analyze statistical data, compare the evidence of economists, politicians, sociologists and historians dealing with agricultural issues. As a result of the work done, the author found that the pre-crisis and crisis phenomena of the period of political reforms in the 1990s. have not been completely overcome by the Russian Agroindustry, although the task of food security was set by the country's leadership. The author identified the components of food security and revealed their content. The article is of theoretical and practical importance. It will be of interest to all those who are concerned about the problems of the modern Russian Agroindustry.

This article presents the methodology and results of scientists conducted by the Department of Automation and Non-Destructive Testing Systems (ASNK) KPI. Igor Sikorsky and PJSC “RPA “Kyiv Automatic Plant”(KZA) experimental studies of the main components of the stabilizer of light armored vehicles (LAV). The purpose of experimental research is to measure on each of the motors of the stabilization system (SS) EDM20M, EDM02, EDM20 electromagnetic (τEL. MAGN.) And electromechanical time constants (τEL. MEX). Testing of engines according to the assessment of τEL. MAGN. were carried out as part of an automated instrument system for measuring mechanical quantities and stabilization and in an autonomous workplace for testing engines. When testing as part of the SS in the winding of the braked EDM20M (EDM02, EDM20) voltages were supplied from the amplifier of the engine control unit (ECU) level 27V. The feed time was limited to 20ms due to the use of technological time relay (TR) in the signal input circuit “SIGN. PWM “of the amplifier of the engine control unit. Simultaneously with the supply of this voltage, oscillography was performed: the voltage applied to the motor windings (to use this parameter as a reference) and the output voltage of the current sensor (UCS) of the ECU amplifier, which informs about the current in the winding. The current values were recalculated only for the maximum UCS values. The UCS oscillogram (increasing exponent) determined the time constant of the exponent, which corresponds to the electromagnetic time constant of the motor (excluding errors introduced by the inductances of the ECU chokes and power supply). When tested according to the autonomous scheme, the estimate τEL. MAGN. the engine was carried out according to the method, which is similar to the test method in the SS with the following differences: the voltage in the motor winding (hereinafter UPW) was applied at 2.4 V for ~ 25 ms; in the scheme of autonomous tests of engines the source of tension of a direct current B5-21, the switch 831140A 27B, technological R.Ch. to measure the EDM current consumed, a 75 mV × 50A shunt was installed in series in the motor winding. According to the results of experiments, the following main technical characteristics are established. Electromagnetic time constants are: 0.7 ms – for EDM20M; 0.7 ms – for EDM02; 0.85 ms – for EDM20. Electromechanical time constants are: 20 ms – for EDM20M; 24 ms – for EDM02; 26 ms – for EDM20.

Barley spent grain, the main residue of the brewing industry, is a lignocellulosic material, which could be considered a potential raw material for ethanol production. In this work, spent grains generated in a microbrewery were fractionated by acid hydrolysis and delignification. The investigated sort of barley spent grains had high carbohydrate content, accounting for 60% of the dry matter, while its lignin content was lower than that reported for other sorts of spent grains. Since the used spent grains contained residual starch different treatment approaches were used for separating their main components without affecting the sugars generated by starch hydrolysis. Two kinds of acid hydrolysis processes, namely single-step and two-step hydrolysis, were used for solubilising the carbohydrate fraction. Single-step hydrolysis was performed either at 100oC or at 121oC. In the two-step approach, a second hydrolysis, at 121oC, was performed after the first hydrolysis step. The dilute-acid hydrolysis at 100oC removed all the starch, whereas the hydrolysis at 121oC removed also a part of the hemicelluloses in addition to starch. During the second hydrolysis step, the content of easily hydrolysable polysaccharides decreased from 32.5 to 7.6% in the material pre-hydrolyzed at 100oC and from 20.3 to 10.6% in the material pre-hydrolyzed at 121oC. The amount of easily hydrolysable polysaccharides removed in the second step corresponded to 83% and 81.5% of the total removed matter in the materials pre-hydrolyzed at 100 and 121oC, respectively. In the next step, acetosolv and alkaline delignification, either alone or combined with acid hydrolysis, were used for dissolving the lignin fraction. A higher solubilisation occurred after alkaline delignification, where 83% of the initial material was removed. Only 34% of the initial lignin was removed by direct acetosolv, while the combined acid hydrolysis/acetosolv approach resulted in lignin removal between 70 and 75%. However, the resulted pulp still contained important amount of lignin. The acid prehydrolysis was also beneficial for alkaline delignification, but the effect was less noticeable than for acetosolv. Lignin removal increased from 95% in direct alkaline delignification to nearly 100% in the acid hydrolysis-assisted alkaline treatment. Two different methods were carried out for lignin precipitation. In the liquid fraction obtained by acetosolv, lignin was precipitated by water addition after concentration of the liquors to 75% of the initial volume. Although the visual inspection of the liquors after water addition revealed a relatively good lignin precipitation, the separation by filtration of the precipitated material was difficult, apparently due to the small particle size of precipitated lignin molecules. Some improvement was observed for the combined treatments, especially for those including two-step acid hydrolysis. The best recovery, 54% of the precipitated lignin, occurred for the process including consecutive acid hydrolyses at 100 and then at 121oC before acetosolv. In the alkaline liquors, lignin was precipitated by pH adjustment to 2.0 by HCl. Around 40.5% of the solubilised lignin was precipitated, and it increased to 85-100% when combined treatments were applied. The best results were achieved upon the treatment including acid prehydrolysis at 121oC before alkaline process.

Abstract This study utilizes “Al-Wardat’s method for analysing binary and multiple stellar systems” to estimate a set of parameters for the binary system Hip70868. The method compares the system’s observational magnitudes, color indices, and spectral energy distribution (SED) and synthetic SEDs generated through atmospheric modeling of each component. Feedback-adjusted parameters and an iterative approach were employed to achieve the best fit between observational (including the latest measurements of Gaia, release DR3) and synthetic spectral energy distributions. The findings were completed using the distance of 71.89 pc given by Hipparcos 2007’s new reduction. The individual components’ parameters for the system were derived afterward. The parameters obtained for the individual components are as follows: Component A has an effective temperature (Teff) of 6072 ± 50 K, a surface gravity (log ga) of 4.50 ± 0.05, and a radius (Ra) of 1.40 ± 0.07 $${\text{R}}_{\odot}$$ R ⊙ . Component B has a (Teff) of 5887 ± 50 K, a (log gb) of 4.40 ± 0.05, and a radius (Rb) of 1.326 ± 0.07 $${\text{R}}_{\odot}$$ R ⊙ . The spectral types of the components were found to be F9 IV and G1 IV, respectively. The findings from this analysis were utilized to accurately position the two system components on the Hertzsprung-Russell (H-R) diagram and the evolutionary tracks. The analysis shows that the components have transitioned from the main sequence to the sub-giant stage of their evolution.

AbstractLeadership has been considerate as a competitive advantage for organizations, contributing to their success and effective and efficient performance. Motivation, on the other hand, is assumed as a basic competence of leadership. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to know the perceptions of bank employees on the main motivational factors in the organizational context. Data analysis was performed based on several statistical methods, among which the Categorical Principal Component Analysis (CatPCA) and some agglomerative hierarchical clustering algorithms from VL (V for Validity, L for Linkage) parametrical family, applied to the items that aim to assess the aspects most valued by bankers in the work context. The CatPCA allowed to extract four principal components which explain almost 70% of the total data variance. The dendrograms provided by the hierarchical clustering algorithms over the same data, exhibit four main branches, which are associated with different main motivational factors. Moreover, CatPCA and clustering results show an important correspondence concerning the main motivations in this sector.

AbstractFatigue lifetime prediction due to dynamic crack growth is a significant issue for design and manufacture of engineering components. Damage accumulation in a material on the micro-scale is a main physical mechanism governing crack initiation. For high-cycle fatigue, the number of loading cycles leading to catastrophic fatigue failure can be of the order of millions. The simulation of such processes would be extremely expensive and time-consuming using conventional single time scale methods. In order to overcome this challenging requirement, a wavelet-transformation based multi-time scaling method is successfully adopted in this research to accelerate the prediction of accumulated damage for a large number loading cycles. In this work, the WATMUS technique is coupled with gradient- enhanced damage and the extended finite element method to simulate dynamic crack propagation for a turbine blade.

AbstractExperiments that compare rhythmic properties across different genetic alterations and entrainment conditions underlie some of the most important breakthroughs in circadian biology. A robust estimation of the rhythmic properties of the circadian signals goes hand in hand with these discoveries. Widely applied traditional signal analysis methods such as fitting cosine functions or Fourier transformations rely on the assumption that oscillation periods do not change over time. However, novel high-resolution recording techniques have shown that, most commonly, circadian signals exhibit time-dependent changes of periods and amplitudes which cannot be captured with the traditional approaches. In this chapter we introduce a method to determine time-dependent properties of oscillatory signals, using the novel open-source Python-based Biological Oscillations Analysis Toolkit (pyBOAT). We show with examples how to detect rhythms, compute and interpret high-resolution time-dependent spectral results, analyze the main oscillatory component, and to subsequently determine these main components’ time-dependent instantaneous period, amplitude, and phase. We introduce step-by-step how such an analysis can be done by means of the easy-to-use point-and-click graphical user interface (GUI) provided by pyBOAT or executed within a Python programming environment. Concepts are explained using simulated signals as well as experimentally obtained time series.

AbstractRobotic arms are increasingly being used as an automation tool in non-standardized fabrication and construction, while the mechanical characteristics can also impact the accomplishment or the accuracy of the components. Timber is regularly used in different scales of a non-standard free-form structure fabricated by the robotic arm. The anisotropic mechanical characteristics of timber constrain the structural morphology. Developing a method of determining the morphology that meets the technical restrictions of the robotic arm and the material properties of timber is the aim of this research. In this paper, taking Centre Pompidou-Metz as a geometric case, glue-laminated timber as the main construction material, LSTM is applied for predicting the shape of the element. The geometric data is transformed into the fabrication data to testify to the kinematic singularities. The limitation of the workspace is derived from the Monte-Carlo method based on the DH model of the robotic arm. The experimental results show that the proposed method is effective in predicting the curves that match the characteristics of timber materials and robotic fabrication constraints.

Method Engineering has emerged in response to the need to adapt methods to better fit the needs of the development task at hand. It aims at providing techniques for retrieving reusable method components, adapting and assembling these together to form the new method. The paper provides a survey of the main results obtained for the two issues of defining and assembling components. Given the amplitude of the results obtained, the paper concludes that the research community has reached considerable maturity. It argues thereafter that the full power of method components can be widely exploited by moving to the notion of method services and briefly outlines a possible approach towards MaaS, Method as a Service.

Rotorcraft structural methodology has traditionally relied upon the use of three sources of conservatism for design and fatigue substantiation of rotorcraft dynamic components: fatigue strength, flight loads, and the aircraft usage spectrum. In contrast to the thousands of engineering hours typically spent quantifying component strength and loads through full scale laboratory and flight testing, definition of the usage spectrum has traditionally relied on legacy specifications, pilot surveys, and rotorcraft original equipment manufacturer (OEM) historical knowledge of rotorcraft usage. Significant and largely untapped value lies in the application of HUMS recorded flight parameter data and regime recognition (RR) algorithms to monitor fleet wide usage metrics and to support development of a data driven usage spectrum that maintains the intended conservatism of the original usage spectrum. This paper presents the methods and tools that were used to determine actual fleet usage rates for one very significant and easy to detect damaging regime for the S-92® main rotor blade using 700,000 flight hours of S-92® rotorcraft fleet HUMS data. The calculated retirement time (CRT) based on this updated usage demonstrated that the main rotor blade can be safely extended from a retirement time of 22,000 to &gt;30,000 hours.

Current Rotorcraft Developments like under the Future Vertical Lift Program in the USA (e.g. Bell V-280, see figure 1) respectively RACER (Airbus Helicopters, see figure 2) and NextGENCivil Tiltrotor (Leonardo, see figure 3) in Europe deal with High-Speed Rotorcraft or Tiltrotor-/Tiltwing Aircraft. They can expand and optimize their performance by using a variable rotor speed either to adopt the rotor speed to high forward speed or to meet the different requirements of a rotor in Hover and Aircraft Mode of a Tiltrotor-/Tiltwing Aircraft. As the required speed range can not be covered by the turbine, TU Munich (Germany), TU Wien (Vienna, Austria), ADT - Advanced Drivetrain Technologies (Austria) and Zoerkler Gears (Austria) work in the transnational project "VARI-SPEED II" on a rotor system that can change the rotor speed via change of the ratio of the transmission (variable rotor speed with constant turbine speed). The project is based on the results of "VARI-SPEED" and the direct follow-up project. VARI-SPEED showed that a rotor speed variation performed by a transmission system is possible. The efficiency and the flight envelope of the rotorcraft can be improved by this technology. Furthermore, a method for rotor blade design in a RPM range was invented. VARI-SPEED II now has built up a model of the complete dynamic system from engine to rotor of a helicopter with a variable speed rotor. This model is used for dynamic simulations of the components and the whole system. A scaled model of the module that changes the speed will be developed and pilot studies in a simulator are planned to find out the characteristics of such a system. Aim of the project is to reach TRL 3 as basis for further development of the technology with interested OEM's. This paper deals with the dynamic behaviour of the components and the whole drive train. The Bell V-280 is in the flight testing phase, RACER has recently conducted its maiden sortie and for the NextGENCtr the first flight is announced for the first half of 2024. All mentioned aircraft use transmission systems with a fixed gearbox ratio; this is feasible as a new technology like Vari-Speed normally is not added to completely new rotorcraft. However as the OEM's rate Vari-Speed positive, variable rotor speed can be integrated in a later development stage of the rotorcraft and thus development timelines of the rotorcrafts and Vari-Speed match quite well.

Layout of human machine interface (HMI) plays a very important role in the information transmission between the complex operating and monitoring system and operators. HMI layout of main control room can obviously affect the safety and efficiency of power plant. The unreasonable layout of HMI may influence operators’ judgment and operation under emergency condition, resulting in huge accidents. But up until now, it is difficult to make a all-sided and reasonable layout method for the components of HMI in main control room. For many factors can influence the layout result of HMI, such as importance and usage frequency of each component, which would be changed along with the operation procedure and condition. In this paper, six layout principles of ergonomics are used in the layout process of a computer-aided layout method. Optimizing function is constructed and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used in calculation the components weight in layout process. Then, genetic algorithm is used to optimize the layout method. In order to illustrate how the computer-aided layout method is conducted, an example of HMI layout of a power plant is provided.

The paper presents a method for the design of rubber components for automotive applications. The design of a rubber component is complex due to the dependence of its behavior not only on the geometry but also on the non-linear, frequency dependent characteristics of the material. A finite element (FE) model able to estimate stiffness, stress and filtering characteristics of the component is presented. The rubber is modeled by a non-linear model whose parameters are estimated from experimental tests. The dynamic behavior is described by means of storage and dissipation moduli given as function of the excitation frequency. The design of the component, which is a bushing to be fitted on a front double wishbone suspension, is accomplished by changing the main geometrical parameters while choosing between three different rubber types. Geometrical and material parameters are varied inside the FE model by an automatic procedure. The optimal set is derived by means of a multi-objective genetic algorithm. The proposed procedure allows to define the geometric dimensions of the component along with the most suitable material among a given set.

Cluster analysis of the efficiency of the recreational forest use of the region by separate components of the recreational forest use potential is provided in the article. The main stages of the cluster analysis of the recreational forest use level based on the predetermined components were determined. Among the agglomerative methods of cluster analysis, intended for grouping and combining the objects of study, it is common to distinguish the three most common types: the hierarchical method or the method of tree clustering; the K-means Clustering Method and the two-step aggregation method. For the correct selection of clusters, a comparative analysis of several methods was performed: arithmetic mean ranks, hierarchical methods followed by dendrogram construction, K- means method, which refers to reference methods, in which the number of groups is specified by the user. The cluster analysis of forestries by twenty analytical grounds was not proved by analysis of variance, so the re-clustering of certain objects was carried out according to the nine most significant analytical features. As a result, the forestry was clustered into four clusters. The conducted cluster analysis with the use of different methods allows us to state that their combination helps to select reasonable groupings, clearly illustrate the clustering procedure and rank the obtained forestry clusters.

The scientific and methodological background of creation and development of the distance learning courses for the future music teachers is substantiated. The components and structure of future music teachers’ instrumental performance competence are defined; the content of the course is revealed. The materials are based on the authors’ teaching experience within the distance learning course “Basic Musical Instrument (Piano)”. The main blocks of the distance course design and development are considered among them to be theoretical, practical, individual work, and control blocks. The specificity of distance learning methods in the future music teachers’ instrumental and performance training is substantiated and three main methods are distinguished. The method of involving information and communication technologies, including multimedia; project method, and features of knowledge and skills controlling are elaborated. The results of implementation and experimental research of using distance learning courses for developing future music teachers’ instrumental performance competence are described. The influence of different methods use on students’ success is explored.

The article examines the main features, general characteristics and essence of the concept of solutions journalism. The basic principles of functioning of this model of journalism in the western press and in Ukraine are given. The list and features of activity of the organizations, institutes and editorial offices supporting development of journalism of solutions journalism. The purpose of the publication is to describe the Solutions Journalism model: its features, characteristics and features of functioning, to find out the difference in the understanding of the concept of «solutions journalism» and «constructive journalism» in general. The task of the publication was to conceptualize the main trends in the development of solutions journalism in the Western and Ukrainian information space; show the main characteristics, formats of functioning and analyze the features of the concepts of «solutions journalism» and «constructive journalism». Applied research methods: at the stage of research of the history of formation of the concept of Solutions Journalism the historical method is used. The hermeneutic method of research helped in the interpretation of basic concepts, the phenomenological approach was applied in the context of considering the essence of the phenomenon of solutions journalism. At the stage of generalization of the features of the concepts of Solutions Journalism and «constructive journalism» a comparative method was used, which gave an understanding of the common components in their essence. The method of analysis allowed to expand the understanding of the purpose of Solutions Journalism as a type of social journalism and its main tasks. With the help of synthesis it was possible to comprehensively understand the concept of Solutions Journalism and understand its features. In Ukraine, this type of journalism is just emerging, but its introduction into the editorial policy of the media may have a national importance. These are regional and local media that can inform their communities about the positive solution of certain problems in other communities, and thus thanks to this model can save local journalism. In the scientific context, there is a need to outline the main differences in the understanding of the concepts of decision journalism and constructive journalism, to understand the socio-psychological need to create good news.

The main purpose of the research was to examine approaches and to evaluate methods for minimizing the risks during applying treated domestic wastewater for agricultural irrigation. This general purpose consisted of examining under field conditions the possibilities when implementing different application technologies for minimizing health and environmental risks. It was assumed that Subsurface Drip Irrigation (SDI) will provide adequate conditions for safe effluent reuse. Controlled field experiments where conducted in commercial fields to evaluate the alternatives. Main efforts where conducted in Israel in the grape vineyard in Arad heights, in the field crops in Kibbutz Chafets Chaim and in Arizona in fields adjacent to the University campus. The complementary part was to examine the behavior of the various pathogens in the effluent-soil-plant system. The analysis is based on controlled experiments, primarily in greenhouse along with field experiments. Molecular biology methods were used to identify the behavior of the pathogens in the components of the system. The project included as well examining the effluent quality in various sites, primarily those in which treated wastewater is reused for agricultural irrigation. The monitoring included conventional parameters however, also parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. The results obtained indicate the prominent advantages of using Subsurface Drip Irrigation (SDI) method for minimizing health and environmental risks during application of secondary effluent. A theoretical model for assessing the risks while applying treated wastewater was completed as well. The management model shows the risks during various scenarios of wastewater quality, application technology and related human exposure.

The main aim of the current bulletin is to provide modern and up-to-date information on the possible falsification/adulteration of the essential oil (EO) of damask rose (Rosa × damascena Mill.) flowers by synthetic and natural components. The EO, rose water (hydrosol), concrete (produced by extracting fresh rose blossoms with hexane), and absolute (the ethanol extract of rose concrete) are the main products of the damask rose. This bulletin may serve as a guide for quality control personnel, the international herbal products, cosmetic, perfumery, food, and EO industries, and the extended natural products community in general. It is also intended to present a summary of the scientific data and methods on the occurrence of species substitution, adulteration, the market situation, and economic and safety consequences for the consumer and the industry.

Ontology repair remains one of the main bottlenecks for the development of ontologies for practical use. Many automated methods have been developed for suggesting potential repairs, but ultimately human intervention is required for selecting the adequate one, and the human expert might be overwhelmed by the amount of information delivered to her. We propose a decomposition of ontologies into smaller components that can be repaired in parallel. We show the utility of our approach for ontology repair, provide algorithms for computing this decomposition through standard reasoning, and study the complexity of several associated problems.

This report documents the development of an integrated hydrodynamic and ecological model to test assumptions about island resilience. Swan Island, a 25-acre island in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, was used as a case study. An interagency, interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers came together in a series of workshops to develop a simplified resilience model to examine the ability of islands to reduce waves and erosion and the impacts to nearby habitats and shorelines. This report describes the model development process and the results from this first key step: model conceptualization. The final conceptual model identifies four main components: vegetative biomass, island elevation, waves/currents, and sediment supply. These components interact to form and support specific habitat types occurring on the island: coastal dunes, high marsh, low marsh, and submerged aquatic vegetation. The pre-and post-construction field data, coupled with hydrodynamic ecological models, will provide predictive capabilities of island resilience and evaluations of accrued benefits for future island creation and restoration projects. The process and methods described can be applied to island projects in a variety of regions and geographic scales.

The article is a reference to a scientific publication by Mykola Tymoshyk, Professor and Head of the Department of Journalism at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, who raised a number of topical issues in the field of national journalism studies. The purpose of this review is to examine the main points of this article through the prism of my teaching (primarily lecturing) and journalistic experience. Using the method of content analysis, the article discusses the controversial issues related to the concept of «journalism genre», distinguishes the strengths of the researcher’s main theses on the theory and practice of genres. The article points out the valuable aspects of Prof. Tymoshyk’s article for researchers of journalistic genres, especially with regard to the grouping of genres in the works of foreign authors (European and American schools of journalism). These groupings are supplemented by the vision of German authors - researchers of media genres. In this article the author uses the historical method to examine the current works of Ukrainian media scholars on the issue of the main groups of genres. The author discusses with Prof. M. Tymoshyk on the subject of presence of some genres in the media of our information space and the expediency of their consideration in the studies of media researchers. Attention is paid to the advantages of this publication in relation to the following issues: the ambiguity of journalistic investigation from the point of view of journalism theory, the expediency of using the concept of «hybrid genres» in scientific texts of media researchers. The conclusion about necessity of further research on the issues of genre creation in journalism, especially in the context of the current war is made. The researcher’s thesis about the importance of not theoretical «new products» in the form of new names of genres as forms of journalistic presentation, but the substantiation of their varieties within the existing genres of national journalism is accepted.
