Повний текст джерелаNowadays, the problem of physical inactivity is one of the major global issues and it is considered by the WHO and the UN as the leading cause of mortality due to non-communicable diseases. At the same time, although the physical exercise has proven to be the best way to fight against these sicknesses, most of the consumers evoke a series of barriers against the adoption of regular exercise. The purpose of this thesis is to propose alternative approaches based on the concept of perceived value in marketing which has proven to be a good tool to motivate and retain consumers in the frame of other types of goods and services. We focused on the sources of consumer perceived value in personalized marketing, community marketing and experiential marketing, the aspects of which were integrated in a combinatorial approach, the aim of this method being to propose the concept of the exercise composite variable as a trade-off between costs and benefits. We confirmed that the perceived values of the different composites of the practice of exercise combined to form the overall perceived value of the exercise. In addition, we also confirmed that this overall perceived value of the exercise ultimately influenced the consumer’s intent to practice regular exercise and to recommend it.The results of this research allowed us to suggest that the offer of exercise should be made as à la carte menu in order to facilitate consumers’ decision-making process and so to motivate and to retain them

Повний текст джерелаAccording to projections by the World Health Organization (WHO), it is estimated that by 2050, more than 22% of the global population will be aged 60 years or older. This demographic shift is accompanied by a growing prevalence of chronic diseases. In France, one in four individuals currently suffers from a chronic condition, a proportion that rises to three out of four among those aged 65 and above. These diseases significantly contribute to mortality, accounting for 74% of total deaths in 2019. Fortunately, many of these conditions can be prevented or delayed by adhering to the physical activity recommendations provided by the WHO. Extensive research has demonstrated the profound impact of physical activity on prolonging lifespan and enhancing overall quality of life across populations. With this perspective in mind, the research objectives of this study lie within the realm of Prognosis Health Management (PHM) and prescription sports, with a specific emphasis on the healthcare trajectory of patients with chronic conditions. However, the precise methodology for control, particularly the feedback mechanism pertaining to individuals' behavior during physical activity, remains to be delineated. To tackle this challenge, the project proposes the implementation of a connected medical device, specifically an electric-assisted bicycle integrated with embedded artificial intelligence. This combination aims to collect data and contribute to the prevention of chronic pathologies for individuals. The primary scientific endeavor entails designing and integrating an innovative and adaptable hardware and software architecture, incorporating state-of-the-art sensors that utilize flexible technology. This framework facilitates the monitoring of both occasional and experienced cyclists during their practice, enabling intelligent control of the level of electrical assistance and the implementation of medical instructions based on prior medical assessments

This report presents a personalized exercise training chatbot for individual users based on data collected from the Internet of Things (IoT), particularly wearable fitness devices. The chatbot is designed with our goal of motivating users to exercise more by discussing exercise statistics with the user, such as whether their daily steps have increased, decreased, or remained steady. In this work I first survey a few examples of how increased interest in fitness and the promotion of healthy lifestyles is driving demand for personalized artificial intelligence, wear- able computing, and ubiquitous computing applications. Next, I describe the design of a data-driven ”personal trainer” chatbot. I then develop a prototype persuasion system based on interactive dialogs delivered via a front-end application, that collects data from wearable equipment using back-end data loggers that I instrumented as a mobile application. Finally, I describe the process of deploying and demonstrating this prototype along with technical challenges and early findings. The overall system consists of (1) the back-end Coach agent, an Android application that collects data from all wearable instruments, and (2) the front-end Me agent, which initiates and continues conversations with the user using notifications that are in turn based on data from the Coach agent. This data-driven ensemble reminds the user to exercise and also gives the user a chance to provide feedback via human/agent interactive dialogs. In this project, I used only one wearable device, the MI Band 2, and get real-time steps and weekly step aggregates from it. The human/agent dialogues are deployed via the Slack groupware platform. Google Sheets is used as a web service for updating and exchanging data.

Regular sleep could restore personal physical exertion, and reorganize the human cognition and memory. People treat sleep-related issues seriously in modern society. Home-based sleep recording are more convenient and cheaper than sleep disorder diagnoses in the hospital. Also, daytime activities will affect sleep quality. This thesis focuses on home-based sleep and activity recording. Exercise is an important factor that affects sleep. Proper exercise could improve sleep quality. Improper exercise may cause negative impact in sleep. This research aims at following problems: (1) the interactions between sleep and daytime exercise are complicated; (2) most wearable devices could not provide actuate sleep recording data; (3) personal health data exchange and integration. This theses proposed a cross-device sleep efficiency evaluation mechanism, and implemented an exercise prescription service. The exercise prescription service is based on a sleep diary testbed - HSS (Health Sleep Space). This research extends HSS with wearable devices and daytime exercise diary. Users realize their sleep quality easily from the Sleep Quotient (SQ). The exercise prescription provides exercise suggestion to user. Following the suggestion, user could improve their sleep efficiency.

Because the social structure began to change to ageing society in mid-21st century, the elderly populations increase which leading to the type of disease changing and changing the need and high cost in medicine. Therefore, long-term care for seniors and health care will be devoting more budgets and effort, the telecare is an important policy for government especially. The telecare promote the core which combines of medical services, care services, life and well-being of scientific and technological development, science and technology, in order to construct the comprehensive care services. Therefore, by leading in the information and communications technology, developing friendly user interface to drive by telecare, home care, personal health records, sports care, and medical electronic products and physiological monitoring of information support services. The services which provided in the exercise care system are the most abundant and complete in hospital. Through the complete equipment which be applied to the detection of heart and lung disease, exercise rehabilitation treatment and tracking of the establishment of the exercise prescription. However, the exercise care system which provided by hospital exist limit on the time and space, which cannot be applied in daily life. In order to achieve comprehensive exercise care, in many previous studies, fitness brands and medical equipment companies, the introduction of related products such as the pedometers, heart rate monitors, blood glucose, pulse oximeter and other telecare system. The products provide the user to carry at any time to break the limitations of time and space, and the precise physiological data to avoid the difference between subjective and objective assessment of the user's own physical condition in exercise, there are many studies which combine physiological information and the smartphone to design of telecare system. However, this functional information of products mostly use single physiological signal to provide a single service to users, so it is difficult to directly applied to the exercise care-related services. The purpose of this research is aimed to develop a personalized seamless exercise care system by integrating smart handheld devices which not are limited on the time and space, using the smartphone to integrate physiological signal and activity recognition to design personalized exercise care alert system, providing users to understand the sports safety with cardiopulmonary care. Using this study is to assess the feasibility of exercise care system.

Повний текст джерелаThe current curricular internship report results as an integral and conclusive part of the master’s degree in Exercise and Health from the Faculty of Human Kinetics. The internship was held during the season of 2018/2019, taking place at the Complexo Desportivo da Ajuda (CDA), in the Ajuda University Campus, city of Lisbon. The work developed during the internship focused on the consolidation and improvement of knowledge, in the context of supervised practice (exercise room and group classes) to develop skills of a practicing professional and health. Physical inactivity is a major social problem. At the same time, the demand for gyms has been increasing to face physical inactivity, improve quality of life, or for aesthetic and personal reasons. Thus, this report aims at showing the importance of exercise-oriented practice and at emphasizing the role of the exercise instructor and personal trainer in increasing motivation and personal accomplishment. For the Personal Trainer to be able to assume such a role he needs to acquire prior knowledge, have the opportunity to apply this knowledge and then reflect on the effectiveness of his intervention. Therefore, the present report also portrays the work done throughout the internship as a contextual element contributing to the development of new learnings, skills and knowledge to complete a Master in Exercise and Health, from a conceptual and professional point of view.
