The Neotropical genus Russelliana (Psyllidae: Aphalaroidinae) is revised and its phylogenetic, host-plant and biogeographical relationships are discussed. Twenty-four species are described as new, bringing the number of known species to 43. An identification key is provided for the adults. Microbial ecological systems of Myzus cerasi F., Eriosoma ulmi L., Hyalopterus pruni L. in territory of the Saratov region was studied. 30 bacteria species belonging to 15 genera was revealed. Curtobacterium flacumfaciens, Erwinia carotovora and Erwinia rhapontici causing diseases of plants were among them. Quantity characteristic and occurrence of all taken bacterium species were shown. We describe the isolation and development of 14 polymorphic microsatellite loci for the critically endangered plant-louse Trioza barrettae (Hemiptera : Triozidae). The loci were tested in 25 individuals from a single population situated in the south-west of Western Australia. No evidence of linkage disequilibrium was detected between any pair of loci. However, eight loci showed significant departures from Hardy–Weinberg expectations. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 2 to 27.

Adults, larvae and the damage on the host are described and illustrated. Adults differ from other congeners in the absence of genal processes and in the structure of the genitalia. The host of L. calycophylli is unusual for psylloids: rubiacious hosts are otherwise known only from the four members of the Palaearctic Trioza galii Förster group and the Taiwanese Synpsylla wendlandiae Yang.
