This paper presents data on the new location of the moss Ptilium crista-castrensis (Hedw.) De Not, which is listed in the Red Data Book of the Samara Region on the territory of the nature reserve Racheyskie Rocks in the Syzran district. 10 of its coenopopulation loci have been identified and the exact geographic coordinates are given. For the first time the exact coordinates of 11 coenopopulation loci are also named for the holarctic mountain-forest relict fern Polypodium vulgare L., which is also protected at the regional level, both of these species have a mosaic structure of coenopopulation

The first record of Polypodium from Gozo (Maltese Islands) was described as a new endemic taxon, Polypodium vulgare subsp. melitense, based on its unique set of morphological characters. It was treated as a novelty and designated as a subspecies of P. vulgare mainly due to the lack of paraphyses, the presence of 10–16 annular cells, and a mean spore length of 64 μm. In this paper Silene graefferi Guss. is recommended for the first time as a promising source of flavonoids and is a well-known producer of ecdysteroids. This perennial species is adapted to the conditions of Western Siberia and has been successfully cultivated in the Siberian Botanical garden of TSU since 2015. ABSTRACT Polypodium lepidopteris is a terrestrial fern from coastal vegetation, and is used as medicinal. This work analyzed the effects of pH, temperature and light levels on the spore germination and the relative growth rate (RGR) of young sporophytes. Fertile fronds were collected in Florianópolis, SC, Brazil. The effect of pH (4.0 to 6.7) on spore germinability was observed in a growing room at 25 ± 2ºC (22 mmol m-2s-1) under a 16h photoperiod. No statistical differences between treatments were found. The effect of different temperatures on the germinability was analyzed (20, 25 and 30ºC).

Hairy root cultures are being considered as promising system for producing valuable second metabolites. These genetically transformed root cultures are characterized by high growth rate, genetic stability and growth in hormone free media.
