Dentro del orden Perciformes, una de las familias más diversificadas es Sciaenidae, en que los peces que allí se incluyen se caracterizan por sus grandes otolitos y, con pocas excepciones, por una prolongada línea lateral que penetra en la aleta caudal, canales sobre la cabeza y poros en el morro y en la mandíbula inferior. В работе дается общая характеристика рыболовства в исключительной экономической зоне (ИЭЗ) Анголы и его эволюции начиная с 1960 г. Описываются особенности организации промысла в период работы там флота СССР и затем – становления национального рыболовства. Анотація:

Adult specimens of the Sordid Thicklip, Plectorhinchus sordidus, the Olive Grunt, Pomadasys olivaceus, and the Lined Grunt, Pomadasys punctulatus, were captured by gillnet off the coast of Fao City, Basrah, Iraq in March 2012 by commercial fishery activities using a small trawler. These are new records for the marine waters of Iraq, and, for the latter two species, new records for the entire Arabian Gulf region. We document the appearance and morphometrics of the specimens from Iraq.
