Some people don’t like reading abstract because it’s too boring and unattractive. But if you are a beginner at shooting or have learned shooting for while but lack of progress, you’ll find this report useful. Professional opinions from experts, related literature, and empirical experience are all included in the study and it helps you develop shooting knowledge and also make progress in shooting performance. By sharing the successfully experience and skills, it is hoped that readers could become excellent shooters in the future. For the view point of competitive sport development, there is one common characteristic in modern competitive sport training- to explore the potential of athletes through various scientific ways to the direction of ultimate sport performance. Therefore, we could see the importance of sport sciences. The foundation of sport techniques lies in power, endurance, speed, flexibility, and coordination. But besides above physiological factors, psychological, technical and tactical factors are also important. These factors decide the future development of an athlete. With the increasing level of modern competitive sport in terms of techniques, more problems regarding to training for athletes are waiting to be resolved. To promote the development of shooting in Taiwan, find the best results for shooting, and develop the basic theoretical system for shooting theory based on previous successful experience, we are striving for the integration of theory and practice objectively, scientifically, systematically and comprehensively. We know it is not easy to have scientific training especially for a discipline which doesn’t require ultimate power but put high demand on psychological stress, we have to be more cautious when trying to reach the balance. Based on the foundation of precious knowledge and previous successful experience, we hope this technical report could help the research development of scientific training in shooting.

This paper aims to provide a complete guide to man 10-meter air rifle shooting, ranging from its rule, the principles of its physical and mental training to the dietary suggestions. We also include the know-how of air rifle’s cleaning and maintenance in order to provide a basic background knowledge for readers. This study is motivated by the observation that the literature in Chinese on 10-meter air rifle shooting is very limited. We first describe the principle and the components of air rifle, the process of the shooting competition, as well as the standard of shooting equipment. We then review the existing methods on shooting training, including those on shooting postures, physical strength and mental stability. We believe that these training methods, combined with our personal pre-competition training plan, will optimize and speed up the learning and training process of air rifle shooting. This paper is full of shooting techniques and its training methods that we learned and discovered in our stay at NationalTaiwanSportUniversity. We hope that this paper will enrich the field of air rifle shooting in Taiwan and benefit the sport students and professional athletes in this field.

The T91 assault rifle’s design is very meticulous and lighter than other models. Today’s training courses are still limited to teaching the techniques listed in textbooks. T91 is the most important training for the ground force in the Ministry of National Defense. Such courses are starting to become more systematic which improves the quality of the drills. However, assault rifle training in general stresses techniques and methods for technique acquisition. However, the psychological aspects of shooting are missing. Therefore, a handbook that deals with the psychological issues of shooting is in need. Shooting in real life is very different than what the training handbook explained. Thus, supplemental materials for training should be designed. Such materials will be used in training courses so that students can familiarize themselves with the shooting postures and enhance their accuracy in order to deal with unexpected scenarios. When such situation occurs, they can handle it according to what is taught in class and decrease the risks. This research is conducted using literature analysis, analyzing the lesson design. This study looks at existing literature on shooting theories, shooting techniques, aiming, breathing, psychological and physical conditions, steps toward shooting and the actual firing. This paper has five sections. The first section will look at the goals, the steps, key points in the training courses. Theories and pictures are included in this section. When the courses are finished, they will be written into lesson plans and send to professionals in the field to be evaluated and discussed. The goal of this study is to make suggestions that can be applied to T91 trainings to fill in the gaps of the existing training design in order to increase the performance of the students. Keywords:assault riffle, shooting courses, the steps toward shooting.

This study investigates the relationship between human interface factors and shooting performance during prone rifle shooting position. The values of six human interface factors related to gun holding and two points of impact were selected for investigation. A T-91 rifle was used to shoot and to obtain relevant data, which were then collected, analyzed, and summarized to construct a shooting performance prediction model (point of impact score prediction model and point of impact distance prediction model) using a back-propagation neural network (BPN). Current operational guides for prone rifle shooting instruct users to press the rifle handle against the shallow of their shoulder and pull the trigger using their index finger, without explaining the precise shoulder position to adopt to support the rifle handle and the accurate finger position for pulling the trigger. The analysis results of the experimental data show that three of the six human interface factors of gun holding significantly influence shooting performance. The findings of this study have been empirically verified. To achieve a good shooting performance, shooters should use the pad of their index finger to pull the trigger, and upper portion of the rifle handle should be pressed against the shallow of their shoulder. The results of this study can serve as a reference for adjusting gun-holding postures to improve various aspects of shooting performance. The shooting performance prediction models established in this study provide predictability, regardless of whether they applied to specific shooters or to shooters in general. Therefore, this study can be used to be the doctrine when teaching rifle shooting in prone position.
