<p> The stellar halo that surrounds our Galaxy contains clues to understanding galaxy formation, cosmology, stellar evolution, and the nature of dark matter. Gravitationally disrupted dwarf galaxies form tidal streams, which roughly trace orbits through the Galactic halo. Along transects and within boxplots, several ponds have experienced significant changes in macrophyte species composition since 1995, while others have remained relatively unchanged. In 2020 new occurrences of Phragmites australis (common reed) were documented in Duck (a single plant, which was immediately removed), Gull, and Higgins ponds. Three state-listed rare species that occur in CACO kettle ponds were not found in 2020.
