Анотація:
In the context of social welfare austerity and non-state actors’ interventions into social life, an urban not-for-profit organization in the United States, Back on My Feet, uses the practice of running to engage those recovering from homelessness. Promoting messages of self-sufficiency, the organization centralizes the body as a site of investment and transformation. Doing so calls to the fore the social construction of ‘the homeless body’ and ‘the running body’. Within this ethnographic inquiry, participants in recovery who ran with the organization constructed moralized senses of self in relation to volunteers, organizers, and those who do not run, while in recovery. Their experiences compel consideration of how bodily constructions and practices reproduce morally underpinned, self-oriented associations with homeless and neoliberal discourses that obfuscate systemic causes of homelessness, pose challenges for well-intentioned voluntary or development organizations, and service the relief of the state from social responsibility.

The Academy for Educational Development, a nonprofit organization specializing in social change communications, implemented a campaign to reduce nutrient pollution flowing into the Chesapeake Bay from the greater Washington D.C. area. Funded by the Chesapeake Bay Program, the primary campaign goal was to convince area residents not to fertilize their lawns in the spring, when fertilizer runoff is most damaging to the Bay, but to do so in the fall, if at all. For the 16% of residents who hire a lawn service, the goal was to convince them to hire a Bay-friendly partner lawn service. To overcome message fatigue from previous Bay-oriented campaigns and motivate this urban audience with a meaningful connection to the Bay, the campaign message was framed not as an environmental appeal, but as a way to ensure the continued availability of Chesapeake Bay seafood. Television, newspaper, and out-of home ads ran for a seven-week period during March and April 2005. In spite of a small budget, a post-intervention survey showed increased awareness of lawn care behaviors that contribute to Bay pollution, and decreased intent to fertilize in the spring.

Однако персонал, который занимается вопросами управления качеством, зачастую все еще ориентируется на старые задачи. В представленной статье рассмотрены проблемы и инициативы, связанные с управлением качеством услуг в условиях Industry 4.0. The fourth industrial revolution radically changes the organizational culture as well as the structure of relations in organizations. It also leads to changes in the production and implementation of brand new business models including those applied in service quality management due to the transfer of operations to digital format. However, the staff involved in quality management is still oriented at old tasks. We consider the problems and initiatives connected with service quality management under Industry 4.0.

Remote Access Laboratories (RAL) are online platforms for performing experiments from remote locations usually following a centralised service oriented paradigm. This short article presents RALfie - Remote Access Laboratories for Fun, Innovation and Education using a peer-to-peer RAL architecture where some participants or makers can create, host and share experiments for other users. The system is built upon a VPN service that establishes end-to-end connections between learner and makers’ experiential rigs. A graphical programming platform - SNAP is the basis of programming and designing the interface with the experimental rig. The experiments are then shard using an activity-based learning strategy that presents the experiments as a set of hierarchical groups of activities or activities. This distributed design of RAL allows more hands-on experience to build experimental setup and provides opportunities to collaborate with fellow peers. The environment is suitable foe STEM Education. This approach requires the makers among the users to create and host the experiments, which demand certain responsibilities and offers new learning opportunities.

Анотація:
A solid demand to integrate energy consumption and co-generation emerged worldwide, motivated, on one hand, by the need to diversify and enhance energy supply, and, one the other hand, by the pressure to attend to the requirements of a heterogeneous class of users. The coupling between energy service provision and final users also includes balancing user needs, eliminating excesses, and optimizing energy supply while avoiding blackouts. Another motivation is the challenge of having sustainable sources and many adapted to the user ecosystem. Altogether, these motivations lead to more abstract design approaches to co-generation-distributed systems, such as those based on goal-oriented requirements used to model smart grids. This work considers the available design practices and its difficulties in proposing a new method capable of producing a flexible requirement model that could serve for design and maintenance purposes. We suggest coupling the approach based on goal-oriented requirements with model-based engineering to support such a model. The expected result is a sound and flexible requirements model, including a model for the interaction with the final user (now being considered a producer and consumer simultaneously). A case study is presented, wherein a small energy service system in an isolated community in the Amazon rain forest was designed.

To meet the growing demand for mobile data traffic and the stringent requirements for Internet of Things (IoT) applications in emerging cities such as smart cities, healthcare, augmented / virtual reality (AR / VR), fifth-generation assistive technologies generation (5G) Suggest and use on the web. As a major emerging 5G technology and a major driver of the Internet of Things, Multiple Access Edge Computing (MEC), which integrates telecommunications and IT services, provides cloud computing capabilities at the edge of an access network. wireless (RAN). By providing maximum compute and storage resources, MEC can reduce end-user latency. Therefore, in this article we will take a closer look at 5G MEC and the Internet of Things. Analyze the main functions of MEC in 5G and IoT environments. It offers several core technologies that enable the use of MEC in 5G and IoT, such as cloud computing, SDN / NFV, information-oriented networks, virtual machines (VMs) and containers, smart devices, shared networks and computing offload. This article also provides an overview of MEC's ​​role in 5G and IoT, a detailed introduction to MEC-enabled 5G and IoT applications, and future perspectives for MEC integration with 5G and IoT. Additionally, this article will take a closer look at the MEC research challenges and unresolved issues around 5G and the Internet of Things. Finally, we propose a use case that MEC uses to obtain advanced intelligence in IoT scenarios.

Attendance can be said to be a presence data collection that is part of reporting activities that exist within an institution. A company requires a policy, especially the level of employee discipline. Discipline from employees is the main benchmark in seeing employee performance based on his presence in the company. A company must have a staff attendance system that can manage employee attendance based on obligations, prohibitions, and sanctions if an employee's obligations are not obeyed or violated. The problem that often occurs at the Bandung Central Statistics Agency is when employees are assigned to take a business trip, often the employee does not attend first to the office. By applying the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, a method of software development with an object-oriented approach to system development, this method shorten the time in planning, designing, and implementing a system compared to traditional methods. Then the Location Based Service (LBS) method is used to access geographical information services used by users with mobile phone devices through cellular network connections to map locations to determine where the location of the user is. Thus, the existence of this research can help companies and employees in performing their performance without being bothered by pressure of workload.

Sharia financial institutions are financial institutions that not only prioritize profit oriented, but also a financial institution that also puts the public good in accordance with the demands of sharia which is the foundation of all Islamic financial institutions. One application is to implement a moral and spiritual based service. This field research will answer the question. First, how is application of ujrah determination in contract of rahn in BMT UGT Branch Sidogiri Waru Sidoarjo? The second, how is the analysis of the DSN-MUI fatwa NUMBER 25/III /2002 on the determination of ujrah in the contract of rahn in BMT UGT Branch Sidogiri Waru Sidoarjo? Data collection techniques used are interview, document review, and observation, then analyzed by using descriptive analysis method, with deductive thought pattern, that is theory of rahn, ijarah, and fatwa of National Sharia Council (DSN) with general characteristics and then linked with the facts on the ground about the fatwa of DSN-MUI NUMBER 25/III/2002 on the establishment of ujrah in the contract of rahn in BMT UGT Branch Sidogiri Waru Sidoarjo with special characteristics. From the results of the study, the author concludes the application of the determination of ujrah in the covenant of rahn in BMT UGT Branch Sidogiri Waru Sidoarjo, namely the determination of ujrah through two contracts, namely rahn and ijarah contract. The procedures for the implementation of the contract are as follows: Rahin (customer) comes to murtahin (BMT) while delivering marhun (collateral goods) then the goods will be estimated. As a result of this, the rahin will be subject to administrative costs. Then rahin signs the agreement or contract of rahn. After that, to entrust the goods hock, rahin must implement contract of ijarah (contract to rent place). Consequently it arise ujrah. In this case, it means that customer must implement two barrage of contract. The determination of ujrah applied in BMT is not in accordance with the Fatwa DSN-MUI NO: 25/DSN-MUI/ III/2002 because the determination of ujrah is determined from the amount of the customer’s loan, while the difference is the discount given to the customer for applying smaller loan. The determination of discount is determined from ujrah or ijarah fee charged to the customer. This discount is calculated based on the percentage of estimated value of customer’s loan amount

Les réseaux 5G sont envisagés comme un changement de paradigme vers des réseaux orientés services. Dans cette thèse, nous étudions comment combiner efficacement le découpage en tranches et le SD-RAN afin de fournir le niveau requis de flexibilité et de programmabilité dans l'infrastructure RAN pour réaliser des réseaux multi-locataires orientés services. Premièrement, nous concevons une abstraction d'une station de base pour représenter les stations de base logiques et décrire un service de réseau virtualisé. Deuxièmement, nous proposons une nouvelle plateforme SD-RAN conforme aux normes, appelée FlexRIC, sous la forme d'un kit de développement logiciel (SDK). Troisièmement, nous fournissons une conception modulaire pour un cadre d'ordonnancement MAC tenant compte des tranches afin de gérer et de contrôler efficacement les ressources radio dans un environnement multiservice avec un support de qualité de service (QoS). Enfin, nous présentons une couche de virtualisation SD-RAN dynamique basée sur le SDK FlexRIC et le cadre d'ordonnancement MAC pour composer de manière flexible une infrastructure SD-RAN multiservice et fournir une programmabilité pour de multiples contrôleurs SD-RAN
5G networks are envisioned to be a paradigm shift towards service-oriented networks. In this thesis, we investigate how to efficiently combine slicing and SD-RAN to provide the required level of flexibility and programmability in the RAN infrastructure to realize service-oriented multi-tenant networks. First, we devise an abstraction of a base station to represent logical base stations and describe a virtualized network service. Second, we propose a novel standard-compliant SD-RAN platform, named FlexRIC, in the form of a software development kit (SDK). Third, we provide a modular design for a slice-aware MAC scheduling framework to efficiently manage and control the radio resources in a multi-service environment with quality-of-service (QoS) support. Finally, we present a dynamic SD-RAN virtualization layer based on the FlexRIC SDK and MAC scheduling framework to flexibly compose a multi-service SD-RAN infrastructure and provide programmability for multiple SD-RAN controllers

Анотація:
Change is an integral part of any software system. Predicting the impact of making changes through techniques of change impact analysis helps engineers identify and analyze those parts of the system that will be potentially affected by requested change(s). This chapter presents a semi-automated approach to (a) compute likelihood of impacted functions in a system through identification and analysis of functional dependencies between them and (b) assist software engineers in selective regression testing. This technique first classifies the impact set data into two categories based on their type of impact propagation. Next it performs prioritization on classified data to rank functions into higher and lower levels according to the degree of impact they will make. This prediction will help in lowering maintenance cost and effort of software engineers. Thus, a software engineer can first run those test cases which cover segments with higher impacted priority to minimize regression test selection.

In this chapter, the authors propose a Cloud service ranking system, named CloudRank, based on both the user feedback and service testing. In CloudRank, we design a new ranking-oriented collaborative filtering (CF) approach named WSRank, in which user preferences are modeled as personal rankings derived from user QoS ratings on services to address service quality predication problem. Different from the existing similar approaches, WSRank firstly presents a QoS model which allows users to express their preferences flexibly while providing combination of multiple QoS properties to give an overall rating to a service. Secondly, it measures the similarity among users based on the correlation of their rankings of services rather than the rating values. Nevertheless, it is neither accurate nor sufficient to rank Cloud services merely based on users’ feedbacks, as there are many problems such as cold-start problem, absence of user feedback, even some service faults occurred in a service workflow, so to get an accurate ranking, an active service QoS testing and fault location approach is required together with WSRank. Therefore, in CloudRank, the authors also designed an automated testing prototype named WSTester to collect real QoS information of services. WSTester integrates distributed computers to construct a virtual testing environment for Web service testing and deploys test tasks onto distributed computers efficiently.

DemaWare is a Service-Oriented platform that aids in the timely assessment and monitoring of people with dementia in an Ambient Assisted Living context. This work presents in detail the underlying modules integrated in DemaWare, providing both software and hardware services. The system coordinates the retrieval of raw sensor data from a variety of sources, such as ambient and wearable sensors, and their processing into a common knowledge base. The semantic interpretation performed afterwards reasons upon collected knowledge and infers higher level observations. Finally, all knowledge is presented in suitable end-user applications that support various scenarios, e.g. lab assessment trials and monitoring in nursing home environments.

An attempt in implementing on-demand, QoS supported Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) routing algorithms has taken new dimensions. Delivering information in time to achieve reliability across vehicles (nodes) is still being a challenge among the VANET research groups. An effort to develop a QoS adaptive routing schemes using soft computing techniques is made in this research work. SADVA – An adaptive fuzzy based QoS service oriented approach for VANET is presented in this paper. The performance of SADVA is compared with AODV (Perkins, Royer, & Das, 2003), GV-GRID (Li, & Yu, 2007), DSR (Johnson, Maltz, & Hu, 2004), FSR (Gerla, 2002), DYMO (Chakeres, & Perkins, 2006), REDEM (Prabhakar, Sivanandham, & Arunkumar, 2011b), and QARS (Prabhakar et al, 2011a). SADVA employs fuzzy logic system to determine the vehicle's speed over an effective time period for different types of service in use between multiple VANET nodes to engage or cooperate in communication. This chapter focuses on designing and developing QoS aware routing protocol for multi-hop VANET. Metrics such as number of packets received per second, percentage of packet loss and time for route establishment are used to analyse the network situation. Simulation test runs are carried out using Two Ray Ground propagation model where vehicular traffic is generated according to a Poisson process.

Big Data Analytics is a major branch of data science where the huge amount raw data is processed to get insight for relevant business processes. Integration of big data, its analytics along with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is need of the hour, such integration shall render reusability and scalability to various business processes. This chapter explains the concept of Big Data and Big Data Analytics at its implementation level. The Chapter further describes Hadoop and its technologies which are one of the popular frameworks for Big Data Analytics and envisage integrating SOA with relevant case studies. The chapter demonstrates the SOA integration with Big Data through, two case studies of two different scenarios are incorporated that integrates real world implementation with theory and enables better understanding of the industrial level processes and practices.

Анотація:
This paper analyze techniques to implement QoS/QoE on multi-tenant 5G networks. Describes the ar- chitecture of the next generation mobile network based on cloud-enabled small cell deployments and also proposes an hybrid-cloud solution coexisting with centralized cloud RAN(C-RAN), in order to achieve a gradual implementation of the technology. In this context, the work here presented deals with the challenges of preserving the quality of ex- perience in a multi-tenant cloud enable RAN bearing in mind the Key Performance Indicator(KPI) agreed in the SLA. To achieve this goal, QoS should be managed at different levels of the architecture. Feedback should be given between learning modules in order to analyze the results and infer enhanced decision rules which may conclude in an architecture replacement.

This work presents the results of ongoing investigations aimed at determining the influence of crystallographic texture, microtexture and mesotexture on hydrogen induced cracking (HIC) in low carbon pipeline steels. HIC samples of two steels were investigated using X-ray diffraction texture measurement and Orientation Imaging Microscopy (OIM™). The first steel is a low strength API 5L X46 retired from service and the second is a low sulfur ASTM A106 steel. The results of this work confirm the feasibility of improving the HIC resistance of pipeline steels through crystallographic texture control and grain boundary engineering. Controlled rolling schedules can be proposed in order to induce a crystallographic texture dominated by the {112}//ND, {111}//ND and {011}//ND fibres. Such a texture is expected to decrease significantly the steel susceptibility to HIC by: (i) reducing the number of available transgranular and intergranular low resistance cleavage paths provided by the {001}//ND oriented grains, (ii) reducing the probability of crack coalescence and stepwise HIC propagation and (iii) increasing the number of high resistance intergranular crack paths provided by coincidence site lattice (CSL) and low angle boundaries with the lowest possible energy.

Failure analysis performed on SA-335, Grade P1, Carbon-1/2Molybdenum (P1) steel pipe confirmed that failure in cold-formed bends was due to graphitization, but revealed that the graphite had developed in the affected material in a manner that has received little attention in the technical literature. In particular, the graphite developed in arrays of small micro-nodules preferentially concentrated within grain boundaries that were oriented normal to the hoop stress. The failure in question occurred after approximately 275,000 hours of operation at an average operating temperature of approximately 830F. Because of the preferential alignment of the graphitization, the material toughness in the tangential (hoop) direction was significantly degraded. While there is ample documentation of graphitization in P1 material after prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures, the observed morphology of volumetric grain boundary graphitization is very unusual. In response to this unique form of graphitization, cryo-cracking, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction were carried out to confirm that the small nodular “particles” within the grain boundaries were in fact graphite and not some other type of material contamination. Mechanical tests were also performed to assess the degree of material degradation, and the results have been compared to the damage levels observed in metallographic samples using a five-level damage ranking system developed for the purpose of surveying the multiple bends involved in the study. Many of the same factors that in previous studies have been identified as important influences on the formation of graphite in steel were observed in the samples examined as part of this failure analysis. These included the original steel making practice (i.e., high levels of aluminum), the original forming process (i.e., cold bending), and the service conditions (i.e., time and temperature).

The article problematizes the possibility of replicating unique scientific and educational innovations in the institutional space of Russian society on the example of referring to the creative biography of Lyudmila Glebovna Borisova and her scientific sociological school. The methodology is based on the concept of the diversity of the transition to modernity by S. Eisenstadt; the method of researching scientific schools in the context of the relationship between the structure of science itself and the social problems of society, of which scientific institutions are a part; generational approach, biographical method and smart grid research method. The empirical base of the research is based on the documents of Lyudmila Glebovna Borisova from the Open Archive of the SB RAS: 10 office documentation, materials of personal origin, scientific publications. The key milestones in the biography of L.G. Borisova in the context of the institutional transformations of science and education of the late USSR, the development of the Novosibirsk Scientific Center (NSC); the history of the formation of sociological schools in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok is shown, the features of one of them, the school of sociology of education, are revealed. The characteristic of a special, selfless type of the Russian scientist is given. The history of the successes and failures of Lyudmila Glebovna Borisova is shown against the background of social changes in society and its institutions. In the context of the late USSR, the development of the scientific school of the sociology of education was influenced by the personality of L.G. Borisova, an ascetic scientist who underwent primary professional socialization in a pedagogical team with an ethos-oriented orientation, containing the ideas of humanism, the unity of word and deed, public service, and equality of interests between the elders and the younger. This ethos she conveyed in relationships with students and colleagues. The new stage of reforms significantly reduced the autonomy of professional communities of scientists and teachers, narrowed the base for recruiting scientific personnel in science and pedagogy, and increased the alienation of professionals from decision-making. In the changed conditions, her departure was irreparable for the scientific school.
