Анотація:
The most important characteristics of the processes efficiency in aircraft equipment technical operation are the operational reliability characteristics. High reliability of aviation equipment is the main condition for its readiness, efficiency and safety.
 The aircraft equipment reliability is its ability to perform specified functions, maintaining during some time the values of the established flight and technical and operational indicators within the specified limits, which correspond to the specified modes and conditions of use, maintenance, repair, storage and transportation.
 Despite the quick scientific and technological progress in aviation, the problem of flights safety has become extremely acute in the present time. Empirical data statistical processing is an urgent task in monitoring of the Ukrainian Armed Forces aircrafts operation and determining trends in maintenance and repair, areas of modernization of armaments and military equipment.
 The subject of the work is the analysis and system approach based on the developed estimation technique of aviation equipment reliability indicators. The results of determined helicopters and their functional systems reliability are presented. The trend and the main reasons for the change in reliability indicators for 2016-2019 are determined.
 The main purpose of reliability analysis is to determine the causal relationships between quantitative and qualitative reliability indicators and the level of flight safety that lead to aviation accidents.
 Statistical information in the form of fault records and reports, where the generalized operational data are sent by the State aviation units according to the methodical recommendations.
 Indicators analysis of operational reliability and flights safety for helicopters according to statistical data of failures, damages and incidents is done. Moreover, the trend and the main reasons for the helicopters reliability indicators changes for the period 2016-2019 are defined.
 The results of research are presented in the final tables, which show the average values of operational reliability, flight safety and the level of combat flight task for different types of helicopters in all specialties.
 The causes of malfunctions that affect the level of operational reliability, flight safety and non-fulfillment of the flight task on helicopters for the period 2015-2019 were taken into account.
 According to the statistics analysis of the malfunctions reported causes , it is determined that the total number of reported malfunctions on different types of helicopters in 2019 increased by 11.0% compared to 2018, compared to 2017 by 43.7%, compared to 2016 by 58.4%, compared to 2015 by 70.0%.

The need to assess the technological systems for biogas production is due to the need to determine their operational, technological, technical, economic and design characteristics. The aim of the study is to develop a methodology for assessing the operational indicators of the reliability of equipment for flow-technological lines of biogas plants. The main element of the technological equipment for biogas production, which provides the quantitative and qualitative composition of nutrients in the storage bins of biogas plants, is drum grinders - mixers, the hourly performance of which determines the cycle of the flow-technological line. All other technological operations must be coordinated with the main one in terms of quality indicators, rhythm of work and productivity. To assess the operational and technological characteristics, it is advisable to use productivity, flow rate and reliability. The reliability of flow-technological lines of biogas plants, which is the result of the operation of the entire complex of technological equipment, depends not only on the reliability indicators of these machines and their interaction processes, but also on the number and type of their connections. A comprehensive indicator of the reliability of a biogas production line is the availability factor. The main methods of increasing the reliability of biogas plant lines are: reducing the total amount of equipment in the technological line; use of equipment with higher reliability; unloaded and loaded redundancy of less reliable equipment; creation of multi-section systems. It has been established that the organizational and technological reliability of stream biogas production processes is ensured by choosing a rational structure and quantitative composition, as well as coordinating equipment in bioenergy complexes and technological lines according to basic parameters, taking into account their statistical features.

Subject. The article considers the development of a digital decision-making platform to manage business processes, based on the formation of an integral indicator of rating evaluations of qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the stated problem. Objectives. The aim is to design an algorithm for making managerial decisions on problems arising during the implementation of operational business processes at agricultural enterprises. Methods. We employ methods of analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction, and the statistical analysis. Results. We formulated main problems faced by an agricultural enterprise during the implementation of business processes, developed an information base to analyze and interpret the given problem, carried out rating evaluations of initial information to construct a functional expression of the correspondence of specific weights of declared indicators and their significance in the process of making a specific decision. The paper determines the reliability of final expression of the function as a result of the rating of initial data. Conclusions. The developed platform is aimed at streamlining the management decision-making process, reducing costs and operational efficiency of the management system. The findings will help improve the efficiency and responsiveness of decision-making.

The operational efficiency of measuring equipment (ME) is important in determining the cost of maintaining ME. To characterize the operational efficiency of the ME, an efficiency indicator has been introduced, an increase of which will reduce costs caused by the release of defective products due to the use of ME with unreliable indications. Over time, the ME parameters change under the influence of external factors and the ME aging processes inevitably occur, as a result of which the parameters of the ME metrological service system change. Therefore, in the general case, the parameters of the metrological maintenance system of ME should be considered as random variables. Accordingly, the efficiency indicator of measuring instruments is also a random variable, for the determination of which it is advisable to apply the methods of mathematical statistics and computer simulation. The performance indicator depends on the parameters of the metrological maintenance ME system, such as the calibration interval, the time spent by the ME on metrological maintenance, and the likelihood of ME failure-free operation. As a random variable, the efficiency indicator has a certain distribution function. To determine the distribution function of the efficiency indicator and the corresponding statistical characteristics, a computer simulation method was used. A study was made of the influence on the indicator of the effectiveness of the parameters of the metrological maintenance system ME (interesting interval, the failure rate of ME). The value of the verification interval and the failure rate of MEs varied over a wide range typical of real production. The time spent by ME on metrological services is considered as a random variable with a normal distribution law. To obtain random numbers with a normal distribution law, the Box-Muller method is used. After modeling, the statistical processing of the obtained results was done. It is shown that in real production, the efficiency indicator has a normal distribution law and the value of the efficiency indicator with an increase in the calibration interval does not practically change.

The article states that a high level of analytical support should be provided during the development of national security policy. Therefore, there is a need to create new conceptual approaches based on the methodology of systems analysis and information technology, including big data. This makes it possible to forecast and make decisions in the field of national security with the help of appropriate indicators and indices.Attention is drawn to the fact that when monitoring national security with the help of indicators, indices and their threshhold values, it is important to monitor the dynamics of processes taking place in different areas of national security, and not by individual events. This approach makes it possible to consider the management of the national security system with the help of threshhold values and indicators as a regulatory activity.Attention is drawn to the fact that traditionally the analysis in the field of national security was based on the data of the security and defense sector. These data concerned the events that had already taken place. However, borrowing external data opens up greater opportunities for moving along the chain of analytical research: from assessing past events to reliably predicting future challenges and threats to national security. Therefore, the process of making strategic decisions using Big Data technology can be organized using the pyramid DIKW. The use of indicators and indicators of national security in the three-level system of national security is considered. The goals and objectives of the strategic, tactical and operational levels are determined by current legislation and the higher (strategic) level.The emphasis is on the fact that Big Data provides additional context by integrating external data to turn data into information. With the help of appropriate doctrines, concepts and strategies, this information can be further improved. Given the differences in the rate of change at all levels of the hierarchy of national security, we can conclude that all levels are responsible for implementing main directions of the state national security policy, although they are based on different national security indicators, their statistical characteristics, expert assessments, thresholds.

The use of new energy-saving technologies has led to the significant development of vibration machine designs and their widespread use. In the course of their operation, the question of efficiency and reliability of the use of this type of machines is rather acute, related to the availability and possibility of using reserves of its operation. Machines of this type must meet the requirements of quality and reliability in order to fulfill their official purpose. Due to the design features and the complexity of the processes occurring during their work, analytical calculations of durability and reliability in the classical version are quite approximate in nature and do not provide the necessary accuracy. So the question of reliability and durability of vibrating equipment is urgent. The questions of reliability estimation of vibrating machines were dealt with by the following scientists: Iskovich-Lototsky RD, Obertyukh R., Sevastyanov IV, Kanarchuk VE, Dzhratratano D.J. etc. The techniques they offer are virtually indistinguishable from those adopted in general engineering. The publication proposes a technique for evaluating efficiency and reliability based on the use of quantitative characteristics of probabilistic and statistical nature. Such indicators for quantifying the reliability and reliability are: probability of failure, failure rate, failure rate, failure time. These indicators are one of the most important in the technical diagnostics of the operation of vibrating machines and the estimation of their residual life. The basic calculation, dependencies, analysis of laws are given.

Introduction. The abolition of public credit institutions in the first half of the 19th century meant that following after the peasant reform, private landowners were forced to rely entirely on their ability to conduct economic activities, they desperately needed the money demanded for the capitalist modernization of their estates. It was important under such circumstances the appearance in the mid-1860s of private land banks that have granted land collateral loans. Materials and Methods. The study of the claimed problem required the involvement of a number of historical and economic methods: historical, statistical and quantitative. At the same time, the question of the amount of debt owed to private land banks was examined on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of statistical data on land credit published by a committee of congresses of representatives of Russian land credit institutions. Results. The article analyzes the main indicators of the activity of the joint-stock land banks in the first two decades of their operation, considers the characteristics of the establishment and development of the private land credit system, the volume of loans issued, the size of the mortgaged land, the amount of the loans are shown by their regional characteristics. Discussion and Conclusions. Set up in mid-nineteenth century the system of equity land credit, which focuses on the granting of land mortgages by private landowners, has played an important role in the processes of land ownership mobilization and the development of capitalism in the agricultural sector. Private credit institutions were one of the most important components of the land credit system, and the activities of these institutions in the territory of the governorate in question resulted in: that almost a quarter of all privately owned land had been deposited in them.

The topic of this paper is analyzing the results of field studies of a tractor with an elastic damping mechanism in a power drive and its operational efficiency assessment in comparison with a serial tractor. The subject of the research is a tractor with an elastic damping mechanism in a power drive as part of a plowing unit with a mounted plow. The purpose of this work is a detailed analysis of the influence of the parameters of the elastic-damping mechanism on the performance of a tractor with a plow. Carrying out such studies makes it possible to obtain new experimental data on the operation of the elastic damping mechanism in-stalled in the power drive of a tractor when aggregated with a plow. The control experiments were carried out in the same field during the summer and autumn peri-ods of one year. The benchmark for comparative experiments was the same tractor, but with a blocked elastic damping mechanism (for brevity, it is called “serial”). The results were processed on a personal computer using a software package. To analyze energy efficiency, a conditional classifi-cation of sample variability based on the coefficient of variation was used. Spectral analysis was performed to study numerical slip data. The indicators of the energy assessment show that the unit with an elastic damping mechanism in the power drive of the tractor has better performance (travel speed, productivity and fuel consump-tion per hectare) than a similar unit with a more rigid transmission. The elastic damping mechanism creates more favorable conditions for the formation of the nature of the load of the nodes, with un-steady and steady-state modes of motion. Statistical analysis of numerical data on slipping showed that the use of the mechanism makes it possible to reduce the mathematical expectation of slipping. Analysis of spectral characteristics indicates that the elastic-damping mechanism absorbs frequen-cies, being a filter when aggregated with various tools. Everything mentioned above indicates a sig-nificant improvement in the characteristics of the unit when using an elastic damping mechanism.

The introduction of methods for timely diagnostics of internal combustion engines allows maintaining the environmental indicators of the car fleet at the highest level. (Research purpose) The research purpose is in increasing the reliability of diagnostics of internal combustion engines by using data obtained by selective sampling of exhaust gases. (Materials and methods) Informational, mathematical and experimental research methods, including methods for statistical processing of results and analysis of data obtained during experiments were used during the study. (Results and discussion) The main systems that affect the environmental performance of internal combustion engines has been identified: the fuel supply system, the ignition system and the exhaust gas neutralization system. The article describes a generalized mathematical model for calculating the characteristics of exhaust gases. Authors conducted operational tests on 35 internal combustion engines with justification of their number according to standard methods. The actual value of diagnostic parameters was processed into relative percentages for drawing a nomogram. A zero value has been set for the reference state of the elements specified by the manufacturer. (Conclusions) It was found that the dominant number of failures accounted for internal combustion engines, in detail: the ignition system produces 15-25 percent of failures, the power system produces 30-44 percent, the exhaust system produces 10-15 percent. It was found that for unambiguous identification of any combination of factors, it is necessary to have output values of at least three evaluation criteria. It was found that the most sensitive parameters for evaluating the technical condition of the three systems are: changes in the engine crankshaft speed, the parameters of exhaust gas toxicity, CO, CO2, CH, O2 when providing test modes (operation of the internal combustion engine on 1 cylinder at 20 and 40 percent of the throttle opening). The article describes designed a gasoline engine loader for the implementation of diagnostic modes and control of diagnostic parameters, that allows to create operating loads with an accuracy of 0.1 percent.

Purpose The increased complexity of global supply chains and its inherent risk requires the re-evaluation of the SCRM discipline as a source of value creation for shareholders. This paper aims to unveil the areas that require more focus considering the point of view of Chinese manufacturers, and following a social constructivist approach oriented to fashion organizations outsourcing to China, unveil the elements driving the point of SCRM strategies. Design/methodology/approach The authors studied the existing body of knowledge related to SCRM and developed a model to quantify the influence of macro and micro risk factors to the different operations performance indicators. This model was used in a survey to 61 Chinese manufacturers of fashion products, while at the same time, an interview to 20 members of the SC group of fashion companies around the globe was conducted to understand the qualitative and quantitative elements shaping their SCRM initiatives. Findings The study shows that, while supply, manufacturing and demand risk remain as the main factors hindering value creation in the industry, the addition of the manufacturer’s perspective proves that other elements that are less evident to the customer, such as macro-social and micro-infrastructure (transportation, financial and information), require more attention. Additionally, it was noted that the influence of the different risk factors is different for the different performance indicators of quality, speed, cost, dependability and flexibility. Finally, it shows that current SCRM programs tend to be simplified methods of trial and error, fed with incomplete KPIs, shaped by the experience and priorities of dominant stakeholders and prompt to potential agency costs and focused on the short term. Research limitations/implications The focus on the fashion industry led to relatively small sample sizes for surveys and interviews. Although some patterns are identified, studies with larger sample sizes could facilitate the statistical analysis of unique characteristics in the different sub-groups. Additionally, the use of cross-sectional research designs that include survey techniques has the limitation of not explaining processes over time. Future reference to this work can be complemented with a new study to unveil the latest priorities. Practical implications This study shows that, to create value, fashion organizations first need to determine the operational elements that create value for them and then focus their limited resources on the risk elements that have proved more influence. The authors offer a systematic framework to measure the risk associated with global outsourcing; it can be used by organizations outsourcing globally to make strategic decisions, including potential outsourcing locations, to allocate resources across categories and to evaluate changes over time. Finally, the interview with SC practitioners shows that, to advance toward its objective of value creation, the SCRM discipline requires cross-collaboration and a holistic approach supported by more systematic processes that can reduce bias and potential agency costs. Originality/value This study offers insights about contemporary factors affecting the value creation function for fashion organizations outsourcing production to China and a more holistic approach vs other studies by including: a wider and more relevant categorization of risk factors, the perspective of Chinese manufacturers and the view of SC practitioners around the world. This study also develops a model to explain the cycle of SCRM in fashion organizations and the most common traps hindering its execution.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between management control systems, total quality management (TQM) and innovation, and also the effects of management control systems in the organizational performance. The research was developed based on a conceptual model designed to analyze these dimensions. The data were obtained through an online questionnaire, sent to small and medium-sized Portuguese companies, having been conducted the study based on responses received from 287 valid questionnaires, and using a multivariate statistical analysis for the statistical development. The findings indicate that non-financial indicators provide innovation strategies of products and processes. However, the financial indicators only provide the innovation strategies of processes. It is also verified that only non-financial indicators provide equally the implementation of TQM practices. The results also show that financial indicators only provide an improvement in the financial results of the organization, while the non-financial indicators also improve its operational performance.

Objective: To determine the most failure-prone rolling stock components and assemblies by processing statistical data obtained during operation using the classical reliability theory; to develop recommendations for maintaining the operational state of individual rolling stock components. Methods: Methods for calculating the quantitative reliability characteristics are used based on the rolling stock operational statistical data. Results: The 5-year operational data have been used to provide tabulated statistics on the failure rate of various rolling stock equipment. Reliability indicators have been calculated for various types of rolling stock equipment and the corresponding graphs have been plotted. Based on the calculations, the recommendations for the rolling stock maintenance have been developed. Practical importance: The calculations and the recommendations described determine the types of rolling stock equipment requiring more attention during maintenance

The purpose of the article is to study the patterns of evaluation of quality indicators of the technological process on a sizeless scale. The quality of production depends on the quality of technological processes, namely - many factors of technological, technical and organizational nature. The technological process is the basis of any production process, is the most important part of it, associated with the processing of raw materials and its transformation into finished products. Product quality is the most important indicator of companies seeking to develop and succeed in competition among other manufacturers. This issue is especially relevant for Ukrainian companies seeking to be competitive in the European and world markets. To manage the quality of the object often have to use statistical methods of evaluation and management, where, as basic information you need to know not the law of distribution of quality in its units, and know the law of distribution of their assessments on a sizeless scale, therefore, research related to determining the patterns of distribution of assessments of quality indicators of the technological process on a sizeless scale. Knowing the law of distribution of unit quality indicators of the object of qualimetry and knowing the dependence with their estimates on a sizeless scale, it is possible to solve practical problems to determine the probability of getting estimates of quality indicators in a given interval. The solution of such problems is relevant in determining the risks of the processes of quality management systems, or determining the reliability of the technological process and other indicators. As a result of the study, the main conditions for the quantity and quality of statistical information were identified. It is shown that the correctness and efficiency of solving practical problems, using statistical methods of quality assessment, is determined by the amount of information about the functioning of the technological process, which can be divided into conservative and operational. Leachate formation is one of the many environmental hazards associated with landfilling. The leachate may migrate from the landfill to surface water and groundwater, posing a potential threat to aquatic ecosystems. Moreover, its harmful effect on human health and life has been proven. Due to the risks that landfill leachates may pose, it is necessary to control the state of the environment in their surroundings. The paper presents an example of the application of selected statistical methods (basic statistics, statistical tests, principal component analysis) to assess the impact of individual pollution indicators on the quality of landfill leachates. The conducted analysis showed the existence of significant differences between the surveyed active (Legnica, Jawor) and non-operational (Wrocław, Bielawa) landfills in Poland. These differences were especially visible in the cases of the following: electric conductivity (EC) (non-operational landfills 1915–5075 μS/cm, active 5093–11,370 μS/cm), concentrations of total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN) (non-operational landfills 0.18–294.5 mg N/dm3, active 167.56–907.4 mg N/dm3), chemical oxygen demand (COD), organic nitrogen (ON), ammonium nitrogen (AN), total solids (TS), total dissolved solids (TDS), total suspended solids (TSS), sulfates, chlorides, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and nickel. Selected indicators should help to determine the progress of decomposition processes inside the landfill and the potential impact of leachate on the environment, and should be used in the mandatory monitoring of landfills.

Изучены особенности обезвоживания бетона, твердеющего в условиях высоких температур и низкой относительной влажности. Установлено, что количественные показатели влагопотерь влияют не только на физико-механические и эксплуатационные показатели, но и на конструктивные особенности гелиоформ, используемых для выдерживания бетонных композитов на комплексных вяжущих, получаемых на основе использования портландцемента и некондиционного природного и техногенного сырья. The paper discusses the basics of heat and mass transfer processes during the curing of concrete in helioforms with a translucent coating. The features of dehydration of concrete hardening under conditions of high temperatures and low relative humidity have been studied. It has been established that the quantitative indicators of moisture loss affect not only the physical, mechanical and operational indicators, but also the design features of the helioforms used to cure concrete composites on complex binders obtained through the use of Portland cement and substandard natural and technogenic raw materials.

Within the framework of the functioning of the quality management system of a textile enterprise, when conducting operational monitoring of technological processes, appropriate automated technical controls are required, built with the use of modern information technologies. In this paper, in order to assess the quality of the carding process in the production of combed or carded yarn, a method is proposed for the digital study of the structural unevenness in the surface density of this type of non-woven material, based on the principle of determining the sectorial and radial characteristics for this quality indicator.

In order to model information dissemination in social networks, a special methodology of sampling statistical data formation has been implemented. The probability distribution laws of various characteristics of personal and group accounts in four social networks are investigated. Stochastic aspects of interrelations between these indicators were analyzed. The classification of groups of social network users is proposed, and their characteristic features and main empirical regularities of mutual transitions are marked. Regression models of forecasting changes in the number of users of the selected groups have been obtained.

In the context of the constant growth of the burden of chronic non-infectious diseases, surveillance needs in supplementing traditional statistical health indicators with criteria characterizing the processes of chronicity of pathology. Aim: to scientifically substantiate and develop statistical characteristics of chronic non-infectious diseases suitable for surveillance in the public health system. Methods used: bibliographic; statistical (for analyzing materials about the health of the population); mathematical (for constructing formulas and indices); calculational (to calculate indicators of pathology chronicity); epidemiological (to assess the chronicity of diseases of different classes). The initial statistical information was the materials of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on mortality, general and primary morbidity of the population for six classes of diseases, which include the most common chronic diseases. The proposed set of indicators, which includes both the indices available in the scientific literature and those developed by us, contains the following characteristics: statistical indicators of official reporting, indicators of pathology chronicity, mortality and survival of the population, and the hazard index of chronic diseases, which can be considered an integrated indicator characterizing chronic diseases. Diversified characteristics of chronic non-infectious diseases of different classes of diseases were established, which is reflected, in particular, on the relationship between chronic diseases with preserved and lost viability. For diseases of the musculoskeletal system, one fatal case accounts for more than 9000 cases of chronic diseases with preserved viability; for diseases of the circulatory system, this indicator reaches only 58, and for neoplasms – only 22. This corresponds with the assessment of the hazard index: chronic diseases (respectively, 0.7; 153.7; 328.5 cu). The use of the proposed set of indicators makes it possible to carry out a comparative analysis of the danger of chronicity of diseases of certain classes, to track the change in these processes over time, being an important part of managing the frequency and outcomes of chronic diseases.

Based on the results of scientific research, the authors consider a set of conditions and factors that determine the effectiveness of the reconnaissance and strike complex and identify a set of indicators in the interests of forming operational and tactical requirements for products that should be equipped with promising weapons and military equipment. One of the key tasks in the creation of these complexes is the task of substantiating the operational and tactical requirements (OTV) for armaments and military equipment, using a set of indicators of combat performance, which would most fully take into account (quantitatively and qualitatively) external and internal conditions and factors. , which determine the necessary parameters of the characteristics of the use of reconnaissance and strike systems. Analysis of existing approaches shows that the identified performance indicators, which would take into account all the essential patterns of use of reconnaissance and strike systems is quite a difficult task due to the complexity and variety of conditions and factors, processes that determine the effectiveness of complexes. According to the system approach, determining the effectiveness of the complex as an element of a group of troops (forces) can be done by sequentially building a hierarchical structure of indicators, partial actions of the components of the complex, its functioning and their mutual agreement on the purpose, place, sequence of forces and means involved. to perform tasks. The effectiveness of the application and the quality of functioning of the reconnaissance and strike complex of missile troops and artillery is mainly assessed by indicators that are numerical characteristics of its combat properties. They are a quantitative measure of the quality of functioning of the reconnaissance and strike complex. Its quality is determined by the external and internal characteristics of the properties. Aim. The paper is dedicated to the research of the models of Kijima-Sumita incomplete restoration processes [1-7]. These models are relatively new and poorly studied. As the case of incomplete restoration is more typical for the operation of today’s technical systems, the study of the Kijima-Sumita models appears to be most relevant. In those models, the degree of incompleteness of restoration is defined by the value of coefficient q. The paper cites findings that elaborate upon [5] and [6]. In [5], the restoration function was evaluated in the form of a finite sum with the use of statistical tests. In [6], an integral equation was derived for the restoration function and failure flow parameter. The effect of the restoration factor on those indicators was analyzed as well.This paper aims to derive a density equation of time between failures for the Kijima-Sumita model and such dependability indicators as the average values of the overshoot, undershoot and cycle duration, as well as to analyze the effect of restoration factor q on those indicators. The findings are presented in graph form, with the assumption that the time to first failure adheres to the Weibull distribution law that is at the core of the dependability theory. This paper considers the case of the increasing rate function. Methods. The required calculations were conducted in the R free programming environment that is specially designed for statistical computing and graphics. The mathematical tools used in this work were the numerical integration methods, such as the method of trapezoids and method of rectangles modified for taking double integrals. Conclusions. For the Kijima-Sumita process, the paper derives equations and constructs graphs for the densities of time between failures, as well as average values of the overshoot, undershoot and cycle duration. The restoration equation for the Kijima incomplete restoration processes was deduced. The effect of the restoration factor on the above dependability indicators was analyzed for the case of increasing rate function showing that if parameter q increases, the average values of overshoot, undershoot and cycle duration decrease.

The authors showed that the imperfection of precision farming methods, methods of transferring energy from the tractor engine to the working bodies required the development of new methods for reliable and accurate identification of the soil and its properties, as well as the state of machine-tractor units. (Research purpose) To determine the actual energy and economic indicators of a working machine and unit reliably and promptly in the operating conditions of agricultural production by parameters closely related to the energy indicators of an internal combustion engine, the measurement of which did not require large costs. (Materials and methods) 24 indirect parameters reflecting the power and degree of engine load were used for the operational assessment. In this case, the angular accelerations of the internal combustion engine and the turbocharger rotor crankshaft, including those caused by the operation of individual cylinders, the working processes of the generator (their average and extreme values), as well as the amplitude-frequency spectra of these processes, and speed characteristics were taken into account. To improve the accuracy and reliability of the assessment of energy indicators, the authors selected the processes in the frequency and phase domains. (Results and discussion) The considered methods were tested in production conditions during the main processing of the alkaline-chernozem complexes of the Chulym district of the Novosibirsk region. The authors found that the use of a flexible machine-tractor unit based on an energy-rich tractor improved the quality of soil cultivation: the share of soil lumps less than 5 centimeters in size was 73-80 percent; the productivity of the tillage machine increased by 15-20 percent. (Conclusions) The authors proved that with the help of indirectly determined indicators of power and degree of load, it was possible to estimate the actual values of the energy and technical and economic indicators of the working machine and the unit, the quality of the assembly of the unit, the heterogeneity of the soil was much easier and cheaper than using the known force-measuring methods. It was found that the use of digital systems for automatic control of the unit using the indicated indicators made it possible to provide quite simply the setting of the optimal zone of energy modes.

In the 21st century, new social processes that used to be considered illogical, unusual, and even impossible in the recent past are becoming increasingly widespread. Downshifting implying deliberate rejection of the benefits of modern civilization should undoubtedly be viewed as one of such processes. In various countries and corners of the planet, the scale of the development of downshifting has now acquired such a great magnitude that acting like nothing is happening would be both impossible and wrong. Meanwhile, an unequivocal perception of downshifting as an exclusively favorable or unfavorable process has not yet formed in society. In this context, attempts at measuring and statistically evaluating the various parameters of downshifting draw great interest from the point of science and practice. However, it has to be admitted that statistical science somewhat lags behind the present demands and needs of society since the system of downshifting indicators providing its comprehensive characteristic and allowing for a relatively clear answer to the question of the actual role of such an unusual social process has not yet been developed. In this context, the present article examines the specific characteristics of the quantitative analysis of downshifting, analyses various approaches to creating a downshifting statistics indicator system, and presents the authors’ propositions considering the structure and components of the system of downshifting indicators allowing not only comprehensively demonstrating the scale, structure, distribution, and intensity of this process, but also addressing its socio-economic results and consequences.

The article reveals some aspects of one of the latest trends in increasing the analytical capabilities of modern socio-economic statistics - the formation of business demography. The relevance of substantiating the statistical and methodological base for studying the processes of creation, stability and liquidation of economic entities is obvious due to the fact that such demographic characteristics of the life cycle of enterprises are increasingly becoming markers of the quality of the country’s economic development as a whole. The authors consider the main provisions of the methodology for the formation of business demography indicators in accordance with the Eurostat and OECD recommendations. Based on official Rosstat data, the dynamics of the rates of creation (birth rates) and liquidation (death rates) of organizations both in Russia as a whole and in federal districts and types of economic activity has been analyzed. Statistical analysis of business survey data indicates the inconsistency and variability of the business climate, the differentiation between regions and sectors of the economy in terms of business demography, as well as the manifestation of negative trends that have developed, according to the authors, in Russian entrepreneurship in recent three to four years. Thus, following substantive logic of the author’s conclusions: economic and statistical analysis based on a minimum set of indicators, including using methods of comparative interregional analysis, is very useful for making specific management decisions and choosing the priority of their implementation (depending on the characteristics of individual regions and the nature of the activities of economic entities), allowing to overcome a certain stagnation in the private enterprise sector.

It is often very difficult to rank entities characterized by more than one indicator. In the case of banking sector, especially in transition countries, it would be important to determine the relationship among the banks, regarding their efficiency and relevant characteristics. The results obtained in two different ranking processes are presented, discussed and compared in this paper. The first procedure is based on Data Envelopment Analysis, mathematical programming technique that can be applied to assessing the efficiency of a variety of entities, using variety of data. The second procedure is based on I-distance, a multivariate statistical method for ranking entities. Both methods allow the use of several criteria, and they both give one single index which can be considered as a rank. The complementary use of the two methods provides more realistic picture of the tendencies in the banking sector and the combination of the results obtained in two processes provides a useful background for more comprehensive evaluation of the banks efficiency.

This study tests the hypothesis that a positive relationship exists between academic library funding (dependent variable) and selected institutional variables taken as indicators of the demand for library services at the university (enrollment, number of doctoral programs, doctoral degrees awarded, number of faculty, select other institutional characteristics). The research employs 11 years of longitudinal data from 113 members of the Association of Research Libraries to create a multiple regression model. Empirical results indicate that operational indicators of the demand for library services are positively associated with funding, and most of the associations are statistically significant at the five percent level or less in two tail tests. In a corollary finding, libraries associated with private universities in the United States spend 21 percent more than their public counterparts, while Canadian university libraries spend 21 percent less than U.S. public university libraries. The presence of a medical school is associated with an 8.6 percent greater expenditure, and the presence of a law school is associated with a 12.3 percent greater expenditure. The study suggests that this formula may be useful as a tool for library funding and assessment of adequacy of library budgets.

The article discusses typical tasks of quantitative comparison and analysis of the effectiveness of diagnostic medical technologies. Indicators of clinical informativeness of diagnostic methods, quantitative methods for their calculation and interpretation, their importance for making diagnostic decisions are discussed. Using one of the diagnostic methods as an example, algorithms for comparing the test diagnostic test with the gold standard test according to clinical information indicators are described: sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value of test results, accuracy, likelihood ratio of positive and negative test results. The problems of constructing ROC curves by the example of diagnostic indicators of nasal obstruction: airflow and pressure, as well as the calculation and presentation of AUC (in one figure), finding diagnostic threshold points for two tests (changes in flow and resistance), and testing the statistical hypothesis about the equality of AUC of these two tests, creating a nomogram for calculating the post-test probability of illness. It is shown how, using the presented technique, it is possible to efficiently calculate all the standard operational characteristics of diagnostic medical technologies and additional useful indicators. All calculations were performed in the statistical program R. The text of the article presents program codes of the R language with explanations.

This paper focuses on total quality management (TQM) processes and their applications to increase the management performance of enterprises in the renewable energy sector (RES). TQM is a modern tool used by enterprises to increase their management performance. We start with a description of Edwards Deming’s conceptualized model, highlighting different phases of its development as described in the literature. The TQM process is then used for an application to the RES in Romania. The quantitative model analyzes the influence of TQM process implementation in achieving competitive advantage and the management performance of the undertakings in the RES. Data was collected through a survey based on a questionnaire addressed to employees and managers in the RES. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used and the research hypotheses were tested with the partial least squares path method (PLS). Data analysis was performed with the statistical software SmartPLS 3.2.8. The main contribution of this article is to evaluate the relationship between the management performance of enterprises in the RES sector in Romania and TQM process indicators. The results underline the fact that the most important attributes of a TQM process to increase the management performance are: integrated operational processes, policies and trading strategies, integrated operational management, company social responsibility, motivated workforce, knowledge, and competencies. The conclusions of the research are in line with the latest findings in the area, underlining that management performance is the direct result of the association between a group of factors and processes, such as the integrated operational processes, trade strategies and policies, integrated operational management, corporate social responsibility (CSR), motivated workforce, knowledge, and competencies.

Research on teachers' ability to prepare lesson plans has not shown good results, whereas there have been many studies on efforts to improve teachers in preparing lesson plans. Still, no research explicitly describes the ability of teachers to develop indicators. This research aims to describe the understanding of mathematics teachers in creating learning indicators. This research is quantitative research with a survey method. The sur- vey was conducted on 51 Mathematics Teachers in Cirebon City. The research instrument used was in the form of a questionnaire regarding the indicators of developing learning indicators. The results showed that (1) most teachers still did not understand the steps of developing learning indicators (2) teachers still had difficulty determining operational verbs (KKO) of knowledge, conducting processes, implementation, and evaluation, (3) there were still teachers who thought the affective and psychomotor aspects could not be assessed in mathematics, (4) most teachers have developed at least three indicators in a basic competency, while almost half of the sample assumes the characteristics of students and schools do not affect developing learning indicators.

Abstract. Operational probabilistic forecasts of river discharge are essential for effective water resources management. Many studies have addressed this topic using different approaches ranging from purely statistical black-box approaches to physically-based and distributed modelling schemes employing data assimilation techniques. However, few studies have attempted to develop operational probabilistic forecasting approaches for large and poorly gauged river basins. This study is funded by the European Space Agency under the TIGER-NET project. The objective of TIGER-NET is to develop open-source software tools to support integrated water resources management in Africa and to facilitate the use of satellite earth observation data in water management. We present an operational probabilistic forecasting approach which uses public-domain climate forcing data and a hydrologic–hydrodynamic model which is entirely based on open-source software. Data assimilation techniques are used to inform the forecasts with the latest available observations. Forecasts are produced in real time for lead times of 0 to 7 days. The operational probabilistic forecasts are evaluated using a selection of performance statistics and indicators. The forecasting system delivers competitive forecasts for the Kavango River, which are reliable and sharp. Results indicate that the value of the forecasts is greatest for intermediate lead times between 4 and 7 days.

The article contains an overview of the reports submitted at the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Statistical Assessments of Sustainable Development», held on January 27–28, 2022 at the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON). Of the 123 announced reports, more than 70 were heard in plenary and breakout sessions. They addressed a wide range of issues, both theoretical and applied.Speakers noted that the list of indicators for achieving sustainable development goals is still in progress and requires improvement. It is necessary to ensure the adequacy of indicators for the tasks set, cohesion of methods of information gathering, international comparability of data, and their availability to a wide range of users. The speakers also touched upon monitoring issues associated with achieving sustainable development goals.Conference participants discussed application of statistical and econometric methods for solving specific problems, formulated proposals for improving the methodology of analysis and establishing generalizing characteristics of sustainable development. Theoretical and practical issues of using statistical and econometric methods and models are considered in the context of forecasting target indicators of strategic planning, modelling and forecasting of individual socio-economic phenomena and processes, and the development of individual countries or regions.A significant portion of reports focused on analyzing the achievement of specific sustainable development goals, studying various characteristics of the economy and society, identifying patterns that arise when progressing toward the target goals. The papers also discussed ESG business transformation, modelling of a circular economy, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on sustainable development, the functioning of health care and family sustainability.

The article deals with the issues of improving the efficiency of control of operational and technical characteristics of the aircraft group by ensuring the completeness, reliability and relevance of data collection on the results of their operation. Proposals have been formed to combine aircraft maintenance work and collect the necessary data in a single automated real-time process. New approaches to automation of information processes of aircraft technical operation on the basis of wide use of mobile computer devices, document flow in electronic form and means of automatic identification United by the corresponding software components are offered. Mathematical models, algorithms and supporting software have been developed. The methodical approach for the automated creation of software applications using the tools of the software and technology platform is considered. A software and hardware complex for collecting and monitoring real-time parameters of the technical condition and operational and technical characteristics of the aircraft group was developed, the main functions of its components and the scheme of interaction were determined. It is shown that the proposed methodological and software-technical solutions allow to provide an increase in the reliability and efficiency of the assessment of operational and technical characteristics of aircraft using both single and integrated (complex) indicators.

A constructive method for estimating the surface morphology of nanostructured semiconductors, which consists in determining the main statistical characteristics of the aggregate structure of nanoscale objects on their synthesized surface is presented. In terms of the indium phosphide semiconductor with a synthesized porous layer on its surface, it is shown that the evaluation of the main statistical characteristics allows a deeper understanding of the kinetics of the pore formation process during typical electrochemical treatment of the crystal. The determination of the main statistical metrologically based characteristics (indicators of the distribution center, variation, and shape of the distribution) allows us to understand in more detail view the processes occurring during electrochemical processing of crystals. In the long run, this will make it possible to create nanostructures with predetermined properties, which will become the basis for the industrial production of high-quality nanostructured semiconductors.

The multiplicity of causal relationships as a functions of the response of the physical processes and the environmental influences are realized by means of providing of service functions of mechanical engineering products. This provides the evolution of quality indicators of the product in its Life Cycle and the formation of the conditions for physical and moral wear of products and machines. Rational management of technological inheritability of material properties of machine products to provide their operational characteristics and reliability indicators by means of the synergetic approach is a methodological basis for the design of advanced technological processes of products manufacturing. Technological providing of standart quality indicators of products is realized by a limited number of rational variants of relations between the product and the technological environment using necessary number of stable connections. The choice of rational optimization criteria to solve the technological problems, in particular, the calculation of allowances for workpieces machining, at the substages of design and technological preparation provide the necessary initial parameters of products and their operational characteristics during manufacturing and assembly. It also allows to predict the behavior of products and machines at the operation stage of their Life Cycles. A method of choosing a rational allowance for surfaces treatment of castings, taking into account the technological inheritability of material properties was studied. Traditional methods of the allowance determining during products machining are analyzed. Technological damageability as a criterion for optimization in solving technological problems is proposed. The LM–hardness method used to select the allowance for the treatment of functional surfaces of the product is presented. Technological providing of the experimental researches is described. Rational values of the allowances for processing of aluminium alloy flat workpiece are 4–7 mm as a result of experimental researches depending on an arrangement of stress concentrators. The directions of further researches are determined.

Abstract This article is a result of the research on the models of the production processes for the quality management and their identification. It discusses the classical model and the indicators for evaluating the capabilities by taking as its starting point the assumption of the normal distribution of the process characteristics. The division of the process types proposed by ISO 21747:2006 standard introducing models for non-stationary processes is presented. A general process model that allows in any real case to precisely describe the statistical characteristics of the process is proposed. It gives the opportunity for more detailed description, in comparison to the model proposed by ISO 21747:2006 standard, of the process characteristics and determining its capability. This model contains the type of process, statistical distribution, and the method for determining the capability and performance (long-term capability) of the process. One of the model elements is proposed, own classification and resulting set of process types. The classification follows the recommendations of ISO 21747:2006 introducing models for the non-stationary processes. However, the set of the process types allows, beyond a more precise description of the process characteristics, its usage to monitor the process.

The article discusses the problems associated with the management of the quality of education, it is shown that quality management education is impossible without reliance on proven statistical tools. The authors analyze the characteristics of quality management education and show that an integral element of the management of this process is the correct setting goals, having the operational and prediction properties in the zone of potential development of the student. The authors identify and justify the need for the provision of a system of indicators that allow determining the degree of achievement of objectives in the educational system. They analyze the classification of indicators from the point of view of education quality assessment identified a normative and comparative nature of the assessment indicators, the role and place of statistics in the evaluation of the quality of the educational process. Based on the conducted research the authors propose the method of using this statistical tool, as Shewhart charts, and to assess the implementation of the educational process and/or results and decision on the need for corrective actions. The article gives the definition of Shewhart charts, and describes the purpose of this instrument, marked the boundaries of its application, the analysis of varieties of charts, with the main features and the estimated values, the technique of their construction. Particular value is an example of using Shewhart charts to assess the quality of student performance, which demonstrates the role of this statistical tool in deciding the stability of the educational process or the need for corrective actions, i.e. external intervention in the process. The article may be interesting for practitioners in the course of training courses on the subject and in the process of improving quality management systems in educational institutions.

This study considers an agile model for the organization of activities of a project-oriented transport company. Building a project-oriented company (project-oriented management) requires an appropriate theoretical base. The agile model of transport company operation has been developed, for which the cycles have been determined, the content of each cycle has been defined, and the flow of information has been simulated. The transformation of information in each cycle of the model has been characterized, taking into consideration the operational specificity of transport companies’ activities. A given model was compared to the main stages of a project’s lifecycle. Two indicators have been proposed such as the degree of project uniqueness and the degree of project complexity that reflect the corresponding project characteristics. The complexity of the project’s operational activities refers to the number of elements and their alternatives. Part of the project is an «operation» that forms a unit of the project’s network schedule. The uniqueness of the project of operational activities means the difference between the current project and other projects, already implemented or is being implemented by the company. The estimation formulae for these indicators have been derived. The proposed indicators for the given example have been calculated; the interpretation of the results has been proposed. The calculation results have demonstrated the adequacy of input-output data and the practical applicability of these indicators. These metrics are not limited to the context of an additional project specification. Their level is proposed to be used in the processes of estimating the time of individual project periods and the agile model’s cycles within the initial stage ‒ creating a product concept model and preparing for implementation. In addition, these indicators could be used effectively for employee remuneration.

The aim of this paper is to provide better understanding of a few approaches that have been proposed for treating nonequilibrium (time-dependent) processes in statistical mechanics with the emphasis on the interrelation between theories. The ensemble method, as it was formulated by Gibbs, has great generality and broad applicability to equilibrium statistical mechanics. Different macroscopic environmental constraints lead to different types of ensembles, with particular statistical characteristics. In the present work, the statistical theory of nonequilibrium processes which is based on nonequilibrium ensemble formalism is discussed. We also outline the reasoning leading to some other useful approaches to the description of the irreversible processes. The kinetic approach to dynamic many-body problems, which is important from the point of view of the fundamental theory of irreversibility, is alluded to. Appropriate references are made to papers dealing with similar problems arising in other fields. The emphasis is on the method of the nonequilibrium statistical operator (NSO) developed by Zubarev. The NSO method permits one to generalize the Gibbs ensemble method to the nonequilibrium case and to construct a nonequilibrium statistical operator which enables one to obtain the transport equations and calculate the transport coefficients in terms of correlation functions, and which, in the case of equilibrium, goes over to the Gibbs distribution. Although some space is devoted to the formal structure of the NSO method, the emphasis is on its utility. Applications to specific problems such as the generalized transport and kinetic equations, and a few examples of the relaxation and dissipative processes, which manifest the operational ability of the method, are considered.

The inflation dynamics in 2020 was reflected by an indicator of 4,9 %, which was higher than the inflation target of 4 %. The increase in inflation was affected by the complex of internal and external factors. First of all, the Coronavirus situation in Russia affected. Inflationary processes have received new characteristics. The purpose of the article is to analyze the reasons for the price increase in Russia in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic. The article uses comparison methods, factor analysis, and the graphical method. Statistical indicators are used to analyze the factors of inflation. In the course of the analysis, the reasons for the price increase in Russia in 2020–2021 are formulated. Inflationary processes during the pandemic are caused by both traditional and non-traditional factors. The permanent factors include the monetary policy.

The relevance and importance of the problems of spatial development of the Russian Federation are steadily growing. The article is devoted to the issues of improving the tools of inter-budgetary alignment process considered as a necessary element for regulation of the spatial structure of the economy and for resolution of existing regional socio-economic imbalances. The methodological prerequisites of the research are determined. Calculations are made and a comparative interregional analysis of the severity of spatial imbalances for indicators of investment and budgetary provision of regional development at the level of macro-regions of the Russian Federation (Federal districts) is carried out. The calculation of the dynamics of these indicators is characterized by scientific novelty. The methods used are systematic approach, methods of economic and statistical and regional analysis. The information base of the study is the data of Rosstat and the Ministry of Finance of Russia. The necessary to adjust the existing and develop new quantitative coefficients within the current methodology of budget alignment in accordance with the objective features of the spatial conditions of regional development in Russian Federation is concluded.

The article presents the results of the study of the latest international standards and methods of statistical measurement of innovations developed by leading international organizations, contributing to the further development of the domestic methodology of this area of statistics. The authors identified promising directions for extending and refining knowledge on various aspects of innovative activity, including those associated with generation of new information base to analyze, conduct international comparisons and make forecasts of development of the innovative sector of the economy.The article considers up to date approaches to the measurement of innovative processes and the possibility of their adaptation to domestic practice. The paper includes revised definitions of the concepts of innovations, innovation activity, and its types. The composition and content of types of specially researched innovations, covering basic business process of organizations, are revealed; characteristics of innovation activity are identified in more detail. A new version of the Community Innovation Survey program is presented, which focuses on the study of «open innovation», including user innovations, revision of innovative activities. Some additions to the existing questionnaire are formulated.The place of innovative development of Russia compared to that in European countries is analyzed. For these purposes, the authors justified the use of the system of indicators reflecting current trends and development potential of innovations in the economy. In particular, this system includes indicators of the level of innovative activity, dynamics, and intensity of innovative activity. Based on the calculations of key indicators characterizing innovative activity in Russia, the authors concluded that over the past decade, the main characteristics of innovation activity have not significantly changed. In terms of the level of innovation activity, our country ranks 28th (7,5%), as for the intensity of expenditure on technological innovation - 9th (2,1%), in terms of the share of innovative goods and services in total sales 24th (6,5%).In conclusion, the authors formulated main methodological changes in the statistical measurement of innovative processes associated with the modernization of international standards and identified further directions for improving statistics of innovation. These directions require increased attention to monitoring the effectiveness of the tools used, and creating an information basis for making informed management decisions in the field of regulating innovation processes.

In the context of stochastic uncertainty and the increasing complexity of logistics processes in the retail sector, managers face a problem in obtaining accurate forecasts for the dynamics of changes in key business performance indicators. The purpose of the present work is to assess the impact of risk events and unstable conditions on the level of quality of supply chain services and economic indicators of the retail trade network. Using the anyLogistix software tool, a simulation model was constructed that allows assessing operational risks and their impact on key indicators of the supply chain using the bullwhip effect. Besides, a statistical model of the impact of the ripple effect in the event of failures caused by the occurrence of a man-made risk event and the shutdown of production of one of the suppliers on the financial, customer, and operational performance indicators of the supply chain of grocery retail. The results obtained show that the main factors of changes in the supply chain are operational risks associated with fluctuations in demand and order execution time by the distribution center. With a sufficiently high level of occurrence, their impact on productivity and quality of service is low because they can be eliminated in a short time. The simulation results show that the most tangible risks for the food retail supply chain are supply chain failures, whose consequences require significant coordinating efforts and longer recovery times, as well as additional investments. For example, events, such as a fire in one distribution center and the shutdown of production for 1 week of one of the suppliers of dairy products will lead to the loss of USD 181.75 million by the grocery retailer, which is 3% of the expected revenue. We believe that risk management in supply chains is becoming increasingly complex, and to make effective managerial decisions, it is necessary to constantly improve the tools that combine analytical and optimization methods, as well as simulation modeling.

Abstract. An analysis of riverine outflow into the Baltic Sea is presented for the years 1901 – 1990. The monthly outflows were calculated from the measurements in a number of representative rivers. The analysis included estimation of seasonal and multi-year characteristics of riverine outflows and periodic structure, as well as stochastic and statistical indicators characterising the influence of riverine water on the variability of the sea level and water volume in the basin. The article presents prognostic characteristics determined using analysis of parametric stochastic processes. The results obtained are related to oceanographic characteristics of the Baltic Sea. Productivity is one of the important performance indicators of transport and transport-technological vehicles. The authors confirmed the necessity to unify this indicator calculations for an extensive range of agricultural goods and extensive works on their movement. (Research purpose) To develop universal interconnected stages of detecting the operational productivity of transport and transport-technological vehicles when performing mechanized work in crop production. (Materials and methods) The values of operational performance were determined based on the analysis of norm-forming factors and statistical processing. A systematic approach was used to identifying individual elements of the cargo transportation cycle. The authors studied each of the methodological approaches and the mathematical tools used to calculate the performance indicators of various technical devices. (Results and discussion) After a step-by-step modeling of transport and transport-technological processes, a unified formula of the target function (optimality criterion) was obtained. Having implemented a more convenient calculation algorithm and having transformed the mathematical apparatus, the authors obtained the vehicle production rates for the transportation of mineral fertilizers to the place of their application. (Conclusions) The authors implemented a detailed mathematical description of the transport and transport-technological process stages. They identified the functional relationships between operational parameters and production and agrolandscape conditions. A universal algorithm was developed making it possible to determine the values of the operational performance for transport and transport-technological vehicles. The authors determined the values of the coefficient enabling the unification and comparison of the algorithm for identifying the production rates for transport and transport-technological work. It was found out that with an increase in the length of transportation from 3 to 54 kilometers, this coefficient increases 3.8 times. This variation was explained by an increase in the purely transport phase of the process.

Abstract While tropical cyclone (TC) track forecasts have become increasingly accurate over recent decades, intensity forecasts from both numerical models and statistical schemes have been trailing behind. Most operational statistical–dynamical forecasts of TC intensity use linear regression to relate the initial TC characteristics and most relevant large-scale environmental parameters along the TC track to the TC intensification rate. Yet, many physical processes involved in TC intensification are nonlinear, hence potentially hindering the skill of those linear schemes. Here, we develop two nonlinear TC intensity hindcast schemes, for the first time globally. These schemes are based on either support vector machine (SVM) or artificial neural network (ANN) algorithms. Contrary to linear schemes, which perform slightly better when trained individually over each TC basin, nonlinear methods perform best when trained globally. Globally trained nonlinear schemes improve TC intensity hindcasts relative to regionally trained linear schemes in all TC-prone basins, especially the SVM scheme for which this improvement reaches ~10% globally. The SVM scheme, in particular, partially corrects the tendency of the linear scheme to underperform for moderate intensity (category 2 and less on the Saffir–Simpson scale) and decaying TCs. Although the TC intensity hindcast skill improvements described above are an upper limit of what could be achieved operationally (when using forecasted TC tracks and environmental parameters), it is comparable to that achieved by operational forecasts over the last 20 years. This improvement is sufficiently large to motivate more testing of nonlinear methods for statistical TC intensity prediction at operational centers.

Piston internal combustion engines (ICE) are the most widespread sources of energy among heat engines. The ICEs are widely used as power installations on road transport. Nowadays, most of the ICEs are equipped with the boost-pressure charge system. Thermal and mechanical improvement of processes in intake system largely affects the efficiency of piston engines. The paper proposes a method of stabilization of pulsing flows in the intake system by the installation of the equalizing frame in the output channel of the turbocharger (TC). Investigations were carried out on an experimental installation that consisted of single-cylinder engine (8.2/7.1) and boost-pressure charge system (ТКR-6). Determination of instantaneous values of air flow speed and local heat transfer coefficient was conducted by the use of constant-temperature heat loss anemometer with an original design. It is established that the presence of the equalizing frame in the intake system leads to the decrease of turbulence level up to 25 % in comparison with the basic intake system (with preservation of metering characteristics). It is shown that the installation of the equalizing frame in the intake system of the ICE with TC also leads to the decrease in heat transfer intensity up to 15 % in comparison with the basic system. As a result, the authors determined values of breakdown intensity and probability of failure-free operation of engine with basic and modernized intake system.

The statistical method of research of mining and technical and geological data is used in the work, which is aimed at collecting primary statistical material, processing, systematization and grouping by common features, from characteristics of individual elements to generalizing indicators in the form of absolute, relative or average values of ordering, data processing and interpretation. Results. The cluster analysis of conditions on mine fields is presented. Of the fifteen mining and geological parameters that affect the step of planting the main roof, two homogeneous groups of minefields were identified to simplify the calculations, and further, to find objective patterns. A dendrogram of minefield typification is constructed. Scientific novelty. On the basis of the collected materials of the technical documentation on the coal mining enterprises of DTEK Pavlogradugol, by applying cluster analysis, for the first time the minefields were typified with the help of mining and geological conditions affecting the efficiency of coal mining models. Practical significance. Cluster analysis will significantly reduce the amount of calculations in the modelling of geomechanical processes. To increase the reliability of calculations by probabilistic and statistical representations of the nature and mechanism of planting the main roof. The typification of conditions, in the future, will allow modelling of stepwise movement of the face in the spatial geomechanical model of the excavation site, to predict the impact of mining and geological conditions on the technology of treatment, which will increase the efficiency of coal mining in Western Donbas.

The purpose of the article is to develop theoretical approaches to strategic analysis of the activities of commercial banks based on a balanced scorecard and gap analysis. The adaptation of this method to the peculiarities of the available operational, accounting and statistical information has been made. The empirical base of the study is the data of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, data of statistical and accounting reports of a commercial bank. Also, when compiling the balanced scorecard, the strategic plan for the development of the organization of the banking sector of the Republic of Belarus is initially used for the corporate business line. The strategic analysis procedure involves assessing the four main business processes of the organization (finance, customers, internal business processes, personnel and development), based on comparing the target value of each of the indicators with the current value, and setting an assessment. An important element of building a balanced scorecard and, at the same time, the first stage of gap analysis (GAP analysis) is to identify gaps between the assessment of the prospects' tasks and their target value (100%), as well as formulate proposals for their elimination. As a result of the strategic analysis of a commercial bank, the prospects for the development of the organization were considered, problem areas in business processes were identified, negative gaps between the target and actual indicators were classified by their types. As a result of the analysis of the balanced scorecard and the analysis of gaps, the necessary measures were identified to achieve the strategic goals of a commercial bank for the next year, and conclusions were drawn about the need to increase interaction with the client in the digital environment through modern information and communication technologies: chat bots, digital products, online design, online presentations, etc.

The authors showed that the main condition for assessing the harvesting transport complex is to reduce costs during harvesting and transportation of grain crops.(Research purpose) To assess the technical and economic indicators and operational properties of foreign grain harvesters and their impact on the productivity of the entire harvesting transport complex. Based on the statistical data obtained during the information collection, to calculate the indicators that aff ect the harvesting transport complex management.(Materials and methods) The authors used statistical materials on the combine harvesters operation, transport vehicles for transportation. They took studied combine harvesters and vehicles technical characteristics. They considered the elements of the theory of probability for the formation of the harvesting transport complex. The studies were carried out simultaneously in two structural divisions of an agricultural organization, located at a distance of 19-20 kilometers from each other. Economic and statistical, forecasting, economic and mathematical modeling, expert assessments and others methods were used.(Results and discussion) The authors received 89 values for the indicator "Time to fi ll the combine harvester bunker", 45 – according to the criterion "Waiting time for vehicle loading". They calculated the mathematical expectation of the fi rst indicator: in the fi rst harvesting team for the Tucano 450 – 22.68 minutes; Mega 370 – 20.74 minutes; for a Tucano 450 from the second harvesting team – 19.24 minutes.(Conclusions) The authors revealed the features of harvesting transport complexes formation, consisting of foreign combine harvesters and vehicles. They determined the productivity, quality indicators of the technological process of threshing grain crops and yield, at which the use of foreign combine harvesters became economically feasible.

This article studies an operational problem arising at a container terminal. Klaipeda city port operations were surveilled up close and relevant remarks were made. The time efficiency of the existing container-lowering procedures using the simulation studies with a test-bed and with a real life crane operation was examined. Statistical analysis of the experimental results has showed that non-automated processes have higher time variance for the lowering process. The operations of quay crane for container handling “ship-to-shore” were analyzed, and lowering procedures time variations were determined. Each container is transported at operators own risk and with pre-defined time efficiency; therefore, it is hard to predict the optimal time for each container handling operation, thus, eventually, additional costs arise. Mathematical model was developed, which described dynamical characteristics of the container movement during lowering procedures. The lowering crane operation was modeled using known dynamic values for each separate case, and the complexity of the problem was proven. The results of modeling and experimental results show that it is possible to achieve optimal values with the existing processes.
