ABSTRACT Instructors teaching the introductory accounting information systems (AIS) course generally include some type of group project to reinforce the principles emphasized in this course. One of the challenges facing AIS instructors is which type(s) of group project(s) potentially improve the students' overall course learning experience, while at the same time addressing future career student objectives. If the AIS instructor has a mix of students with such differing career goals when teaching the AIS course, it is important for the instructor to consider possibly offering a variety of project choices for the group project. We test offering a ‘menu’ of software and case study group project options reflective of several career choices students have after graduation. We also describe how the instructor can operationalize such a ‘menu’ approach effectively using a learning management system (LMS), a minimal level of grading assistance, and other factors. We then measure student satisfaction with this approach, as well as the impact on the instructor's teaching ratings of such an approach. Finally, we measure the impact of a ‘menu’ choice on students' performance on the comprehensive final examination in the course. This paper provides empirical evidence in support of a ‘menu’ approach for group projects in the AIS course, a ‘menu’ which can be altered to accommodate the career aspirations of students majoring in accounting in most programs across the nation.

Objective: to evaluate the system to outline the graduate students from the Post-Graduate Programs of CAPES Medicine III area. Method: it was analyzed the book of indicators and the Document of Area of the Post-Graduate Programs of Surgery, also checking the literature about this issue. Results: there was a paucity of data from most of the programs, as regards to the methods for evaluation of graduate students. The current system lacks a standard and an institutional support to outline the graduate students. In the public system there is a concentration of postgraduate students in Medicine; however, they represent a small part of those Brazilians students who finished their graduation courses in Medicine. In the current context, the quest for the post graduate courses and consequently for a research field or even a teaching career, has been replaced by the private sector jobs and the labor market, both in non-academic assistance activities. Conclusion: it is imperative to establish not only science and technology innovation policies but also educational and health policies acting harmoniously and stimulating the qualification and the teaching career, improving the post-graduate courses. It is necessary to develop a single form under the institutional guidance of CAPES with the conception of a National Program for Graduate Student in order to consolidate guidelines to mapping the graduate students of post-graduate programs in surgery, in our country.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to know the personalized online student support system provided by e-learning centers, to find out academic advice as Student Support Services provided by institution running e-learning programs; to find out career counseling as Student Support Services provided by institution running e-learning programs; to find out technical support as Student Support Services provided by institution running e-learning programs; to find out registration assistance as Student Support Services provided by institution running e-learning programs; to find out methods used for paying fee for e-learning programs for LIS education; and to find out financial aid available for students for e-learning programs in LIS education. Design/methodology/approach – The present study is exploratory in nature. In the study, the attempt was made to explore the Student Support Services provided by e-learning institution. It focuses on the various online Student Support Services. Data collection was made through following methods: through Web pages of related departments; by contacting the departments and by sending questionnaires. Findings – Student Support Services provided by institutions – academic advice: it was observed from Table I that the data were significant (p < 0.05) and that high percentage (60.9 per cent) of universities/institutes provide support systems like academic advice to the students opting LIS courses through e-programs; career counseling: it was observed from Table II that the data were significant (p < 0.05) and that high percentage (60.9 per cent) of universities/institutes provide support systems like career counseling to the students opting LIS courses through e-programs; technical support: it was observed from Table III that 100 per cent universities/institutes provide technical support to the students opting LIS courses through e-programs; and registration assistance: it was observed from Table IV that 100 per cent universities/institutes provide registration assistance support to the students opting LIS courses through e-programs. *Mode of payment of fees for e-learning programs for LIS education: it was apparent from the information (Table V) that mode of payment of fees such as credit card, check and purchase order or money order is available for majority of e-learning courses. *Financial aid available for students for e-learning programs in LIS education: it may be concluded on the basis of the study results (Table VI) that for significantly (p < 0.05) high percentage of LIS courses, the financial aid is not available. Research limitations/implications – The research work, especially Student Support Services, was limited to only 23 institutions which are running courses in LIS education by e-learning technology. Practical implications – The present study shows that there is a need to strengthen more Student Support Services. The successful implementation of such a system would need efforts by the concerned management of the institutions and substantial support from the apex statutory organizations. The stakeholders have strongly reinforced the necessity of support strategies which need to start from the time the student enrolls to completion of course. Feedback from students, teachers and researchers should be taken for improving the services. It is useful for those who are running e-learning courses. Social implications – Students who are taken and studying online courses would be aware of Student Support Services. Originality/value – This research work is valuable and original, and no prior research has been identified for Student Support Services for e-learning programs in LIS.

With the advent of a Covid-19 pandemic, students are not able to choose their career according to worth so guidance/counselling is most imp. This software allows students, passing from the school, to stay in touch and get personal assistance on choosing their colleges and career with the help of seniors or pass-out students. Using this new system, not only the students would be able to differentiate between the pros and cons of different colleges, but they will also be able to get mentorship in a familiar and localized manner. The application will be helpful, informative, and beneficial for a vast majority of students and has the potential of easing student’s lives in diverse ways with the help of their seniors.

The academic advising program in a college of engineering was studied to describe the role of the advisor in terms of Predominant patterns of use for assistance with preregistration, class add/drop, curriculum planning, career guidance, college and department rules and procedures, and personal counseling. Faculty and professional advisors were compared, and student gender, grade point average (GPA), and age were studied. Students used their advisors predominantly for assislance with preregistration, curriculum planning, and adding or dropping classes. Students assigned to faculty advisors reported greater use of and satisfaction with their advisors than students assigned professional advisors. No discernable pattern of use of and satisfaction with the assigned advisor was found with regard to gender. The expectation was not generally supported that females would use and be more satisfied with their advisors than would males. Students with higher GPAs reported greater use of and satisfaction with their advisors for curriculum and registration assistance than students with lower GPAs. Furthermore, for several advising needs, students with higher GPAs who had assigned faculty advisors used or were more satisfied with their assigned advisors than similar students assigned professional advisors. Younger students used their advisors more frequently than older students for career guidance and personal counseling. This was especially true for younger students assigned to faculty advisors.

This article presents a review of career activity, in particular as it relates to vocational education and training, and proposes a model for a system that incorporates an understanding of: • the transition to the changing world of work; • the range and variety of types of employment; and • the best means of utilising available pathways between employment, on- and off-the-job vocational education and training, and university study. In order to maximise the benefits to be gained from recent reforms in the education and training system, an improved career advisory system is needed to enable students to make informed choices regarding further study and employment. The continual demands for retraining, skills development, work restructuring and continuous improvement mean that the individual's need for ongoing opportunities for career information, counselling and advice can no longer be limited to the formal years of education. The Career Pathways project team, with the assistance of a reference group, undertook a range of tasks to collect data for the report. These included interviews, visits, focus groups, literature and policy reviews, and detailed analysis of practices of six countries: France, Germany, New Zealand, Canada the United States and the United Kingdom. This article represents a summary of the report, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

The existence of Guidance and Counseling services has strong legality and has become an integrated part of the national education system with the explicit recognition of the title of counselor in Law no. 20/2003 on the National Education System. Recognition of the legality of the counselor profession is in line with the paradigm of thinking that contains the concept of redefining education and the prepositions of guidance and counseling. Guidance is the process of providing assistance to individuals that is carried out continuously, so that the individual can understand himself, so that he is able to direct himself and can act naturally, in accordance with the demands and circumstances of the family and society. Career guidance is an activity and assistance service to students with the aim that they gain an understanding of the world of work as well as a guide on how to achieve it. In the context of implementing career guidance services in schools, every educator is required to understand deeply and thoroughly about the basics or main ideas that underlie the implementation of career guidance in schools. With this understanding, educators are expected to be able to strengthen confidence and a greater sense of responsibility. In general, the purpose of career guidance in schools is to assist students in understanding themselves and their environment, in making decisions, planning, and directing activities that lead to careers and ways of life that will give a sense of satisfaction according to, in harmony, and balance with themselves and their environment. In order for career guidance in schools to function properly in accordance with the goals that have been set, a supervisor or school counselor needs to pay attention to the principles of career guidance in schools, especially in the preparation of program implementation services.

Student life causes many sources of stress due to the requirements of managing schoolwork, family, friends, health and wellbeing, and future career planning. Some students are overwhelmed and lack resilience to overcome stress, especially if they are inexperienced in managing setbacks, fail to achieve expectations, or lack skills to independently manage social skills, recreation, and study time. The long-term accumulation of stress has a negative impact on students’ physical and mental health, and may lead to a range of symptoms such as depression, anxiety, headache, insomnia, and eating disorders. Although most universities provide psychological counseling services, there is often a shortage of professional psychologists, which leads to students suffering from stress for longer than necessary without immediate assistance. The build-up of stress can lead to tragic consequences including abnormal reasoning, anti-social behavior, and suicide. There should never be a need for a student to wait more than a month to make an appointment for counseling services and every request for help should be immediately addressed and assessed. In this research, we designed a unique test platform for an immersive virtual reality group chatbot counseling system so students can receive psychological help and stress management counseling anytime and anywhere. First, the research used questionnaires to measure the stress levels and identifies how stress affects their lives. An immersive virtual reality chatbot was developed using professional psychological counseling knowledge that can provide answers during individual or group counseling sessions. Students can log in to the platform as avatars and ask the chatbot questions or interact with other students on the platform. This research provides college students with a new technology-based counseling environment designed to help relieve stress and learn new ways to improve student life quality from others. The platform provides a test base for future clinical trials to evaluate and improve the automated virtual reality chatbot counseling system.

The authors present their experience of designing a model of special educational settings for students with visual impairments enrolled in bachelor’s programmes in Mathematical Support and Administration of Information Systems and Applied Computer Science. The authors discuss requirements for career guidance, application for university admission, academic and psychological support in students with visual impairments and review the system of employment assistance for graduate students with disabilities. The outcomes of the research indicate that project-based learning, active involvement in research and participation in finding solutions to relevant practical tasks promotes high quality training in disabled students.

Syftet med föreliggande forskningsprojekt var att undersöka upplevelser av karriärövergångar hos elitidrottande studenter, på högsta nationella nivå, som strävar efter att etablera sig även på internationellt högsta nivå inom sin idrott, samtidigt som de börjar studera vid universitet/högskola och så småningom tillägnar sig en examen. Semistrukturerade intervjuer användes för att kartlägga och undersöka de elitidrottande studenternas upplevelser. De kategorier som identifierades genom tematisk innehållsanalys var upplevda förändringar i övergången, karriärstöd, resurser för att anpassa sig till den nya nivån i idrotten, upplevd tillfredsställelse med situationen, strategier för att anpassa sig till den nya nivån i idrotten, upplevda förändringar under en dubbel karriär (studier och idrott), upplevelsen av att kombinera studier, idrott och ett “vanligt” liv, och strategier för att hantera detsamma. De elitidrottande studenterna lyfte fram kontinuerligt karriärstöd, interpersonligt stöd och betonade behovet av att utveckla coping strategier som stresshantering och time- management. Åtgärder för att underlätta framgångsrika karriärövergångar för elitidrottande studenter diskuteras.
The main purpose of this research project was to examine perceptions of within-career transition, as experienced by student-athletes striving to reach the international level. Interviews were used to examine the perceptions of student-athletes practicing individual sports at the national elite level. Eight categories were identified through thematic content analysis: changes experienced in the transition, career assistance, resources for adjusting to the new level in sport, satisfaction with their current situation, strategies for adjusting to the new level in sport, changes during a dual career, combining studies and everyday life, and strategies for adjusting to a dual career. The student-athletes emphasised prolonged career assistance, interpersonal support, dedication, and commitment, and recognised the need for coping strategies such as stress and time management. Suggestions for promoting successful within-career transitions for student-athletes are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of teacher attributes and school contextual factors to student achievement in career and technical education in Mississippi. The teacher attributes years of teaching experience, degree(s) of attainment, professional development, and national board certification were included as independent variables. Additionally, the contextual factors of enrollment, academic achievement, and socio-economic status were included as independent variables. The statewide standardized assessment for career and technical education was used as the dependent variable measuring student achievement at the school district, career and technical program area, and individual career and technical course levels. The predictor model including all independent variables resulted in statistically significant variance explained in student achievement. National Board for Professional Teaching Standards® showed a statistically significant positive impact on student achievement at the school district level, the cooperative education and marketing program level, and the following five individual career and technical courses: allied health, automotive service technology, business and computer technology, early childhood services and education, and horticulture. Additionally, at the career and technical program level, academic achievement and degree(s) of attainment showed positive impacts on student achievement. Also, on the program level, more years of teaching experience, higher enrollment, and higher levels of socio-economic status showed negative impacts on student achievement. On the school district and program levels, attendance at the professional development workshop had a negative impact on career and technical student achievement.

The United States Army is making changes in the Officer Education System for 2nd lieutenants to majors. These changes affect the size of Transient, Holdee and Student account (THS). The current Officer Basic Course changes to a two-phased system called Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC II and III). A twenty-week Captains' Career Course (CCC) replaces the current CCC and Combined Arms and Service Staff School (CAS3). Currently, Command and General Staff College (CGSC), where 50% of a year group attends resident CGSC, shifts to a two-phased approach with a Common Core Course and a Career Field Qualification Course. This thesis includes an Excel simulation model producing monthly predictions for six years for officers in THS account because of schooling. Assignments are Permanent Change of Station (PCS), Temporary Duty (TDY) Enroute, or TDY and Return. Therefore, if 30% of majors attend Officer Education System (OES) as a PCS or TDY Enroute, the THS account sees a man-year increase of between 166 and 552 personnel. For CCC, if 30% of captains attend CCC as PCS/TDY Enroute, THS shows a man-year decrease of between 1162 and 1171. When the new BOLC education system was simulated, the THS account showed a man-year increase of between 172 and 242 when compared to the current OBC.

With rapid expansion in knowledge streams over the last few years, the role of relevant education models and mechanisms have become increasingly important. Smarter Learning Management Systems (LMS) devised to enable student learnings at the university level have proven to be effective, yet the previous research points to the lack of employers’ perspective in the design of such systems. To bridge the existing gaps in the learning management systems, this study applied Design Science Research Methodology to design and develop an LMS artefact. This informed by the analysis of qualitative data collected from a random sample of students in graduate and post-graduate programs and teachers from universities in Melbourne, Australia. This artefact is a mobile-based application named Student Career Assistance System (SCAS). SCAS was designed, developed and evaluated in accordance with the DSR methodologies towards creating a solution which caters to the information and learning needs of the students, teachers and employers in an integrated manner. This thesis by publication consists of four papers. Article 1 developed a theoretical analysis based on the Smart Education concept under which a systematic literature review is conducted. The purpose of this work is to provide a theoretical foundation for an initial innovative approach called Students Career Assistance System (SCAS) by describing the present state of Smart Education research. Article 2 initialises the concept of developing a cloud based collective platform with industry involvement in the Learning systems. Article 3 builds and assesses a novel idea of mobile-based learning technology for strengthening current LMS techniques using and assessing Design Science Research Methodology. For this a pilot study has been conducted and interviewed stakeholders. Article 4 details the design research and process towards development of an integrated learning management system and its evaluation using qualitative findings. Qualitative research conducted with user groups both revealed and confirmed the lack of integration of employability functions in existing learning management systems. In case of select systems with employment functions, lack of awareness regarding the same was reported by both students and teachers. Additionally, it was found that separate employment platforms deployed in the institutions were also not being used by the students because of lack of awareness, thereby making a stronger case for inclusion of the employment functionality within the primary LMS. This can allow students to seamlessly greater clarity regarding career pathways after graduation. In fact, students reported lack of clarity about career pathways after graduation because of lack of exposure to the industry employers. Certain functionalities of SCAS like ‘Jobs’ and ‘Portfolios’ also have the potential of saving time and money resources for different user-groups. This study also outlines key areas for the investigation which primarily include security concerns such as data integrity, information confidentiality and entity authentication for data availability. This study concludes through an evaluation of the SCAS artefact, deriving insights and recommendations for further development of the artefact. The key recommendations include integration of existing online products and services to address the privacy and security concerns of the user groups in a manner that enables the platform in facilitating dynamic conversations between the students, teachers and employers.

With the great development of information technology, people’s life and internet had been connected inseparably. Candidates use cyberized electronic resumes and find jobs on the internet instead of using handwritten resume and typing the information into computers. There are many websites for seeking jobs on the market so far. The websites have become the most common way which the enterprises and candidates use in Taiwan. The competition between one another is getting stronger. And the options for the public are much more various. In recent years, the rate of university enrollment and the unemployment rate of after-graduated university is rising substantially. It makes the public wonder if the higher education provides enough employability. The research surveyed the requirements of users according to the aspects of user’s requirements to deploy and design by Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Questionnaire, by consulting the literature review and the website of career, and reduced the assessment projects by analyzing the factors. Then use pairwise comparison with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to proceed importance analysis. Look out for the importance sorting of user’s requirements, and use the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to plan the related strategies. According to the research result, the most five important appraisal projects of the Career Assistance System are 1.Member mechanisms (8.911), 2.Encryption and decryption mechanism (7.943), 3.Screen layout (3.269), 4.fire wall (2.675) and 5.Introduction (2.476). The research provides a reference for schools to build up the Career Assistance System. Hoping we could know the requirements of users, and make the students able to use more efficient service.

In 2017, e-sports has been included as part of the sport industry. E-sports share the same right with other sports. As a result, lots of schools have set up on well-establish education system to train lots of outstanding e-sports players. However, Taiwan already has a system of sport class in the current system. Compared to the traditional sport, e-sports is so unique that it needs an particular education system to train players. The career of professional e-sports players is quite short. Although e-sports has become the one of the sports in Taiwan, people still consider e-sports negative and useless. Therefore, the bad impression about e-sports also has negative influence on the players’ future career. Due the this fact, it is essential for e-sports players to set up a well-established plan for their own future during the semester. This study aims to explore problems and development of e-sports education system. Furthermore, the career planning of e-sports students are also investigated. The current research applies qualitative research method to collect research data. Students from three different schools, which have e-sport education system, are interviewed and observed in the research. The research results show that Chinese Taipei e-Sports Association and companies have developed three kinds of systems, including namely, e-sports Class, e-sports feature enrollment and e-sports eugenics system to solve the lack of education resources. through the industry-university cooperation, the e-sports will be brought into the school. Through the cooperation, e-sports systems will be brought to schools properly. Moreover, these three different systems help students to make prosperous future plans. Although there are e-sports students in the sport class, they don’t consider e-sports the only choice for their high school career. Instead, they learn knowledge and skills from e-sports. On the other hand, their future career plans would not be restricted and they can plan their future, through other relevant ways.

This study is based on the concept of human capital accumulation to develop the imagination of the future recruitment policy. In the early stage, Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory and Herzberg's motivational health theory were used to demonstrate another feasible approach to the current military recruitment policy, with an iceberg model. To take stock of the explicit characteristics and implicit qualities of the existing military personnel, and to use the stakeholders "parents", "student", "military" and "instructors" to conduct political, economic, administrative and legal studies. Four institutions, including the military, the media, and the school, are the main factors affecting the current military policy. In addition, the research findings suggest that "the influence of bureaucratic system and institutional rigidity", "the influence of military environment and culture and media communication", "military and school" "Impact of management norms and systems", "The impact of electoral culture and political atmosphere", and the study proposes the development of "establishing third-party recruitment agencies", "re-examining the national defense education and the practice of opening the day camp", and The integration and improvement of institutional regulations, etc., the military's future recruitment policy can be referenced by three suggestions. One concept, four orientations, four discoveries, and three recommendations are concatenated.

Анотація:
The professional development of a career counselling intern on a satellite campus at a distance education institution was facilitated with the use of a heutagogic learning strategy. The heutagogic learning process was recorded by reflective writing based on Kolb's experiential learning model. This research is a disquisition of the reflective dataset. The research is an autoethnographic case study in the constructionist paradigm with a creative analysis process. During the research process features about the benefits of heutagogic learning in the professional development of the career counselling intern were critically constructed. The findings of the research are captured in memescapes showing mindset changes and mental transformations on patterns which describe the theory-praxis gap, diversity, wellness, the macro-ethic. The recommendations include the hope that these findings will feed through to inform future career counselling internships in the IOP field.

Faced with the influx of emerging technologies, educators must continuously equip themselves with the necessary skills to effectively impact on today’s learners. Central to successful curriculum reform and student retention is the realisation that educators need to engage in continuous professional development, to meet the learners’ needs. The purpose of this research study is to explore and study how educators’ skills, knowledge and experience in e-learning can contribute to the successful achievement of the institution’s and students’ educational goals and to the design of a quality support system in an ODeL environment in a developing country. A mixed-method research approach was adopted. The target population was the University of South Africa (Unisa) academic staff members who enrolled for an elearning programme with the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) between the year 2012 and 2014. Convenience non-probability sampling was used and a total of 60 candidates were invited to participate in the study. Most of the participants pointed to the empathetic support they received from the relevant UMUC staff and also indicated that they are now ready to create an empathetic learning environment for their own students at Unisa. It is the premise of this paper that academics cannot impart and/or transfer what they do not have or know to learners and it gives recommendations on striving towards an effective empathetic students support in distance education and e-learning continuous professional development to effectively impact on today’s learners. The importance of pace, assignment due dates, use of rubrics, turnaround time for feedback, built-in support, and appropriate assessment strategies are also key findings in the report.

The purpose of this study is to tell the story of how four peer helpers within the Unisa Peer Help Volunteer Programme managed their portfolio development processes to monitor their growth and development which took place as a result of their involvement in peer helper activities. The epistemological framework of this study is interpretive and involved in-depth interviews with four peer helpers who rendered volunteer services at the University of South Africa and have been developing their career portfolios over a period of time. Hermeneutics was the method used to analyse the data. The stories of the four participants were transcribed and retold by the researcher in the form of themes that emerged. This study contained the stories of how the participants initially struggled to understand the concept and purpose of portfolios; how they took charge of the process; and how their attitudes changed from uncertainty and confusion to viewing the process as worthwhile - thus enabling them to commit themselves, to varying degrees, to the development of their individual portfolios. Recurring themes present in all four stories were described in the researcher's story of the participants' stories. The information generated by this study could serve as guidelines for not only peer helpers interested in developing their own portfolios, but also for project leaders involved in the management of peer helper groups and who plan to implement portfolios in their programmes.

A decision support system (DSS) was constructed to assist the academic advising staff of a college of business. The microcomputer-based system identifies any remaining unsatisfied degree program requirements, selects courses in which the student can enroll and then prioritizes them. Advisors are then able to spend time on more substantive or developmental advising issues, such as choice of electives, career options and life career goals. Using this system, a student with a minimum of computer knowledge can obtain an optimized course listing without the assistance of a human advisor in less than five minutes. A high-end spreadsheet (i.e., DSS generator) permits a workable and effective academic advising DSS. The database is the most significant part of this DSS. And, since the modeling component is difficult to separate from the structure of the data itself, a database management system might be a better choice as the DSS generator. This platform would provide a more flexible user interface as well as superior data handling capability but at some sacrifice in cost and implementation time.

Student modeling and cognitively diagnostic assessment are important issues that need to be addressed for the development and successful application of intelligent tutoring systems (its). Its needs the construction of complex models to represent the skills that students are using and their knowledge states, and practitioners want cognitively diagnostic information at a finer grained level. This chapter reviews our effort on modeling student’s knowledge in the ASSISTment project. Intelligent tutors have been mainly used to teach students. In the ASSISTment project, we have emphasized using the intelligent tutoring system as an assessment system that provides instructional assistance during the test. Usually it is believed that assessment get harder if students are allowed to learn during the test, as its then like try to hit a moving target. So our results are surprising that by providing tutoring to students while they are assessed we actually prove the assessment of students’ knowledge. Additionally, in this article, we present encouraging results about a fine-grained skill model with that system that is able to predict state test scores. We conclude that using intelligent tutoring systems to do assessment seems like a reasonable way of dealing with the dilemma that every minute spent testing students takes time away from instruction.

The interest in using mobile robots in education has increased over the last two decades, as it is a multidisciplinary exercise in which the student needs to apply different subjects related to robotics, control engineering, software engineering, and electronics. In this chapter, the design and development of a mobile robot focused on the assistance to people with restricted mobility is detailed. This application of the service robot in the assistance field has to be developed by the students of the last course of the Automatic Control and Electronic Engineering Career at the Engineering Faculty of Bilbao, resulting in a fully functional prototype. The aim of this design is to integrate the knowledge acquired through different subjects in order to design and develop a functional, low-cost assistance robot in the service robotics field.

The aim of this work is to help university applicants in their transition phase from high-school to tertiary education starting with their first life-long decision concerning their choice of the field of study. The construction of the decision support system has evolved into an ontology-based model. The model, as well as the decision making rules, have been formulated based on the research study of the cohort of 69000 students of the University of Alicante between 2010 and 2018. The educational and psychological processes have been studied in order to identify the pivot moments and the factors that may lead to an adequate decision making or to an objectively wrong decision which eventually ends up in a drop-out of studies. Analysing the existing methods of occupational and educational choice assistance, the method of John L. Holland on “A Psychological Classification of Occupations” has been selected as the most viable and convenient for this purpose. The Holland Codes have been adopted as a lingua franca of this ontology-based model. As a result, the ontology-based decision support system provides assistance in decision making using the Holland Code terminology and practically unlimited complexity of the object and data properties of and ontological presentation of knowledge.

The potential drawbacks that globalization might have on education are increasing and becoming a main worry. The number of international students is increasing and students’ mobility is becoming a crucial phenomenon to obtain a good degree and secure a decent job. Universities have tripled their efforts to recruit and attract international students but their educational ecosystem is still missing some fundamentals. Ensuring that all international students are admitted using an adapted automated admission system, receiving assistance and decent welcome from international faculty and staff, and building their career after are factors that reduce the negative impacts of globalization in education. This paper presents our Decision Support System using knowledge management (KM) approach and AI techniques contributing to achieve those fundamentals and reduce its impacts.

The article analyzes the results of the survey of 75 lecturers on using learning content management system (LCMS) Moodle in the educational process. It is defined that more than 75% of the respondents use LCMS Moodle. The lecturers up to 30 or over 60 years old, with up to 3-year-work experience in Universities need methodic assistance. Textual e-learning resources are widely used in developed courses while video and audio are not used enough. LCMS Moodle is mostly used during exams or tests and student work, and using LCMS Moodle should be intensified in lectures, laboratory and practical classes. Among the most demanded resources are label, page, file, URL, book, assignment, attendance, glossary, quiz. Thus, the popularization of other resources is identified as one of the most important. The early years of a teacher’s career are crucial to the formation of their professional identity—a complex process of reconciling their personal attributes with the demands of the profession. This study explores the identity formation of novice teachers in Indonesia and seeks to identify the various aspects that shape this process. Specifically, we examine how Indonesia’s current teacher policy landscape affects novice teachers’ perspectives on teaching and their profession. Through a longitudinal bimonthly diary study conducted over two years, we find that the novice teachers’ stories about their identity development revolve around five themes: initial motivation to enter the profession, beliefs about teaching and the teaching profession, satisfaction with working conditions, perceptions about major challenges during the early years, and commitment to the teaching profession and career aspiration. Our findings show that individual teachers’ personal attributes do influence the formation of their identities as teachers, but teacher policies and working conditions influence this process to a greater extent. Without support, novice teachers struggle to navigate the tension between their ideals, limited resources, and inconsistent teacher policies. These findings suggest it is necessary to redefine what it means to be a teacher by characterising the observable qualities of good teaching, linking them to student learning, and rectifying teacher policies in the Indonesian education system to be coherent with these characteristics.

We have seen drastic changes in the music profession during the last 20 years, and consequently an increase of new professional opportunities, roles and identities. We can see elements of a collective identity in classically trained musicians who from childhood have been introduced to centuries old, institutionalized traditions around the performers’ role and the work-concept. Respect for the composer and his work can lead to a fear of failure and a perfectionist value system that permeates the classical music. We have to question whether music education has become a ready-made prototype of certain trajectories, with a predictable outcome represented by more or less generic types of musicians who interchangeably are able play the same, limited canonized repertoire, in more or less the same way. Where is the resistance and obstacles, the detours and the unique and fearless individual choices? It is a paradox that within the traditional master-student model, the student is told how to think, play and relate to established truths, while a sustainable musical career is based upon questioning the very same things. A fundamental principle of an independent musical career is to develop a capacity for critical reflection and a healthy opposition towards uncontested truths. However, the unison demands for modernization of institutions and their role cannot be solved with a quick fix, we must look at who we are and who we have been to look at who we can become. Central here is the question of how the music students perceive their own identity and role. To make the leap from a traditional instrumentalist role to an artist /curator role requires commitment in an entirely different way. In this article, I will examine question of identity - how identity may be constituted through musical and educational experiences. The article will discuss why identity work is a key area in the development of a sustainable music career and it will investigate how we can approach this and suggest some possible ways in this work. We shall see how identity work can be about unfolding possible future selves (Marcus & Nurius, 1986), develop and evolve one’s own personal journey and narrative. Central is how identity develops linguistically by seeing other possibilities: "identity is formed out of the discourses - in the broadest sense - that are available to us ..." (Ruud, 2013). The question is: How can higher music education (HME) facilitate students in their identity work in the process of constructing their professional identities? I draw on my own experience as a classically educated musician in the discussion.

Анотація:
The state of musculoskeletal system incidence of pupils of secondary schools remains a pressing problem in all regions of Ukraine, in spite of significant achievements in this direction. The determination of the readiness of teachers and senior students of pedagogical college for implementation of health-keeping technologies, which are aimed at creating a physiological posture of schoolchildren, to the educational process was conducted by our questioning method. 95% of teachers and 77.6% of students (according to polls) need methodological assistance for effective use of health-keeping technologies. We consider the main task of high school to be an optimization of the informational flow regarding health-keeping during the educational process and adaptation of the ways of presenting information to the perception of modern youth. The self-education has a great value for getting mastery, so it is necessary that a student or a teacher could have a wide access to both literature and electronic media. The Internet conferences, Internet sites, electronic textbooks, computer programs will be useful.
