A controller for hydraulic cylinder driving is designed according to synergetic theory. Based on a cylinder model, the synergetic controller is tested. Simulation results using PI and synergetic control under two kinds of reference input demonstrate that synergetic control is suitable for cylinder driving in MDF hot-pressing because there is no overshoot for tracking. And it is shown that converging speed, affects systems tracking performance.
