Анотація:
This study aims to determine the effect of income, financial behavior, and locus of control on the investment decision making of PNS SD teachers in Buleleng District. This research is a type of quantitative research with a total of 217 respondensts. The data were obtained by distributing questionnaires aimed at elementary school civil servant teachers in Buleleng District. Samples were selected using criteria with purposive sampling technique. The data used is primary data in the form of answers from respondents and processed using SPSS 15.0 for Windowns. The results of this study indicate that income has a significant effect on investment decision making for PNS SD teachers in Buleleng District, financial behavior has a significant effect on investment decision making for PNS SD teachers in Buleleng District, and locus of control has a significant effect on investment decision making for PNS SD teachers in Buleleng District.

Анотація:
This study explores the impetus for and impact of four urban teachers’ extracurricular investments. Framing teacher investment as work voluntarily undertaken with an eye toward bringing about a highly desired, yet highly uncertain, end, we argue that the outcome of these often-hidden investments have identity and career implications for teachers. Through a comparison of two case studies in the southeast and northeast United States, we investigate why and how teachers come to invest themselves in particular extracurricular projects, the identity implications of the investments, and how the ultimate outcome of the investments may influence their decision to stay in or leave the profession. Findings reveal that teachers’ extracurricular investments—either in individual students or whole-school projects—are intimately tied to their identities and career trajectories. Implications are offered for research, teacher education, and policy.

Investing is the best option for maintaining financial security in the future. For most people especially beginners, investing is a very complicated thing and will make it confused to take the right investment decision. All types of investments contain elements of risk. Investor decisions are based on consideration of risk factors and expected gains. The purpose of this activity is to socialize the investment measures for beginners who are teachers and learners. Acquire the right knowledge of trends to buy stocks in the capital market for beginners i.e. teachers and students through live practice in the field. This method of community dedication uses lecture methods, direct demonstrations by the speaker, and questions and answers. The lecture method is used to convey knowledge on how to invest stocks for beginners. Demonstrations are used to provide direct examples of how to buy stocks on the capital markets. The result of this activity shows the participants very enthusiastic during the activities until the training is completed. Participants hope the next year can be given the opportunity to get similar training. Therefore, the investment will not be enough if done once. Keywords: Investing, stocks and beginners

This article revisits private warehouse investment decision making, a topic previously examined in 1989 by McGinnis, Kohn, and Myers (1990). Since then there has been a substantial amount of discussion regarding the scope and nature of logistics /supply chain management. In particular the roles of private, contract, and public warehousing has been discussed, increased emphasis on financial performance and strategic decision making may have altered the criteria for investment decisions in private warehousing, increased coordination of supply chains may have altered the relative importance of private, contract, and private warehousing, and increasing emphasis on controlling inventory investment may have shifted inventory responsibilities onto suppliers and customers. Empirical data was collected in 1999and 2008 regarding warehouse investment decisions in large United State manufacturing firms. This research focused on private warehouse investment decisions, topics that might affect those decisions, and the mix of private, contract, public, and other warehouse options. The results of the 1999 and 2008 data were compared to the earlier findings reported by McGinnis, Kohn, and Myers. Changes in private warehouse investment strategies, the roles of market /product mix uncertainties and availability of for-hire warehouse providers, and changes in warehouse mix were examined. Implications for practitioners, teachers, and researchers of transportation, supply chain management, logistics, and warehousing are discussed.

The United Arab Emirates hires many teachers from abroad to work in both the private and public school systems. Recruiting foreign teachers can be exceedingly costly, especially when one considers the financial investment associate with air fare, health insurance, housing, transportation, and a competitive salary, along with the substantial processing time involved in issuing work visas, professional and intercultural training. One way organizations may be able to save on additional expenditures is to retain the teachers who have been hired and are already settled in the country. Naturally, a substantial part of the decision for the teacher to remain working and living in the UAE lies with the expatriate teacher. This exploratory, case study employed a qualitative approach in which descriptive data was collected from six in-depth, semi-structured interviews exploring job satisfaction as one, of what may be other, indicators associated with of length-of-stay among expatriate teachers in the UAE. These descriptive data were analyzed using an interpretive analysis, which culminated with three selective codes: (1) Leadership and community are key to expatriate teacher’s job satisfaction; (2) School leaders’ engagement in improving behavior management would improve satisfaction; and (3) Positive work-life balance may influence expatriate teachers’ length of stay in the UAE. Taken collectively, this data may assist decision-makers, school leaders, and policy-makers on how to foster environments that promote retention among expatriate teachers in the UAE. Preschool education is the beginning of lifelong learning, an important part of the national educational system, and an important social welfare undertaking. At the same time, as an important public service, preschool education is an important task to realize the adjustment of income redistribution to ensure that its financial investment is in line with fairness. Since 2010, the preschool educational policy in China has clearly been tilted toward rural areas and poverty-stricken areas in the central and western regions. Based on the 2010–2020 China Education Statistical Yearbook data, this study monitors and measures the completion of the formal goals put forward in the policy document and evaluates the effectiveness of the policy based on the comparison of the development levels of preschool education in urban areas, townships, and rural areas in China. The results show that under the effect of preferential policies, preschool educational resources at the township level in China have rapidly expanded and the level of popularization has improved; the number of township kindergarten teachers has been supplemented, and the educational level has been significantly improved. But at the same time, it is found that the advantages of inclusive preschool educational resources in areas with preferential policies are not obvious; inclusive preschool educational resources are obviously insufficient; and the proportion of children studying in private kindergartens is increasing year by year. The number of kindergarten teachers is still in short supply, and the ratio of students to teachers in rural kindergartens is much higher than in urban areas. The gap in teacher levels is still very large.

Purpose This paper aims to understand the Return on Investment (ROI) of academic libraries. It shows different aspects of returns on investment from academic libraries (ROI concept, components, calculating ROI). The study helps the academic libraries to know the efficiency, performance and achievement in terms of students, research scholars, teachers and staff should be enhanced to increase returns on library investment. Design/methodology/approach This research paper discusses various formulas for calculating ROI from the academic library, like the general ROI formula, the concept of origin ROI's formula and models. However, the study set forth some of the limitations. The study is limited to the ROI analysis of academic Libraries. It is believed that study may be helpful to the libraries to understand the concept of return on investment to offer better library services. Findings The study helps understands the concept of return on investment from academic libraries and services. In times of economic crisis and budgetary constraints, Library Advocacy needs to determine the economic value of resources in institutions to assist in decision-making. This paper presents more extensive study aimed at recognizing the importance of academic libraries. The economic and social pressure to affirm the position of libraries in academic libraries depends on demonstrating their importance, especially in terms of return on investment. Though it is important to get insight into returns, it has several challenges which are outlined and discussed. Originality/value This research can also be useful in decision-making, library collection development and system analysis of the institutional library. ROI presents an essential parameter for increasing the ranking system of the institution. ROI is considered the most important metrics for evaluating the value of libraries is the return on investment.

The paper explicates the immediate concern of gaining a deeper insight of language acquisition in the early childhood bilingualism in the setting of Pontianak city, a multi-ethnic city located in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. It is written through descriptive method or library research to provide the readers, especially the parents and teachers with better insights into a basis for decision making about raising and educating children bilingually. The first part elaborates on four myths, namely the myth of the monolingual brain, the myth of time investment, the myth of bilingualism and language impairment; and the myth of minority language children. It is followed by the argumentative support by the experts in the fields based on the literature review. Next, discussions are presented as a whole, pointing out some of significant implications for parents and teachers. Finally, an overall conclusion of the paper coverage is provided.

AbstractThis article focusses on the motivating factors behind the decision of first-year students in the French Immersion Studies (FIS) program at the University of Ottawa to continue their immersion studies at a university level, how they experience their studies within this program, and how this experience impacts their identity and investment in French language and culture. The findings presented are part of a study that demonstrates the positive influence that parents, teachers and relevant extracurricular experiences have on students’ decision to continue their immersion studies as well as the transformations of the students’ identity construction and investment which are enhanced through the FIS program, the bilingual environment which surrounds it, and students` activities.Keywords: motivation, identity, investment, French Immersion Studies RésuméCet article porte sur les facteurs qui ont motivé des étudiants en première année d’études à s’inscrire au programme du Régime d’Immersion Française (RIF) de l’Université d’Ottawa afin de poursuivre leurs études en immersion au niveau universitaire, leurs expériences dans ce programme ainsi que l’impact que ce programme a sur leur identité et investissement dans la langue et la culture françaises. This study aims to explore the differences in current vocational teachers' money attitudes and investment decisions via different background variables. To achieve the research purpose, a questionnaire was designed to collect vocational teachers' money attitudes and investment decisions. The total effective samples of 286 survey were from vocational teachers in northern, southern, and eastern Taiwan. All responses were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation。 According to the results, this study can be concluded as follows: 1) vocational high school teachers’ money attitudes tend to be "retention-time" and their investment decisions were made mostly by the "investment familiarity”; 2) more male than female vocational teachers prefer the "power-prestige", "investor confidence", and "profits " on the investment decisions; 3) northern Taiwanese vocational teachers’ money attitude tend to be more "power-prestige" and the "investor confidence" affects their decision-making than those in the central and southern Taiwan; 4) the money attitudes of vocational teachers teaching general common subjects tend to be more "anxiety-distrust" and the investment decisions rely on the "investment information " than those teaching business; 5) junior vocational high school teachers’ money attitudes tend to be more "anxiety-distrust" and "investment information" in their investment decisions than senior teachers; 6) single vocational teachers’ money attitude tend to be more "power-prestige", "investment familiarity", "investment information", and "profits" investment decision-making, than married teachers; 7)vocational teachers' money attitudes and investment decisions have a significant positive correlation. In sum, on the basis of the results, this study is to provide recommendations for higher vocational teachers as well as a reference for future research.

Nowadays, pushing education reform forward, social values is changed, and education towards diversified development, so that elementary school teachers must take on different responsibilities in previous education. Be confronted with birthrate declining that school operations significantly reduced classes. Teachers need to face over-quota issue. Therefore, the pressure on teachers is more and more severe. In the education workplace, they are more and more unhappy. In the waves of the financial tsunami crisis, elementary school teachers have a more stable salary than private employees, but relatively inelastic fixed salaries, and less salary magnitude adjustment. With interest rates remaining low along with rising inflation, avoiding these facts will not stop the impact of a higher cost of living. Therefore, this research aims to understand the elementary school teacher current condition about happiness and financial investment decisions, and explore the relationship between these two factors. In this study, taking teachers who teach in elementary school in Miao-Li County as the principal subject, collecting data by questionnaires issued a total of 410 questionnaires, 386 were returned, and effective rate is 94.1%. Conclusions of this research are as follows: (1) The average value about happiness of elementary school teachers is 3.93 and 3.22 about financial investment decisions. (2) The variables such like "marital status", "teaching position"," years of service" and "average monthly income" are significantly difference. (3) There is no significant difference about different demographic background on financial investment decisions. (4) Happiness has a positive effect on financial investment decisions. (5) "Financial investment decisions" effected by the four perspectives of happiness: life satisfaction, self-affirmation, interpersonal relationship, physical and mental health condition are significant. The results of this research can provide reference for the authorities and relevant organization.

This study aimed to explore the influences of attitudes toward risks and investment decisions on choices of financial management tools and the differences in attitudes toward risks and investment decisions among teachers of different backgrounds. This study adopted the questionnaire survey method and developed a "questionnaire for attitudes toward risks" as a tool to collect data. The research subjects were private high school teachers in Taoyuan County. According to the results of the data analyses, the conclusions of this study include: 1.Private high school teachers of different genders were significantly different in their attitudes toward risks. 2.Private high school teachers of different genders, ages, marital statuses, or years of service were significantly different in their investment decisions. 3.Private high school teachers of different educational backgrounds or teaching subjects were not significantly different in their choices of financial management tools. 4.Private high school teachers of different attitudes toward risks were significantly different in their preferences for stocks and funds. 5.In Taoyuan County, male private high school teachers preferred risks more than female ones. All their investment decision related scores were higher than female teachers. Male teachers preferred stocks and foreign exchanges, while female teachers preferred investment-linked policies as financial management tools. 6.Because private high school teachers were usually very busy doing their daily works, they tended to ignore the "information sources" aspect while choosing a financial management tool, especially female ones. Therefore, private high school teachers can still make some improvement in their attention to information sources.

The conceptual and methodological foundations of analytical support for corporate finance management are developed, based on the definition of investment policy, its implementation through investment business planning and identification and assessment of financial risks in the framework of achieving strategic goals related to the modernization of Russian corporations. The monograph examines the most important elements of the modern concept of interpretation of international treaties, examines the history of the formation of the concept of interpretation of international treaties in doctrine and international practice, suggests approaches to conceptualizing the nature of interpretation of treaties, taking into account the provisions of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties of 1969. Along with scientific and theoretical aspects, practical aspects of the interpretation of an international treaty are disclosed. The features of the interpretation of an international treaty in the practice of international organizations, including international integration organizations, international judicial bodies (ECHR, international judicial bodies for maritime disputes, the International Criminal Court, the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union) are analyzed, individual doctrines of treaty interpretation (evolutionary interpretation, interpretation of contextual elements) are investigated. The peculiarities of the interpretation of international investment treaties are revealed, the problems of the interpretation of international treaties in the decisions of international commercial arbitration are identified, the place of the interpretation of treaties in the concept of comparative international law is investigated. The concept of interpretation of international treaties by national judicial bodies of states with the involvement of the practice of Russian courts is proposed. For researchers, teachers, students and postgraduates of law schools and faculties, as well as anyone interested in the problems of modern international law.

Heralded by the release of government policies such as Vision 2021, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has joined the worldwide impetus for the integration of Information Communications Technologies (ICTs) into its K-12 education system as a central plank of reforms to its economy and education system. This presents challenges for schools in both public and private sectors in the UAE as they strive to adhere to national government and local education authority guidelines and standards for educational innovation. Whilst the UAE Government has invested heavily to support technology integration in public schools, private schools must fund their own technology integration initiatives. In a context of strong growth in the private K-12 sector and reported high teacher turnover rates, private school leadership faces particular challenges related to decision-making about investment in suitable technologies and support systems, including teachers‖ professional development. This chapter reports some preliminary findings from a qualitative case study investigating the teacher, school and system-wide factors impacting on technology integration in selected private schools located in four Emirates. The study combines policy analysis with semi-structured interviews of a purposive sample of private school K-12 educators to yield a detailed understanding of the challenges faced by private sector UAE schools in implementing technology integration in response to national government policy directives. The findings will inform the development of an implementation framework providing guidance regarding critical success factors for effective technology integration in private schools with particular implications for school leadership and teachers‖ professional learning.

This case study explores the teaching and learning of Arabic at one Catholic university campus, with a focus upon the complex interactions between language and culture in a postmodern globalized context. Specifically, it examines the use of “multimodal culture portfolios” as a means to engage students both linguistically and culturally in classroom and community discourses. Through their interactions and co-construction of knowledge with other participants, these students are led to think about the multiple communicative contexts that are shaping and being shaped by them. Data collection was conducted through survey questionnaires and students' responses to the assigned culture portfolio. The participants were made up of students enrolled in first year Arabic courses during the 2012 spring semester. The purpose of this exploratory case is to attempt to understand students' investments in Arabic and their cultural knowledge of the Arab world pre and post their enrollment in the Arabic courses. It also seeks to understand their socialization into the culture assignment and the main challenges they faced in accessing, interacting with, and reflecting upon cultural aspects related to the Arab world. This study's findings are significant for enriching the general conversation on intercultural proficiency in classroom discourse, curricular decisions, roles and challenges of teachers, and the involvement in target language communities, particularly in less commonly taught languages such as Arabic.

In this research, the authors are investigating the way how the governmental authorities in Romania approached in the first decade of the interwar period the problem of reforming the pre-university education system. Its reorganization was very important for two basic reasons: it had to ensure the national unitary character of the state and, at the same time, it had to have a decisional influence for the development direction of the new state: conservative-traditionalist (peasant) or progressive (industrialized). The principles that stood at the base of the educational policy in Romania during the discussed period, debated and analyzed by the politicians of that time, by the decision-makers, teachers, parents, specialists etc., is an important concern in today's society, given the urgent need to achieve a profound change in today's Romanian pre-university education system. The importance of the study resides from the wish to stretch those Romanian educational traditions necessary to project and implement of a curricula reform today, which should correspond both to the expectations of students, parents and the economic and social needs of contemporary society. Investing in the education system was a matter of national priority because the school was considered a tool for building the Romanian nation in the new geopolitical context. There have been massive investments in expanding the school infrastructure in terms of primary and secondary education, but also in increasing the number of teachers. In 1922 the share of public education expenditures in the state budget expenditures was 10.1%, and in 1928 it rose to 13.4%.

An Analysis of National Patterns of Learning Platform Use by Students in Schools and Academies in the United Kingdom The United Church Schools Trust and the United Learning Trust comprise a national group of 12 independent schools and 17 academies across a wide range of geographic and demographic areas of England. In 2008, the decision to implement a learning platform (also known as a Virtual Learning Environment or VLE) across the group was made. Although a fully supported technical solution was provided along with a sustained programme of continuous professional development, the decision as to how the learning platform was to be used was owned by each individual school and academy according to its own priorities. The learning platform chosen was itslearning©, developed in Bergen University College in Norway and now adopted across a wide range of educational establishments. As a cloud-based product, itslearning offered a number of attractive potential benefits. Now that the learning platform is embedded in many of the schools and academies with consistent, sustained usage in areas of excellence, it has been decided to undertake research into how the learning platform is being used and what strategic and implementation lessons can be learned so far. A survey has been consequently undertaken of 1000 students into how they used the learning platform and what their perceptions were about it as a vehicle for teaching and learning. The survey was based on the most commonly used features of the learning platform and was conducted online using the built-in survey tools of itslearning. This paper will report back on the findings of the survey, indicating those elements of the online learning environment that students themselves found most useful. It will discuss issues relating to pedagogy, learning styles, functionality and will also analyse those particular subjects in which the learning platform were found to be most useful. In particular the paper will analyse how the use of a learning platform has changed the nature of teaching and learning. Now that the learning platform is embedded in many of the schools and academies with consistent, sustained usage in areas of excellence, it has been decided to undertake research into how the learning platform is being used and what strategic and implementation lessons can be learned so far. A survey has been consequently undertaken of 1000 students into how they used the learning platform and what their perceptions were about it as a vehicle for teaching and learning.
