Анотація:
This paper addresses a problem, due to human wearing clothes, in an appearance-based eigenspace technique called a dress effect in case of recognizing human postures. The dress effect in the eigenspace arises when a man/woman wears different texture-dress between training and testing stages. This study investigates that change of dresses creates the cloth's oriented eigenspace and it affects the robustness of an eigenspace technique. The dress effect is investigated in this paper employing various dress environments and image pre-processing by Sobel-edge filter is proposed in this paper for overcoming this problem. The application of Sobel-edge images over training and testing images creates an almost similar eigenspace of different models/persons, even changing the clothes. Promising obtained results are shown in terms of a numerical analysis, with a graphical representation of various eigenspaces and recognition rates in the performed experiments.

Анотація:
This study aims to reveal an overview of the application of andragogical principles in training, the learning outcomes of the training participants to sew clothes, and reveal the relationship between the application of andragogical principles and the learning outcomes of the training participants to sew clothes based on the initial observations that the author has made, located at Balai Work Training (BLK) in Padang. The results of the observations show that the high learning outcomes of the training participants are thought to be caused by the application of andragogical principles to the sewing training. This type of research is a correlational study that uses a quantitative approach. The population in this study was the training participants in sewing clothes for the January-March period this year. The sampling technique is saturated sampling and the sample is the whole population. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire and the tools used were questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the percentage formula and the Spearman Rho formula. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the application of andragogical principles in sewing good clothes; 2) the learning outcomes of the training participants to sew clothes are classified as good; 3) there is a significant relationship between the application of andragogical principles and learning outcomes in sewing training at the Vocational Training Center (BLK) in Padang. The suggestion of this research is that it is hoped that the instructor can deepen knowledge in teaching adults so that the results obtained are more optimal. Abstract Objectives A sample with a blood clot may produce an inaccurate outcome in coagulation testing, which may mislead clinicians into making improper clinical decisions. Currently, there is no efficient method to automatically detect clots. This study demonstrates the feasibility of utilizing machine learning (ML) to identify clotted specimens. Methods The results of coagulation testing with 192 clotted samples and 2,889 no-clot-detected (NCD) samples were retrospectively retrieved from a laboratory information system to form the training dataset and testing dataset. Standard and momentum backpropagation neural networks (BPNNs) were trained and validated using the training dataset with a five-fold cross-validation method. The predictive performances of the models were then assessed based on the testing dataset. Results Our results demonstrated that there were intrinsic distinctions between the clotted and NCD specimens regarding differences in the testing results and the separation of the groups (clotted and NCD) in the t-SNE analysis. The standard and momentum BPNNs could identify the sample status (clotted and NCD) with areas under the ROC curves of 0.966 (95% CI, 0.958–0.974) and 0.971 (95% CI, 0.9641–0.9784), respectively. Conclusions Here, we have described the application of ML algorithms in identifying the sample status based on the results of coagulation testing. This approach provides a proof-of-concept application of ML algorithms to evaluate the sample quality, and it has the potential to facilitate clinical laboratory automation.

The impression of mental retardation as a person who is not independent has been refuted when we see the state of the village caring for the mentally disabled in the village of Simbatan, Nguntoronadi, Kab. Magetan. Mentally retarded people in Simbatan Village were gathered together by the village government and social services and were given training in making “batik ciprat”. The research aims to describe the existence of mental retardation in the village of Simbatan in making “batik ciprat”. This research is descriptive qualitative, by obtaining research data through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research results showed that people with mental retardation in Simbatan were able to produce works in the form of “batik ciprat”. “batik ciprat” is made by splashing “malam” (batik coloring material) into the cloth using a brush. “batik ciprat” was chosen because it allows retardation to do it easily. In addition to producing “batik ciprat” works, other works produced in the form of table cloths and cloth shoes with “batik ciprat” motif.

Purpose The big challenge in apparel recommendation system research is not the exploration of machine learning technologies in fashion, but to really understand clothes, fashion and people, and know what to learn. The purpose of this paper is to explore an advanced apparel style learning and recommendation system that can recognise deep design-associated features of clothes and learn the connotative meanings conveyed by these features relating to style and the body so that it can make recommendations as a skilled human expert. Design/methodology/approach This study first proposes a type of new clothes style training data. Second, it designs three intelligent apparel-learning models based on newly proposed training data including ATTRIBUTE, MEANING and the raw image data, and compares the models’ performances in order to identify the best learning model. For deep learning, two models are introduced to train the prediction model, one is a convolutional neural network joint with the baseline classifier support vector machine and the other is with a newly proposed classifier later kernel fusion. Findings The results show that the most accurate model (with average prediction rate of 88.1 per cent) is the third model that is designed with two steps, one is to predict apparel ATTRIBUTEs through the apparel images, and the other is to further predict apparel MEANINGs based on predicted ATTRIBUTEs. The results indicate that adding the proposed ATTRIBUTE data that captures the deep features of clothes design does improve the model performances (e.g. from 73.5 per cent, Model B to 86 per cent, Model C), and the new concept of apparel recommendation based on style meanings is technically applicable. Originality/value The apparel data and the design of three training models are originally introduced in this study. The proposed methodology can evaluate the pros and cons of different clothes feature extraction approaches through either images or design attributes and balance different machine learning technologies between the latest CNN and traditional SVM.

Children who are weighed for growth monitoring are frequently clothed, especially in the cold weather. Health workers commonly estimate and subtract the weight of these clothes, but the accuracy of these estimates is unknown. We assessed the accuracy of child weights adjusted for estimated clothing typical of hot, cold, and extremely cold ambient temperatures. Trained field workers weighed a sample of 212 children 6 to 42 months old from the ViSION project, adjusted the weights using a job aid describing the weights of common clothing by season and age, and then weighed the clothing to calculate the actual clothing and child weights. Fieldworker estimates of the weight of the clothing that children wore during weighing were remarkably good. In nearly all cases (207 of 212; 97.7%), the difference between the estimated and actual clothing weight was less than the precision of the child scales (± 50 g), and most (181 of 212; 84.5%) were within 25 g. Thus, the calculated child weights were, in fact, equivalent to the actual child weights. Using simulations, we found that improperly accounting for clothing weight can overestimate weight-for-age by 0.1 to 0.4 Z score. Accurate weights are possible, even under adverse conditions. Our training methods, clothing album, and job aid might benefit nutrition research and programming in Viet Nam as well as settings with colder climates.

The purpose this training activities is to provide skills for neglected and drop-out children at PPSA Taruna Yodha Sukoharjo in making clothing decorations with hapa zome techniques and marketplace marketing. Currently, there is an eco fashion trend in society. Clothes with hapa zome decorative techniques are considered unique but not many have made them. Hapa zome material can easily be obtained from plants in the environment which is usually as weeds. The activities carried out by the method of lectures, tutorials, practice and product evaluation. The activity ran smoothly, the atmosphere was fun and the participant’s interest in participating in the training was very high. The participants seemed able to develop various models of natural decoration on clothes and mix them with embroidery techniques. This training has the impact of increasing the participant's ability to make clothing decorations with the hapa zome technique and to understand several marketplace marketing techniques. The research objective was to determine the effect of brand image, product quality and price towards buying interest Arawaza brand karate clothes. This research is a quantitative and explanatory research. The population is athletes and trainers of karate athletes in Palembang City and wear karate baju from various brands in training activities and karate competitions both inside and outside the city of Palembang. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, namely athletes or athlete coaches who wear the Arawaza karate baju in training activities and karate competitions both inside and outside Palembang City. The number of samples was 58 respondents. The data used were primary data. The data collection technique is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with classical assumptions, the coefficient of determination and hypothesis testing. The result of this research is that simultaneously the brand image, product quality and price have a significant effect on buying interest, partially both brand image and product quality have a significant effect on buying interest and partially the price has no significant effect on the intention to buy Awaraza brand karate clothes. The regression equation concludes that brand image and product quality have a positive effect on purchase intention and price has a negative effect on purchase intention. The coefficient of determination shows that the variable brand image, product quality and price can explain the variable buying interest for Arawaza brand karate clothes by 90.1% while the remaining value of 9.9% is explained by other variables not involved in the research model.

Jambi is a part of Malay history and customs, therefore Songket fabrics become a common viewduring wedding or royal events. Over time, Songket cloth has become part of the social life used byall strata of the society. This condition makes Songket initiated the establishment of a group ofsmall and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Jambi, dedicated for Songket manufacturing and selling.The effort to develop local culture as a national asset is a duty for all Indonesian people, includingJambi University through the “Darma of Dedication to the community”. Community serviceprogram initiated by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education through thescheme of Export Product Development Program (PPPE) aims at conducting guidance andassistance for Jambi’s Songket SMEs through product diversification in order to increase thebusiness of SMEs. The methods of assistance used for SMEs include lectures, discussions,training, demonstrations, mentoring and program evaluation. Lectures, discussions, demonstrationsand training were conducted to increase the knowledge about diversification of products madefrom Songket. Further assistance was done for all the discussions that had been given. To measurethe success of the program, the team would conduct an evaluation from the beginning until the endof the program. The assistance provided by the PPPE of University of Jambi to SME partners ofJambi’s Songket business was able to produce wallets, ladies handbags, tracks, clothes, seatcushions, frames and sandals. The strategy of product diversification is able to increase therevenue for the SME involved.

Purpose – For self-training of nursing students, this paper developed a mannequin to simulate and measure the movement of a patient’s arms while nurses changed the patient’s clothes on a bed. In addition, using the mannequin the purpose of this paper is to determine the difference in the handling of a patient’s arms between nursing teachers and students. Design/methodology/approach – The target patient was an old man with complete paralysis. Three-degrees-of-freedom (DOF) shoulder joints and one-DOF elbow joints were applied to the mannequin. The angles of all joints were measured using a potentiometer, and those angles were transmitted to a computer via Bluetooth. Findings – In a preliminary experiment, the two nursing teachers confirmed that the mannequin arms simulated the motion of the arms of a paralyzed patient. In the experiment, two teachers and six students changed the clothes of the mannequin. The average joint angle of the left elbow and the moving frequency of the left elbow, right shoulder adduction/abduction and right shoulder internal/external rotation were lower in the case of teachers dressing the mannequin than when students were dressing it. Originality/value – The proposed system can simulate a completely paralyzed patient that nursing students would normally be almost unable to train with. Additionally, the proposed approach can reveal differences between skilled and non-skilled people in the treatment of a patient’s body.

Den rådande pandemin, Covid-19, förändrade samhällets syn och behov av konsumtion. I och med att fler började arbeta hemifrån och skolan utfördes på distans, blev efterfrågan på bekväma kläder allt högre. Eftersom att det inte längre gick att sysselsätta sig socialt och träffa andra människor fick människor lära sig att sysselsätta sig på andra sätt. Statistiken visar att produktgruppen träningskläder ökat kraftigt under 2020 och har fortsatt in i 2021. Fler människor valde att prioritera sin fysiska hälsa och fick upp ögonen för träning. Förutom att pandemin påverkade samhället och konsumtionen i stort påverkade det även människan på individnivå, vilket resulterade i förändrade sätt att yttra sin identitet på. Just konsumtionen blir av stor vikt när människan ska kunna bearbeta sin identitet, men när begränsningar i samhället uppkommer tvingas människan att tänka om kring dess konsumtionsval. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur konsumenters identitetsprojekt påverkas till bakgrund av pandemin. Mer specifikt har vi valt att fokusera på att förstå hur träningskläder har haft betydelse för konsumenters identitetsprojekt under pandemin. Det är av intresse att undersöka förändringar inom konsumentbeteende- och identitet för att kunna kartlägga hur konsumenter blir påverkade när de tvingas anpassa sig till samhällsförändringar och krissituationer. Studiens forskningsfrågor: • Hur har pandemin covid-19 påverkat konsumentens identitetsprojekt? • Vilken betydelse har träningskläder haft på konsumenters identitetsprojekt? Metoden som användes i studien är en kvalitativ där semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes mot bakgrund av en intervjuguide med strukturerade frågor. Tio stycken deltagande kvinnor och män intervjuades, samtliga med ett intresse eller behov av träning och träningskläder i sin vardag. Utöver detta gjordes även en litteraturstudie för att få en övergripande insikt i vad som studerats tidigare samt få tillgång till fler perspektiv och aspekter. Det förekom även att statistik användes för att fastställa siffror inom förändrad försäljningsstatistik. Resultatet bekräftade att konsumenters identitetsprojekt har påverkats och förändrats under loppet av pandemin, fler har fått upp ögonen för träning, nya träningsformer och träningskläder. För att anpassa sig till den nya situationen har många anammat träningen och träningskläder som en ny identitet, vilket var ett resultat av en begränsad vardag och förändrat socialt liv. Samtliga respondenter var eniga om att träningskläder har ökat i popularitet under det senaste året, samt att det anses mer socialt accepterat.
The prevailing pandemic, Covid-19, changed society's views and needs for consumption. As more people started working from home and school took place digitally, the demand for more comfortable clothes increased. Since it was no longer possible to socially interact and meet other people, we had to learn how to occupy ourselves in other ways. Statistics show that the product group ‘training clothing’ increased sharply in 2020 and continued into 2021. More people chose to prioritize their physical health during a period of uncertainty and opened their eyes to training. But in addition to the fact that the pandemic affected society and consumption in general, it also affected humans on an individual level, which resulted in changed ways of expressing one's identity. Consumption in particular becomes of great importance when a person wants to process its identity, but when limitations arise in society, we are forced to rethink his consumption and choice. The purpose of this study was to examine how consumers' identity projects are affected by the pandemic. More specifically, we have chosen to focus on understanding how training clothing has been important for consumers' identity projects during the pandemic. It is of interest to examine changes in consumer behavior and identity in order to be able to map how consumers are affected when they are forced to adapt to societal changes and crisis situations. Study research questions: • How has the pandemic covid-19 affected the consumer's identity project? • What significance have training clothes had on consumers' identity projects? The method used was qualitative where semi-structured interviews were conducted on the basis of a structured interview guide. Ten participating women and men were interviewed, all with an interest or need for training and training clothes in their everyday lives. In addition to this, a literature study was also conducted to gain an overall insight into what has been studied previously and to gain access to more perspectives and aspects. It also happened that statistics were used to determine figures in changed sales statistics. The results confirmed that consumers' identity projects have been affected and changed during the course of the pandemic. More people have opened their eyes to training, new forms of training and training clothes. To adapt to the new situation, many had adopted training and training clothes as a new identity, which was a result of a limited everyday life and changed social life. All respondents agreed that training clothes have increased in popularity over the past year, and that it is considered more socially accepted.

I had dreamed of being a mother for some time. These dreams were complete with expectations of how and when I would give birth, and what motherhood would look and feel like. Now that I am a mother, I realize that my projected expectations in light of my true experience provide a conflicting story. While adjusting to reality has not always been easy, the experiences in unknown territory have brought beauty, joy, sadness, pride, and love in ways I never imagined. I believe that the only way to fully grasp the intensity of the experience of motherhood is to actually live through it. In this sense, the significance of documenting the motherhood experience is to capture the emotions and the reality of being a mother. I hope to put images to the continual conversation, conflict, and emotional battle that wages inside of me. I feel driven to document this experience not only to preserve these feelings for my own sake, but also to shed light on what I see as a misperception of motherhood. My experience with motherhood as subject matter for my artwork has led me to feel a sense of judgment; that to talk about motherhood in a fine art context is almost by nature taboo. I find this strange, as certainly we all have, or have had mothers. I hope to question this perceived negativity in the discussion of this relationship. I also desire to give those who share my feelings regarding motherhood a voice; to be confident in their experience, their love for their children, and to celebrate the common, yet extraordinary role of being a mother.

Анотація:
The traditional collaborative filtering recommendation systems have many deficiencies, which make them incompetent in the domain of clothing recommendation; we proposed a new ClothNet model based on CNN, RNN, collaborative filtering and the characteristics of the fashion industry. The accuracy and generalization performance of this model are improved compared with traditional systems. The visual information integrated into the ClothNet model enables the recommendation system to alleviate the cold start problem, and new clothes can be added to the recommendation list faster through the visual information. The addition of temporal information enables ClothNet sharply capturing the impact of seasonal and time changes on user preferences. However, because RNN and CNN have the disadvantage of requiring a large amount of data, combining RNN and CNN will make the model more difficult to converge, so we have adopted the LearningToRank training mode and obtained good results.

The family garden, raising chickens, and washing clothes in the river are becoming vignettes of the past replaced by images of millions of people living in poverty in large, urban spaces. Before World War II, a father with an eighth-grade education could work in a factory and support his family. Today, both mother and father must work, and they need postsecondary training to qualify for skilled jobs—training that is unavailable to hundreds of millions of people. This chapter describes how all nations can provide affordable, universal higher education that will promote quality living and national success.

This chapter discusses the early years of Lincoln Institute, where young black men received industrial education and training in agricultural techniques, while young women learned to plan a budget, prepare meals, and make clothes and were trained in interior decorating and health care. Lincoln's first graduating class included a young man of substance named Whitney Young, who took a job in Detroit, fought in World War I, and then returned to Lincoln to teach engineering. In Shelby County, Young, his wife Laura, and their three children experienced the indignity of having to sit in the area designated for “coloreds” at the movies, but they also felt the subtle racism of exclusion and lack of respect that came with segregation. Local whites begrudgingly addressed Young as “Professor” or “Reverend,” but never as “Mr.”

Анотація:
Most existing person re-identification methods are effective in short-term scenarios because of their appearance dependencies. However, these methods may fail in long-term scenarios where people might change their clothes. To this end, we propose an adversarial feature disentanglement network (AFD-Net) which contains intra-class reconstruction and inter-class adversary to disentangle the identity-related and identity-unrelated (clothing) features. For intra-class reconstruction, the person images with the same identity are represented and disentangled into identity and clothing features by two separate encoders, and further reconstructed into original images to reduce intra-class feature variations. For inter-class adversary, the disentangled features across different identities are exchanged and recombined to generate adversarial clothes-changing images for training, which makes the identity and clothing features more independent. Especially, to supervise these new generated clothes-changing images, a re-feeding strategy is designed to re-disentangle and reconstruct these new images for image-level self-supervision in the original image space and feature-level soft-supervision in the disentangled feature space. Moreover, we collect a challenging Market-Clothes dataset and a real-world PKU-Market-Reid dataset for evaluation. The results on one large-scale short-term dataset (Market-1501) and five long-term datasets (three public and two we proposed) confirm the superiority of our method against other state-of-the-art methods.

Анотація:
Replacing objects in images is a practical functionality of Photoshop, e.g., clothes changing. This task is defined as Unsupervised Deformable-Instances Image-to-Image Translation (UDIT), which maps multiple foreground instances of a source domain to a target domain, involving significant changes in shape. In this paper, we propose an effective pipeline named Mask-Guided Deformable-instances GAN (MGD-GAN) which first generates target masks in batch and then utilizes them to synthesize corresponding instances on the background image, with all instances efficiently translated and background well preserved. To promote the quality of synthesized images and stabilize the training, we design an elegant training procedure which transforms the unsupervised mask-to-instance process into a supervised way by creating paired examples. To objectively evaluate the performance of UDIT task, we design new evaluation metrics which are based on the object detection. Extensive experiments on four datasets demonstrate the significant advantages of our MGD-GAN over existing methods both quantitatively and qualitatively. Furthermore, our training time consumption is hugely reduced compared to the state-of-the-art. The code could be available at https://github.com/sitongsu/MGD_GAN.

There is an increasing interest in image-to-image translation withapplications ranging from generating maps from satellite images tocreating entire clothes’ images from only contours. In the presentwork, we investigate image-to-image translation using GenerativeAdversarial Networks (GANs) for generating new data, taking as acase study the morphing of giraffes images into bird images. Morphinga giraffe into a bird is a challenging task, as they have differentscales, textures, and morphology. An unsupervised cross-domaintranslator entitled InstaGAN was trained on giraffes and birds,along with their respective masks, to learn translation betweenboth domains. A dataset of synthetic bird images was generatedusing translation from originally giraffe images while preservingthe original spatial arrangement and background. It is important tostress that the generated birds do not exist, being only the result of alatent representation learned by InstaGAN. Two subsets of commonliterature datasets were used for training the GAN and generatingthe translated images: COCO and Caltech-UCSD Birds 200-2011.To evaluate the realness and quality of the generated images andmasks, qualitative and quantitative analyses were made. For thequantitative analysis, a pre-trained Mask R-CNN was used for thedetection and segmentation of birds on Pascal VOC, Caltech-UCSDBirds 200-2011, and our new dataset entitled FakeSet. The generateddataset achieved detection and segmentation results close tothe real datasets, suggesting that the generated images are realisticenough to be detected and segmented by a state-of-the-art deepneural network.
