Повний текст джерелаBackground: Today many companies are competing to get space in our minds. Companies spend a tremendous amount of money on building strong brands. It is not just about making us aware of their logo, today it’s more about giving the brand a ”soul” and to load it with different values. Due to today’s globalization there is also interesting to look at it from a cultural perspective. To export a brand name into a new market abroad is not the same as just transferring your knowledge and believe it should work in another country and culture. A brand is consciously and unconsciously loaded with values, especially cultural values. In Sweden there are values typically Swedish that might not be obvious to you but still follow us. These values might not fit the new market the company is entering, therefore some values might get left behind, while others are easily transferred to another country. We therefore find it very interesting to study these cultural values.
Purpose: The purpose with this essay is to describe which cultural values Swedish company’s brands intend to communicate abroad.
Performance: We have done a qualitative study. Our empirical study is based mainly on personal interviews. The frames of references are based on well established theories within the brand- and cultural field.
Result: Our study showed that Swedish companies load their brands with the four values; quality, reliability, simplicity and modern&innovative. We also found that the Swedish culture is reflected in these values, in both national-, business- and corporate culture.
Bakgrund: Idag slåss många företag om att få en plats i vårt medvetande och de lägger därmed ut stora summor på varumärkesbyggande och varumärkesvård. Det handlar inte längre om att bara pränta in logotypen, utan även att ge sitt varumärke en "själ" och ladda det med olika värden. I och med dagens globalisering är det också ur ett kulturellt perspektiv mer intressant. Men att exportera ett varumärke till en utländsk marknad är inte samma sak som att ta med sig sin kunskap och tro att det ska fungera lika bra i det nya landet. Ett varumärke är medvetet och omedvetet laddat med värderingar, både kulturella och affärsmässiga. I Sverige har vi typiskt svenska värden som man kanske inte direkt tänker på men som faktiskt följer med oss. Dessa värden kanske inte passar in på den nya marknaden, utan vissa värden kanske tas med medan andra byts ut. Vi finner det därmed intressant att undersöka dessa kulturella värden.
Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva vad för slags kulturella värden svenska företags varumärken avser kommunicera utomlands.
Genomförande: Vi har gjort en kvalitativ studie. Vår empiriska studie är huvudsakligen baserad på de personliga intervjuer och den telefonintervju vi gjort. Referensramarna bygger på väletablerade teorier inom området.
Resultat: Vår studie har visat att svenska företag laddar sina varumärken med värdena kvalitet, pålitlighet, enkelhet och modern&innovativ. Vi har funnit att dessa värden finns återspeglade i den svenska kulturen både vad gäller national- respektive affärs och företagskultur.

Today its structures and shapes are historical deposits and have helped humans to understand Earth’s history. Humans are unconditionally dependent on Earth’s resources and will continue being so for an unforeseeable future. Human development such as infrastructure alters an unnatural landscape where the natural landscape with all its forms and deposits are threatened to disappear if not protected from exploitation. To continuing understanding Earth’s history in the future and to developing ecological areas, it’s important to introduce the geological values in all types of society planning. When geological values are forgotten or disregarded and ecological values get the majority of attention you loose the bigger picture. Instead a more holistic view is needed that accounts for all natural values. In this study, a path plan has been selected to illustrate this short supply, where an inventory of the study area and an analysis of the selected path plan’s reports and environmental impact assessment have been made. The results from the study indicate that objects are considered object by object and observe the geoscientific values more durable and it’s often unclear how the geological values are affected.

Повний текст джерелаThe purpose of this essay is to analyse and evaluate human relations within organisations in purpose to achieve higher productivity. Both research objects gained interest in this essay due to how their own result should be effected and their own values but the writers also detected a little curiosity on how the competition handled these questions. The essay have progressed in the following steps: first the authors have tried to find a problem definition and a scientific ground to work from. After that an extensive literature study were done to be followed by an mapping of apparition on the human relations on Scania motorverkstads logistics department and Volvo Logistics by interviews of the people in charge in these organisations. To see whether there was a unanimous line of thoughts between the management and the employees the authors made questionnaires to the different department. After that the authors studied and evaluated the answers against theories and what the theories says about improvement of the human recourses improves productivity. The authors have from the answers they received and the theories the authors have read also made proposes to improvements and new ways of thinking that both companies can take part of.The result of this investigation is that both Scania and Volvo Logistics have a very good knowledge of what it takes to use human relations in their companies. The result showed that the agreement with the employees who carry out the work is not what the authors expected.

Повний текст джерела“Fröknarna von Pahlen”, is a series of novels written by the author Agnes von Krusenstjerna. Especially the fourth and fifth parts, published in 1933, raised questions about sexuality, especially about what was conceived as perverse and provoking descriptions. “Fröknarna von Pahlen” became a part of heated debates about what is acceptable to write about. How can the so called Pahlen feud be understood from an intersectional perspective, and from a focus on values, and by discussing imagined communities? The purpose is to find out what is going on in these debates. Six different values are being pointed out; art and skill, truth, freedom of speech and freedom of the press, the value in the young, the value in female perspectives, and moral values. There is a number of knot points tied to these values, and differentiating processes such as sex, class, age, ethnicity, religion etc. are all intertwined in these debates. From an intersectional understanding, none of these processes are more primal than another. The knot points are both of an emotional nature and thematic. The individual voices that emerge in the feud are named small narratives, and the more intersubjective narratives are called grand narratives. These narratives are being investigated rhetorically; for instance how some stories can appear more as truths than others, and it is analyzed how they separate people in groups and create hierarchies. They are also being seen from an emotional perspective; how individual feelings are a part of emotions, larger contexts and meaning coherences. These feelings are also understood as actions. Throughout the investigation there is a hermeneutic will to make things intelligible, and respect and point out the many different perspectives. This is being made in a cultural relativistic attempt. By focusing on imagined communities, different comradeships and groups in the feud can be pointed out. People can consider themselves parts of these groups, but they can also, more or less involuntarily, be considered as parts of these groups. In the writers opinion, the most important question is how “extreme” sexual descriptions an author is allowed to bring forth.

Teacher, student and other organization have to make efforts to create opportunities to develop knowledge. Without cooperate/ cooperation they can loose possibilities to develop valuable knowledge. How do the organization see upon meanings of the procedures of cooperation? How do they work with and for cooperation? What role should the universities play in the development of knowledge in todays community of change? The aim of this study is to create an understanding for the meaning of cooperation procedure by developing knowledge and how it might bring value.
My interest in this is to find the means of procedure of cooperation and to create understanding. By using interviews, the interviewee can tell about their different experiences. In this study there is six interviews made with people who work with procedure of cooperation in six different operation.
The result shows that opportunity to make a procedure of cooperation and developing knowledge depends on the operators work with planning of the procedure. By finding needs and the means to attain the goals depends on the different needs and demands of the operator. The procedure might bring both the development of knowledge but also values. It requires good communication and action from all parts involved. Both Universities and surrounding operators have to change their role by working towards cooperation. It is a matter of creating values for all in the procedure of cooperation.

Повний текст джерелаModern humans are considered to have lost connection to nature and actions to reduce the separation between man and nature has been demanded. Green areas are often valued from a broad perspective and few studies have investigated the specific nature of the wild habitat. There also seem to be definitive problems and conflicts regarding the concept of "wild nature". The purpose of this report is to identify the specific values of wild nature and to investigate what the concept really can include. Another purpose is to investigate attitudes and associations to wild nature and how wild nature is being worked on in planning. A literature study has been used as the primary method. The literature study has been supplemented with a minor case study including a documentary study, interviews and questionnaires. The conclusion is that wild nature offers values of ecological, educational and experiential character. The ecological value is that wild nature allows biodiversity. The educational value includes aspects that help strengthen the connection to nature, which may lead to changed environmental behavior. Wild nature also has values that concerns for example the experience of spiritual and reflective emotions, contributing to stress reduction and increased well-being. Moreover, wild nature is associated with large areas unaffected by humans. The same approaches are in the planning process, and the experience of wild nature is often evaluated from an ecological perspective. This means that the potential of green spaces that does not fit into the traditional image is not taken advantage of. Wild nature can also be defined based on the experience qualities related to wildness. A development towards such an approach could mean that the specific nature of the wild nature is taken advantage of. This could contribute to the increased well-being of the residents, but in the long term, a more sustainable society.

Повний текст джерелаNär Stockholms Stad ville bygga lägenheter på mark som användes och ägdes av Stockholms Hamnar initierades ett projekt med avsikt att förfylla denna begäran. Projektet betydde en utbyggnad av ena kajen I Värtahamnen och ITS systemets implementation vid sagd kaj. Då projektet var initierat, av, vad som ansågs vara, nödvändighet utfördes ej en ordentlig bedömning av de strategiska och ekonomiska konsekvenserna. Denna uppsats diskuterar och bedömer de strategiska aspekterna av ITS systemet. De strategiska fördelarna av ITS systemet är att det bidrar till Stockholms Hamnars Konkurrensfördel, dess placering, genom att ge dem mer kontroll över hamnen eftersom infrastrukturen tidigare ägdes av deras kund, Tallink Silja. Utöver detta skapar systemet en säkrare arbetsmiljö i hamnen då systemet har bättre kontroll över containrarna och lastbilarna i hamnen samt har inprogrammerade utrymnings scenarier. ITS systemet minskar även på ”waste” i det logistiska processerna i hamnen genom adderad kontroll över in och utfarterna till hamnen samt ett digitalt sorterings och förvarningssystem. Detta erbjuder reduktioner i operativa kostnader för Tallink Silja, vilka är ansvariga för driften av kajen. Utöver detta erbjuder systemet ökat värde för slutkunden då verksamhetens reliabilitet ökar. Om dessa fördelar är tillräckliga för att justifiera ITS projectet kan inte beslutas i denna rapport då det endast är ledningen hos Stockholms Hamnar som sitter på kunskaper tillräckliga för att ta detta beslut. Men det finns bra strategiska fördelar med ITS systemet.

Повний текст джерелаThis study apply to a broad understanding of the term Middle-Ages as an analytical concept to show how values and norms of actions are established and negotiated through contemporary uses of history. It contributes to the analysis and discussion of central tensions in memory policy between, on one hand, the representative democratic system, and on the other hand, a direct democracy based on the idea of everyone's ability and right to participate in the use of the history. In two case studies, that maps the use of the Middle-Ages in the county of Östergötland, this study shows how this tension effects and is handled by Stakeholders in every day praxis. One case focus on a conflict between, on one hand, ancient remains of human skeletons from a medieval gallows hill, and on the other hand, private business development due to the construction of a new factory in the town of Vadstena. The other case analyses a broader use of the Middle-Ages as resources in regional and local development policies in the town of Skänninge. The study analysis varied situations where Stakeholders are mobilized around different problems. It focus on how these processes are carried out and which recourses that are used, both rhetorical and through actions. The study shows how values of the past is created, produced and negotiated in contemporary processes of mobilization which are related to terms such as Preservation, Experience and Local policies. It also shows how traditional institutional structures creates barriers that prevent fruitful cooperation between the Stakeholders, and the broader use of the past that the national policies are asking for.

This study examines different factors that are considered to increase customer value within a quickly emerging phenomenon labelled flexible office and coworking. These factors are price, quality, adaptability, community, environment and equipment. The purpose of this study is to get a deeper understanding of what a flexible office organization can offer to their tenants that a traditional office lease cannot. While most of the prior studies within this field focused on the growth and the community aspect of the phenomenon, this paper studies why the growth occurred by examining how customer value is created with the concept. This is done by analysing the factors that provide value to the customer and to identify if these factors are present within a flexible office organization.

Повний текст джерелаThis essay examines a presupposed correlation between the way one look upon values and the way one look upon the will of the people in a theoretical democratic context. The more specific purpose is to test the following hypothesis: There is a reversed connection between the way one look upon values and the way one look upon the will of the people in a theoretical democratic context, that is; a strong claim of values give reason to a limited conception of the will of the people and a weak claim of values gives reason for a more unlimited conception of the will of the people.
In order to test the hypothesis I examine three different conceptions of democracy, these are: pluralist democracy, deliberative democracy and constitutional democracy. I analyze the way they look upon values, there view of the will of the people and finally if there is a connection between the way they look upon values and the will of the people. Values should be understood in a metaethical context. In other words it is not values in the “common” meaning, instead its how val-ues in them selves should be understood, and even more relevant, what we mean when we ex-press values.
My conclusions are, first and foremost, that there is a correlation between the will of the people and values, according to the formulation of the hypothesis. This leaves, for that specific issue, two alternatives; a weak conception of values with a strong conception of the will of the people, and, a strong conception of values with a weak conception of the will of the people. I also conclude that there are problems with both alternatives. A weak conception of values could result in moral diffi-culties, such as a majority oppresses a minority. And a strong conception of values could result in an excavation of democracy.
As for the conceptions of democracy, I conclude that the pluralistic democracy has a relativistic view on values and an (more or less) unlimited conception of the will of the people. The delibera-tive democracy has a similar conception with a few exceptions. The constitutional democracy have a somewhat relativistic conception of values but with objectivistic elements, and hence a limited conception of the will of the people.

En metod baserad på innehållsanalys som använts i en tidigare studie om förekomst av värden i algebrakapitel har vidareutvecklats. Sammanlagt 955 uppgifter i geometrikapitlen i fem olika läroböcker har analyserats. Resultatet visar på en skillnad mellan intentionerna i gymnasieskolans styrdokument och det utrymme olika värden ges. Även skillnader mellan det utrymme studerade läromedel ger åt olika värden har påvisats.

Повний текст джерелаBackground: A constant development of the physical fashion retail business has led to possibilities to develop a shopping experience for consumers to compete with the online marketplace. This has led to physical stores implementing technological innovations to enhance the consumer experience. Method: A qualitative study with 14 semi-structured interviews along with a thematic analysis being made to structure the collected data. The paper is delimited to only consumer facing technologies. Result and analysis: The results of the respondents’ answers are analysed from the previous research. The results show that the respondents’ self-evaluation of their technological knowledge affects their usage of technologies. Some of the respondents are also affected by social influences, both in a positive and negative way. The perceived security of a technology also affects respondents’ acceptance of the technology. Different kinds of value are experienced by the respondents, with independence, time saving, flexibility and pleasure being the four central themes. The respondents experience and prioritise these values differently, which also affects the motives behind using technological innovations. Discussion: The result is discussed from a fashion industry perspective, with fast and slow fashion being brought up as two major areas. Fast fashion stores can benefit from including technological innovations to increase the customers’ independence. High fashion brands with a strong focus on personal service might suffer from introducing such technologies, as it contributes to a loss of personal service. Conclusion: This paper contributes with a clear understanding of how consumers experience technological innovations and what drives them to become users. Suggestions for further research is presented and recommends a deeper study focusing on the lack of technological knowledge, how it affects the use of technological innovations in a retail environment and how it can be identified.

Med hjälp av genreteori kring semantik och syntax, gör vi oss medvetna om vad dessa begrepp kan innebära i den process som ingår i modellering av karaktärer. Vi bryter upp karaktärskonceptet i mindre beståndsdelar så som mjuka/hårda ytor och gör en granskning av karaktärernas semantiska drag. Därefter beskrivs den arbetsmetod som användes för att skapa 3D karaktären, där vi berör några av de viktiga punkterna i arbetsprocessen. Min frågeställning som var, Hur kan vi överföra de semantiska värdena av en karaktär till en tredimensionell modell som är anpassad för dator/TV-spel? Besvaras med de metoder som användes i skapandet av karaktären. Slutligen presenteras 3Dmodellen med en videosekvens

Повний текст джерелаDen här studien handlar om utvecklingen av bevarandeskydd för industrilandskap och hur det nu för tiden uppfattas av lokalinvånarna. Det övergripande syftet är att öka kunskapen om hur industrilandskapet i Norrköping kom att bli ett kulturarv som invånarna i kommunen ville bevara. Studiens syfte är också att undersöka lokalinvånarnas kunskap om industrilandskapet i Norrköping och vilka värden de anser att platsen har. Data samlades in genom en informationsundersökning och sex kvalitativa intervjuer. Intervjuerna analyserades också genom en kvalitativ metod. Resultatet visade att lokalinvånarna i Norrköping finner flera olika värden i industrilandskapet och att de anser att platsen är viktig att bevara. Deras kunskap om platsens historia visade sig vara ganska små, men de kände till de mest visentliga fakta. Invånarna hade dock mycket kunskap om de verksamheter som finns i industrilandskapets lokaler nu för tiden samt vilka aktiviteter som finns att göra där.

Повний текст джерелаBakgrunden till arbetet är de krav som EU direktivet (2002/91/EF) om byggnaders energiprestanda ställer på upprättande av energideklarationer och energieffektiviserande åtgärdsförslag. Till följd av att direktivet lämnat utrymme för given tillämpningsmetod har Norge utvecklat ett deklarationssystem där gemene hus- och fastighetsägare fått möjlighet att själva genomföra sin energideklaration, något som i andra länder enbart får genomföras av oberoende experter eller företag. Sedan systemet togs i bruk under slutet av 2009 har cirka 130 000 unika energideklarationer genomförts av privatpersoner genom den officiella hemsidan för Energimerke-systemet. Hemsidan tillhandahåller ett energiberäkningsprogram vilket med hjälp av olika tekniska och byggnadsrelaterade uppgifter som registreras av använder genererar en energideklaration. Systemets beräkning av byggnadens energibehov och uppvärmningssystemets verkningsgrad faller sedan samman i ett energimerke som i sin tur är ett krav att ha vid försäljning eller uthyrning av en bostad. Utöver själva beviset rekommenderas även ett antal energieffektiviserande åtgärder. Med ett rådande undantag för kulturhistoriskt skyddade byggnader och ett system som inte är anpassat efter äldre konstruktioner verkar det dock kunna finnas vissa risker med den nuvarande metoden. För att genomföra en första granskning av systemet och dess möjliga konsekvenser för äldre byggnader i Norge har detta arbete därför ställt ett stort statistiskt underlag av tidigare energideklarationer mot utfallet i några fallstudier och simuleringar. Syftet är att ge svar på huruvida energideklarationssystemet utgör ett hot mot äldre byggnaders karaktärsbärande värden eller ej, samt försöka identifiera hur systemet kan förbättras och utvecklas. Ett viktigt moment i att försöka svara på arbetets frågeställningar har utgjorts av ett resonemang vilket lett fram till det sammanvägande begreppet karaktärsbärande värden. Satt i förhållande till energideklarationssystemets åtgärdsförslag och lagrummets egna varsamhetsparagrafer har det kunnat ge en fingervisning om vilka åtgärder som utgör störst risk för äldre byggnader. Resultaten visar att systemet med estimerade energiberäkningar verkar genera felaktiga värden som förvärras ju äldre och enklare byggnaderna respektive registreringarna är. Det är även tydligt att åtgärder med hög risk för byggnaders karaktärsbärande värden ständigt återkommer som förslag samtidigt som systemet ej heller tar hänsyn till kostnadseffektiva aspekter. För att minimera riskerna föreslås att systemets tekniska ramar utvidgas samtidigt som systemets åtgärdsförslag ses över och eventuellt begränsas till att gälla brukarrelaterade råd.

Повний текст джерелаSports centers, and in the case of this study, ice hockey arenas, have begun to bear more meaning than just an arena for sporting events and for the local athletic association. More and more stadiums have been developed into so called multi-purpose stadiums, and that means that those stadiums can host more than one form or type of event, whether it is a concert, sports meet or a convention. This study focuses on three different multi-purpose stadiums in three different Swedish cities. These stadiums are Läkerol Arena in Gävle, Löfbergs Arena in Karlstad and Cloetta Center in Linköping. By studying these stadiums, the authors of this study want to examine the phenomenon with multi-purpose stadiums. The authors want to see how much a multi-purpose stadium of this sort affects the tourism in a city that has one such stadium, furthermore if said stadium can be able to create new possibilities for events, if the stadium improves the city’s image and if such a stadium can become a symbol for a city or region. To better understand this phenomenon, this study will follow the producers’ perspective, that is, focus on the different producers that help develop the arena, attract new events as well as the producers of the tourism industry in these cities. This paper will use methods for research that focus on qualitative interviews with different producers, that is, those in charge of the stadiums and those in charge for the tourism industry in each city. This study furthermore includes a content analysis of these different cities’ travel brochures, to see how the stadium is being branded in said brochures. In addition to the brochures, the regional development plans of Gävle, Karlstad and Linköping, have also been studied to see whether or not the stadium in each city is included in their plans for further development. The epistemological approach of this study is of a social-constructivist type with hermeneutic interpretation learning. The various theories used for this paper, help to illustrate the problem area and further answer the aim of this study. These theories have their roots in events, sporting events, multi-purpose stadiums, event planning, competition, regional development, image-making and symbolism. The empiric data is presented further through chapters 5 to 7, where the first of these chapters focuses on existing branding and planning, thus presenting the information gathered from brochures and regional development plans whereas the remaining two chapters present the information gathered from the interviews that where conducted during this study, and thus focus on the producers thoughts, hopes and work methods to create a highly attractive stadium. The last chapters consist of the analysis of the gathered empirical as well as the theoretical material, where a discussion is held about the affected fields, to come to conclusions that mark the ending of this study. The main conclusions being the contribution the various stadiums make towards broader event possibilities for the various cities as well as the improved images of said cities with the help of these multi-purpose stadiums and the symbolic value these stadiums have brought to the cities and regions they are built in. To conclude this, these stadiums have had a positive impact on the tourism flows within their cities. Although, one must remember that these stadiums are most relevant to the hockey teams that play in these stadiums. Furthermore, there are some social differences between the cities of Gävle, Karlstad and Linköping that differentiate these cities from one another, but the overall traits are still very similar between these three study objects.

Повний текст джерелаNew and more energy efficient technologies are usually regarded as the solution to the problem with too high energy consumption in the built environment. It is not enough, however, to fulfil the expected reduction of energy consumption since other influential factors have to be considered as well. There are for example people who use technology in ways unintended by the developers. In this thesis, people’s daily use of energy-related technology is investigated. Thereby, focus is shifted from the technology developers’ expectations and opinions regarding how to use the technology towards the social contexts in which people live their everyday life. The aim in this thesis is to investigate the domestication in private homes of energy technology developed to reduce energy use and improve energy efficiency. A case study is conducted of how the energy concept in passive houses and its related technologies are domesticated in the daily life of householders. This energy concept is expected to lead to a new energy efficient way of handling heating. The case study comprises of two rounds of interviews with the occupants of the passive houses in Lindås, south of Gothenburg. The households’ interpretation of the energy concept of passive houses and how the householders change their andling of and relationship to the indoor temperature are analysed from a sociocultural learning perspective and the concept of domestication. The thesis analyses the process in which the household members learn how to handle the energy technology in their passive house, supported by their earlier experiences and other kinds of resources. One main conclusion is that sustainable energy use is not only a question of developing new, energy efficient technologies. In order to meet the national and international goals set up for energy efficiency and energy conservation, tools must be developed that encourage people to choose and to learn sustainable ways of using the new technology.

Повний текст джерелаThis study regards Celebrity Endorsements, meaning collaborations where celebrities vouch for a product or a company in order to exchange values and hopefully increase sales. Previous research within this field is focused on what a celebrity can provide for the company. This essay examines the phenomena from the other direction, meaning what the company can provide to the celebrity. We want to find out if the swedes, football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robin Carlsson, also known as the pop artist Robyn, through separate celebrity endorsement actions regarding the campaign “Made by Sweden” by Volvo, assumes values from the company. In order to apply our results on existing theoretical frameworks and thereby enabling ourselves to answer our questions, we have chosen to relate to previous research regarding celebrity endorsements, theories regarding how messages are transmitted, for instance the Meaning transfer model, as well as marketing theories regarding brand identity. Through three focus group interviews, we received an image of the two celebrities from the respondents, making the foundation for our analysis. Through comparing the image created by the respondents with the profile of the company, we could determine whether values had been transmitted from the company to the celebrity. Our study concluded that values are not transmitted from company to celebrity. Values encoded by the company were not represented in the image pictured by our respondents regarding the celebrities. The study does however show that a celebrity may gain new values through a celebrity endorsement action.

Повний текст джерелаThis report describes a Project for Degree of Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering, performed at Karlstad´s university. The purpose of the project has been to come up with a proposal of an entrance for an industrial enterprise. The company is Autofric AB in Hagfors, which produces spirals and spiral conveyers. They used to have a canopy which had to be taken down. The entrance should show the spirit of the company and express quality, and the company also want to fabricate it with their own machines and materials as far as it is possible. Because of this, several examples of how to use the spirals in the entrance has been developed during this project. The focus in this project has been on the design of a shell which will become the gestalt. The company will take care of construction for strength. The entrance has been analyzed considering semantics, some laws for construction and some theory of design. The project has followed the product development process and it has taken advantage of the strength of models as a visual tool. A collection of cardboard sketches, that grew bigger and bigger during the project, many good advices from an architect and the company´s opinions led to a proposal that fulfills the requirements and requests and gives a solution to the problem. It resulted in a canopy, shaped as a half moon, resting on two pillars. The cross section of the pillars is inspired by some of the machines the company manufactures. An illuminated logotype is integrated in the frontage of the canopy. The entrance can be manufactured mainly by the machines and materials available at the company.

Повний текст джерелаBackground: The private forest owners are a heterogeneous group that has undergone a change under the past years. They have different characteristics and different relationships to their forest, that leads to their values with their ownership. The study examines the incentives and decision-making process through socioemotional values of forest owners using the SEW-theory. Purpose: The study explains (1) the conditions of forest owners that lead to socioemotional wealth and (2) how socioemotional wealth affects decision making. Method: The study is based on a quantitative cross-sectional design to investigate the purpose of the study. The hypotheses have been developed based on SEW-theory and research on forest ownership, a survey was conducted in collaboration with Södra Skogsägarna. Conclusions: The study proves that SEW-theory is an applicable theory for forest owners. It shows that socioemotional wealth affects the incentive and decision making of forest owners. The results of the study also shows that their socioemotional and economic values increases together. The study find some indication of factors generating SEW and some initial evidence of effects on the forestry orchestrated by SEW.

Повний текст джерелаWe live in a society where the importance of digitalisation grows in every day life as well as in the workplace. In this dissertation the development of the digitalisation of public administration is studied – this development is usually referred to as egovernment. The main focus of the analysis in this dissertation is to gain a better understanding of the meanings of values in these digitalisation processes in public organisations. Three qualitative, interpretative case studies make up the foundation for this analysis. The first case is an analysis of Swedish e-government policies. The two other cases focus on organisational practices in public administration; the County Council of Östergötland and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. These case studies have been based on interviews, document studies and observations. Theoretically the analyses of the dissertation build on theories of public values, legitimacy and the interplay between organisation and technology. The analyses show which values are given importance in digitalisation processes and how digitalisation can affect basic democratic values in public organisations. The results of the dissertation can be summarised in three comprehensive conclusions: 1) The digitalisation of the public administration is context dependent and takes place in an interplay between technology, policy and administration and the specific values which constitute these different domains. 2) The development towards e-government comprises a multitude of values, and is inspired and shaped by different sets of values. 3) The digitalisation can influence the role of the democratic values in public organisations, and therefore affect the legitimacy of the public administration. The main contribution of this dissertation is a deeper understanding of what implications e-government reforms can have for the administrations democratic values and its legitimacy. Processes of digitalisation are not value neutral, but are booth shaped by and shape values in the interplay between technology, political goals and the administrations particular organisational forms. Hereby, awareness of the values of digitalisation becomes crucial when e-government reforms are initiated and carried out. Further research on how technology and public organisations shape each other can contribute to uphold the legitimacy of public administration in a digitalised world.

Повний текст джерелаThis study highlights the intensity and the extent of sound levels produced by a so called floating floor. The study has closely observed floor constructions made of Platon mat in order to detect the acoustic factors and how they are manifested when stepping on the floor. The study also compares the results of step- and drum sound levels with Granab constructions, another type of floating floor, as well as how the Platon construction stands in relation to the statutory guide values. This study has focused on how the sound from a Platon floor is perceived in an objective and a subjective perspective, because in some cases measured values do not correspond to the actual experience. Measurements that have been carried out give an idea of how to design floors and what type of material should be used to obtain the most favorable sound level possible. Overall, this study shows that the design of the floors can, to a large extent, minimize step- and drum sounds. This knowledge can be of great use when designing a floating floor since it has been shown that high sound levels in the lower frequencies affect, among other things, our abilities of learning and concentrating.

Повний текст джерелаAktieanalytiker från ett flertal analyshus utfärdar flera gånger i månaden aktieanalyser där deras prognoser över det analyserade företagets utveckling över en överskådlig tid presenteras. Denna studie studerar hur professionella aktieanalytiker lyckas med att i dessa aktieanalyser prognostisera parametrar gällande det analyserade företagets resultat- och balansräkning samt kassaflöden vilka används som utgångspunkt för att sedan värdera företaget. Dessutom studeras om analytikernas korrekthet i sina prognoser kan ses bero utav dels den information som bifogas i analyserna och dels kvaliteten på det analyserade företagets redovisning.
Studien visar att majoriteten utav de värderingsparametrar som analytikerna prognostiserar uppvisar en negativ skevhet, det vill säga; det verkliga värdet på parametrarna överträffar analytikernas prognoser. Detta resultat går tvärtemot ett antal tidigare studier från USA och Storbritannien. Vidare hittas något förvånande inga samband mellan mängden icke-finansiell information som bifogas i aktieanalysen och prognosernas korrekthet. Detta är även fallet för
redovisningens kvalitet för det analyserade företaget.
Financial analysts employed by different financial institutes every month issue a number of stock reports where estimates of the analyzed company’s future progress are presented. This study focuses on the question how precise analysts are in their forecasts of valuation
components concerning the income statement, the balance sheet and the company’s cash flows. Also, the question whether the deviations from the true values can be explained from the amount of non-financial information disclosed in the reports as well as from the quality of
the analyzed company’s account is focused.
The study shows that a majority of the analysts’ forecasts are negatively skewed, meaning that the real values exceed the estimates. This result contradicts the bulk of the earlier studies from the US and Great Britain. Furthermore, somewhat surprisingly, the study shows that no relation can be found between either non-financial disclosure or the quality of accounts and the precision in analysts’ estimates.

Повний текст джерелаBakgrund: I konkurrens om morgondagens konsument kommer sannolikt materiella värden inte räcka till. Företag måste också kunna erbjuda immateriella värden genom upplevelser. Ett sätt att göra detta är via produktens design. Den företagsekonomiska relevansen understyrks ytterligare av det faktum att lite forskning finns kring immateriellt värdeskapande och design.
Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att bidra med förståelse för hur design kan tillföra immateriella värden till en produkt.
Genomförande: Initialt konstruerades en begreppsapparat, ur teori från vitt skilda discipliner, som sedan genom tolkning av en rad intervjuer med relevanta aktörer utvecklades.
Resultat: De immateriella värden som tillförs en möbel genom design kan förstås med hjälp av två huvudkategorier: estetiskt och socialt värde. Dessa värdens tillblivelse kan i huvudsak förstås som en social konstruktion uppburen av en rad aktörer i en värdekonfiguration. En historia konstrueras och ger möbeln ett värde. Kunskap har central betydelse för konsumentens/nyttjarens värdeupplevelse. Resultatet torde ha stor generalitet i form av dess språkbildande karaktär.
Background: In the competition for the consumer of tomorrow it is not likely going to be enough to deliver material value. Companies will have to offer immaterial values through experiences. One way of doing this is by the design of the product. The relevance is emphasised further as there is little research available regarding immaterial value creation and design.
Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to contribute with understanding for how design can add immaterial value to a product.
Research method: Initially a number of concepts were constructed out of theories originating in widely different theoretical fields. These concept were then evolved by interpretation of a number of interviews with relevant actors.
Result: The immaterial values that are added to a piece of furniture by design can be understood with the help of main categories: aesthetic and social value. The creationof these values can to a large extent be understood in the terms of a social construction carried by a number of actors in a value configuration. A story is constructed which give the piece of furniture value. Knowledge is of great importance for the value appreciation of the consumer/user. The result should have great generality as it is of a concept creation quality.

Due to its expanding, advertisement receives a natural and obvious space in our everyday life. This study aims to investigate how social and cultural values can be mediated in advertisement. The focus has been put to ideas related to health and fitness in the advertisement of power drinks. The thesis takes social constructionism as a starting point, and combines image- and critical discourse analysis in purpose to analyze the pictures.Sociology of consumption, construction of identity, lifestyle and everyday life all constitute an essential part of my analysis. The analysis of the advertisement of power drinks made in this essay, shows that aspects such as health and fitness are put aside. Instead, ideals that advocate conceptions about masculinity and swedishness get a salient position.
