ABSTRACTDecision support systems—collections of related information located in a central place to be used for decision-making—can be used as platforms from which climate information can be shared with decision-makers. Unfortunately, these tools are not often evaluated, meaning developers do not know how useful or usable their products are. In this study, a web-based climate decision support system (DSS) for foresters in the southeastern United States was evaluated by using eye-tracking technology. The initial study design was exploratory and focused on assessing usability concerns within the website. Results showed differences between male and female forestry experts in their eye-tracking behavior and in their success with completing tasks and answering questions related to the climate information presented in the DSS. A follow-up study, using undergraduate students from a large university in the southeastern United States, aimed to determine whether similar gender differences existed and could be detected and, if so, whether the cause(s) could be determined. The second evaluation, similar to the first, showed that males and females focused their attention on different aspects of the website; males focused more on the maps depicting climate information while females focused more on other aspects of the website (e.g., text, search bars, and color bars). DSS developers should consider the possibility of gender differences when designing a web-based DSS and include website features that draw user attention to important DSS elements to effectively support various populations of users.

The instances of privacy and security have reached the point where they cannot be ignored. There has been a rise in data breaches and fraud, particularly in banks, healthcare, and government sectors. In today’s world, many organizations offer their security specialists bug report programs that help them find flaws in their applications. The breach of data on its own does not necessarily constitute a threat or attack. Cyber-attacks allow cyberpunks to gain access to machines and networks and steal financial data and esoteric information as a result of a data breach. In this context, this paper proposes an innovative approach to help users to avoid online subterfuge by implementing a Dynamic Phishing Safeguard System (DPSS) using neural boost phishing protection algorithm that focuses on phishing, fraud, and optimizes the problem of data breaches. Dynamic phishing safeguard utilizes 30 different features to predict whether or not a website is a phishing website. In addition, the neural boost phishing protection algorithm uses an Anti-Phishing Neural Algorithm (APNA) and an Anti-Phishing Boosting Algorithm (APBA) to generate output that is mapped to various other components, such as IP finder, geolocation, and location mapper, in order to pinpoint the location of vulnerable sites that the user can view, which makes the system more secure. The system also offers a website blocker, and a tracker auditor to give the user the authority to control the system. Based on the results, the anti-phishing neural algorithm achieved an accuracy level of 97.10%, while the anti-phishing boosting algorithm yielded 97.82%. According to the evaluation results, dynamic phishing safeguard systems tend to perform better than other models in terms of uniform resource locator detection and security.

This article reviews methods to the development of a decision support system (DSS) solution for small business owners/managers. The main objective of designing the DSS artefact is to support the strategic decision-making for achieving competitive advantages in the business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce environment. Many researchers in the DSS domain utilised various methods to design of information systems (IS) artefact, mostly intended for large businesses. Researchers have paid much attention to the business environment as a knowledge source for DSS design and development for the small business strategic decision support needs. User-centred design (UCD) principles were adopted for DSS development. Prior a novel DSS development, multiple case studies were carried out for understanding the user needs and system requirements. Also, knowledge was sourced from the external business environment via the analysis of small business website features against their overseas competitors. The findings suggested developing a DSS solution for small business needs.

Kelurahan Manggar adalah instansi yang menyediakan berbagai layanan maupun pengaduan masyarakat khususnya daerah Manggar Balikpapan Timur. Untuk memperluas pelayanan Diskominfo bekerjasama dengan kelurahan untuk membangun aplikasi atau tepatnya website Yankel sebagai mediasi pelayanan yang bersifat online agar mempermudah masyarakat dalam mengajukan suatu permintaan pelayanan. Pentingnya layanan website Yankel untuk melakukan kegiatan operasional menjadikannya harus selalu dalam kondisi yang optimal, namun kurangnya tata kelola dalam penerapan teknologi informasi mengakibatkan kurang optimalnya Kelurahan Manggar dalam menjalankan tugas dan pencapaian tujuan, sehingga Yankel perlu dievaluasi agar dapat diukur apakah teknologi informasi yang diimplementasikan sudah sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Dalam melakukan audit ini maka akan digunakanlah framework COBIT 2019 dan domainnya adalah DSS (Deliver, Support and Service) untuk mengukur tingakat kapabilitasnya dan mengetahui apakah sistem sudah berjalan sesuai kebutuhan ataukah belum, lalu MEA (Monitoring, Evaluate and Assess) untuk mengetahui tingkat pengawasan dan evaluasi dari sistem pelayanan online Yankel.

Abstract According to data 2018-2021 on the status of the National Transportation Safety Committee, the largest percentage of ship accidents (29%) in Indonesia are caused by fire or exploded. The main purpose of this research is to design a website-based application that can be accessed by phone to support ship crews in preventing and handling fires on board using a decision support system method, where the website-based application itself is an application that can be run using web and browser technology bases of internet or intranet. In the preparation of the research, first, observations were made on the cargo of dangerous goods transported by the container ship (MV. Sinar Penida). A website-based application for fire prevention and handling system is designed after making a mock-up. Application design is done by making mock-ups, designing interfaces, creating databases, and coding the application system. The features have been equipped with an emergency muster list, fire handling based on the class of cause, and a cargo separation feature based on the ship’s bay plan using the Decision Support System (DSS) method or decision support system that can increase the effectiveness in decision making.

Purpose – The paper aims to evaluate the usability of the website of Central Science Library (CSL), University of Delhi. Multi-method approach of evaluation is used with the use of standard checklist and questionnaire survey of representative users. Besides, the information architecture of the website under study is analysed in this paper. Design/methodology/approach – Based on the literature review and the author’s experience, a usability assessment tool for library websites was developed by Pant (2013). It comprises standard checklist and questionnaire for users’ survey. In the present study, this framework was used to assess the usability of CSL website. The questionnaire survey of 35 representative users was conducted through random sampling. The results of both methods (standard checklist and questionnaire survey) were analysed for evaluating the website usability. Findings – Need for improvement of the website was realised in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and learnability for better usability. Notice board, site search facility, list of services, FAQs and user guides were the most sought after features among others as per the analysis of the questionnaire survey. Besides, the need to enhance the visual appeal of the website was felt. However, information resources provided through the CSL website were found useful for users. Originality/value – The paper presents an innovative multi-method approach of website usability assessment while considering six usability attributes: Usefulness, Efficiency, Effectiveness, Learnability, Satisfaction and Accessibility. The approach adopted in this paper is cost effective in comparison to formal usability tests and heuristic evaluation. Therefore, this framework is suitable for libraries having limited budget to ensure the user-centred library website with maximum usability. This paper encourages other libraries to conduct similar website usability evaluation to identify the usability problem areas and users’ perception for their respective website.

Phishing is a common attack on credulous people by making them disclose their unique information. It is a type of cyber-crime where false sites allure exploited people to give delicate data. This paper deals with methods for detecting phishing websites by analyzing various features of URLs by Machine learning techniques. This experimentation discusses the methods used for detection of phishing websites based on lexical features, host properties and page importance properties. We consider various data mining algorithms for evaluation of the features in order to get a better understanding of the structure of URLs that spread phishing. To protect end users from visiting these sites, we can try to identify the phishing URLs by analyzing their lexical and host-based features.A particular challenge in this domain is that criminals are constantly making new strategies to counter our defense measures. To succeed in this contest, we need Machine Learning algorithms that continually adapt to new examples and features of phishing URLs.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the influence of the key features of agritourism companies' websites on customers purchasing decision-making process, by measuring the level of perceived relevance and satisfaction of customers about the website's features. Empirical research was conducted based on a four-stage website adoption model, adapted from previous literature. A web-based questionnaire was addressed to a sample of Italian tourists who experienced a stay at an agritourism after selecting it through the website. By combining the perceived satisfaction and importance attributed to a series of website features, the priorities to take into account to design a website and to establish its main on-line services have been identified. In order to identify which variables have more influence in defining the overall evaluation of a website, a regression analysis was conducted. This study provides useful guidance on the main features of a website on which investments for improvement may be addressed, and which on-line services should be activated.

Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are chronic relapsing disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. Several mouse models for IBD are available, but the acute dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis model is mostly used for preclinical studies. However, this model lacks chronicity and often leads to significant loss of mice. The aim of this study was to establish a refined and translationally relevant model of DSS chronic colitis in BALB/c mice. In the first part, we compared several standard therapeutic (ST) treatments for IBD in the acute DSS colitis model to identify the optimal treatment control for a DSS colitis model as compared to literature data. In the second part, we tested the two most effective ST treatments in a refined model of chronic DSS colitis. Cyclosporine A (CsA) and 6-thioguanine (6-TG) caused considerable reduction of clinical scores in acute DSS colitis. The clinical outcome was confirmed by the results for colon length and by histopathological evaluation. Moreover, CsA and 6-TG considerably reduced mRNA expression of several pro-inflammatory cytokines in spleen and colon. Both compounds also showed a substantial therapeutic effect in the refined model of chronic DSS colitis with regard to clinical scores and histopathology as well as the expression of inflammatory markers. The refined model of chronic DSS colitis reflects important features of IBD and is well suited to test potential IBD therapeutics.

Abstract
Objective – When the Harold B. Lee Library (HBLL) at Brigham Young University released a new website with same-look capabilities for computers, tablets, and smartphones, we undertook a summative assessment to review website features and to determine baseline measures of website access via device and patron group.
Methods – The study used a mixed methods approach using three levels of assessment (focus groups, an online survey, and a usability test), with each level informing the subsequent level.
Results – The website changes were well-received by the overwhelming majority of patrons. Device usage was associated with the type of task for which patrons were accessing the website. Computers were used primarily for research-related tasks (e.g., accessing journals, databases, and the main search bar). Smartphones were used primarily for on-the-go tasks (e.g., accessing personal accounts, finding library hours, and reserving group study rooms). Tablets fell between these two. Several website services were identified as being underused. Study results were moderated by time of release (i.e., only half of survey participants had viewed the new website) and access to device (i.e., many patrons did not have access to a tablet or a smartphone).
Conclusions – The summative assessment of the HBLL’s new website was well-received and viewed as a positive change. While most patrons were initially unaware of the same-look feature across devices, this was considered to be a positive change. As devices become more accessible for patrons, it is believed that website access by device will change. A follow-up study is planned to assess any changes in use patterns or use of access devices.

Small business decision-makers require effective decision support solutions for their operational and strategic decision-making. Current decision support solutions provide various system provisions for managerial decisions. They remain limited in meeting the decision-makers’ cognitive requirements, specifically for small businesses in the business-to-consumer (B2C) online environment. Small businesses continuously suffer from a range of issues associated with changing business environment, technology, and consumer preferences. In order to address these issues, a small business must have an interactive website that offers a competitive platform. Small business managers often lack knowledge of how to update their websites. More than half Australian small businesses in the retail sector use their websites for promotions. Although it is essential for managers to have a digital strategy using effective websites, social media, and mobile applications, most owners/managers have lack of confidence in making decisions strategically in this significant matter. The objective of the study was to design an innovative decision support systems (DSS) solution to address the issues faced by owners/managers in making strategic decisions, particularly in their implementation of an effective website. The solution artefact was designed as an instantiation (a type of artefact) prototype. Practitioner groups evaluated it within the target small business retail industry. It was designed to provide support to small business owners/managers in making strategic decisions when selecting useful website features to achieve competitive advantage. As the DSS is a well-recognised research tradition within the information systems (IS) discipline, it was anticipated that the artefact would improve the current provisions of DSS and enable an innovative solution to support managerial decision-making in the context of online B2C business problems. This study adopted the design science research (DSR) methodology to capture the decision problems and convert them into a set of problem specific requirements to develop the solution. The DSR methodology was appropriate because it contributes to addressing the real-world application design environment in which the research problem and solution are well-defined. Evolutionary prototyping approach was used for the DSS development under user-centred design (UCD) principles. The data were collected through multiple focus group sessions involving owners/managers in evaluating the artefact. Qualitative and descriptive analysis approaches were adopted to analyse the data. These users evaluated the usability, efficacy, and performance of the DSS prototype instantiation. The evaluation was critical to producing a user-friendly DSS to meet end-user needs and for further improvements of the prototype.
Contributions made throughout this study are diverse, creating the bridge between theoretical and practical knowledge. The major theoretical contribution was the conceptual DSS framework that produced a KB practical solution known as the website features evaluation DSS (WFE-DSS). In practice, owners/managers require real-time knowledge to maintain their website features to improve their websites’ performance. Information for knowledge must be derived from an analysis of the external business environment and related factors (competitors). The DSS can assist small businesses in selecting competitive website features by assessing them against potential competitors. The DSS was built on a Windows-based platform, familiar to many small businesses, and a cost-effective personal and KB-DSS type.

Many companies involved in the seed industry have launched ecommerce ventures, these include amongst others, Starke Ayres, Johnny's Selected and Opposition 1. Amazon.com is the undisputed leader in ecommerce retailing. There are various website design features that are available that can be used to enhance the users online experience; however the implementation of these features are inconsistent across ecommerce websites. The websites of Starke Ayres, Johnny's Selected, Opposition 1 and Amazon.com were evaluated against a list of website design features (best practices model) that would enhance the user's online experience when interacting with the website. The best practices model was setup considering the user enhancing website features that would satisfy the website functional requirements of Content, Communication, Commerce and Community, as well as user enhancement through the use of navigation features. The cluster analysis was conducted to establish the relatedness of the four websites for the implementation of the website design features identified in the best practices model. It was found that the websites used a varying number of website design features that would enhance the user's online experience. Also, none of the sites satisfied the best practices model completely, thus there is room for improvement even for Amazon.com. It was recommended that Starke Ayres and Opposition 1 commence the improvement of the website with the implementation of the low cost features which are relatively easy to implement as these would significantly improve the website without the requirement of large amount of capital. Significant investment of capital will however be required to improve the website so that it is at the cutting edge of website design. This study aims at analyzing the level of perceived relevance and satisfaction of customers on the websites of agritourism companies. After a literature review on the website adoption by small and medium-sized enterprises, an empirical research was conducted based on a four-stage model of website adoption. A web-based questionnaire was addressed to a sample of EU tourists who experienced a stay at an agritourism after selecting the accommodation through the agritourism website. By combining the perceived satisfaction and importance attributed to a series of features related to the website, the authors identified the main priorities to be considered when a website is being projected and on-line services have to be established. Moreover, for evaluating which variables have more influence in defining the overall evaluation of a website, a multiple linear regression analysis was conducted. This study provides useful indications at the individual firm level about the main features of a website on which investments for improvement may be addressed and which on-line services should be activated.

One of the available media is the online news websites which their success is highly dependent on the relationship of their users. In this article achieving the information of websites is automatic and without the intervention of human so that the instant evaluation could be possible and used method is TOPSIS combined with information entropy to rank 791 news website which have most visitors of the Iranian users based on Alexa ranking report.

High speed wireless networks and mobile and web-based services are changing the way we, as consumers of information, communicate, learn, do business and receive services. Successful e-commerce models have raised the expectations of citizens to have government agencies and organizations provide public services that are timely and efficient. With the growth and development of Arab cities, especially in the capitals, life becomes a little bit harder for citizens dealing with highly bureaucratic government agencies as their demands for basic services increase. Although e-readiness in the region has grown considerably with impressive progress, Arab cities have been clearly absent from studies on worldwide e-municipal websites. In this study, an evaluation checklist for was used to evaluate official municipal websites of Arab capitals. The study found that these websites were not citizen centered, suffered from fundamental problems, had some features that were inoperable and did not follow basic guidelines for any municipal website. In promoting tourism, businesses in entertainment industry should provide e-commerce to their potential customers. Amongst the businesses in entertainment that are engaged in e-commerce include Sunway Lagoon, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), Escape-Room and KidZania. Hence, this chapter presents an evaluation of online marketing strategies and tools used by airlines industries like Malaysia Airlines System (MAS), Firefly, AirAsia, and Malindo Air, besides entertainment industries such as Sunway Lagoon, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), Escape-Room and KidZania. This research noted that websites need to be more interactive, enable customers to interact and socialize among each other through membership management and additional value-added information. Website with graphics and hyperlinks are not persuasive enough, website should improve with additional suggestions or ‘show more' features to invite customer perform additional clicks and explore to the website. Most of the website offers membership to its customer. This, this membership function should be fully utilized.

The critical determinant of consumers’ commitment to online shopping sites is the information features on a given website because online shopping consumers cannot touch or smell the products as they usually do in traditional retail outlets. Customers have to base their judgments on the product information presented on the websites. To investigate the relationship between information features and consumers’ loyalty to a website, we have developed two constructs affecting consumer’s commitment to online shopping sites. The first construct indicates the consumer’s overall evaluation of the online site and the second is the relational benefit of psychological perception about an online site. Results of the online survey with 1,278 Korean customers of online bookstores and ticketing services indicate that information quality, user interface quality, and security perceptions affect information satisfaction and relational benefit. These, in turn, are significantly related to each consumer’s commitment to a site. Information satisfaction and relational benefit have a mediating role between online shopping sites’ information service quality and site commitment. The effect of information satisfaction and relational benefit appear differently with online bookstores and ticketing services.

Nowadays, trend towards the online hotel booking has been increased throughout the world. Hotels can directly offer online room booking service to prospective customers through their website, which reduces the need of booking through giant commercial online hotel booking services. Main objective of this article is to analyze and have an actual picture of the online booking systems in the hotels of Uzbekistan.
With the aim of meeting the objective of the article the qualitative method shall be used by conducting the website analysis, personal evaluation, and open to public statistics resources. The paper will be based on the literature review of similar research conducted by other authors within the area of online hotel booking, which brings great interest to the researchers, since there is very little research has been conducted on same area in Uzbekistan, which makes it very difficult to obtain valid resource which would demonstrate the current online hotel booking service level integration in the country.
In conclusion, the results of the research shall be presented, where the current situation of online booking services by hotels’ website would be represented with the present features used by the local hotels, along with the areas for further development and recommendations will be made in order to boost the development of the country hotels’ online booking systems.

The e-commerce platform is developing rapidly. Well-designed web interface can improve consumers' browsing experience and enhance market competitiveness. NGO Proposed an objective method to measure the aesthetic value of the interface by combining the characteristic elements of the interface design with the user's visual perception. The model is composed of 13 measurement features. However, it lacks objectivity because it does not consider the impact of color on interface aesthetics and human perceptual characteristics. In order to analyze the e-commerce website design more scientifically and reasonably, six aesthetic measures are selected and quantified combined with the Moon-Spencer model. And the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is introduced to calculate the weight of each index, so as to get the comprehensive aesthetic value of the interface. Which in the end could help guide the designer to design and improve the e-commerce page.

A web portal is defined as a “website that acts as a connection to a collection of information or resources including sources, services, news, tutorials, tools and an organized collection of other references from different websites” (Maguire and Longley, 2005). Specifically, the expression “geospatial resources” is used for geospatial information and services, where this “geoportal” is a type of portal, where it deals with resources with these characteristics. Based on the review that we performed, we can define a geoportal as a website that is considered an entry point to geographic content on the web or, more simply, a website where geographic content can be discovered. Several features can define this type of portals. According to the “Spatial Data Infrastructure of Uruguay” (IdeUy, 2018), geoportals have the following characteristics: User interface; Metadata; Data access; Documentation; Contact; and Help.According to the ISO 9241-11 standard (2018), the User eXperience (UX) is defined as “the perceptions and responses of the person resulting from the use and/or anticipated use of a product, system or service”. The UX evaluation is an important task to perform when developing any kind of websites. It is necessary to assess whether the websites meet the needs of the users and whether it fits properly in the physical, social, and organizational context in which it will be used. In this regard, it is important to evaluate whether a geoportal is intuitive, easy to use, and allows users to complete their objectives. UX should be explicitly considered, since the information, the content, the, presentation and the structure of the website should generate a user-friendly experience, motivating people to use the several functionalities and tools provided by the geoportal.Heuristic evaluation is an inspection method where expert evaluators detect potential usability/UX problems, based on heuristics (Nielsen and Molich, 1990). Nielsen’s heuristics allow evaluators to inspect a website in a general way, without focusing on specific domain features. However, the above makes it difficult to detect usability/UX domain-specific problems. Geoportals have their own features that differentiate them from other products, so it is necessary to use a set of specific and appropriate heuristics for these types of websites. Moreover, we think that heuristics can help detecting problems related to UX, and not limited to usability aspects (Quiñones et al., 2018, Quiñones and Rusu, 2019).This article presents a set of 10 heuristics to evaluate the UX of geoportals. The heuristics were developed using the methodology proposed by Quiñones et al. (2018). The methodology proposes eight stages to develop and validate a new set of heuristics and can be applied iteratively, repeating the stages that are necessary to refine the proposed set. We performed a preliminary validation with UX experts in order to refine and improve the proposed set of UX heuristics for geoportals.

An important and difficult challenge in building computational models for narratives is the automatic evaluation of narrative quality. Quality evaluation connects narrative understanding and generation as generation systems need to evaluate their own products. To circumvent difficulties in acquiring annotations, we employ upvotes in social media as an approximate measure for story quality. We collected 54,484 answers from a crowd-powered question-and-answer website, Quora, and then used active learning to build a classifier that labeled 28,320 answers as stories. To predict the number of upvotes without the use of social network features, we create neural networks that model textual regions and the interdependence among regions, which serve as strong benchmarks for future research. To our best knowledge, this is the first large-scale study for automatic evaluation of narrative quality.

People living with some type of disability continue to encounter barriers that prevent them from participating in society on equal terms and their rights continue to be violated. Among these rights, the full enjoyment of communication in an independent and accessible manner, using information and communication technologies, is a commitment acquired by the signatory countries of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Inclusive and equitable access to full participation in democratic processes is fundamental. Elections to designate constitutional president and vice president of the Republic of Ecuador for the period 2021-2025 were held on February 7, 2021. Some 13 million citizens were called to vote, including more than 425,000 citizens with disabilities. In Ecuador, voting is compulsory for citizens between 18 and 65 years of age, and the voting document is requisite for access to services in government offices. Ecuador was the sixth country in Latin America to call its citizens to the polls amid the pandemic. This unprecedented situation forced the National Electoral Council to change the traditional voting process, including a larger number of polling stations and ordering voters to go to the polls unaccompanied to avoid crowds and minimize contagion. In this context, the National Electoral Council made available to citizens a website that allowed, among other features, to consult the voting location and follow the election results in real-time. The objective of this study was to identify accessibility barriers in these web pages for users using assistive technology. The methodology employed for the analysis was experiential introspection complemented with the use of two automatic evaluation tools based on the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and the Usability.gov guidelines. Accessibility and usability problems were found on the voting location consultation page. Additionally, the voting results page presented very serious accessibility problems to the extent that prevented blind users from obtaining such information.
