Research has shown that Brazilians tend to insert a vowel before word-initial /s/-clusters and to voice the /s/ depending on the following consonant features (e.g., Cornelian, 2003; Rauber, 2006; Rebello & Baptista, 2006). The present study investigated the perception and production of /s/-clusters in the Brazilian Portuguese/English interphonology and effects of perceptual training on learners' performance. The data collection was carried out through a pretest, a training phase, a posttest, and a retention test. Production was assessed by four reading tests and an interview. Perception was assessed by an AX discrimination task and by a forced-choice identification test similar to the task used in the training, but with additional words and recorded by an unfamiliar talker. The main objective of the study was to verify whether perceptual training would lead to improvement in perception and production. Transfer of training to a discrimination task and to untrained words was also tested. The training was designed following a high-variability approach (Logan et al., 1991) with difficulty gradually increasing throughout the training program. The training set consisted of two-alternative-forced-choice identification trials with immediate feedback and replay allowed after hitting the decision key. The stimuli consisted of phrases recorded by two Americans. The results showed that the phonological context did not significantly affect perception and production and that /s/+sonorant clusters were more difficult than /s/+stop clusters in both perception and production. There was improvement in identification, transfer to production, to discrimination and to untrained clusters. Improvement in identification, discrimination, and production was still detected in an eight-month follow-up test. Correlations between identification, discrimination, and production were stronger before training because the improvement in performance varied considerably among the tasks. Estudos anteriores sobre /sC(C)/ em início de palavras mostraram que brasileiros tem a tendência de inserir uma vogal antes de /sC(C)/ iniciais e de vozear o /s/ dependendo dos traços fonológicos do som posterior (e.g., Cornelian, 2003; Rauber, 2006; Rebello & Baptista, 2006). O presente estudo investigou a percepção e a produção de /sC(C)/ iniciais na interfonologia do Português do Brasil/Inglês além de efeitos do treinamento perceptual na percepção e produção de /sC(C)/. A coleta de dados consistiu de um teste anterior, treinamento, um teste posterior e um teste de retenção. A produção foi acessada através de quatro testes de leitura e de uma entrevista. Percepção foi também acessada através de uma tarefa de discriminação AX e de um teste de identificação com alternativa dupla similar à tarefa de treinamento, com palavras extras e um locutor diferente. O objetivo principal era verificar se o treinamento perceptual provocaria melhora na percepção e na produção de /sC(C)/ iniciais. Transferência de treinamento para uma tarefa de discriminação e para palavras não treinadas também foi testada. O treinamento foi projetado seguindo uma abordagem de alta variação (e.g., Logan et al., 1991) com dificuldade gradualmente aumentando depois de cada bloco de treinamento. O programa de treinamento consistiu em questões de dupla alternativa com retroalimentação imediata e possibilidade de escutar o estímulo conforme vontade do participante até que uma resposta fosse dada. Os estímulos consistiam de frases gravadas por dois americanos. Os resultados mostraram que o contexto fonológico não afetou de forma significativa a produção e a percepção de /sC(C)/ e que /s/+soante sofreram mais modificações que /s/+plosiva tanto na percepção quanto na produção. Houve melhora na identificação e transferência de melhora para produção, discriminação e /sC(C)/ não treinados. Melhora na identificação, discriminação e produção ainda foram detectadas no teste administrado oito meses após o treinamento. Correlações entre identificação, discriminação e produção reduziram após o treinamento devido às diferenças na melhora de desempenho entre as tarefas testadas.

Abstract : Many studies conducted so far showed that Brazilians tend to insert a prothetic vowel preceding English /s/-clusters, as a way to structure syllables (Bettoni-Techio, 2008; Cornelian, 2003, 2010; Rauber, 2002, 2004; Rebello, 1997). Taking into consideration the difficulty Brazilians usually face when it comes to producing /s/-clusters, the present study aimed at investigating the production of word-initial /s/-clusters by Brazilian future EFL teachers in Bahia, as a means to verify whether the participants of the present research could produce the /s/-clusters in a target-like fashion. The objective of this study was also to check whether type of cluster and preceding phonological context played a role in the participants? production. The data collection took place at the Universidade do Estado da Bahia (UNEB), with seven participants with an intermediate level of English proficiency. Furthermore, two types of tests were used (a Sentence-Reading Test and an Image-Description Test) to check whether task type affects production. Additionally, a questionnaire and a proficiency test were administered, which could also contribute to account for the results. The participants were audio recorded while they read the 24 sentences containing /s/-clusters in the Sentence-Reading test and described the images in the Image-Description Test. The present study, four different types of cluster (/sp/, /spr/, /st/ and /str/) in three different preceding contexts (a vowel, a consonant or a silence) were taken into account in order to check the most difficult type of cluster and environment. The findings of this research showed that the Sentence-Reading Test had higher rates of prothetic vowel occurrences than the Image-Description Test and the participants seemed to have more difficulty with three-member clusters, and also when the preceding context was a vowel. Another important discussion was related to the nature of the prothetic vowel that the participants produced in both tests. Considering the F1 value, which has to do with tongue height, and the F2 value, which is related to tongue retraction (Yavas, 2011), the participants produced a prothetic vowel similar to the English and BP /i/, in terms of height, but with the tongue more retracted, similar to the English /I/ ? a prothetic vowel of hybrid nature. Considering the results of the present study, we can see that English /s/-clusters lead to pronunciation difficulties and that this syllable pattern should be addressed and practiced in the language classroom to improve the oral production of BP learners of English.

Muitos estudos conduzidos até o presente momento mostraram que brasileiros tendem a inserir uma vogal protética antecedendo os encontros consonantais iniciados em /s/ do inglês, também como um modo de estruturação de sílabas (Bettoni-Techio, 2008; Cornelian, 2003, 2010; Rauber, 2002, 2004; Rebello, 1997). Levando em consideração a dificuldade que os brasileiros geralmente teve com relação à produção de /s/-clusters, o presente estudo teve como intenção investigar a produção de /s/-clusters em posição inicial por brasileiros futuros professores de inglês como língua estrangeira na Bahia, avaliando se os participantes desta pesquisa conseguiram atingir a produção alvo das /s/-clusters. O objetivo deste estudo foi também checar se o tipo de cluster e o tipo de contexto fonológico que o antecedia exerciam algum papel na produção dos participantes. A coleta de dados aconteceu na Universidade do Estado da Bahia (UNEB), com sete participantes de nível intermediário de Inglês como LE. Dois tipos de testes foram aplicados (um teste de leitura de sentenças e um teste de descrição de imagens) com a intenção de ver se o tipo de teste afeta de alguma forma a produção. Além desses, um questionário e um teste de proficiência foram aplicados, os quais puderam contribuir para a interpretação dos resultados. Os participantes foram gravados enquanto liam as 24 sentenças contendo /s/-clusters no teste de leitura de sentenças e enquanto descreviam imagens no teste de descrição de imagens. No presente estudo, quatro tipos diferentes de cluster (/sp/, /spr/, /st/ e /str/), em três diferentes contextos antecedentes, foram levados em consideração para que fosse analisado o tipo de cluster e contexto mais difíceis. Os resultados desta pesquisa mostraram que o teste de leitura de sentenças teve taxas de ocorrência maiores de inserção vocálica que o teste de descrição de imagens e, aparentemente, os participantes tiveram mais dificuldade com clusters de três membros e quando o contexto precedente às clusters era de vogal. Outra observação importante é em relação à natureza da vogal protética que os participantes produziram em ambos os testes. Considerando o valor de F1, o qual se refere à altura da língua e o valor de F2, o qual está relacionado à retração da língua (Yavas, 2011), os participantes produziram uma vogal protética similar ao /i/ do inglês e do português brasileiro no que diz respeito à altura, porém com a língua mais retraída, semelhante ao /I/ do inglês uma vogal protética de natureza híbrida. Considerando os resultados do presente estudo, podemos dizer que /s/-clusters do inglês levam a dificuldades de pronúncia que deveriam ser discutidas e praticadas em sala de aula de língua inglesa, a fim de melhorar a produção oral de brasileiros aprendizes do inglês.

O presente Trabalho Final de Mestrado, essencialmente de revisão bibliográfica, se propôs a refletir sobre "o poder da palavra em sua esfera conceitual" e para isso, o entende como "ponte que pode intermediar a autonomia da pessoa" ou de várias delas quando em um grupo. Para tanto, organizou-se em capítulos, que demonstram através de sutis "múltiplas dimensões", a saber: antropológica, educacional e religiosa, a estruturação dessas pontes na busca pelo direito de dizer a própria palavra. Precedendo o primeiro capítulo fez-se um breve feedback pela história tentando mostrar a relevância do poder da palavra no desenvolvimento da humanidade até encontrar-se nos moldes como é conhecida atualmente. Esse feedback perpassou pelo escravo, pela mulher, pela criança, pela pessoa com necessidade especial, pelo negro, pelo índio, pelo pobre, ou seja, por aqueles que realmente tiveram por longo tempo seu direito à palavra negado. A dimensão antropológica trouxe em si discussões sobre a "ética do cuidado pessoal, coletivo e planetário", onde foi possível constatar que o direito de dizer a própria palavra está diretamente relacionado à postura decisiva e ao trato humanitário primeiramente pessoal e em seguida coletivo. E essa postura mostrou que consequentemente se reflete no bem estar planetário. A dimensão educacional tratou das "teorias de formação multiprofissional e sua perspectiva multireferencial por meio da gestão para a liderança e a espiritualidade e, as interfaces da práxis docente: saber e mediar o aprender a dizer a própria palavra." Nessa, observou-se que as características da nova formação profissional docente e a atual maneira de compreender e conduzir a educação possibilitam em demasiado a auto-sensibilização e conscientização dessa nova geração de cidadãos que certamente saberão requerer e utilizar com segurança e propriedade seu direito à palavra. Por fim, a dimensão religiosa apresentou a "abordagem da fé". Esse capítulo enfatizou a autonomia da palavra absolutamente pessoal quando se trata de relacionamento espiritual, entretanto, com vistas ao respeito e participação junto às tradições e às culturas religiosas. Juntas essas dimensões ou pontes estruturais, podem possibilitar a sensibilização, a conscientização, a motivação e finalmente a (transform)ação dessas pessoas/cidadãs em prol do seu direito de posicionar-se e de se fazerem ver, ouvir e consequentemente, respeitar frente à sociedade em suas distintas esferas, pois, se compreendidas e manifestadas, essas concretizam a palavra pessoal autônoma. Desta forma, afirma Freire que, dizer a sua palavra não é privilégio nem direito de alguns homens, mas sim, de todos eles. Falar apenas do direito à palavra é ainda uma postura branda, visto que ter opinião e ação é um dever de todo cidadão consciente e comprometido com seu meio. Portanto, nesse contexto (e parafraseando Clarice Lispector) entende-se e acredita-se que a força da 'minha' palavra tem poder de domínio sobre as transformações do 'meu' mundo.
This Final Work of Master essentially a literature review aimed to reflect on "the power of the word in its conceptual sphere" and for that, understand it as a "bridge that can mediate a person's autonomy" or several of them when a group. To this end, organized into chapters, which show through subtle "multiple dimensions", namely: anthropological, religious and educational, the structuring of these bridges/ways in the search for the right to say the word. Preceding the first chapter has a brief history feedback by trying to show the relevance of the power of the word in the development of mankind to find himself in the mold as it is known today. This feedback pervaded by the slave, the woman, the child, the person with special needs, the black, the Indian, the poor, or, for those who really had long denied their right to speak. The anthropological dimension itself brought discussions about the "ethics of care staff, collective and planetary", where it was found that the right to say the word itself is directly related to posture and decisive humanitarian behavior first personal and then collective. And this attitude showed that consequently is reflected in global welfare. The educational dimension dealt with the "theories of the formation and its multidisciplinary perspective multireferential through management to leadership and spirituality, and the interfaces of practice teaching: mediating learning and learning to say the word." In this, it was observed that the features of the new teacher training and the current way of understanding and conduct education possible in too self-awareness and awareness of this new generation of citizens who know certainly require and safely use their property and right to speak. Finally, the religious dimension presented "approach to faith." This chapter emphasizes the autonomy of the word entirely when it comes to personal spiritual relationship, however, in order to respect and participation with the traditions and religious cultures. Together these dimensions or structural bridges, can enable the awareness, awareness, motivation and finally to (transform)action of these people / citizens in favor of his right to position themselves and make themselves see, hear and therefore comply with front society in its different spheres, for if understood and expressed, those delivering the personal word autonomous. Thus, Freire says that, saying his word is not a privilege or right of some men, but of them all. Speaking only of the right to speak is still a soft stance, as to have an opinion and action is a duty of every citizen conscious and committed to their surroundings. Therefore, in this context (and paraphrasing Clarice Lispector) means and it is believed that the strength of 'my' word has power of control over the transformation of 'my' world.

The focus of this study was on the effect of word processing on the quality of the composing process, product, and attitudes of adult academic ESL writers. Twenty adult ESL students, comprising an ‘intact’ EAP (English for Academic Purposes) group, completed a number of written assignments as part of their ESL unit, using either word processing or conventional ‘pen and paper’ composition methods. Their handwritten and word processed work was analysed and compared through the use of an holistic/analytic scale of writing quality. In addition to this analysis of the ‘finished product’, texts were analysed in terms of the frequency, nature and extent of revisions made within the composition process. Statistical analysis of the writing quality and revision data – as well as audio-taped verbal protocols from selected subjects, interviews, and observational notes, were used to determine the effect (s) of word processing on the composing process, product and attitudes of these subjects. The data indicate that word processing does improve writing quality – and that it also influences revising behaviours and subject attitudes towards writing. There does not appear, for these subjects, to have been any significant correlation between revision and writing quality.

O presente trabalho estuda a relação entre o silêncio de YHWH, anunciado em Am 8,11-12 e que é manifestado pela retirada da palavra profética por meio da metáfora do envio da fome, com a rejeição desta mesma palavra pela nação, representada por Amasias, o líder da religião de Israel, tal como é relatado em Am 7,10-17. Esta pesquisa dá especial atenção à função mediadora do profeta, sua inesperada e irresistível vocação, seu senso de missão e sua identificação com a palavra de YHWH. A presença dos profetas é favor divino e sinal de que YHWH quer comunicar-se com o seu povo; o povo, por sua vez, precisa ouvir as palavras de YHWH. A rejeição da palavra de YHWH mediada pelos profetas implica, segundo o livro de Amós, em severo juízo que culminará no fim da nação. O fim do povo começou com o silêncio divino.
The present work studies the relation between the silence of YHWH, announced in Am 8,11-12 that is expressed by the withdrawal of the prophetic word through the hungry send metaphor, with this word s rejection by the nation, represented by Amasias, leather of Israel s religion, as related in Am 7,10-17. This search gives a special attention to the prophet s mediating function, his unexpected and irresistible vocation, his sense of mission and identification with the YHWH s word. The prophets presence is a divine favor and a signal that YHWH wants to communicate Himself with His people; the people need to hear the YHWH s words. The YHWH word s rejection through the prophet implies, according Amos s book, in a severe judgment that will culminate in the end of the nation. The end of the people started with the divine silence.

He abdicated enjoying life to transform it into his work, built up considering the author s deep knowledge in theories of occult sciences, making alchemy and occultism an important authorial strategy, transforming his knowledge to an esthetic resource for his work, from the very first until the last poem as the biggest alchemic work ever seen in a literature. Such realization maybe doesn t have the same effects for the occult sciences, however its symbolic, metaphoric and analogical power depurate the literature, at the same time, it looks towards to sublimate the poet s life through his work.
Fernando Pessoa modificou radicalmente a cultura de seu país, levando sua nação para a posição de vanguarda na cultura moderna. Abdicou de gozar sua vida para transformá-la na sua obra que foi construída levando em consideração seus vastos conhecimentos de teorias das ciências ocultas, fazendo da alquimia e do ocultismo uma importante estratégia autoral, transformando-os em recurso estético para sua obra que pode ser vista do primeiro ao último poema como o maior tratado de alquimia em uma obra literária. Tal realização talvez não tenha grandes efeitos dentro das ciências ocultas, mas seu poder simbólico, metafórico e analógico depura a literatura, ao mesmo tempo em que busca sublimar a vida de um poeta através de sua obra.

Service quality and service recovery has been found to play a significant role in customer satisfaction and future purchase intentions. Many studies have been conducted on how to manage either the company perspective or customer perspective of these two concepts. Using the findings from five qualitative company interviews and three customer focus groups, this study addresses the purpose “to identify similarities and differences between the company and customer perspectives of service recovery in a quality system online”. The research identifies how companies in the service industry work with their websites and customer service as a tool for service quality and recovery. The company perspective is then compared to identified customer preferences in order to find similarities and differences that needs to be improved. The qualitative surveys are based on six dimensions of two existing models for service quality and service recovery online and the findings show similarities in all six dimensions, as well as several differences.

Pesquisar a relação entre a escrita musical de três compositores que residem no Alentejo - Christopher Bochmann, Amílcar Vasques Dias, João Nascimento - e os aspetos históricos, geográficos, etnográficos e antropológicos da região é o domínio da primeira parte desta investigação. A Demanda de um ethos musical trata da reflexão sobre a possibilidade de se estabelecer uma conexão entre o ato criativo revisto em determinados gestos musicais [objetos musicais] e elementos estruturais da cultura alentejana [substância alentejana] num tempo em que predomina o estilo individual do compositor e o efeito de um mundo global que escurece a perspetiva identitária do local. Relacionar gestos ou aspetos musicais com dimensões geográficas e culturais implicou indagar sobre a possibilidade de conceber a música como representante de algo mais do que sons. Na sua conclusão esta investigação entende que a identidade musical alentejana, porque o perfil do compositor contemporâneo é o da individualidade e o da originalidade, dificilmente pode ser reconhecida. Percebe-se, contudo, que na subliminar intencionalidade criativa do compositor subsiste um plano de fundo comum, que se denominou por pressuposto básico e que resulta da interação com os elementos da própria substância alentejana. O reconhecimento de alguma proximidade de significado entre determinado gesto musical e um certo elemento da substância foi estruturado num sistema relacional. Não haverá um estilo musical alentejano reconhecido mas haverá, por certo, um ethos musical comum aos três compositores. A segunda parte deste trabalho inclui um conjunto de obras musicais, para diversas formações, com referências ao Alentejo e que paralelamente a este processo de investigação foram escritas procurando realizar a matéria desta investigação. A última destas obras, Alentejo Devido, resume um conjunto de gestos, procedimentos e pensamentos musicais que se intentam como particularmente alentejanos; Abstract: Alentejo: The Demand for a musical ethos To research the relation between the musical writing of three composers that reside in the Alentejo - Christopher Bochmann, Amílcar Vasques Dias and João Nascimento and the historical, geographic, ethnographic and anthropological aspects of the region are the domain of the first part of this study. The Demand for a musical ethos deals with the reflection on the possibility of establishing a connection between the revised creative art in certain musical gestures [musical objects] and the structural elements in the Alentejo culture [alentejo substance] in a time that prevails the personal style of the composer and the effect of a global world that shadows the perspective of local identity. To relate musical gestures or musical aspects with geographical and cultural dimensions implied to question about the possibility of understanding music beyond only sounds. One comes to the conclusion that the Alentejo musical identity can't be easily recognized due to the profile of the contemporary composer being of individual and original style. However it is understood that in the composer's subliminal creative intentionality there is a common background that was denominated by basic assumption and is the result of the interaction with the elements of the self Alentejo substance. The recognition of some similarity between a certain musical gesture and a certain element of the substance was structured in a relational system. There won't be a recognized Alentejo musical style but for sure there will be a common musical ethos for the three composers. The second part of this task includes a set of musical works for different formations (levels), with reference to the Alentejo and in parallel to this process of study which were written in aiming to realize the material for this investigation. The last of these works, Alentejo Devido, summarizes a set of gestures, procedures and musical thoughts that are purely from Alentejo.

Cette thèse se propose de dégager les enjeux esthétiques, éthiques et politiques des poésies et pratiques expérimentales de 1960 à 1980, à partir de l’étude des œuvres de J. Blaine, W. S. Burroughs et E. Miccini. Ce travail développe une réflexion sur les expérimentations poétiques qui ont lieu durant une période de fortes mutations sociétales, économiques et médiatiques. Après la mise en place d’une généalogie des pratiques expérimentales que sont le collage et le montage, il s’agit d’inscrire ces poésies expérimentales, généralement occultées des histoires littéraires, dans un modèle néo-avant-gardiste, qui implique une réévaluation de pratiques héritées du début du XXe siècle et un fonctionnement en réseau, faisant dialoguer l’individuel et le collectif. Dès lors, la thèse démontre que le renouvellement du poétique qui s’opère à l’ère d’une société de l’image est tributaire de l’évolution technique : il s’agit de créer avec et contre le livre. Le nouveau rapport entre création poétique et livresque et problématiques de la reproductibilité, favorisée principalement par l’offset, engendre une mise en perspective de l’œuvre avec la notion d’empreinte. L’empreinte constitue ainsi un nouveau paradigme entérinant le statut ontologique instable d’une œuvre qui travaille la matérialité de son support et qui altère une traditionnelle dimension uniquement verbale. La résistance aux formes traditionnelles implique ainsi un engagement, dans la forme et dans le fond : différentes stratégies sont alors développées par les auteurs, permettant d’établir des politiques esthétiques dont l’objectif est de proposer au lecteur/spectateur une expérience esthétique formatrice et éthique
This thesis aims to identify the aesthetic, ethical and political issues of experimental poetry from 1960 to 1980. It deals with the works of J. Blaine, W. S. Burroughs and E. Miccini. This work offers a reflection upon the poetic experiments taking place during a period of strong societal, economic and media switch. After the establishment of a genealogy of the experimental practices of collage and montage, it is now about placing this experimental poetry in a neo-avant-garde model, which involves a re-evaluation of practices inherited from the beginning of the twentieth century and a functioning in a network, making the individual and the collective dialogue. Henceforth, the thesis shows that the renewal of the poetics that takes place in the era of a society of the image relies on on technical evolution : it is about creating with and against the book. The new relationship between poetic. The new relationship between poetic and book-based creation and issues of reproducibility, mainly by offset, creates a perspective of the work with the notions of imprint and ruin. Thus, the imprint constitutes a new paradigm which endorses the unstable ontological status of a work which works on the materiality of its support and which alters a traditional, only verbal dimension. Resistance to traditional forms implies a commitment, in form and substance : different strategies are then developed by the authors, which allow to establish aesthetic policies of which the aim is to make the reader / spectator access a formative and ethical aesthetic experience

Analisou-se neste trabalho a produção científica brasileira, no campo da Saúde, por meio da pesquisa de publicações, constantes da base de dados \"Web of Knowledge\", no período de 1990 a 2002. A pesquisa incluiu 3.066 revistas desse campo do conhecimento. Nesse período foram contabilizadas 38.349 publicações. Os métodos bibliométricos tradicionais e a \"co-word analysis\" foram utilizados como instrumento de análise para medir a atividade científica no campo da saúde. O pacote estatístico, Statistical Package for Social Science - SPSS, foi utilizado para a obtenção dos indicadores bibliométricos tradicionais. Demonstraram-se as etapas de trabalho e a potencialidade da \"co-word analysis\". Foram estudadas as palavras que representam os descritores e identificadores na base de dados e estas foram relacionadas com outras variáveis como autores, ano de publicação e filiação da publicação. Para tal, utilizou-se o \"Tétralogie\", um software que aplica tratamentos estatísticos para conseguir que o grau de co-ocorrência entre as palavras seja representado como distâncias no espaço. Desta forma, as palavras podem ser visualizadas como pontos no espaço, por meio dos mapas tecnológicos e a distância entre elas será representativa de sua co-ocorrência ou afinidade. Os mapas tecnológicos permitiram a identificação de redes de cooperação entre pesquisadores e instituições, bem como identificação de \"clusters\" entre autores e as palavras descritoras do campo de conhecimento estudado. Esta abordagem para a área de avaliação em Ciência e Tecnologia demonstrou ampliar as análises bibliométricas tradicionais, e pode incrementar as atividades de planejamento e definição de ações estratégicas indicando, para onde e como se poderiam dirigir esforços para desenvolvimento do campo estudado.
This work analyzed Brazilian scientific production in the health sciences field by analysis of publications present in the database \"Web of knowledge\" in the period from 1990 to 2002. The study covered 3,066 journals in this field of knowledge. During this period a total of 38,349 Brazilian publications were found. Bibliometric analysis and \"co-word analysis\" were used to measure the scientific activity in health sciences. A statistical software package (Statistical Package for Social Science – SPSS) was used to determine traditional bibliometric analysis. The words representing descriptors and identifiers in the database had been studied and the relationship to other variables such as authors, publication year, and affiliation within the publication was determined. For this analysis, the \"Tétralogie\" software that applies statistical methods to measure the co-occurrence among words and represents this measure as distances in space was used. In this way, words can be visualized as points in space on a map. The maps and distances between words will represent the co-occurrence or affinity between keywords. The technological maps have shown networks of cooperation among researchers and institutions, as well as identification of \"clusters\" of authors and a hierarchy of the descriptive keywords. This approach for evaluation of science and technology demonstrated an extension of the traditional bibliometric analysis and showed that it could improve planning activities by identification of strategic actions pointing to where and how efforts for improvement in the field of health sciences should be directed.

The core of approach of the writer Osman Lins s lies in a restoration of the process of reconstructing the connection between the modern man to cosmos, applied to the called narratives abject, term of Walter Benjamin. That is because, when Middle Age allegory was rescued, Osman Lins constructs an interpretative way of this process that has as epicenter images of insects and animals, bases of the figurative metaphorical work of novels in analysis: Engagement, the Transparent Bird and Pentagon of Hahn and other narratives of Nine, Novena. In these, the sense of meaning emerges from the corrosion of relations between things that transform the living creatures into ruin, whose great effect is the loss of stability due to accumulation of information, in favor of the mutation dissection. The work of displacement of the language to the verbal communication makes Osman Lins s literary creation a way of domain the analogous words to the ones of the poetry, however in prose liberated by the allegory image. When making animals and insects a door of entrance to a world of mystery and fancy, also makes a constant investigation in histories of novels, established for the resignation to any mode of technology or totalitarian ideology applied to them. Tropo is a figure in libertarian use which occurs a transformation of allegory in image of contaminated novel Nine, Novena. The narratives in study are resultant of an attitude of rejection of the writer to stereotypes given to common-place in literary exercise, however dislocated by improvisation in a way to tell that it shows deformation and contamination under other affinities equivalents to the narrative statement: the objective is to return the identity to the language. The narrative representative work in Nine, Novena shows the man facing conflicts of modernity laid in cause of exploration to the meaning of abject, when stirring a reader up, by this means, to the reflection on automation, alienation and solitude, and, consequently, inaugurating a new time in Brazilian society in the second half of century XX: the word-animal making slit , new lives production in body-words.. The first chapter, Correlations of fragmentary narrative and the novel type, deals with the conceptual work of transformation and displacement of literal form of medieval allegory for a renowned and transfigured modality of Osman Lins s novel, in parallel to the illustration of Braque: Roofs of Céret. Second chapter, Allegorical confrontations: conceptual and artistic, it displays the visual descriptive and ornamental exercise in comparison to the illustration La Dame à La the Licorne, placing the medieval wonderful element in the motivation of the animal characters, personages in novels. The third chapter, Forms of ingenious concept: allegorical and metaphors, made possible the analysis of novels under the contamination of other visual symbols, pointing the distinguishing marks given by fragment and discursive contamination, for the poetical principles of analogy, comparison, irony, metaphorical and mosaic image plastic exhibitions methodologies and procedures of reading and interpretation. O núcleo de abordagem das novelas do escritor Osman Lins instaura-se no processo de reconstrução da ligação do homem moderno ao cosmo, aplicado às narrativas denominadas abjetas, termo de Walter Benjamin. Isso porque, ao recuperar a alegoria da Idade Média, Osman Lins edifica uma via interpretativa desse processo que tem como epicentro imagens de insetos e animais, bases do trabalho metafórico figurativo das novelas em análise: Noivado, O Pássaro Transparente e Pentágono de Hahn e outras narrativas de Nove, Novena. Nestas, o sentido da significação emerge da corrosão das relações entre as coisas que transformam os seres vivos em ruínas, cujo grande efeito é a perda da estabilidade dada pela acumulação de informação, em favor da fragmentação e da mutação. O trabalho de deslocamento da língua para a linguagem faz da criação literária de Osman Lins um modo de domar as palavras análogas às da poesia, todavia em prosa liberada pela imagem alegórica. Ao fazer dos animais e insetos uma porta de entrada a um mundo de mistério e fantasia, também faz uma indagação constante nas histórias das novelas, instalada pela renúncia a qualquer modalidade de tecnologia ou ideologia totalitária a elas aplicada. O tropo é a figura em uso libertário pelo qual ocorre a transformação da alegoria em imagem na novela contaminada Nove, Novena. As narrativas em estudo são resultantes de uma atitude de rejeição do escritor aos estereótipos dados pelos lugares-comuns no exercício literário, porém deslocados pela improvisação de um modo de narrar que mostra deformação e contaminação sob outras afinidades equivalentes ao enunciado narrativo: o objetivo é devolver a identidade à linguagem. O trabalho representacional narrativo em Nove, Novena exibe o homem diante dos conflitos da modernidade posto em causa pela exploração da acepção do abjeto, ao incitar, por essa via, o leitor à reflexão sobre a automatização, a alienação e a solidão, e, conseqüentemente, inaugurando uma nova época na sociedade brasileira na segunda metade do século XX: o bicho-palavra produzindo fissuras , produção de novos objetos vivos em palavras-corpo. O primeiro capítulo, Correlações da narrativa fragmentária e do gênero novela, trata do trabalho conceitual da transformação e deslocamento da forma literal da alegoria medieval para uma modalidade renomada e transfigurada da novela de Osman Lins, em paralelo à ilustração de Braque: Telhados de Céret. Slogans can be attributed as a way in which to communicate a brand's message to its key consumer. An effectively established brand amongst targeted consumers can in turn generate profitability and ever further promote the brand. The purpose of this paper was to investigate the effectiveness of advertisements that employ vague or precise cosmetic product brand slogans among both male and female consumers. Ultimately, the end goal of marketing is to make a sale. Additionally, the purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the length of a slogan is an influential factor on the participant's motivation to purchase a cosmetic or skincare product. Data was collected through the use of survey in an online social media format, in order to test the effectiveness of different lengths of slogans for slogan recall, brand recall, brand awareness and purchase intention. Prior research and hypotheses were used to predict the concept that shorter more concise or precise slogans in this study would heighten the levels of all measured variables in the study, slogan recall, brand recall, brand awareness and purchase intention. The results of this paper conclude overall vague slogans have the potential to reach higher levels of slogan recall ability , brand recall and the intent to purchase, on the contrary shorter more precise slogans affect brand awareness at a greater level than the lengthier slogans.

This thesis analyzes the grammar of the psychological vocabulary with the idea that inner world (the subjectivity) and external world (the behavior) are connected by grammatical relations which must be clarified through a conceptual inquiry and not through empirical findings. To reach to the objective we analyzed the common point of view that we have of our inner world and traces the linkings between our affirmations about the inner world and how they acquire meaning from this common point of view. The following step was to analyze the conception of privacy that the common point of view attributes to the events of the inner world. After this we argue that the common conception does not could be a base for the construction of a philosophical explanation of the inner world. Therefore the objective of the common vision of our interior world is not to elaborate a scientific explanation. At the same time we conclude that our common conception of the psychological vocabulary is not a proto-theory that must be developed by the philosophical investigations. From this we open the way to present the philosophical point of view of Ludwig Wittgenstein about the psychological vocabulary. We explain this point of view to clarify our objective. Subsequently we presents the conception of language of Wittgenstein and we link his conception with the way for which he treated or understanding of the psychological vocabulary. With this explanation we show that when we are dealing with the affirmations of our inner world - our psychological vocabulary - we are not contending with a dichotomy between behaviorism and Cartesianism. Wittgenstein shows that we have another form to explain our language about the inner world. According to Wittgenstein's philosophy of the psychology our behavior is an expression of the inner world, that is, the inner if express world through the behavior despite if it does not reduce to the behavior. With such idea, Wittgenstein admits that the relation enters our affirmations on the interior world cannot be understood in isolated way of our behavior. At the same time, our behavior alone is not the criterion for understanding of the inner world, is necessary that the behavior be considered inside of a specific language game that is our use of our concepts of the psychological vocabulary.
Ao partir do princípio de que o mundo interior (a subjetividade) e o mundo exterior (o comportamento) estão ligados entre si por relações gramaticais, esta tese analisa a gramática do vocabulário psicológico. Propõe que estas relações gramaticais devem ser esclarecidas através de uma investigação conceitual, e não por investigações, empíricas. Para que alcancemos o objetivo desejado, foi analisado o ponto de vista comum que temos de nosso mundo interior. Tal visão traça as ligações entre as nossas afirmações sobre o mundo interior e como elas adquirem significado a partir deste ponto de vista comum. O passo seguinte consistiu em analisar a concepção de privacidade que o ponto de vista comum atribui aos eventos do mundo interior. Demonstramos, após estas análises, que a concepção comum não serve de base para a construção de uma explicação filosófica do mundo interior e das afirmações que dele fazemos. Isto porque o objetivo da visão comum de nosso mundo interior não é a de elaborar uma explicação científica. Ao mesmo tempo, mostramos que nossa concepção comum do vocabulário psicológico não é uma proto-teoria que deve ser desenvolvida pela Filosofia. Com isto, abrimos caminho para apresentar o ponto de vista filosófico de Ludwig Wittgenstein sobre o vocabulário psicológico. Para que este ponto de vista fosse explicativo em relação ao nosso objetivo, apresentamos a concepção de linguagem de Wittgenstein, ligando esta concepção com o modo como Wittgenstein tratou o vocabulário psicológico. Através desta análise, mostramos que, ao tratarmos com as afirmações de nosso mundo interior nosso vocabulário psicológico não estamos diante de uma dicotomia entre behaviorismo e cartesianismo. Isto, pelo fato de termos outra possibilidade de tratar nossa linguagem quando nos referimos ao mundo interior. Segundo a Filosofia da Psicologia, de Ludwig Wittgenstein, o comportamento é uma expressão do mundo interior, isto é, o mundo interior se expressa através do comportamento, ainda que a este não se reduza. A partir de tal ideia, Wittgenstein propõe que a relação entre as nossas afirmações sobre o mundo interior não podem ser compreendidas de maneira isolada de nosso comportamento. Juntemos a isto que tão somente o nosso comportamento não é critério para compreensão do mundo interior Portanto, há necessidade, de que o comportamento seja considerado dentro de um jogo de linguagem específico, que consiste no uso de nossos conceitos do vocabulário psicológico.

This thesis is concerned with the explanation of the word2vec models. Even though word2vec was introduced recently (2013), many researchers have already tried to extend, understand or at least use the model because it provides surprisingly rich semantic information. This information is encoded in N-dim vector representation and can be recall by performing some operations over the algebra. As an addition, I suggest a model modifications in order to obtain different word representation. To achieve that, I use public picture datasets. This thesis also includes parts dedicated to word2vec extension based on convolution neural network.

The National Conference of Bishops of Brazil, by means of Documents 43 and 52, inspires the ecclesial communities and guides their celebrations. It encourages communities to celebrate the Paschal Mystery of Christ that involves their lives, to celebrate the Passover of Christ along with the congregation Passover, through the Sunday Celebration of God´s Word conducted by laypeople. However, it is often noticed that there is a separation among personal, social life and religion, affecting the way communities celebrate, where people's lives are not tied to the liturgy and the latter, in turn, is not tied to people´s lives The believer´s life and the history of the humanity are not understood as Passover connected to the Passover of Jesus. Therefore, by analyzing documents 43 and 52 of the Brazilian Bishops and some elements of the liturgical tradition, as well as in the Church General Magisterium about life in the celebration, the aim of this paper is to highlight elements that encourage the integration between life and liturgy, especially regarding the Sunday Celebration of God´s Word. Such search will also verify that the liturgy celebrates the Passover happening in people's lives and history without making use of its authenticity and that the Sunday Celebration of God‟s Word authenticity resides in celebrating life as a Paschal process, as a passage from death to life, thanks to the liberating intervention of God. This paper also intends to state that the relation between liturgy and life helps the People of God, who participate in the celebrations, to existentially penetrate in the Mystery, manifesting it later on in their own lives‟ conducts

A Conferência Nacional dos Bispos do Brasil, por meio dos Documentos 43 e 52, anima as comunidades eclesiais e orienta suas celebrações. Incentiva as comunidades a celebrar o Mistério Pascal de Cristo que envolve as suas vidas, a celebrar a Páscoa dos fiéis na Páscoa de Cristo, através da Celebração Dominical da Palavra de Deus presidida por leigos e leigas. Porém, nota-se com frequência que há uma separação entre a vida pessoal, social e a religião, afetando o modo de celebrar de nossas comunidades, onde a vida das pessoas não incide na liturgia e esta, por sua vez, não incide na vida das pessoas. A vida do fiel e a história da humanidade não são compreendidos como Páscoa na Páscoa de Jesus. Por isso, ao analisar os Documentos 43 e 52 da CNBB e alguns elementos da tradição litúrgica e do magistério geral da Igreja sobre a vida na celebração, pretende-se destacar elementos que incentivem a integração entre vida e liturgia, especialmente no que diz respeito à Celebração Dominical da Palavra de Deus. Buscar-se-á, também, verificar que a liturgia celebra a Páscoa acontecendo na vida das pessoas e na história sem que seja instrumentalizada em sua autenticidade e que a própria autenticidade da Celebração Dominical da Palavra de Deus está em celebrar a vida como um processo pascal, como uma passagem da morte para vida, graças à libertadora intervenção de Deus. Deseja-se, ainda, apresentar que a relação entre liturgia e vida auxilia o povo de Deus, que participa das celebrações, a penetrar existencialmente no Mistério, manifestando-o depois na própria conduta de vida

La Bible anglo-normande est une traduction de la Bible du latin vers l’anglo-normand. Cette traduction est disponible dans deux manuscrits médiévaux du XIVe siècle (manuscrit de Paris et manuscrit de Londres). La thèse propose l’édition critique du livre de l’Exode en utilisant le manuscrit de Londres comme manuscrit principal et celui de Paris comme varia. La thèse est composée d’une introduction générale qui présente les manuscrits, suivie d’une présentation linguistique qui présente les aspects linguistiques propres à la langue anglo-normande d’un point de vue morphologique, morphosyntaxique et syntaxique. Ensuite, les principes d’édition présentent la méthodologie suivie pour l’édition des deux manuscrits, ainsi que des réflexions philologiques générales concernant la graphie, la phonétique et la codicologie. Enfin, l’édition du texte de l’Éxode est accompagnée d’un glossaire qui présente le lexique remarquable (anglo-normand, latin, moyen anglais) et d’une bibliographie. The Anglo-Norman Bible is a translation of the Bible from Latin to Anglo-Norman. There are two medieval translations (14th century) available, one is the Paris manuscript and the second is the London manuscript. This critical edition of the book of Exodus is based primarily on the London manuscript and the Paris manuscript is referred to for alternative readings. First, the thesis includes a general introduction presenting the manuscripts. Then, there is a linguistic analysis presenting the grammatical aspects specific to the Anglo-Norman language concerning morphology, morphosyntax and syntax. Additionally, the rules of editing present the methodology used for editing these manuscripts and some insights are provided about philology concerning writing, phonetic and codicology. Finally, the edition of the Exodus text, a glossary (presenting the interesting words in Anglo-Norman, Latin, Middle English), and a bibliography have been included. This critical edition aims to contribute to the understanding of the Anglo-Norman and Middle English languages (particularly existing dictionaries and manuals), making the Anglo-Norman Bible’s Exodus book more accessible

Prvotním cílem tohoto projektu bylo prostudovat problematiku jazykového modelování pro rozpoznávání řeči a techniky pro získávání textových dat z Webu. Text představuje základní techniky rozpoznávání řeči a detailněji popisuje jazykové modely založené na statistických metodách. Zvláště se práce zabývá kriterii pro vyhodnocení kvality jazykových modelů a systémů pro rozpoznávání řeči. Text dále popisuje modely a techniky dolování dat, zvláště vyhledávání informací. Dále jsou představeny problémy spojené se získávání dat z webu, a v kontrastu s tím je představen vyhledávač Google. Součástí projektu byl návrh a implementace systému pro získávání textu z webu, jehož detailnímu popisu je věnována náležitá pozornost. Nicméně, hlavním cílem práce bylo ověřit, zda data získaná z Webu mohou mít nějaký přínos pro rozpoznávání řeči. Popsané techniky se tak snaží najít optimální způsob, jak data získaná z Webu použít pro zlepšení ukázkových jazykových modelů, ale i modelů nasazených v reálných rozpoznávacích systémech.

La tesis se encarga de analizar, por un lado, la integración y el desarrollo de las nuevas tecnologías en la Administración de Justicia; y, por otro, los parámetros que constituyen la validez y eficacia del documento electrónico.
La primera cuestión se centra en la configuración de los Sistemas de Información de la Oficina Judicial y del Ministerio Fiscal, así como de la informatización de los Registros Civiles, donde el art. 230 LOPJ es la pieza clave. Se estudian sus programas, aplicaciones, la videoconferencia, los ficheros judiciales y las redes de telecomunicaciones que poseen la cobertura de la firma electrónica reconocida, donde cobran gran relevancia los convenios de colaboración tecnológica. La digitalización de las vistas quizá sea una de las cuestiones con más trascendencia, teniendo en cuenta que el juicio es el acto que culmina el proceso. Aunque no todos los proyectos adoptados en el ámbito de la e.justicia se han desarrollado de forma integral, ni han llegado a la totalidad de los órganos judiciales. El objetivo final es lograr una Justicia más ágil y de calidad, a lo cual aspira el Plan Estratégico de Modernización de la Justicia 2009-2012 aprobado recientemente.
En referencia a la segunda perspectiva, no cabe duda que el Ordenamiento jurídico y los tribunales, en el ámbito de la justicia material, otorgan plena validez y eficacia al documento electrónico. Nuestra línea de investigación se justifica porque cada vez son más los procesos que incorporan soportes electrónicos de todo tipo, ya sea al plantearse la acción o posteriormente como medio de prueba (art. 299.2 LEC). Entre otros temas examinamos el documento informático, la problemática que rodea al fax, los sistemas de videograbación y el contrato electrónico.
La tesi s'encarrega d'analitzar, per una part, la integració i el desenvolupament de les noves tecnologies dins l´Administració de Justícia; i, per l'altra, els paràmetres que constitueixen la validesa i l'eficàcia del document electrònic.
La primera qüestió es centra en la configuració dels Sistemes d´Informació de l´Oficina Judicial i del Ministeri Fiscal, així com de la informatització dels Registres Civils, on l'art. 230 LOPJ es la peça clau. S'estudien els seus programes, aplicacions, la videoconferència, el fitxers judicials i les xarxes de telecomunicacions que tenen la cobertura de la firma electrònica reconeguda, on cobren gran rellevància els convenis de col·laboració tecnològica. La digitalització de les vistes tal vegada sigui una de les qüestions amb més transcendència, tenint amb compte que el judici es l'acte que culmina el procés. Però no tots el projectes adoptats en l'àmbit de la e.justicia s'han desenvolupat d'una manera integral ni han arribat a la totalitat dels òrgans judicials. L'objectiu final es assolir una Justícia més àgil i de qualitat, al que aspira el Pla Estratègic de Modernització de la Justícia 2009-2012 aprovat recentment.

The thesis seeks to analyse, on the one hand, the integration and development of the new technologies in the Administration of Justice; and, on the other, the parameters which constitute the validity and efficiency of the electronic document.
The first question centres on the configuration of the Information Systems of the Judicial Office and the Public Prosecutor, as well as the computerisation of the Civil Registers, where the art. 230 LOPJ it's the part key. Their programmes, applications, the Video Conferencing, the judicial registers and the telecommunication networks which are covered by the recognised electronic signatures, are studied, where the agreements on technological collaboration gain great relevance. The digitalisation of evidence might perhaps be one of the questions with most consequence, bearing in mind that the judgment is the act by which the process is culminated. Although not all the projects adopted within the compass of e.justice have developed completely nor have reached all the judicial organs. The final objective is to achieve an agile, quality Justice, to which the recently approved Strategic Plan for the Modernisation of Justice aspires.
With reference to the second perspective, there is no doubt that the juridical Ordinance and the tribunals within the compass of material justice grant full validity and efficacy to the electronic document. Our line of investigation is justified because there are more and more processes which are sustained by electronic supports of all kinds, whether it be at the establishment of the action or later, as a proof of it (art. 299.2 LEC). Amongst other things, we examine the computerised document, the problems which surround the fax, the systems for video recording and the electronic contract.

The mutual exclusivity constraint, which is suggested to be one of the most often used strategies when children learn new words, refers to the finding that children often avoid two labels for the same object (Markman, 1994). This constraint is generally considered to have four effects-disambiguation, correction, rejection, and restriction effects (Merriman & Bowman, 1989). Davidson et al. (1997) further showed that the mutual exclusivity constraint would be affected by bilingualism; that is, bilingual children did not use the constraint as extensively as that of monolingual children. Pursuing this line of inquiry, the present study focused on Mandarin-Taiwanese bilingual children''s use of the mutual exclusivity constraint. Following Davidson et al. (1997), the present study comprised three tests; namely, the disambiguation test, the rejection test, and the restriction test, to examine whether bilingualism would affect children''s use of the mutual exclusivity constraints. Furthermore, these tests were accessed in three different input conditions, to examine these children''s sensitivities to different language inputs. These different input conditions included: (1) All-Mandarin: Throughout the test, only Mandarin was used, including the target artificial words; (2) Mixed-code: Throughout the test, only Mandarin was used, except that the target artificial names resemble to Taiwanese words in terms of phonological shapes; (3) All-Taiwanese: Throughout the test, only Taiwanese was used, including the target artificial words. 38 monolingual Mandarin-speaking and 58 Mandarin-Taiwanese bilingual children participated in the three tests, including younger (4-year-old) and older (6-year-old) ones. The results indicated that the influence of bilingualism was only significantly different in the restriction test. Bilingual children tended to suspend the use of the mutual exclusivity constraint more often than monolingual ones did. Besides, our results indicated that children''s sensitivities to different languages were influenced by bilingualism. In the disambiguation test and the restriction test, children of the bilingual group were more sensitive to different language inputs than monolingual children were. However, our results supported that neither children''s applications of the mutual exclusivity constraint nor their sensitivity to different language inputs were influenced by their developmental pattern, except that in the disambiguation test, only younger children of the monolingual group were sensitive to different language inputs, while older ones were not. Taken together, the findings of the present study suggested that young bilinguals in Taiwan are sensitive to the type of language they are spoken to and would invoke different learning strategies accordingly.

On the influences of Su Dong Po’s words and calligraphy Abstract For thousands of years, there have been very few people who not only skilled at poetry, words, calligraphy and painting but also succeeded in them with a high reputation. Su Dong Po is perhaps one of the most renowned scholars who have been highly admired. “The Three Sus” of North Sung, for example, can compete with “The Three Tsaos” at the end period of Dong Han. The three Sus’ fabulous articles are deeply in people’s mind, especially his poetry, words and calligraphy which were known with noble character and moral. With the corruption of society and moral nowadays, people commonly feel the spiritual emptiness with no place to rely on. Su Dong Po’s words and calligraphy are just like a clear stream, which can not only straightly and deeply fill and comfort the lost spirit in people’s heart.but also provide people with a reference through his magnificent sentiment and clear expansive attitude toward life. This essay investigated in-depth this information through the analysis of documents, the arrangement of information, and the validation and analysis of references. It was organized systematically in order to let people read this essay with complete understanding. In Sung Dynasty, the style of upholding rules and forms of calligraphy in Tang Dynasty was replaced by the style of upholding interest of calligraphy. It has two significant influences. First, express your conception and sentiment on the paper through the brush. It was because calligraphy emphasized on real affection and natural interest in Sung Dynasty. At that time, the values of personality and grace were more important. Calligraphers transformed their personality to calligraphy form. Secondly, calligraphy had changed to value on literal style ever since. It made a breakthrough with anti-imitation and the spirit of renovation. It was the spirit of what calligraphy pursued at that era. Su Dong Po has an enormous influence on the development of calligraphy in Sung Dynasty. He achieved a marvelous feat. Since then, it has led calligraphy to a much wider and freer road. Calligraphers can follow their hearts and artistic conceptions to creat the works randomly. Like Su Dong Po’s words, his calligraphy has the same leading function at that time. With his prominent talent, the words he wrote and the rules and forms he used were often not out of regularity, but he could express his words and artistic conceptions perfectly. Dong Po’s words and calligraphy have left us the revelation. Regardless of art or literature, we should not always stick to the established practice, we need to be able to make a breakthrough and be creative to make art and literature more energetic and pass them down. Although people are in the explosive information era, word-of-mouth is still playing key role in the consumer decision process. Mentioning about word-of-mouth, opinion leaders were the research focus of information distribution in the past, because of its accessibility. But what nowadays consumers most need and don’t need is information. That’s why interpersonal sources influence people a lot. This research conducted three dyadic focus groups and interviews to collect data, especially on college and university students. The results indicated that opinion leaders still exist, but have some change in the meaning. In word-of-mouth, opinion leaders became “information exchange center” instead of information process center. If we look deep into their social network, we found that who could be opinion leader depended on the number of social network he had. In order to portray our findings, the researcher proposed a “news food chain” concept. The concept explained young groups’ data flowing, and put emphasis on the following message: “Information givers aren’t necessary users.” Everyone in the network could possible be asked about product opinions before being a user, or prospects ask others to want more information and activate the conversation. The social meaning and utility of information can help us get more about exchange and referral behavior. For example, people represent their closeness and friendliness by sharing relevant information. Besides that, when people share or recommend product information, they will give two or three references to seeker in order not to have responsibilities. In other words, the competitors are also in their consideration set, not only single choice. Enterprises may observe and cultivate their own “ opinion leaders” and design their marketing strategy and advertisements. Once people all talk about your products, it’s hard to be forgotten in this quick-pace market.

This thesis derives from the ever-popular and controversial TV series of the Showtime Channel, pursuing a process of implementation of “Collective Identity.” Through interviews and discussions with 13 respondents: Lai-Tong、A-Man、Yi-Mei、Ciao-Ciao、Shi-Ting、Yu-Huan、Shiao-Mai、Yi-Jyun、Meng-Yu、Zih-Ting、A-Luo、Mi-di and Da-Mao, we have experienced the exploration, debate and dialectic of subjectivity, in search of the new meanings of Taiwanese lesbians’ identities. This thesis is based on qualitative research from the audience’s point of view. The researcher considers that the importance of is to create the discourse space through which the audience “bonds” with others in depth meaningfully. In the collective process, lesbians discover their true faces as well as others’, rendering the possibility of rediscovery and empowerment of their lesbian identity. To the Taiwanese lesbians, it is such a precious experience to have found the collective identity. Although after investing in profound effort in various Gay and Lesbian Movements, Taiwanese lesbians have been gradually moving forward towards an optimistic and positive image, in general, they are still trapped by the self-hatred, gender role system and ethnocentrism, which cause denials and rejections to bisexual women, transgender people, male lesbian, blue class lesbians, typical butch/femme, and androgyny within the LGBT society. Being a “fictional” media text, < The L Word > “truthfully” weaves the life stories and thought process of its audience, contriving collaborative platform of their subjectivity. Furthermore, < The L Word > taps into another level, connecting other individual and collective identities, educating Taiwanese lesbians about the contradiction and narrowness in such self-identity, and brings about the true meaning of liberalism.

The research aims to explore the gap based on Polya heuristic problem solving strategies for mathematics word problem between the level of recognition and practical teaching situations. The questionnaire、mathematics word problem instruction questionnaires、has been developed for exploring 641 primary school teachers within 12 areas in Taiwan (response rate is 87 %). The result clearly shows: (1) the 『level of recognition』 on Polya heuristic problem solving strategies is higher than the 『practical teaching situations』、(2) the 『looking back stage』 presents the biggest gap、and (3) the demographic variables (such as gender、the length of teaching years) plays a critical role on the problem solving process. Hence、it is proposed that the results can be implied in three ways. Firstly by individual teachers to reflect on their teaching process、secondly、by school authorities to formulate strategies for supporting teaching quality and thirdly by educational authorities to improve policies of mathematical education. Consumer can seek even more messages via Internet, online chat forum and BBS today. Findings from word of mouth research have shown that a primary determinant of the influence of the word of mouth is source credibility, and its dimensions contain expertise, trustworthiness and attractiveness. Although the relationship between source credibility and message’s trust had been proposed on traditional (i.e., off-line) world, the relationship become confuse on the Internet world. Furthermore, the type of forum, positive or negative forum and the consensus of message are also possible influential factors to the message’s trust of the Internet user. This paper examines the relationship between source credibility and message’s trust on Internet forum and BBS. We also investigate whether the type of forum, positive or negative forum and the consensus of message can affect the message’s trust or not, and their moderate influence. The research chooses whitening skin products as experimental subject and to exam our reaearch assumption by experimentation. Finding suggests that high source credibility, general forum, positive forum and high consensus of message would cause high message’s trust. The consensus of message would also affect the relationship between source credibility and message’s trust. As results, it is helpful to understand the influence effect of online word of mouth and to improve strategic making ability in industrial circles.

Consumer receives word-of-mouth messages delivered by communicator, however the source of word of mouth and process of delivery are affected by numerous factors which resulted in varied reactions of receiver. Thus this research reviewed related literature domestically and overseas in order to discuss how word-of-mouth communicator''s characteristics (Expertise and similarity) and gender affect consumer''s behavior after receiving the messages in addition shopping goal as a mediator. The concept model of this research conformed two previous studies: 1. Donnavieve Smith, Satya Menon, and K. Sivakumar (2005) have demonstrated expertise and similarity of communicator as manipulation variables to observe their relationships with perceived influence of consumers respectively. Consequently, an utilitarian shopping goal was added to mediate the relationship between expertise and perceived influence in this research. 2. DeAnna S. Kempf, and Kay M. Palan (2006) have established that different gender of communicators would create different influence to receivers. Thus, the study has add receivers’ gender as a mediator between the relationship previously mentioned. In the end, an analysis was conducted to see if perceived influence has relationship with shopping intention. This research has proposed 6 hypotheses. An experimental design was implemented by using videos of recommenders on a web-site. Subjects were separated into 4 groups: 2 (expert or not) x 2 (similar or not) x 1 (utilitarian shopping goal). Finally, 4 hypotheses are supported, “Expertise” and “Similarity” have positive effects on “Perceived influence”, and “Perceived influence” has positive effect on “Shopping intention.” The hypotheses about “Gender” are not supported.

The purpose of this study was to realize foreign spouse children’s ability of English word recognition and effects of remedial instruction for whom were underachievers on English word recognition. Besides, by way of literature induction and test administration, we also acquainted with their error patterns and some strategies we could use to be the reference of remedial instruction. The study was adopted nonequivalent control–group design in quasi-experimental design. First, 27 participants, Tao-yuan Jong Jen Elementary School fifth grades students, took a pretest to sieve out 18 word recognition underachieved students. There were both nine students in the control and experimental group to have a twelve-week remedial studying. English Word Recognition Test was the main tool used in this study. Additionally, some questionnaires edited by researcher were also adopted to be the analytic evidence. All participants took a pretest and a posttest. Finally, t-test and ANOVA were used to analyze the data. The results indicated as follows: 1. The fifth-grade foreign spouse children’s ability of English word recognition is significantly inferior to normal children in the fifth grade. 2. The main reason to effect the fifth-grade foreign spouse children on ability of English word recognition is the number of years for studying English. 3. Among the foreign spouse children’s error patterns of English word recognition, the proportion is near to the normal children. However, they cause more unknown phoneme and semantic errors. 4. As a whole, English word recognition strategies are helpful to advance the foreign spouse children’s ability of English word recognition. In theses strategies, such as image mnemonics, repetition, using multi-media, look-and-say, key words, roots, and phonics are much better than other ones. 5. According to the test, there are significance on the experimental group between the pretest and posttest. Nevertheless, there are no significance on the control group. Besides, there are no significant difference between the control and experimental group. According to the research results above, suggestions were provided for teachers and follow-up researcher in the administrative support, teaching process, test and further research.

Abstract The developed information technology today makes people easier to share information with others. People not only talk face to face, but also communicate through weblog and instant messaging. Consumers usually share their own experiences with friends and family during the conversation, the process of sharing experiences is called "Word-Of-Mouth". Many literatures had studied the antecedents that affect the formation and transmission of word-of-mouth, but they didn’t discuss whether consumers believe these messages or not. This research will be different from the other antecedents of word-of-mouth. We use tie strength between consumers and senders as the moderating variables in discussing the impact of sender’s expertise and the number of message on the consumer’s acceptance of word-of-mouth. Meanwhile, we discuss whether if a consumer’s acceptance of word-of-mouth will affect perceived risk, perceived value and perceived quality, and further to discuss if it will affect consumer's purchase intention or not. The research results are: (1) Both sender’s expertise and the number of message can enhance a consumer’s acceptance of word-of-mouth. (2) Tie strength can interfere with expertise of sender and cues with word-of-mouth acceptance of consumer. (3) The influence to word-of-mouth acceptance of consumer with perceived of consumer. (4) The influence to word-of-mouth acceptance of consumer and perceived value of consumer with purchase intention. The research put forward the suggestion of practical by the conclusions list below: (1) Having good relations with experts; (2) By using the slogan, consumers can be a good sender for the cooperate; (3) Make the best use of tie strength.

From years of on-site teaching observation, researchers have found that many of the seventh grade students, just entering junior high school, who have just come into contact with this "unknown variable" new field - "Linear Equations in One Variable", are forced to give up, due to the awkward situation - although with basic calculation skill but not able to understand the meaning of the question in order to solve it. Based on this circumstance, teaching activities aiming at student’s “Mathematical Reading Problems” are used to improve student’s understanding of Mathematical Word Problems and then to help increasing mathematical problem solving ability. This research combines both quantitative and qualitative. In “quantitative” area, the Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Designs of Quasi-Experimental Design is used. Convenience Sampling Method is used to select research samples. Researcher’s teaching class applying “Mathematical Reading activities” is the experimental group. Another same grade class applying traditional teaching method is the control group. In the study of student’s achievement of Mathematical Word Problems on “Linear Equations in One Variable”, compare two different teaching methods through data analysis of test scores before and after the teaching achievement. In “qualitative” area, random sampling of two students from each of high, medium and low grade group (total of six students) in the experimental group. Discuss samples’ learning process of “Mathematical Reading activities” through information such as handout, feedback and after-class interview…etc. According to the research results, the student''s achievement of the experimental group is better than the control group. Among the experimental group, medium and low grade samples show significantly improvement of the student''s achievement. Most students in experimental group believe the achievement is improved during the entire learning progress and “Mathematical Reading activities” is better than “traditional teaching method” with numbers of advantages. In conclusion, researcher made numbers of recommendations for teaching, and specific recommendations as references for other researchers in topics, frames, methods, objects, tools and other aspects of research variables for future topics.

The purpose of this study is to 20 single steps of the preparation of a country second graders subtraction word ITEMS quiz, students answer on questions of reaction and problem-solving performance, and part to the Partial Credit S-P Chart Analysis, diagnostic questions and analyze students' learning conditions and types of learning, and then explore the circumstances of their understanding of the concept. This study to Yunlin County Elementary School sophomore as the research object, the results are as follows: 1.Students' mathematical problem solving Students in mathematical problem solving of the four major types of addition and subtraction word problems in descending order: combine, compare, change and equalize. The study can be found in children is highest in the combine types of problem-solving accuracy rate (86.41%). The lowest correct rate (67.25%) and equalize types of problem solving. 2.Partial Credit S-P Chart Analysis Results and Discussion The coefficient of variation of the test results of this study, five classes D* the range between 0 and 1, so the teachers teach and learners reaction with close. Display through the SP table of five classes and the students' attention factor, the three classes of students in the area of A ratio of 61.9%, the best performing class students not only in the class of higher degree and can carefully learn from the information found the number of students of the five classes and low degree of share of the proportion of the total number of classes are low, and four classes of students compared to other classes and low degree of the number of students more and more. Broadly speaking, the generally five classes learning situation into a normal distribution, the heterogeneous composition of the learning situation not much good learning steady state. 3.Students' analysis of the types of errors The study display that students' problem-solving type of error the following: (1)Lack of proper language and semantic knowledge. With the increasing global competition and innovation, companies must find a way to stay competitive. How to make customers share their ideas and knowledge willingly is a problem and a challenge to many companies. Social media offers many opportunity for customers to co-creation, but the experience of individual co-creation is kind of less in the past. Individual co-creation experience is another less explored part of the past. Therefore, this study use S-O-R theory to understand how the environmental stimuli cause co-creation experience on customers, and in turn their further intention and word of mouth. This study use online questionnaires, the questionnaires included three dimensions, the first is environmental stimuli, the second is co-creation experience and the third is behavioral intentions. By using online website to distribute questionnaires, respondents who did not have co-creation experience were excluded. A total number of 316 questionnaires were issued, with 264 valid questionnaires. The effective response rate was 83%. The sample demographics is analyzed using SPSS statistical software. And SmartPLS is adopted as a structural model of statistical analysis tools. The results show that co-creation experience of usability, sociability and hedonic significantly influence future intentions. Co-creation experience of pragmatic, sociability and enjoyment significantly influence word of mouth. In the environmental stimuli company support on co-creation, brand personality and perceived usefulness significantly influence four of customer co-creation experience. Sense of community and control only influence part of the co-creation experience. Based on these evidences, this study suggests that to make customer participate in co-creation, company can increase stimulation on the company, users and human-computer interaction. Moreover, it can also let customer acquire more experience. In the result of customer experience, companies can increase the co-creation experience of creative activities, further affecting the further intentions and word-of-mouth.

With the advances of the Internet and web technology in recent years, consumers have been able to search information through a new channel -- Internet forum. Current research literatures about word-of-mouth (WOM) mostly focus on the effect of interpersonal influence; however, studies on Internet’s WOM message and in particular its effects on on-line shopping mall are limited. As a result, this research studies how consumers’ perception toward a on-line shopping mall is influenced by WOM message and changed by the shopping mall’s response strategies. In this research, experiments based on a 2×2×2×2×2 design were conducted to manipulate three independent variables: message number (many vs. few), message structure (positive first then negative vs. negative first then positive), and the shopping mall’s response strategies (plain vs. context-relevant). Consumers’ online shopping experience and involvement served as the moderator variables. Based on the survey results conducted on the web, several conclusions are drawn below: 1. On the Internet forum, the larger the message number is, the greater persuasion effects are. But the message number has little effect on high-involvement shoppers. 2. There are significantly positive effects when the messages are structured as positive first then negative. But the message structure has little effect on experienced shoppers. 3. The persuasion effects of positive first then negative messages will be significant only if the number of messages on the Internet forum is large. On the other hand, such persuasion effects won’t be significant if there are limited messages. 4. The message number has a more significant influence on the low-involvement shoppers’ perception than the message structure does. But high-involvement shoppers’ perception is not influenced by both message number and message structure. 5. Positive effects of changing consumers’ perception can be obtained if an on-line shopping mall adopts a response strategy to the customers’ WOM messages. Such effect is more significant if a context-relevant strategy is adopted on non-experienced shoppers or high-involvement shoppers. 6. To experienced and high-involvement shoppers, the effects of changing consumers’ perception is indifferent between two response strategies. A context-relevant strategy increases the purchase desire of non-experienced and low-involvement shoppers.

To use information technology to improve learning processes is an important issue for the educator. Since the network technology as well as web-based system get more and more flourishing, it will be a good trial for the educator to provide an asynchronous learning platform on the Internet. It’s worth to investigate that whether the web-base teaching is better than the conventional teaching. In this paper, we have first constructed a web-based education system on teaching Microsoft Word 2000. Then we have conducted an experiment to compare the student’s learning performance between the web-based teaching and the conventional teaching. Two major findings were established in this study. First, there was no significant difference on learning performance between them. Secondly, the student’s learning confidence in the web-based group was significantly higher than the confidence of the counterpart. Besides, we have divided the subjects into four groups with different learning styles, following Kolb’s theory, to compare the differences of the student’s learning performance among these groups and no significant difference was resulted. At the end of the experiment, web-based group was requested to make out questionnaires about their satisfaction of the class. According the questionnaires, great majority of students were satisfied with this teaching method.

The Effect of Problem Posing on Fifth Graders'''' Understanding of Semantic Structure in Arithmetic Word Problem and on Their Problem Solving Capability Thesis for Master Degree in Mathematics Education Chen-Hua Lee National Taipei Teachers College,2002 Abstract This research was meant to discuss the problem posing process─its influence over the student’s understanding on the semantic structure of the arithmetic word problems, its effect over the student’s capability to solve those problems, and its various associated issues. With two classes selected as subjects, the author conducted the actual problem posing and the regular teaching programs over a six-week period, prior and after which the subjects were tested by "Classification of Semantic Structure in Arithmetic Word Problem Test " and " Arithmetic Word Problem Solving Test". The author also collected data by taking video recording, conducting interviews, keeping teaching journals, audio recording small group discussions, and examining students'''' works. The research results indicated that the problem posing did improve students'''' understanding on the semantics of the arithmetic word problems, but it did not generate tangible difference between the two groups of subjects under study, in terms of the student’s capability to solve those arithmetic word problems. This result was in accordance with many associated literatures which suggested that, although the problem posing may improve the student’s understanding on the semantics structure of the arithmetic problems, the capability to resolve those problems might involve factors other than the grip of semantics structure. This research proposed a model to integrate the theories on the problem posing process and explains the research results. Based on the data analysis of the interviews, the students indicate that "Imitation Method" was the easiest one to conduct the problem posing, "Formula Method" was the easier one, and "Condition Method" was the difficult one. In addition, the students also came out with different problem posing strategies to handle three different teaching programs. Moreover, this research compared the problem posing by a small group and that by each individual person; the former was found to be superior in terms of either the functionality or the subjective perception by the students. This study is aimed to investigate consumer and potential consumers’ purchase intention to ward TTL Corp.’s Festival Gift Box, whether is correlated with arketing mix, brand image, word-of-mouth, and demographic and experience variables. 286 responds were received. Data were analyzed with regression and hierarchical regression analysis. The results revealed the significance of correlation with `Product',`Price'and`Promotion' of marketing mix, however not with `Place & Distribution'. The results found an indirect mediated effect of `Promotion' on purchase intention through brand image; howere, direct and indirect mediated effect of `Product' and `Price'. No mediated effect was found with `Place & Distribution'. Analysis showed word-of-mouth functions as a positive moderator of marketing mix and brand image on purchase intention.

The diploma thesis describes Polish and Czech nonsense in children's literature. The main goal is to define nonsense literature, its development from a historical and formative point of view, considering contemporary events. The first part of the thesis focuses on the theoretical definition of the term nonsense and its historical aspect, especially on the two key representatives of English nonsense Edward Lear and Lewis Carroll. The next part deals with the development of Polish nonsense in children's literature. Two main authors, Julian Tuwim and Jan Brzechwa, who are considered as the creators of the new poetic school, took part in the formation of nonsense in Poland. Absurd humour and the world of children readers became the main inspirations for their work. This poetics was followed by other representatives of the Polish nonsense, including Ludwik Jerzy Kern, Wanda Chotomska and others. The work also focuses on the development of Czech nonsense for children, its main personalities and major works, which are based on nonsense, absurdity and word play. The diploma describes nonsense work for children of Josef Kainar, Jiří Kolář, Miloš Macourek, Pavel Šrut and other writers of literature. The rise of new social media channels during the last few years has offered fertile ground to provide a more convenient, immediate services, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and so on. So that many companies use the social media to interact with consumers, build brand image and word-of-month, and then encourage consumer’s purchase behavior, to promote the social commerce. In order to understand how the social commerce encourages consumers to buy companies products through social media, this study integrates the key factors that past scholars have put forward on social commerce, and uses stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) as a research framework for exploring online word-of-month, internet interaction, trust, information adoption model, purchase intention. Research data were collected from Facebook fan page users who have shopping experience in social commerce via online questionnaire and paper questionnaires. We conduct data analysis with partial least squares using SPSS 21.1 and SmartPLS 3.0 statistical software. Research results show that online word-of-month has a significant impact on information usefulness, information adoption and trust; internet interaction has a significant impact on information adoption; information adoption and trust have a significant impact on purchase intention. Similarly, information adoption and trust have a significant impact on word-of-month communication.

Since the popularization of the internet, people''s access to information has been significantly changed, especially today''s junior high school students, as digital natives; their degree of involvement in reading and the effect of their willingness on various variables which is significantly different from in the past. Therefore the purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of online word of mouth on reading and purchase intention of junior high school students. In this research project, a questionnaire survey was used to fathom these junior high school students and with the scale appraisal, proposed by scholars to measure online word of mouth on reading intention, purchase intention and to explore if the different degree of involvement will interfere in online word of mouth on both aspects. The results showed: 1. online word of mouth has a significant effect on readers'' reading intention, 2. online word of mouth has a significant effect on purchase intention, 3. the degree of involvement does not interfere with online word of mouth effect on readers'' reading intention, 4. the degree of involvement has a positive impact on online word of mouth effect on readers'' purchase intention. The results of this research can provide school teachers and parents the choice of reading and reference books while promoters can also do some adjustments.

Alena Sigmundová ABSTRACT The dissertation describes the results of an interdisciplinary research study examining the linguistic aspects of word problems in mathematics and the connection between comprehension of the text of word problems and the success of their solution. In the introduction the research is set into the framework of theoretical bases: the term word problem in mathematics and the concept of reading comprehension, including factors influencing the understanding of the text are characterized and the results of previous research studies are described. Subsequently the work presents a methodology, course and results of testing of pupils in three pilot studies and in the main survey and the conclusions from the semi-structured interviews. The format of these talk shows assigns these debates the confrontational nature, which leads their participants excluding the presenters to the argumentation duels. The subject of the research is a detailed analysis of the argumentation used by guests of the selected debates of the respective talk shows, including finding an answer to the question of what role the presenters play in it. The analysis put a particular emphasis on eristic dialectics, the concept created by Arthur Schopenhauer, which is understood to be a science of human intransigence. The concepts of Rhetological Fallacies of Jiří Kraus or David McCandless are taken into consideration in the second place as well. Linguistic and suprasegmental means as well as nonverbal level of the communication are being examined too. The aim of this analysis is, on the one hand, to describe the axiology and the associated efficiency of argumentation of the main guests at selected debates of Otázky Václava Moravce and Máte slovo s M. Jílkovou and on the other hand, to verify the usability of eristic dialectics to deconstruct myths, manipulations and distortions of facts in these debates....
