Abstract:
The main purpose of this article is to introduce the concepts of almost lacunary statistical convergence and strongly almost lacunary convergence of order (β,γ) of sequences of fuzzy numbers with respect to an Orlicz function. We give some relations between strongly almost lacunary convergence and almost lacunary statistical convergence of order (β,γ) of sequences of fuzzy numbers, where β and γ are two fixed real numbers such that 0 β≤γ≤1.

In this paper we define f − αβ-statistical convergence of order γ in probability and f − αβ-strong p-Ces`aro summability of order γ in probability for a sequence of random variables under unbounded modulus function and examine the relation between these two concepts. We show by an example that this notion of f − αβ-statistical convergence of order γ in probability is stronger than αβ-statistical convergence of order γ in probability.

The better understanding of the behavior of emulsions and suspensions is important in many applications. In general, emulsions allow the delivery of insoluble agents to be uniformly distributed in a more efficient way. At the same time suspensions of rigid particles are used as “smart materials as their properties can be changed by the interaction with a magnetic or electric field. In the first part of the talk we consider a periodic emulsion formed by two Newtonian fluids in which one fluid is dispersed under the form of droplets of arbitrary shape, in the presence of surface tension. In this thesis, cohesive fracture is investigated under three different perspectives. First we study the asymptotic behaviour of a variational model for damaged elasto-plastic materials in the case of antiplane shear. The energy functionals we consider depend on a small parameter, which forces damage concentration on regions of codimension one. We determine the Gamma-limit as the small parameter tends to zero and show that it contains an energy term involving the crack opening. The second problem we consider is the lower semicontinuity of some free discontinuity functionals with linear gro

In this work we study peridynamics, a non-local model in continuum me- chanics introduced by Silling (2000). The non-locality is reflected in the fact that points at finite distance exert a force upon each other. If, however, these points are more distant than a characteristic length called horizon, it is customary to assume that they do not interact. We compare peridynamics with elasticity, especially in the limit of small horizon. We restrict ourselves, concerning this vanishing non-locality, to variational formulation of time- independent processes. We compute a Γ-limit for homogeneous and

In this thesis we study the asymptotic behavior of bi-Lipschitz diffeomorphic weighted Riemannian manifolds with techniques from the theory of homogenization. To do so we re-interpret the problem as different induced metrics on one reference manifold. Our analysis is twofold. On the one hand we consider second-order uniformly elliptic operators on weighted Riemannian manifolds. They naturally emerge when studying spectral properties of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on families of manifolds with rapidly oscillating metrics. We appeal to the notion of H-convergence introduced by Murat and Tartar
