В настоящей статье исследуются особенности способов образования дифтонгов в структуре односложных глаголов современного чеченского языка. На современном этапе в структуре односложных глаголов в чеченском языке выступают следующие дифтонги ие, иē, уо, уō, уōь, ай, оw. В работе отмечается, что выделенные дифтонги в односложных глаголах чеченского языка и его диалектов исторически вторичного происхождения. Статья посвящена реализации двухчастных гласных комплексов со спорным фонологическим статусом (дифтонги либо бифонемные сочетания) [ai] и [au] в языке пушту. На материале спонтанной речи и изолированных слов в произнесении шести мужчин – носителей гильзайского диалекта – определены эталонные формантные значения ядра и глайда, а также естественные модификации этих псевдодифтонгов в потоке речи. The phonetic relations of Severek, Tigranakert and Edesia are considered in the article. The selection of the above-mentioned dialect units is due to the fact that all three dialect units are located in northern Mesopotamia in the neighborhood.
