Abstract:
As a product of the western feminist movement, feminist films have become an important tool for displaying feminist connotations and reflecting femalec onsciousness. With the advancement of society and the awakening of female consciousness, feminist film theory, criticism and practice have gradually taken a place in the film system dominated by male discourse power, and have constantly tried to speak for women on the big screen. After China's reform and opening up, feminism took root in China. In the 1980s, under the influence of western feminist film theory and practice, Chinese female filmmakers also began to try to express the situation and demands of Chinese women through films. After more than 40 years of drastic changes in reform and opening up, major changes have taken place in alllevels of current Chinese society. Chinese feminism and feminist films have also changed in accordance with the trend of the times. When the next generation of feminist filmmakers stand on the shoulders of their predecessors, they incorporate the spirit of the new era for the expression of feminism. This article selects two representative Chinese feminist films, which are "Woman Demon Human" and "Send Me to the Clouds". Through the comparison and analysis of the thematic contents, narrative styles and lens languages of the two films, the differences between the two are revealed in three aspects of feminist connotation,which include the subjective consciousness, female desires and gender differences.
作为西方女性主义运动的产物,女性主义电影成为了展现女性主义内涵和反映女性意识的重要工具。随着社会的进步和女性意识的觉醒,女性主义电影理论、批评与实践在以男性话语权为主导电影体系中渐渐占据了一席之地,并不断尝试在大荧幕上为女性发声。中国改革开放后,西方女性主义思潮进一步影响中国。八十年代中国的女性电影人在西方女性主义电影理论与实践的影响下,也开始尝试通过电影来表达中国女性的处境和诉求。在经历改革开放四十多年的剧变后,当下的中国社会各个层面都发生重大变革。中国的女性主义以及女性主义电影也顺应时代的潮流而改变。下一代的女性主义电影人站在前辈们的肩膀上,为女性主义的表达融入了新时代的精神。 本文从上世纪八十年代和近十年的中国影坛选取两部具有代表性的女性主义电影——《人鬼情》和《送我上青云》,并通过对两部电影在主题内容、叙事方式和镜头语言上的分析,发现两部电影在呈现女性意识的三个不同方面——主体性意识、女性欲望和性别差异上的表达呈现出不同的侧重点。由此,从而以小见大,从局部来窥见两个时代的女性主义电影所反映的女性主义的时代性内涵。

Wang Ying, a well-talented female writer, was born in Hui state (Anhui, China today) in Qing Dynasty. She was supported by his father to study Chinese classics, Four Books and Five Classics. Her famous works are Ya An Shu Wu Wen Ji (The Collection of Yaan Study Room) and Ya An Shu Wu Wen She Ji (The Poems of Yaan Study Room), four volumes in total. All of her works were collected and published by her son, Chen Bao. In Qing Dynasty, she was well known as a “female Confucian scholar”. In this thesis, I had chosen her works as main study materials, through the perspective of her life, to explain how Wang Ying understood Confucian thinking and how she practiced these concepts, especially her understandings to female virtues and virtues of being a mother. Firstly, I make a wholescale description on her life. Secondly, I put my emphasis on her practices of female virtues and being a mother. Moreover, by interpreting her relations between her family in Hui State and her husband’s family, her social cares and worries to nation can be further analyzed. Finally, I summarize her cultural characteristic by the study of her life. Through my thesis, I expect to take Wang Ying’s lens to understand the women characteristic and life style at that time.

In the late Qing Dynasty, faced with internal and external problems, China's social environment was challenged as never before, and intellectuals promoted reforms in order to effectively improve the situation in China at that time. They think one of the important factors that defeated and weakened of China is the situation of Chinese women. The women's issue became one of the goals of the prophets of all parties to advocate reform. In addition, there are also a few female intellectuals who propose improved policies and appeals for Chinese women. They advocate themselves as women, perhaps more appropriate and appropriate to achieve the effects and objectives of the reform. This article mainly uses the 1907“Zhong Guo Nu Bao”, “Zhong Guo Xin Nu Jie Za Zhi” and “Tian Yi” as the discussion texts. The three women's newspapers and periodicals have their representativeness, so they are discussed together. Through the records of the newspapers and periodicals, this article carefully reads the contents, and combs the women's issues advocated by the intellectuals at that time, trying to trace back to the great environment facing China at that time, Closer to understand the life of Chinese women, women's experiences and women's concepts.

ABSTRACT Ding Ling is a offspring after the May 4th Movement, and at the same time is a good woman wirter in the proletariat class in 1930s. In her 60-year writing, there is a certain importance in Chinese Literature. Ding at first presents a novel called“Sha-Fei Lady's Diary”, to surprise the literature field. she boldly describes the women in the new ages who present sexual desire. Furthermore, in the turn of time, from a gril of Sha-Fei, she tries to break the morale rules and pursues her own life. also she is fanticied Also she is fanticied with the life of love. However, she steps into the Liftiest in 1930. She turns her life morale into revolution. Therefore, there is a big gap between revolution and her love. in the end, in order to make forturne to the public, she gives up her lovely love. Jumping out from the rule of revolition, Ding Ling uses her unique experience to present her own leading actress. Following with the time and change, in the love of her party and then disappointment, she creates lot she creates lots of self-sacrificed women who fight for the country against the Japanese, who fight for the change of land reformation, and who greadually bring hope to the country. In her writing, women from the women rights in Utopian thinking to the advocates of the Communism are related to Ding's experience in her time, and meanwhile, to influence her writing about women changes. This is all from Ding's creative observation to see the issues about women and society. In the world of patriarchy, she voices for women to promote their struggles in the society and families. from the attention of women lives rights, she tries her best to present women's self-consciousness and the interaction between the period and women. This thesis is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter provides an introduction to the motivation, purpose, methods, scope, and reference source of this study. In the second The thesis includes seven chapters. The first chapter provides an introduction to the motivations, purposes, methods, scope, and literature review of this study. The second chapter is Ding Ling’s background and her works. This chapter will survey her background and the inspirations of works. The third chapter discusses the first stage of female image and assets women. Ding Ling differentiates varieties of female images. She thinks that women possess different personality ideas. The ideas include rebellion, Capital embodied, indulging, self-supporting economy and female friendships. I will discuss these images and what will make some difficult position in the new generation. Next chapter is the second and third female image:It has different division between traditional woman and advanced woman. Ding Ling thinks that woman has differentiated varieties of female images. The images is Mature consciousness , Submissive , Over time changed or Discard the private from the public, Give them a bright future. The fifth chapter is that patriarchal society, social cycle, oppressive and reactionary. The sixth chapter "female image of artistic skills", discussion on the female images in Ding Ling's is how it has been portrayed and shaping, as well as her usual artistic skills, enrich her female characters. The seventh is "last LUN", due this research agenda to explore the transition changes in Ding Ling's novels, significance in female novels in depth, and patriarchal women under the common fate, caring female life force review of Ding Ling's novels.

Mid-life transition means a series of psychological and physical changes occurring during one’s middle age. How women make sense of it and how it intertwines with women''s personal experiences, life occurrences and surroundings are the main interests of this research. After searching through the life stories of Ms. Chou and Ms. Kao, with regard to the mid-life subject, it''s found that life occurrences, rather than merely physical changes, drive their life stages to transit. 2 interviewees both see mid-life transition as one of the many events among life occurrences instead of a crisis or a turning point. It''s also unfolded that, with regard to the construct of self, discussion on social and cultural contexts is evidently important. The self - "independent" or "interdependent" - actually intertwines with surroundings, relatedness and life themes. Secondly, it''s also revealed that the integrated self at mid-life stage can be one integrated self, or an integrated acknowledgment of the fact that, one''s self can involve many dimensions and the dimensions can still be growing. In addition to the life stories of Ms. Chou and Ms. Kao, this research also documents the introspection of a young researcher. This is also a truthful documentation of the construction and de-construction of a research framework.

The purpose of this thesis is to explore lesbian desire and mother-daughter relationship for both Chinese lesbian films: “Saving Face” and “Butterfly”. This research adopts lesbian feminism and mother-daughter related theories as research methods, and is followed with exploration of interactions and transformation towards lesbian desire and identity, in addition to lesbian-mother relationship. Moreover, it confronts the hard facts as how to expose the vitality of reconstructing mother-daughter friendship. The lesbianism in the films subverts the polarized assertions in the past: Either a Lesbian is “without lust” or has “powerful and strong sexuality”. Instead, this thesis displays real lesbian pleasures in addition to diversified bodily desires. And the lesbian T character is viewed as a display of styles which further might make loose the rigid and binary sexual confrontations and bring out the possibility of opening up the act of sexual border-crossing. This thesis also explicates that in the patriarchal and heterosexual society, lesbians under the calling of desires would react from self-suppression, struggling and finally to awakening. She honestly faces herself in the aspect of desire, shaking off the preexisted shackles of sexual norms and achieves the goal of lesbian identity. Lastly, this thesis would compare lesbian images depicted in these two films with those of other movies of the past, and summarizes positive lesbian images so as to break up the prejudice and smearing imposed on lesbians based on the heterosexual ideology in the past. Conversely, the positive lesbian images and their implied meanings of are fairly demonstrated as result. In the two films, the explorations are ranged from the patriarchal suppression to liberation, desexualization to taking the sexual initiative, motherhood not out of obligation, a try to walk out of patriarchal domination, bright image courageous to be a mother, and final returning to become the subject of mother. Mainstay of this thesis falls on both the mother and the daughter, who chose mutual understandings instead of staying antagonistic, and finally, reconstructs the female friendship of the most cherished form: Mother and daughter. Mother, bearing once the cross of traditional motherhood, conducted oppression towards the daughter of lesbian, nevertheless, when becomes a lesbian-mother would carry out both her sexuality and motherhood, it did face the dilemma between lesbian desires and practices of maternity. And only through the salvation like a reconstruction of feminine friendship and mother-daughter relationship could the entanglement between “lesbian” and “motherhood” see the light and chance of liberation.
