This study looked at the value generated to shareholders by the announcement of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) involving Industrial PC (IPC) firms over the period of 1998-2007.First, this study examined the impacts of M&A announcements through study event methodology. Afterwards, the study tested the factors that affected M&A announcements through multiple regression analysis. The result of study event methodology indicated that there is a positive cumulative average abnormal return (CAAR) for M&A announcements. Therefore, this study concluded that when investors are aware of a company’s M&A decision and, as a result, to make investment decisions that conform to their financial benefit. IPC firms expand their operation through the strategies of “private brand” and “expansion of global sales channels”. The M&A announcement indicates that IPC firms would like expand their operation and sales channel. The stimulating effect will reflect on their stock prices. The results of the regression model revealed that the profitability and growth forces were positive to standard cumulative average abnormal return (SCAAR) and the efficiency of merging firms was negative to SCAAR. The evidence showed that investors held optimistic viewpoint to the mergers and acquisitions because they expected that IPC firms would expand their operation and sales channels through M&A and the return of the investment would let the company sustain the high margin and profit. Because of the industry characteristic of IPC and the strategy of M&A increase the inventory turnover days and operating risks. Because of the reasons described above, the profitability and growth forces were positive to SCAAR and the efficiency was negative to SCAAR.

Industrial computer is a niche industry. In the past, because of the certain level entry barrier, it is not a hot industry to be discussed. Now, Taiwan has more than a decade in technology products manufacturing experience, which contributes the industrial computer industry cluster. It is predictable that in 5-10 years, the industry is profitable for the reason that the application of the products and technology is more popular in daily life. Furthermore, the computer technology industry has changed to be R&D and technology innovation oriented from purely manufacturing and OEM, ODM. It comes with the result that there are more and more Taiwan International Procurement Office set up to be the communication contact between customers and manufacturers. However, recently for the effect of the phenomenon of Taiwanese manufacturer moving the factory to low labor cost countries, the advantage is not longer staying. Taiwan industrial computer manufacturers also get a lot of OEM/ODM orders. Many international system companies set up an procurement office in Taiwan for better communication. But the case company is not like the previous. It is a German added value distributor, who imports Taiwan industry computer parts and bare bone to sell locally. The reason for her to set up an international procurement office is to speed up the incoming material. The case company type, business model and procurement office values are different from the normal procurement office. This is why the study would like to understand case company’s and her procurement office international purchasing strategy and competitive advantage, and observe how the company keeps the competitive advantage not t be threaten by manufacturer moving out. From the company background, the study find out industrial computer and Taiwan Procurement Office environment and opportunities, then it moves on analyzing company internationalization and procurement office setting up motivation. After knowing the reasons, the study concludes the international purchasing strategy. Finally, by having diamond model and SWOT analysis, then there is the competitive advantage. The result of the study is that the case company uses National Procurement, Proactive Strategy or Offensive Sourcing Strategy as her International Procurement strategy. The strategy is high involvement on internationalization and it helps to build up or strengthens the competitive advantage. Besides, mother company support is required because International Procurement Strategy has positive and direct connection with operation strategy. The reason for the case company to set up a Taiwan procurement office is in order to strengthen her differentiation strategy. Because Taiwan has better labor condition, near to suppliers and efficient logistic from industrial computer cluster, all make the obvious cost advantages. The suggestions for the case company are listed below: to be a know-how turntable supply chain or to go differentiation by having multi-function value added service to keep the advantage.

Global economics recession, the result of financial crisis of 2007-2010, has significantly declined the market of consumer electric goods. But the industry of notebook (NB), including netbook, is just out of the Tsunami. The annual amount of notebook in 2008 is 112 million, 24% growth, from the investigation of Institute for Information Industry (III). Moreover, Netbook increase in tenfolds. Thanks to the notebook, Taiwan’s information industry is still growth in total. OEM ratio of notebook industry is 90% high, while Taiwan is number one manufacturer in the world. This research study the structure, conduct and performance (S-C-P) of notebook OEM industry and try to give some suggestions to promote the competitiveness of this industry. This research use economist Mason-Bain’s theory Structure-Conduct-Performance(S-C-P) to find out the market concentration degree. Four-firm Concentration Ratio (CR4), Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) will be the indicators of market concentration. SWOT, Marketing mix (the four Ps) and Porter five forces analysis are used to understand industry current situation and developing strategy. From financial report to check the performance of companies. Through these researches to discover the notebook OEM industry in Taiwan. Main search results are (1) The notebook OEM industry is highly market concentrated in Taiwan during 2001 to 2008. (2) This industry in Taiwan is a mature one. All the companies fall in a low price competitive activity. (3) The profit didn’t come with growth of sales amount. Product differentiation should be the good way to increase the economic value added.

Receiving outsourcing project orders from foreign major companies is the primary business of the 3D Animation firms in Taiwan currently. However, since the cost of the infrastructure for animation production has reduced, it is easier for developing countries to enter this industry, where labor cost is lower. Accordingly, Taiwan’s position in the value chain of the animation industry is threatened. Two solutions have been proposed in order to solve this problem. First, animation firms in Taiwan should extend to the high value-added content developing activities. Second, Taiwanese animation firms should improve their capability and retain their competence. This research focuses on how to improve the capability of animation firms in Taiwan, since it is still immature for them to transform into content developers, owing to the lack of experience and limitation of market size. Animation industry in Taiwan is in its infancy: most of the animation firms finish project orders independently. On the contrary, many industries in Taiwan, such as the computer industry, have developed excellent OEM/ODM models. Therefore, this research adopts case study method, taking CGCG Interactive as target, and compares it with the models of TSMC and Quanta Computer to figure out a suitable OEM supplier’s model in 3D animation industry. This research first concludes that there are four dimensions concerning the decision making process on selecting vertical integration or outsourcing strategies. These dimensions are cost, product, technology, and supplier (industry). Then these dimensions are used to analyze the supply model of TSMC and Quanta Computer so as to propose an appropriate supply model CGCG Interactive.

Abstract The 21st century is an era of increasingly intense competition among enterprises. From the external environment, the WTO open trade misses, the transfer of production bases, and the trend in global competition. Supervisors and staff of this study was to study the corporate managers.By interviewed 6 managers, using depth interview and related statistical analysis, specific research findings are as follows : Human resources managers’ leadership style is divided into two types: one is transformational leadership style and the other is transactional leadership style. Transactional leadership style which is divided into active management 、 passive management and contingency awards three dimensions. And transformational leadership styles is divided into charismatic leadership, intellectual stimulus,developing a common vision and personal care four dimensions. The emotion management is devided into emotional expression, emotional commissioning and emotion control. Human resources supervisors leadership style, emotional management skills have a significant impact on leadership effectiveness. Meanwhile leadership effectiveness can have a marked impact on the effectiveness of the team. Leadership style and significant correlation exists between the ability to manage emotions. Abstract This study aimed to explore the national senior high school industrial skill arts students’ competition at the computer repair work kind and the importance of it’s winning factors and corelations, and as a base for reference of the urban and rural digital divide and the improvement of it’s training methods . This study used qualitative research analysis interviews. Participants are computer science major students at Pu Li industrial vocational senior high school joining the competition of computer repair work kind. The winning teachers and students are interviewed using grounded theory as data coding, analysis to explore winning related factors. Based on the research, the study results were as follows: 1.From national industry-related skills competition of senior high school students’ at the computer repair work kind of contest winners literature reviews, we abtain 21 important conclusions . 2.Pu Li industrial vocational senior high school students participated in the national senior high school industrial skill arts students’ at the computer repair work kind, it’s winning correlated factors are player’s basic ability, quality of the training teachers, training methods and other ancillary factor. 3.Pu Li industrial vocational senior high school students participated in the national senior high school industrial skill arts students’ at the computer repair work kind. The winning correlations factors are human traits, training strategies and logistical support. 4.According to research results, specific recommendations will be given to authority of education, high schools administrators, teachers, players and it’s future research.
