Drilling machine is one of the most important devices in the PCB manufacture process; it is around 60% investment in this manufacture process, and most of the advance techniques of drilling machine are under control by Japan and Europe, it will bring advantage and competition to PCB industry if the local manufacturer who joint to drilling machine manufacture, the PCB products of Taiwan are mainly concentrate on the information and consumption products and forward to high level、high frequency、multi-layer and the dimension are trend to light、thin and short, the end products of PCB are highly grow up as like personal computer、display TV、digital camera and mobile phone, and all of these are move PCB to grow up, the following of this situation will bring opportunity and demand to drilling machine. The business cycles of PCB industry fluctuate violently and this create disorder of supply and demand, under such kind of situation result in PCB industry profit going down, the pressure of cost reduction are more and more huge than before and this create more advantage to drilling machine. This document will discuss the demand of high level electrical products and consumption products, and this will help us to understand the orientation and demand about driller, in the mean time we could know the product characteristic factor of driller, and go through Hamel theory to analysis these factors to understand that the competition between groups and game competition and the development strategy of local driller maker.

Abstract By end 2001, with a worldwide market share close to 80%, TSMC(Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp) and UMC (United Manufacturing Corp) have unquestionably become the global wafer foundry leaders. Through defining the game rules and continuously developing most advanced sub-micorn process technologies, the big-2 has cultivated and stimulated the fast growth of IC design industry. Thanks to successful cut-in strategies, Taiwanese IC Design Houses like VIA, Sunplus and MediaTech have been enjoying the sweet results of IPO gains from market capitalization. However, in pursuance for further growth, diversifications seem to be the best way out for Taiwanese IC Design Houses. In order to compete with IDMs, IC design Houses must equip themselves with necessary survival skills. To clearly identify the core competence of Semiconductor Manufacturers (including IC Design Houses), how to reinforce the existing and develop the non-existing competitive edges will be the main focuses of this thesis. Apart from adopting Michael Porter’s theoretical competitive structure to analyze and locate the genuine core competence, special research efforts on Industrial Cluster effects and Intellectual Property (IP) have also been intensively carried out. The research shows that, out of the 12 critical success factors (CSF) for wafer foundry industry, item c, advanced process technology and mass production capability and item i, capability to define and develop process technology roadmap are the most important ones. The big-2 has not only fully taken the advantages and enlarged the leading gap, also dominated the market through “Differentiation” strategy. Three factors are considered most crucial for IC design Houses. Item 4, Establish market alliances with industrial leaders plus marketing/sales capability, item 5, own high market-valued IP rights, item 6, Ability to set industrial or market standards. Non-the-less, Taiwanese IC Design Houses are still lagging behind those US ones in above 3 aspects. The last part of the thesis focus on analyzing core competence of wafer foundries and IC Design Houses so as to come up with most appropriate competitive strategies, especially when confronting IDMs on global stages. Given the above facts, I truly believe the conclusions and suggestions in this thesis will be beneficial for both wafer foundries as well as IC design Houses, especially in making tough business decisions and strategies for the future.

This paper attempted to (1) realize the current development of domestic venture capital business; (2) discuss issues related to the core competence exhibited i the business; (3) review investment risks and strategies for indepth understanding of investment behavior mode to help map out investment strategies; and (4) explore into the correlation between the corecompetence and investment strategies to identify the consequences in conjunction with other contributing factors and properties. As an exploratory case stdy, this paper ventures the fact finding essentially by conducting field interviwes with those local entrepreneurs have achieved excellent performance in venture capital and by referring to related documentation available at home and overseas to describe the correlation among present development of venture capital business, its core competece and investment strategies. Through the theory and case interview, findings of the paper are: (1) The core competence of each venture capital company may differ, thus to from individual niche, and there are in general seven types of core competence. (2) Should the core competence the focused on a specific area, certain investment strategies are formed accordingly. (3) For being subject to the particular environment, the development of venture capital business has been concentrating. In the industry of information electronic, and stack trading in the stock market has become the way to withdraw the funds initially invested while swinging to the vertical integration strategy for increasing profitability. (4) Wide and constructive contacts with the right, if not powerful, persons as well as the provision of add-ons have proved to be the key success factors of venture capital business.

Fastener industry has developed for forty years in Taiwan, and it created significant contribution to so-called "Economic Miracle". This research was operated content analyse method , and we practically visited four firms in South Taiwan to trace the track on development of fastener industry in Taiwan, investigating the industrial features influenced by interaction of growth strategy and core competence. The result of study finds the change of environment will influence the growth strategy and core competence during the manufacturer process of growing up. And now, the fastener industry of Taiwan is moving towards the automobile part industry to develop, growth strategy and core competence have situation reaching unanimity. Finally, this research also forecasts future development of fastener industry, and offers some suggestions to the participant in the industry.

Recently, in conjunction with the ever increasing trend of strong competition in the technology sector and the obvious formation of an increasingly interconnected global market, Taiwan’s metal plate processing industry is not only facing the increased competition inherent in globalization, but is also finding itself in need of quickly adapting to the ever shifting paradigms of the corporate sector. As such, if and how Taiwan’s metal processors are able to utilize their preexisting advantages to adapt to the ever changing external environment and not become obsolete will be the decisive factor in the success or failure of their future development. The primary goal of this research is to consider development trends in Taiwan’s metal plate processing industry in comparison to other industrial sectors. We also provide an analysis of these factors, in order to understand what the various individual companies are doing to face the challenges brought on by the changing corporate environment from which to create a management model that includes multiple topics, such as corporate change, developing core competitiveness, adjusting the implementation of sales strategies, etc. We intend to look into how we may create new completive advantages for each company, maintain stable growth, and discover the critical factors leading to the success of these companies, in order to provide them as reference to others in the same business. The information used in this study was obtained through direct interviews with upper management in the relevant sector, as well as from related documents and secondary data gathering and analysis. From our research into the literature has come three conclusions: First, each of the considered companies has, because of the shock brought on by cheap labor costs in less developed countries, recently had to rapidly change the direction, switching development to areas requiring more advanced, technical expertise, and investing heavily in improving their own manufacturing capabilities in order to increase the efficiency of their employees and decrease the cost of labor and production in order to create advantages for the company. Next, each studied company has had to utilize diverse sales strategies to maintain a long term and stable relationship with customers and clients, increasing client loyalty and satisfaction which in turn brings increased profits. Finally, this research categorizes and identifies the four critical factors that have allowed these companies to succeed, namely adaptability, superior management skills, innovation and creativity, and a dynamic, adaptable sales strategy.

The few children problem has been a serious challenge to Taiwan society. Especially the children day care service market has become a “red ocean” market that the day care center should compete with one another in very serious way. The “blue ocean” strategy that brought up by Kim and Mauborgne is thus very important to the child day care center managers. The ‘blue ocean” strategy comprise with four action: eliminate, reduce, raise, and create. This research argued that the child day care center should eliminate the financial risk of parents’ day care service choosing and the single value that come from foreign nation; reduce the health risk of child care service given by day care center by using the modern 3C technology; raise the quality of child care servants and create interest of parents’ participation. This research argued that the day care center could transform its business model to become a community-based social enterprise that could provide the total solution for young parents’ needs. In addition to that, this research suggest the child day care center managers should promote trust with parents and delete all kinds of managing rules that are based on distrust with parents for executing the “blue ocean” strategy. To let parents feel that they are the co-owner of their children’s day care center are the vital beginning of creating the parents’ values.
