Abstract:
Based on these fragments, this dissertation first makes an attempt to clarify the issues involving the Gu Wen Shang Shu that was discovered in the Kong's wall, as reported in various documents of the Han Dynasty. It then proceeds to discuss the characteristics and the origins of the "archaic scripts" in the Shuo-wen Jie-zi and the Stone Classics in Three Scripts of the Wei Dynasty, as these two texts and the script of Gu Wen Shang Shu are closely related.
Finally, by examining the discrepancies between the quotations of the Shang Shu in the Shuo-wen Jie-zi and the version of Ma Rong and Zheng Xuan, this dissertation constructs the argument that such discrepancies are perhaps the result of the interpretative replacement of characters which was, after all, a common method of teaching employed by gu wen scholars of the Eastern Han.
It further deals with the argument of the "li-shu" transliteration (li gu ding), and through a detailed analysis of the expressions and terms used in the text, it expounds the view that the li-shu transliteration of the Gu Wen Shang Shu was non-existent in the Han Dynasty, let alone a so called li-shu transliterated version.
Seeking to challenge this viewpoint, the author of this dissertation has made a close examination of the Gu Wen Shang Shu and has discovered that it was actually written in "li-shu", rather than in archaic script. Through a survey of relevant philological issues, the arguments are presented in this dissertation.
The controversy surrounding the opposition between the archaic and vernacular scripts (jin gu wen) of the Han Dynasty is one of the most complex issues in Chinese philology. Scholars have yet to come to a consensus on which script the Gu Wen Shang Shu (The Book of History Written in Archaic Script) was written. For a long time, a popular view has been that the difference between "jin wen" (vernacular script: li-shu) and "gu wen" (archaic script) lies in the types of script used, as the so-called Gu Wen Shang Shu is believed to have been written in archaic script.
The issue of script of Gu Wen Shang Shu has been a significant topic in Chinese philology. Moreover, the controversy over the archaic script and the contemporary script of the Han Dynasty is very much about the Shang Shu. An understanding of this issue is crucial in resolving problems confronting other archaic texts.
Though the original text of the Gu Wen Shang Shu is no longer extant, there are a few surviving fragments in the quotations of the Shang Shu in the Shuo-wen Jie-zi, the "archaic scripts" in the Stone Classics in Three Scripts (San-ti Shi-jing), the "li-shu" transliteration (li gu ding) of the Shang Shu and the quotations of the Gu Wen Shang Shu of Ma Bong and Zheng Xuan in the Jin-dian Shi-wen.

In modern days, technology has been changing all the time and many digital expressions and symbols have been proliferated in our lives. However, since Chinese accumulated the profound culture of Chinese characters 5000 years ago, the culture of Chinese characters has been interiorized among folks and enriched our lives. Therefore, we should put more emphasis on the interests of words and the spirit of humanity contained in Chinese characters. In addition to verbal communication, the unique concept of observing objects, abstracting images, and then creating words, and the distinguishing feature of combining words, Chinese characters have the function of expressing the meanings of words when they are formed. Due to this function, the form itself can be regarded as the expression of pure image while it applied to graphic design. Further, integrating creativity in response to the word meaning and the culture and history beyond, the design work can not only convey the creativity of cultural connotation but add some ingenuity. In the literature review in the current study, the author first introduces the origin of words and the relations between images and words, trying to explain the historical development from images to words in human civilization. Then the author analyzes the structure of Chinese characters in the form of words. And the author discusses it in three principal points: first the simplest element “strokes,” then the “contours” of words, and finally the relations between the rule of grouping and traits of Chinese characters’ sole form and combining one-“structure.” To go a step further, the author applies Chinese characters to the field of graphic design: the axis is the formation, sound, meaning, and expression of Chinese characters. The author applies those images of Chinese characters to graphic design for categorization, with the analysis of graphic design case study. As for the artistic creations, the author utilizes the design concepts and the cultural and historical connotations derived from the case study and generalization to poster design. By computer cartography the author presents the artistic creations of Chinese characters combining traditional culture and modernity, and gives practical suggestions and directions for future research.

The Effects of &auot;Digitized Instruction Program Intrigued by Chinese Characters&auot; kanji used in the third grade teaching research: A Case Study of Taiwanese Schools in Jakarta, Indoenisa. An empirical study was conducted with a research sample selected from third year graduate students from Jakara Taiwan School. The research sample was divided into a control group and an experimental group. Chinese language was taught using a traditional method in the control group while an integrated information technology method was used in the experimental group. The information technology method entails a literacy pedagogy medium with orientation, pronunciation, character grounds and writing techniques that teach students the logic based structure of the language. This integrated method intends to help students to understand the composition of Chinese characters and increase their motivation in learning Chinese. A measurement scale is adopted from Han Mengrong

Because Japanese and Chinese are using the same Chinese characters, it is beneficial for Chinese native speakers to learn Japanese, but some are not. Chinese is each region are not the same system and token of Chinese characters, meaning and usage, but often in the research field of education in Japan will be regarded for more of the same from China, Taiwan and other countries, and often the simplified characters are also more. The majority of Chinese speakers often use Chinese when they write, but there is a problem with the use of Chinese, so many people are going to study this field. This research will Taiwanese Japanese learners writing, the use of native language knowledge of how to overcome the limitations of the composition and make a topic to observe the Taiwan college students write the composition (LARP at SCU), and do the analysis of the intermediary language. Analysis of the learning level of the object and the mother tongue is limited to the primary and the Taiwan mandarin. Analysis of the object of a total of 13 people, a total of 139 articles. After analysis the analysis results according to the number can be divided into four categories: Chinese characters used in Japanese Chinese character vocabulary, writing migration, spelling, pronunciation. And Chinese characters used in Japanese Chinese character vocabulary can re classification: the success of direct write Chinese characters, learning strategies, writing of the migration can also cause classification: traditional characters, simplified characters, and Chinese characters. Finally, according to the results of this study, we recommend a good Japanese educational guidance.

Abstract Calligraphy is the external appearances of Chinese character and vice versa Chinese character is the intrinsic of the calligraphy. Calligraphy is the unique art show of Chinese characters, both in literal and artistic qualities, and it is also a treasure of Chinese culture. It is not only necessary to learn calligraphy for understanding Chinese culture but also bound to promote calligraphy for teaching foreigners. In particular, new immigrants live in Taiwan will have more opportunities to contact with calligraphy in their daily life. Ancient culture city of Tainan retains very rich heritage remains of calligraphy, for those foreigners who live in Tainan will finally become part of the local culture. If it is possible to lead the calligraphy integrate into literacy courses, the effectiveness of literacy will be appeared. Accordingly, the topic is designed for the study: " The Integration of calligraphy into the new immigrant literacy teaching ─ A Case Study in Tainan new immigrants." The research content is divided into five parts: Chapter 1, "Introduction": This chapter is aimed to explain the background of this research, set research goals and questions to be filled, propose the study scope and limitations and explain terminology. Chapter 2, "Literature review": This chapter is aimed to review and explore the literatures of calligraphy related to character, culture, art, personal character, and external teaching. Based on these reviewed literatures, the relevant theories in calligraphy will be explored and more information will be gained to support this study. Chapter 3, "Research design and methods": This chapter describes the constructions of the entire study which is the research lead of this study. The chapter content contains the research framework and the implementation steps, the use of research methods, and the setting of research field and research target. Chapter 4, "Results and discussion": This chapter presents the way of integrating the calligraphy into the new immigrant literacy teaching system. The content is divided into the pre-study idea and planning, the implementation of teaching and research plan, the student learning situation, the analysis of data collection, as well as the difficulties and limitations of this study. Chapter 5, "Conclusions and suggestions": This chapter is the final chapter. Based on the results obtained from this study and the implementations of teaching and research plan, the conclusions and the suggestions will be made in this chapter. Read-out error types of Chinese characters in immigrant women Shu-Huan Teng Abstract During the language learning process, learners inevitably encounter difficulties in learning or make mistakes. While reading aloud a text that has never been encountered, discrepancies between the readers’ utterances and the text in the article are referred to as “Reading Miscues” (Yue-nu Hong, 1998). These reading miscues are meaningful. Analysis of these miscues not only makes language learning more targeted but also assists while continuing education (Chang-lai Chen, 2005). This study’s participants are women new immigrants CSL learners The learners’ reading miscues in Chinese were analyzed to further understand the learning difficulties they encounter when learning Chinese and their coping strategies. The research results demonstrate that the types of reading miscues produced by this study’s participants mainly include substitution, reversal, lexically related items, omission, mother tongue interference in pronunciation, and others. However, comparatively better performance is seen in terms of phonetically related items and insertion. Moreover, research results demonstrate that regarding the relation between participants’ literacy and their types of reading miscues, literacy has an effect on reversal, omission, and lexically related items. In addition, the error rate of learners with higher literacy levels is clearly lower than that of learners with lower literacy levels. With regard to whether there is an interaction in the context of word recognition, i.e., grapheme presentation and sentence presentation, research results show that an interaction exists between the three types of reading miscues, including “response error rate,” “mother tongue interference in pronunciation,” and “other”. To summarize the preceding section, in addition to enhancing students’ literacy as a means to decrease the recognition error rate, recognition context can be differentiated for instructional purposes so as to assist women new immigrants CSL learners in learning to read Chinese.
