As technology evolves and product life cycle shortens swiftly, intensive R&D investment becomes critical pathway to business success. Another critical technological management issue is digital convergence. Products demand higher degree of compatibility. Therefore, firms generally adopt similar strategies and positioning while facing a same market; consequently , industrial standard becomes mandate in recent competition. The research employs standard competitions in recent years as example to illustrate key determinants of standard war. This research develops perspective from holistic competition affairs, inquiring into the characteristic that the different standard competes the affairs, consider "compatibility", “relative firms support", “firm’s strength", “entry time"," technique origin character", to analyze five industries, from 1996 to 2003. This research finds out that affecting factor of industry standard competition comes from multiple sources. According to the sorting and analysis of the industry data, this research finds entry time does not definitely lead to the success. More prerequisites include fitness with technological environment and supports of other firms in the supply chain. In addition, characteristics of technology are another differentiator. Furthermore, degree of compatibility demonstrates a strong interfering power to the standard war. Finally, firm's strength does not necessarily represent the victory or defeat in standard war. By and Large, standard competitions tend to happen more in the form of cluster or chain competition that stronger vendor supports demonstrate higher probability of success no matter what strategy is employed.

To comply with the advancement in the industry, the amount of investments on both the research of new technology and the development of new market are growing with each passing day. The difficulties in the development of new product are increasing because of the technical patent problem. It makes enterprises beyond their power to do something while facing the competition. Therefore, various strategic alliances are established for businesses’ survive. Seven corporations including MACRONIX, NITENDO, LITE-ON, WINBOND, Toshiba, MOSEL and INFINEON are selected as samples for the synergy analysis of strategic alliances. Two important points obtained form this case study: (1) Both the scale and the capability of corporation can be promoted by means of strategic alliances. (2) The maximum benefit will be obtained further. Both Strategic alliances and the type of strategic alliances are selected based on the strategic consideration. The result obtained form this study also provides some valuable suggestions for business while conducting strategic alliances practices.

abstract: 随着我国经济高速发展,国民收入水平显著提高,理财方式也多种多样,如股票、债券、基金、黄金等。我国股市是新兴市场,而且正处于转轨改革的特殊时期。在这样的大环境下,股票投资者们要想获得超额收益率,最关键的是找出一套与中国股市相适应的投资对策。本文在同时关注股票成长性与价值性基础上,提出了价值成长投资策略。 通过因子实证检验方法,选取通过检验的6个有效估值因子和6个有效成长因子构成价值成长投资策略中的选股指标体系。最后利用我国A股市场上所有股票(创业板除外)从2006年至2018年的历史数据来进行该策略的有效性实证研究,在对构建的三种投资组合的超额收益率进行比较。经实证检验,发现双维度的价值成长投资策略要优于单维度的价值投资策略和成长投资策略,其对预测股票下一期收益率具有非常好的效果,而且具有很好的股票市场区分度。具体来说,价值投资策略的平均超额收益率为11.22%,成长型投资策略的平均超额收益为6.82%,而价值成长投资策略的平均超额收益远超上述两种投资策略为21.27%。 本文从价值策略和成长策略的角度,尝试验证价值成长投资策略在我国A股市场的适用性。一方面,研究结果丰富了我国股票市场的投资策略,拓宽了现有价值成长策略的研究,另一方面,对于广大投资者们具有一定的参考意义,我国股市未来的发展趋势是由投机渐渐向成熟理性市场转变。

This study has two main purposes. The first one is,under the different performance objectives(namely adaptablity, finance and marketing performance), how to make various business strategies fit the manufacturing advantage dimensions consisting of quality, delivery, cost as well as flexibility. The second one is, under the different performance objectives, how to make various business strategies fit the degree of manufacturing people participating in the business decision concerns sush as purchasing new technology, developing new technology, etc. To reach above purposes, the author first reviews and integrates various theoretical perspectives to develop a more comprehensive hybrid typology of business strategies. Besides, several specific propositions concerning the fit relationship between manufacturing advantage dimensions, the degree of manufacturing people participating in the business decision concerns and business strategies are constructed. Finally the propositions are empirically examined based on the data collected from 113 high technology manufacturing firms in Taiwan (four industries: personal computer/peripheral device producers, consumer electronic producers, integrated circuit producer and communication device producers). The conclusions of this research are presented as the following: 1. The research findings strongly suggest the need to fit between business strategies and manufacturing advantages, but how to fit each other depends upon what kind of performance dimensions the firm sets. 2. Preemptive firms should fit the manufacturing advantage of volume flexibility, but differentiated-follower or low cost-follower firms aren''t suited to fit or reinforce the volume flexibility having a negative effect upon business performance. 3. Preemptive or differentiated-follower firms should fit the manufacturing advantages of feature quality; low cost-follower firms should fit the manufacturing advantages of reliability quality. 4. The research findings also strongly suggest the need to fit between business strategies and the degree of manufacturing people participating in the business decision concerns, but how to fit each other depends upon what kind of performance dimensions the firm sets. 5. Preemptive firms'' manufacturing people should actively participate in the decisions of acquiring new technology, developing new technology and developing new products to increase the adaptability performance dimension. 6. Differentiated-follower firms'' manufacturing people should actively participate in the decisions of designing the parts of new products to increase the finance and marketing performance dimensions.

The market scale and growth rate of software industry have surpassed these of hardware industry globally. In the future, the core of computer industry structure will be software industry. There are some specific characteristics of software industry, such as rapid development of software products, the R&D cost is a enormous fixed and sunk cost, copying is costless, and the network effect of software industry. The network effect is the key element that would influence software firms’ strategy. Although software piracy would decrease the profit of software firms, the protection of software is not always a good idea. Owing to network effect, sometimes the software firms should choose not to protect their software. This study discussed the strategy of software firms by economic model. This study analyzed the situation as the third firm enters the doupoly software market. Network effect would not only influence the third firm’s location, but also the each firm’s strategy. This study would discuss the third firm’s location, each firm’s software price, numbers of users, profit, and the strategy about protecting software or not.

Abstract The "pharmaceutical bureau" is an important role in the entire medical care system. The community pharmacy is an important guardianship level for the health of the people. Due to the diversified business model of the modern pharmacy, the people are no longer just buying medical supplies and drugs. Ordinary livelihood supplies, such as milk powder and drinks, may be bought at the pharmacy. Under this model, community pharmacy pharmacists are increasingly exposed to the public, and the professional services provided by professional pharmacists are very important to the public! In recent years, the ecology of Taiwan's pharmacy has been constantly changing. More and more chain drug bureaus have been established. With sufficient funds and modern management methods, the chain map has been continuously expanded. The government and health insurance policies have been continuously updated and changed. Moreover, changes in people’s consumption behaviors and habits, an increasing number of aging populations, and the fierce competition between the local non-chain drug bureaus and chain drug bureaus in the pharmaceutical market have forced domestic traditional pharmacies to change their business models. Joined the ranks of drugstores, but there is still a large proportion of non-chain drugstores in existence. Many domestic studies have analyzed the success factors of chain drugstores, but few studies have explored whether all drugstores have franchise needs, and examine the value of the drugstore itself and its functions. On the one hand, the non-chain drug bureaus on the one hand are affected by the development of the circulation industry and the modernization of the business. On the other hand, they are affected by the trend of the national health insurance and the medical industry, resulting in qualitative and quantitative changes. The number of independent stores is greater than that of the chain store, but the business performance is far less than that of the chain stores. The relationship between the non-chain pharmacy and the chain pharmacy in terms of business performance is worth exploring.

The business cycles of PCB industry fluctuate violently and this create disorder of supply and demand, under such kind of situation result in PCB industry profit going down, the pressure of cost reduction are more and more huge than before and this create more advantage to drilling machine. This document will discuss the demand of high level electrical products and consumption products, and this will help us to understand the orientation and demand about driller, in the mean time we could know the product characteristic factor of driller, and go through Hamel theory to analysis these factors to understand that the competition between groups and game competition and the development strategy of local driller maker.

Obtaining a competitive advantage via a well thought out strategy and its execution for value creation is one of the most important tasks for executives in today's cutthroat market place. A listed Taiwanese enterprise was chosen as the subject company for this study. Focused efforts were directed to analyze the relationship between the subject company's strategy and its actions in pursue as well as to diagnose its overall management performance. The results of this study were summarized in hope to provide the firm an organized framework for refining and mapping its strategic plans and developing its performance measuring system. The approach of this study is guided in four sequential steps: 1. Examine the subject company's strategic insight to understand the firms strategic posture (capability, environment, goal), functional policy, organization structure, and relationship between its action plans and measuring system; 2. Diagnose, by applying the methodology of Strategic Posture Analysis, the subject company's performance management system and identify gaps between actions and its strategic direction for the corporate and its individual business units; 3. Develop the subject company’s strategy map and translate the mission and strategy of corporate and individual business units into a set of measuring build around the four perspectives within the framework of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a template for investigating the subject company's performance in relationship to its objectives; and 4. Test empirically the correlation between the key performance drivers and its strategic objectives to provide a gap analysis as the basis for its improvement planning. The major findings and results from the study are summarized as follows: 1. The assessment on the subject company's current strategies and its actual operations in practice revealed that its vision and mission have not been clearly communicated and consensus was lacking on priority of resource deployment among its executives. As a result, the subject company suffers from high communication cost and lagged performance. It is imperative that the subject company clarify its corporate vision and mission statement and long term strategic objectives to realign individual business units' actions to corporate long term strategic postures. 2. Through multiple interviews with its officers and their participation in analysis of the subject company's overall strategic posture, consensus on strategies for both short term and long term were eventually achieved. Playing follower to the leading brands in the short term will continue while, in the long run, it will prepare itself to be a total solution provider in its selected markets. Dedicated efforts to strengthen its functional materials and equipment engineering platform as well as to expand its front end customer service capability were suggested. Due to the nature of its diverse business unit operations, the business unit executives agreed on a combined strategy portfolio–focusing branded business activities in value building; expanding OEM business for economies of scale while steering toward ODM; and adding E-Channel to broaden its communication and connection vehicles to the market and consumers. Organization may need to be restructured in such a way as to allow resource sharing and leveraging for better synergy. It was well recognized that increasing activities in the value chain together with enlarged OEM/ODM scale will naturally enhance the subject company's driving position in its industrial network. 3. A strategy map in the framework of BSC was developed for correlation analysis between the current performance drivers and key strategic objectives. Weak correlations were identified in many of the subject company's key activities which suggest the needs for further review upon its strategy setting and execution practice before a BSC concept-based strategic performance management system could be applied effectively to integrate performance across organization.

Company T is among traditional electrical & mechanical industry. Under stagnant growth rate both in market share and new products development, it really gets into scrapes. However some companies in the same industry take great actions in external growth and they really make succeed. The purpose of this research will compare the differences between those successful companies and company T, then we will make several suggestions for T. I use case study method for this research and it’s the type of datum comparing and analyzing. The resources of relative datum include the primary and the secondary datum. The former mainly derived from the processes of interview with case companies, the latter mainly came from annals of those companies. After datum comparing in external growth strategy between successful companies and T, I have some suggestions for it: (1)Making clear vision. (2)High-level managers take active action to invest in predominant high-tech companies. (3)Accumulating internal resources for external growth. (4)Consider different entrance policies. (5)Establish a responsible depart and make progress in investment effects. This research also makes three general propositions: (1)Vivid strategic intent and high-level managers role lead to better opportunities collecting and resources gathering. (2)A company with vivid strategic intent, high-level managers role, better opportunities collecting and resources gathering will master in the entrance policies. (3)A company will make better effects when it has vivid strategic intent, high-level managers role, better opportunities and resources collecting skill, good entrance policies and great risk control system.

Abstract This thesis presents a detailed investigation on the strategy of Biotechnology Industry in Knowledge-Based Economy. The study accompanied with a literature review and integrated the opinion of professional consultation, scholars, and academic discussion from different biotechnology field. According to the result of data by Analytic Hierarchy Process(A.H.P.) found out the government policy respected priority over other elements in the first hierarchy. In the second hierarchy, the ability of professional training in biotechnology is the most respected element among those of the academic circle. Viewing through the whole, the most respected elements in all industrial circles are financial assistance, remitting interest rate and to expand the way of collecting fund. The results of this study might provide the object of biotechnology industry in government organizations, industrial circles, and academic research. The industrial circles may correct the activity of business to promote the benefits by weighting analysis. According to the weighting distribution, the government must support the industry with improving the efficiency of management. For the contribution of academic research is to accumulate the knowledge in biotechnology knowledge and provide the widespread research field. The purpose of maintenance is to retain a system in, and/or restore it to, a serviceable condition and functional status that the required availability level can be satisfied and the failure rate can be reduced. In the conventional maintenance concept, it is assumed that the system is as good as new after maintenance. However, for aging or deteriorating systems, the maintenance actions are imperfect. As a result, the operational conditions, lifetime, and reliability will be somewhere between as-good-as-new and as-bad-as-old. This research applies quasi-renewal process to model the deteriorating process of aging systems that the system failure and maintenance will lead to 「decrease of operation time」 and 「increase of maintenance time」. Thus, after maintenance, the system operating time, maintenance time, maintenance cost, and environmental factors will deteriorate. Using statistical analysis, the deteriorating parameters can be derived to facilitate the construction of more accurate availability and maintenance cost models. The objective of this research is to develop a framework to evaluate the imperfect preventive maintenance policies for aging, or deteriorating, systems. First, applying the quasi-renewal process, the failure distribution and availability models can be construction. Second, considering the “block” and “age” preventive maintenance policies, separately, the maintenance cost models are developed to minimize the maintenance cost rate. Third, via the numerical analysis, the optimal “block” or “age” preventive maintenance period can be solved. Finally, the optimal preventive maintenance policy can be obtained via the synthesis and analysis of different maintenance policies subject to the constraint of availability requirements. This research studies the failures and maintenance of the Afterburner Nozzle Control (ABNC) system of one type of new fighter systems to analyze its preventive maintenance policies. Utilizing the developed imperfect preventive maintenance models, the optimal imperfect “block” and “age” preventive maintenance policies can be obtained. Then, the effects of imperfect and perfect maintenance will be compared based on the maintenance cost rates for ABNC. The results of this research can be applied to different equipment in the operational phase of the total life cycle. Collecting the field failure and maintenance data, the methods and procedures developed in this research can be applied to different equipment to analyze the optimal preventive maintenance period for different policies to obtain the optimal preventive maintenance policy.
