The concept of graph labeling was introduced in the mid-1960s by Rosa. In this paper, we introduce a notion of graceful labeling of a finite poset. We obtain graceful labeling of some postes such as a chain, a fence, and a crown. In 2002 Thakare, Pawar, and Waphare introduced the `adjunct' operation of two lattices with respect to an adjunct pair of elements. We obtain the graceful labeling of an adjunct sum of two chains with respect to an adjunct pair (0, 1). AMS Subject Classification 2020: 06A05, 06A06, 05C78

Let G be a graph with its vertices and edges. On defining bijective function ρ:V(G) →{0,1,...,p}. For each edge assign the label with 1 if ρ*(ab)= | ρ(a)2−ρ(b)2/ρ(a)−ρ(b) | is odd or 0 otherwise such that |eρ(1) − eρ(0)| ≤ 1 then the labeling is called as divided square difference cordial labeling graph. Abstract:
Fault tolerance is the characteristic of a system that permits it to carry on its intended operations in case of the failure of one of its units. Such a system is known as the fault-tolerant self-stable system. In graph theory, if we remove any vertex in a resolving set, then the resulting set is also a resolving set, called the fault-tolerant resolving set, and its minimum cardinality is called the fault-tolerant metric dimension. In this paper, we determine the fault-tolerant resolvability in line graphs. As a main result, we computed the fault-tolerant metric dimension of line graphs of necklace and prism graphs (2010 Mathematics Subject Classification: 05C78).

Abstract:
A totally irregular total k-labeling λ: V U E → {1, 2, ⋯ , k} of a graph G is a labeling where the weights of all distinct vertices and edges are unique. The weight w(x) of a vertex x is defined as the sum of its label and the labels of all edges incident to it, while the weight w(e) of an edge e is the sum of its label and the labels of its two endpoints. The minimum k for which G admits such a labeling is known as the total irregularity strength of G, denoted ts(G). This study focuses on determining ts(G) for specific classes of trees, including the comb product of stars, where the contact vertex is the central vertex of one star, and the triple star graph. Keywords: comb product; star; total irregularity strength; totally irregular total labeling graph. Abstract:
Objectives: Fuzzy graphs allow uncertainty in the ideas characterizing vertices and edges to be included when modelling real-world scenarios into graph models. This study aims to introduce Hajós fuzzy graph, cardinality of Hajós graph and Hajós fuzzy graph and to explore many properties. Methods : Here, the Hajós construction is applied to two fuzzy graphs, and the Hajós fuzzy graph is defined by assigning membership values to all the edges and vertices of the newly formed fuzzy graph. Fuzzy graph conditions are verified for the assigned membership values. Examples are used to illustrate the concept. Findings: The Hajós fuzzy graph's size and order are established. Isomorphic property is discussed. The number of Hajós (fuzzy) graphs that exist for some combinations of two (fuzzy) graphs is calculated. Novelty: Based on Hajós construction, the Hajós fuzzy graph is defined. Based on the fact that different choices of vertices and edges produce different Hajós (fuzzy) graph, its cardinality is defined. The notion of cardinality is a novel concept in Hajos graph which helps to find the total number of Hajós (fuzzy) graphs. The cardinality of the Hajós (fuzzy) graph which arises from two (fuzzy) graphs that can be a cycle, path, regular graph, complete graph and complete bipartite graph are derived. Abstract:
Objectives: This study presents a new type of fuzzy graph known as the difference mean fuzzy graph by introducing difference mean edge. Methodology: In this paper, difference mean edge in a fuzzy graph is defined by considering the relationship between the membership value of the edge and the membership values of its end vertices. Also, difference mean fuzzy graph is defined and its properties are derived. Findings: The difference mean edge and the difference mean fuzzy graph are introduced. The requirements for an edge in the direct sum of two fuzzy graphs to be a difference mean edge are found in this study. Additionally, conditions are derived such that the direct sum of two fuzzy graphs is a difference mean fuzzy graph. Novelty: Depending on the membership values of the edges and vertices, effective edge in fuzzy graph have already been defined. A new concept of difference mean edge in fuzzy graph is introduced. Using this, difference mean fuzzy graph is also introduced. Characterizations of the difference mean edge in the direct sum of fuzzy graphs are attained. The requirements for the necessary and sufficient component of difference mean fuzzy graphs to be a direct sum are suggested. Mathematics Subject Classification (2020): 05C72, 05C76. Schneider, James D. "The English Diplomatic Corps, 1649-1660: a comparison of the diplomats of the Commonwealth and Protectorate and of Charles II." Thesis, Kansas State University, 2011. http://hdl.handle.net/2097/8454.

Full text
Abstract:
Master of Arts
Department of History
Marsha L. Frey
The diplomatic corps employed by Oliver Cromwell and Charles II from 1649 to 1660 differed greatly. This study will focus on the top three diplomatic ranks: ambassador, envoys and residents and will exclude agents and chargé d′affaires. The lesser ranks have been excluded for several reasons primarily because biographical information does not exist for many of them and as lesser diplomats their missions were not significant and often lasted only a matter of days. This prosopographical examination of the twenty-four diplomats employed by Charles II and Oliver Cromwell provides insight into their similarities as well as their differences. After examining the twenty-four, one from each side will be further researched. In matters of religion, Cromwell predictably sent Protestants. Charles also sent Protestants, but did send Roman Catholics, especially to Catholic courts. Despite the age difference between Cromwell and Charles II, age did not separate their diplomats. The average age of Cromwell’s and Charles’ II diplomats was both forty years. In matters of education, those who went to college had a tendency to choose the Puritan-influenced Cambridge for the Commonwealth and Protectorate and Oxford for the Royalists. The area a diplomat was from shows that the diplomats from north chose the side of the Commonwealth while those from London and south chose the Royalist side. Royalists had a higher percentage of military service and a higher percentage of Parliamentary service. Although more Commonwealth and Protectorate diplomats had a university education, the Royalists had a higher percentage of master’s degrees and the study of the law. When looking at a diplomat’s position in a family, the Commonwealth diplomats had a greater chance of being the oldest son, while the Royalists tended to be younger sons. This information is valuable because it expands the commonly held historiographical image of the typical Royalist and Commonwealth supporters and illustrates the differences between the general support and each sides diplomatic corps.

Abstract:
Master of Arts
Department of History
Sue Zschoche
As the world enters the centennial of World War I, interest in this war is reviving. Books, television shows, and movies are bringing the war into popular culture. Now that all the participants of the war have passed away a change is occurring in in American memory. The transition from living to non-living memory is clearly visible in museums, one of the main ways history is communicated to the public. Four museums are studied in this paper. Two exhibits built in the 1990s are in the 1st Infantry Division Museum at Fort Riley, Kansas, and the Chemical Corps Museum in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The other two exhibits are newer and are the National World War I Museum in Kansas City, Missouri and the Cantigny 1st Infantry Division Museum in Wheaton, Illinois. Findings reveal that exhibits become more inclusive over time to civilian bodies, wounded bodies, and the specific image of “Americans killing Germans bodies.” However, even though there is change some things are turning into myths. The icon of the American soldier as a healthy and strong man willing to sacrifice his life for the country is still a major theme throughout all the exhibits. Finally, there are several myths that America has adopted from its allies. The icons of the bandages over the eyes from the chemical attacks and the horrors of the trenches are borrowed, to a certain extent, from America’s allies. The Americans were only in the war for a limited time and borrowed cultural memories to supplement their own. The examination of the four museums is important because this transition will happen again and soon. Museums must be conscious of the changes occurring during this transition in order to confront the challenges.

Abstract:
Master of Arts
Department of History
Charles Sanders
The power of historical memory is readily apparent in the United States of America. Ask any descendent of veterans that served in war, and a plethora of reasons behind their willingness to fight will follow. As with any conflict, the enduring legacies of the war‘s aftermath are not always clear until years after the fact. Memory of the American Civil War took several different routes before finally settling on the "spirit of reconciliation" that came to dominate American society in the post-war era. In the South, the "Lost Cause" began to take hold with former Confederates attempting to justify their defeat and change the historical record to excuse their actions. As the winner in the war, the North did not need to come up with justification as to why they fought—they had secured the Union and destroyed the divisive institution, slavery. Gradually over time, Northerners and Southerners celebrated their veterans while simultaneously promoting reconciliation between the two sections. As a result, any emancipationist legacy from the end of the Civil War was relegated to irrelevancy in American society as Jim Crow settled in within the South for the next hundred years. Memory of the American Civil War continues to have lasting impact upon modern American society, especially with the sesquicentennial celebrations of the war‘s major battles. Lesser known, and yet equally as important, is the memory of the American Revolution. As with the "Lost Cause", the American Revolution experienced its own reconstruction with equal parts forgetting and remembering. Emerging from this "reconstruction" was what became known as the American identity. Thirteen disparate colonies became a solid monolith of Americanism in the reconstructed views of the Revolution, instead of the divided thirteen colonies they truly were. This thesis argues that the "Lost Cause" and spirit of reconciliation that permeated the post-war United States after the Civil War followed a tradition of desiring unity above all else at the expense of minority groups such as African Americans and Native Americans, that began with the American Revolution.

Currently, organic electronics is one of the most expanding technology of semiconductor devices. This direction is rapidly developing due to the constant synthesis of new organic compounds and sophisticated advances in device engineering. Currently, organic materials are used in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic thin-film transistors, solar cells and sensors. Low-cost manufacturing techniques such as wet casting or inkjet printing enable organic materials use in large-area and flexible electronic devices. Modern organic electronic materials are multifunctional – this enables not only to improve the material properties, but also to simplify the device architecture. However, the complexity of the molecular structure brings new problems associated with complex phenomena of the new multifunctional molecules -such as the formation of aggregates, intramolecular charge transfer, intramolecular torsion and others. Therefore, the control of the features of new multifunctional molecules is the main problem of organic electronics today. This work focuses on the control of photophysical characteristics of multifunctional organic emitters. Here we study aggregation induced emission and quenching of multifunctional molecular emitters and the possibilities to control these phenomena by optimizing functional properties of the film such as film forming properties, charge transfer, the emission efficiency, amplified spontaneous emission threshold and others.

Abstract:
Abstract Corrosion in biogas power plants can influence the economic success of these energy production processes. The corrosion processes in biogas power plants have been investigated by various techniques. The influence of different feed materials has been studied. Long term exposure tests were conducted to determine the corrosion resistance of two different stainless steels and galvanized steel. Scanning electron microscopy and metallographic cross sections show the differences in the corrosion behavior of the materials studied. Electrochemical measurements have also been performed. The results, which show the kinetics of the different materials, will be discussed. Recommendations for the safe use of the materials in biogas power plants, will be given.

Abstract:
Abstract The corrosive effects of hydrogen sulfide result in significant additional operating costs for production, including higher pipeline failure rates as well as souring of the produced oil and gas. In order to mitigate the effects of hydrogen sulfide and produce in spec oil and gas, chemical scavengers are often applied, typically topside and post-separation. Downhole injection has the benefit of providing the opportunity to remove H2S at the earliest point of the production system, but more traditional chemistries can significantly impact scale deposition downhole or cause corrosion on production equipment. We report case histories of a new, non-scaling chemical scavenger that exhibits effective hydrogen sulfide scavenging performance for downhole applications without the use of triazines. In addition, we show how detailed knowledge of the system parameters and the kinetics and mechanism of H2S scavenging provide a means for predicative performance and optimization within individual systems.

Abstract:
Abstract Corrosion protection of industrial equipment and spare parts during mothballing and deep storage is an ongoing issue worldwide. Many factors must be considered when determining best practice for asset preservation; length of time, type of equipment, accessibility, preventative maintenance schedule, and environmental and storage conditions have the greatest influence, while other conditions may also need to be considered. Traditional preservation methods such as nitrogen blanketing, desiccation, or heavy, wax based surface applied coatings can be costly to implement and maintain, and can become even more costly if they fail. Replacement of equipment can result in millions of dollars in losses - both in replacement cost and facility downtime. Incorporation of volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) systems is an effective method to replace traditional preservation programs. These systems are often more cost effective to implement, have little to no maintenance cost, and have less failures in long term preservation programs. These VCI systems will be explored in both laboratory and real world settings, compared to traditional systems, and costs of each will be compared.

Abstract:
Abstract Significant efforts are ongoing, nationally and internationally, to reduce the radioactivity of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) and high level waste (HLW) for their disposal in potential repository by a process known as Transmutation. Transmutation involves generation of neutrons by bombardment of accelerator-driven protons onto a target material. These neutrons are then impinged upon SNF/HLW, minimizing or isolating actinides and fission products, thus, substantially reducing their half-lives. This paper presents the results of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and localized corrosion studies of a martensitic stainless steel, namely Alloy EP-823 in aqueous environments of different pH values at ambient and elevated temperatures. Further, the metallographic and fractographic evaluations of all broken specimens have been performed.

Abstract:
Abstract This research work presents a study of Top of the Line Corrosion (TLC) on carbon steels in the presence of carbon dioxide and acetic acid. The influence of different parameters such as the presence of mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) and the use of pH control were studied in a 4” diameter flow loop. Two sets of experiments were conducted; one at 70°C, high CO2 partial pressure and a “critical” condensation rate and another one at 80°C, low CO2 partial pressure and a high condensation rate. Weight loss techniques and surface analysis were used to evaluate the corrosion rate and products. It was found that the presence of HAc at the concentrations evaluated does not affect the general corrosion rate at the top of the line. Top of the line corrosion rates correlate with the De Waard / Lotz estimate of 10% of bottom of the line rates15. It is believed that the corrosion mechanism is still controlled by CO2 partial pressure at the experimental conditions evaluated in this study. The presence of MEG has not shown any effect on TLC due to the fact that the condensation rate was kept constant. The use of pH control in the supply is believed to limit the amount of HAc in the condensed water. No clear evidence of localized corrosion or pits can be reported at this stage of the study due to the short time of exposure.

Abstract:
Abstract Defined as the structured process that outlines locations where a pipeline is physically examined to provide assessment of internal corrosion, direct assessment is used as a method, in lieu of hydro tests or inline inspections, to ensure the integrity of a pipeline, improve reliability, and increase public safety. The Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (ICDA) Method has been developed to assess the corrosion impact of short-term upsets of liquid water on transmission gas pipeline integrity. This process includes collection, analysis, assessment, and integration of data into a structured risk based format. The Direct Assessment method is especially useful on older pipelines, pipelines which cannot be electronically inspected, and pipelines which normally cannot be contaminated with water. To date, no extensive field work or corroboration studies have been completed for the validation of this process. This paper focuses on the ICDA related methods and various strategies currently being implemented to improve and validate this methodology including: fluid dynamics, multiphase flow modeling, pipeline structures, product corrosivity analysis. These analysis methods collectively can advance implementation, validation, and application of the ICDA method for gas transmission pipeline systems.
