The paper deals with two topics: the problem of logical and the problem of the connection between deep logic and linguistic-specific cognitive development. The author criticizes the widespread reduction of “logical” to university logic and proposes to understand A.V. Smirnov’s logic-sense theory as a program of analysis of the intuitions and procedures underlying particular kinds of logic. The distinction between substantive

This chapter deals with normative international relations theory, a field of study that relies on a variety of approaches and theories to explore moral expectations, decisions, and dilemmas in world politics. Normative IR theory has adopted—and adapted—conceptual categories such as communitarianism and cosmopolitanism from political theory. It also borrows from moral philosophy to designate different types of ethical reasoning, such as deontology and consequentialism. The chapter begins with an overview of the history, influences, and some of the categories that normative IR theory brings to t

"LOGOCENTRISM Logocentrism—Term ascribed to Jacques Derrida that refers to the nature of Western thought, language and culture since Plato's era. The Greek signifier for 'word,' 'speech' and 'reason', logos possesses connotations in Western culture for law and truth. Hence, logocentrism refers to a culture that revolves around a central set of universal principles or beliefs. More specifically, logocentrism denominates that process in the history of Western thought which, since Aristotle, privileges speech over writing as being closer to mental experience. Thus, for Derrida the history of meta-physics in the West is the history of logocentrism. The logocentric insistence in Western philosophy on the priority of voice over writing belongs to a metaphysics of presence. transform the thinking of subjectivity in terms of hetero-geneous semiotic flows. Machinic subjectivity is productive, 'polyphonic' and irreducibly multiform rather than unifying. However , while it may be productive in hitherto undreamt of ways, Guattari warns that machine subjectivity has the potential for a 'mind-numbing mass mediatization'. Manicheanism—Belief in a kind of philosophical or religious dualism. Masculinity/femininity—Binary opposition which refers to the construction of attributes of identity associated with or based on a given individual's sexuality or gender-ascribed perspectives and/or culturally encoded value systems con-cerning behaviour. Masquerade—In contemporary gender theory, the concept of masquerade, derived from the writings of Joan Rivière, is central, particularly her essay 'Womanliness as a Masquer-ade' (1929). It argues that gender is a performance rather than a natural phenomenon with which one is born; it has to be acquired, learned and polished and is in no sense natural." In epistemology, part of philosophy dedicated to the multiple ways in which we approach the great questions of knowledge, there are types of knowledge, such as design, that cannot be explained only by their claims to true knowledge – as is the case with the so-called "hard" sciences – but by way of acquisition, the degree of order they establish in the world. the direction they provide to the lives of human beings and the progress they bring to humanity. During the first half of the 20th century, education scholars John Dewey and Lev Vygotsky and music educators James Mursell, Paul Farnsworth, and Charles Seeger brought distinctive social and cultural perspectives to bear on this complex phenomenon. Paradigm shifts in the mid- and late-20th century have further expanded awareness of the interdependence of social, cultural, and cognitive factors in human development and, thus, in music teaching and learnin
