Abstract:
Abstract A sample preparation method has been developed that provides a nitric acid-hydrogen peroxide digestion of plant tissue when it is heated internally by the oscillating electromagnetic field generated in a microwave oven. The total elemental concentration for barium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, sulfur, and zinc can be determined by inductively coupled argon plasma emission spectroscopy after sample preparation in a microwave oven. The method is rapid and provides quantitative results that agree with certified values for 4 National Bureau of Standards Standard Reference Materials: 1570 Spinach, 1572 Citrus Leaves, 1573 Tomato Leaves, and 1575 Pine Needles.

Abstract:
The group of actors from whom the Gelosi company arose are thought to have first come together in 1568, with the amalgamation of two troupes led by the prima donnas Vincenza and Flaminia. They were already known by the name Gelosi when they toured France in 1571; by 1572 they were popular enough to be able to complain that the stanze in Genoa could only hold an audience of 150; in 1574 their performance, and that of their leading lady, Vittoria Piisimi, were the highlight of Henri III's visit to Venice, and their reputation as the foremost com-media dell'arte troupe was fully established. Por-cacchi's pamphlet of 1574 notes some of the Gelosi actors of the time as Simon of Bologna, who played a facchino Bergamasco, Giulio Pas-quati as the Magnifico and Rinaldo. A Mantuan decree of 5 May 1579 names as Gelosi actors Simon the Bergamasco, Orazio and Adriano the innamorati, and Gabriele their friend.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Zamonov, Akbar. "SPECIFIC ASPECT OF MANAGEMENT OF SAMARKAND BY THE SHEYBANIDS DYNASTY." CURRENT RESEARCH JOURNAL OF HISTORY 04, no. 03 (March 1, 2023): 1–13. http://dx.doi.org/10.37547/history-crjh-04-03-01.

Abstract:
In this paper, the author attempted to analyse the issues related to the ownership and management of Samarkand and adjacent territories during the reign of the Sheybanids dynasty. In the research work, the specific aspects of the dynastic management in Samarkand were studied based on the local sources, written during the reign of the Sheybanids and Ashtarkhanids, diaries of the ambassadors and travellers, and modern historians. According to the sources, during XVI century Samarkand was ruled by descendants of four sons of Abulkhayrkhan, an outstanding representative of the Sheybanids dynasty. These were the descendants of Shah Budag in 1500-1510, in 1512-1552 and 1556-1572 – descendants of Kuchkunchikhan, in 1552-1556 – descendants of Suyuchkhuja, and in 1578-1598 – the descendants of Khuja Muhammad Sultan, who had the opportunity of ruling Samarkand. From this point of view, the article analyses the administration of Samarkand region based on the specific features of this era by conditionally dividing it into three periods. Similarly to the period of reign of Timurids, during the first period – 1500-1541 the city was the centre of Maveraunnahr, the capital of the Sheybanids state; in the second period, 1541-1578, Samarkand was an independent khanate together with the territories around it; in the third period of 1578-1598 – it was a large region in the Bukhara khanate with no status of the political centre. This paper studies the history of administration of Samarkand by the Sheybanids dynasty by such division into periods and on the basis of the information in the sources and scientific literature.

Abstract:
In 1572–1668 the Sejm of the Commonwealth of Two Nations underwent constant evolution. The greatest changes occurred at the time of the first interregnum (1572–74) after the death of the last Jagiellonian monarch – Zygmunt Augustus (1572). This was the time of the emergence of two types of new Sejms (convocation and election ones), functioning exclusively during the interregnum. The Henrician Articles (1574) resolved that the Sejm was to debate only for six weeks, and that the monarch was compelled to convoke it at least once every two years. The extraordinary Sejm was established in 1613 – it could be convened in cases of urgent needs and it sat for two or three weeks. The Parliament was composed of three estates: the king, the Senate, and the deputies as well as two chambers. The upper chamber (Senate) consisted of senators nominated by the monarch on a lifelong basis, and the lower chamber (Chamber of Deputies) – of deputies of the noble estate elected at pre-Sejm sejmiks (Polish: sejmiki). An integral part of the Parliament was composed of the Sejm court, both appellant and trying gravest crimes. The Crown and Lithuanian Tribunal, established in 1578–81, assumed appellation competences from the Sejm court. Tribunal judges were elected every year for a year-long term of office at special sejmiks known as deputational or deputy (judicial), which constituted a forum; here deputies presented to the voters accounts of their parliamentary activity. At the turn of 1591, post-Sejm or relational (debriefing) sejmiks were convened after the closure of the Sejm debates; here deputies presented reports concerning their parliamentary activities. The growing composition of the Parliament was associated with an expansion of state territory as a result of victorious wars waged against Muscovy. New bishoprics, voivodeships, and sejmiki were established. There were 140 senators in 1572, and 150 during the 1630s. Analogously, the number of deputies grew from 166 to 180. The Sejm acted upon the basis of a consensus, and thus was obligated to take into account the stand of the minorities. In 1652, the protest of a single deputy for the first time rendered further Sejm debates impossible. From then on, the Polish-Lithuanian Parliament constantly succumbed to a degradation process.

Abstract:
The town of Santa Elena was founded by the Spanish in 1566 and occupied by them until 1587 except for the period August 1576 to July 1577. At one time (1572–74) it was the designated capital of Spanish Florida and the residence of the wife and two daughters and sons-in-law of D.Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, Adelantado of Florida. Its population prior to 1576 had more farmer-settlers than did St. Augustine and its garrison was sometimes larger than that in its better known sister. From those heights it fell into such complete oblivion that only a few scholars knew that it had been located on the southeastern end of Parris Island, and even they were not certain that anything survived save the partial remains of one of its forts.

Abstract I cinque libri delle piante of Pier’Antonio Michiel (1510–1576) are kept in the Biblioteca Marciana in Venice. Eleven of the 1,028 plant drawings contained in their five volumes stand out for their notable stylistic differences from the rest. The authors advance the hypothesis that these eleven drawings derive from the work of indigenous scribe-artists in the Valley of Mexico. In tracing the various series of copies of them that circulated between New Spain, the Iberian peninsula and Italy, they highlight the important role played in the production and transportation of copies by Marcantonio Da Mula (1506–1572), and suggest the Spanish nobleman Diego Hurtado de Mendoza (c.1503–1575) as the link between the Spanish court and Michiel’s native Venice.

Abstract:
For What Reasons did Academicians select to use or not to use any given textbook for their own classroom instruction during the Renaissance? To what extent did ideological or pragmatic considerations influence such decisions? In this article these questions are posed to examine the use of the writings of Petrus Ramus (1515—1572) and Omer Talon (ca. 1510-1562) at schools and universities in Central Europe during the six decades between 1570 and 1630. Did “Ramist” academicians of this period make use in the classroom of writings by these two authors because of some fundamental agreement with their views? Or were these two authors preferred during these six decades because their writings could be used eclectically and/or they fit well into specific parts of the curriculum at certain academic institutions?

Abstract:
Artykuł prezentuje związek wybranych polskich przekładów biblijnych z narodową i osobistą historią Polaków (XIV–XVI wiek). Dzieje Psałterza Floriańskiego (XIV–XV wiek) i Biblii Królowej Zofii (XV wiek) są związane z początkami dynastii Jagiellonów. Pierwszy druk biblijny po polsku (Prolog do Ewangelii według św. Jana, 1518/1519) oraz edycje Nowego Testamentu w tłumaczeniu Stanisława Murzynowskiego (1551–1553) świadczą o rozwoju polskiej ortografii. Ilustracje do Biblii Leopolity (1561, 1575/1577) i dopiski do komentarzy do Dziejów Apostolskich Tomasza Falconiusa (1566) opowiadają o burzliwych dziejach polskiej Reformacji. Dedykacja drugiego wydania Biblii Leopolity i jej zmiana są świadectwem fiaska pierwszej wolnej elekcji. Rękopiśmienne dopiski we wrocławskim egzemplarzu Biblii Szymona Budnego (1572) opowiadają o upadku I Rzeczypospolitej. Rękopiśmienne zapiski w Żołtarzu w tłumaczeniu Walentego Wróbla (1528) są kroniką rodziny Wiliezińskich. Opowiadając historię polskich przekładów biblijnych, można opowiedzieć historię Polski.
