Abstract:
The aim of this study is to provide a list of the butterflies (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea) that occur in the rupestrian grasslands of Serra do Cipó, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Butterflies were sampled using VSR traps and entomological nets in seven undisturbed plots between 800 and 1400m above sea level. We collected 1,520 individuals belonging to 172 species. Among these species, four are on the Brazilian list of endangered species: Cunizza hirlanda planasia (Stoll, 1790), Magnastigma julia Nicolay, 1977, Strymon ohausi (Spitz, 1933) and Rhetus belphegor (Westwood, 1851).

Eugeniusz Chlebcewicz is undoubtedly one of the outstanding representatives of the period in which he lived. The biographical sketches of Jan Barszczewski (1790–1851), Franciszak Bahuszewicz (1840–1900), Janka Kupala (1882–1942) and Ciotka (1876–1916) have a documentary value. Chlebcewicz’s works are often referred to by contemporary literary critics who carry out research on new Belarusian literature. His relations with representatives of the literary period named “Парнасу Нашанiўскай праы” are testimony to the enormous role of Chlebcewicz himself in the revival of the Belarusian movement at

The Spanish established these garrisons to provide their settlers and missionaries protection from hostile indigenous tribes opposing expansion into their territories. Between 1692 and 1776, presidios were established on the Sonoran frontier at Fronteras, Terrenate, Horcasitas, Santa Cruz, Altar, Tubac, Bavispe, Bacoachi, and Tucson. This thesis explores the relationship between the Female Gothic novel of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century and the social context of women at that time. In the examination of the primary works of Ann Radcliffe, Mary Wollstonecraft and Mary Shelley, this study investigates how these female writers work within the Gothic genre to explore issues related to the role of women in their society, in particular those concerned with sexual identity.
