Estudio interdisciplinario de Cultura literaria del Derecho («Derecho y Literatura») centrado en tres cuentos (La caída de la casa Usher, 1839, de E. A. Poe; Casa tomada, 1946, de J. Cortázar, y «La casa de Asterión», 1947, de J. L. Borges) donde el uso de la expresión «casa» se presenta como una metáfora edilicia desde cuya significancia constitucional el autor prueba a distinguir lo gótico, neogótico y fantástico-mítico del diseño y crisis constitucionales respectivamente del modelo monárquico de Constitución, de la Constitución Nacional de 1853 con la «Constitución peronista» de 1949, y de la Constitución de Weimar de 1919. En relación al periodo de crisis constitucional argentina derivado del llamado «Proceso de Reorganización Nacional» (Dictadura cívico-militar, 1976-1983) y en su contexto, también recupera el relato cortaziano «Segunda vez» (1976), planteando desde él no la rectificación de un modelo constructivo imperfecto o defectivo metafóricamente identificable con la «vivienda» constitucional de 1853 o la «Constitución peronista» de 1949, sino como diseño constructivo de vacío constitucional transfigurado en «casa de los horrores». El trabajo termina con una apelación a la «Cultura literaria del Derecho» como variante latina del «Law and Literature Movement» y la aspiración a provocar un sugestivo programa de lectura crítica en torno al proyecto Constitucionalismo y Literatura latinoamericana.

O objetivo deste trabalho é verificar quem foram os políticos paranaenses no período provincial, entre 1853, momento da emancipação política do Paraná, até a proclamação da República, em 1889 ‒ senadores, deputados gerais e deputados provinciais, num universo de 188 indivíduos, utilizando da metodologia proposta pela genealogia e prosopografia. Por meio das características comuns desses políticos, busca-se verificar um fenômeno descrito por Oliveira Viana (1949), existente no Brasil: a presença de “clãs parentais” que, por atuarem na política, formavam também os chamados “clãs eleitorais”. E, a partir dessa província específica, conclui-se que política era interesse de família no Brasil Império.

The native bee fauna of Mississippi, USA has been historically poorly sampled, but is of particular relevance to determine range limits for species that occur in the southern United States. Currently published literature includes 184 species of bees that occur within the state of Mississippi. Additions to the list of native bees known for Mississippi are reported with notes on range, ecology and resources for identification.The geographic ranges of seven additional species are extended into the state of Mississippi: Andrena (Melandrena) obscuripennis Smith, 1853,AnthemurguspassifloraeRobertson, 1902,Dieunomiabolliana(Cockerell 1910), Diadasia (Diadasia) enavata (Cresson 1872),Peponapiscrassidentata(Cockerell 1949),TriepeolussubnitensCockerell and Timberlake, 1929 andBrachynomadanimia(Snelling and Rozen 1987). These records raise the total number of published species known from the state to 191.AnthemurgusandBrachynomadaare also genera new to Mississippi.

Abstract:
The paper presents the results of the study and analysis of the epizootic process of anthrax among domestic animals in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from 1853 to 2020. The following indicators of the epizootic process were used in the analysis: incidence rate, mortality and lethality. The object of the study comprised written reports of veterinarians of Yakutsk region to the governor about outbreaks of anthrax among domestic animals and people, quarterly and annual reporting data on the incidence rate and mortality of domestic animals, as well as statistical data on the number of farm animals in the specified period. The highest intensive manifestation of the epizootic process in cattle and horses during the study period was noted in the period until the 40s of the XX century. From the mid-forties, incidence and mortality rates were dynamically declining. The epizootic process of reindeer was characterized by an increase until the end of the 40s (1949), whereas from the 50s to the end of the 70s there was a decrease in the incidence and mortality rates. From 1980 to 1986, another increase in the epizootic process was recorded in the reindeer husbandry, followed by a decrease. Lethality of cattle ranging from 5 to 70% occurred in the period of 1946-1976, horses – in 1945-1993, deer – in 1949-1993. In other adverse years, starting from the official registration of anthrax to the mid-40s (1944-1946), it reached 100%. Overall, intensive manifestation of the epizootic process of anthrax dynamically decreased in the second half of the study period, with the exception of reindeer, in which it increased in 1980–1986 with a subsequent decrease.

We present an overview of the International Neurological Congress that was held in Lisbon, Portugal, on September 7–12, 1953, the fifth in the series of meetings that became a tradition and helped to establish Neurology and Neurosurgery as independent medical specialties in the mid-twentieth century. Four main symposia focused on vascular and metabolic diseases of the brain and on the parietal lobe. An additional 345 papers were read on diverse topics. The Congress was attended by 982 delegates from 39 countries. A central figure was Egas Moniz (1874–1955), the pioneer of cerebral angiography, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1949 for applying prefrontal leukotomy to manage certain forms of psychosis. Special tributes were paid to Constantin von Monakow (1853–1930) and Santiago Ramón y Cajal (1852–1934) on the occasion of the centennial anniversary of their births. A satellite meeting was held in Madrid immediately after the Lisbon conference; speakers including John F. Fulton (1899–1960), Sir Walter Russell Brain (1895–1966) and Fernando de Castro (1896–1967) praised the discoveries of Cajal, the neuron theory, and their impact on the medical sciences and on the future of Neurology.

Abstract. Climate reconstructions provide important insight into past climate variability and help us to understand the large-scale climate drivers and impact of climate change. However, our knowledge about long-term year-to-year climate variability is still limited due to the lack of high-resolution reconstructions. Here, we present the first precipitation reconstructions based on tree rings from Pinus koraiensis (Korean pine) from three sites placed along a latitudinal (330 km) gradient in the Sikhote-Alin' mountains in the Russian Far East. The tree-ring width chronologies were built using standard tree-ring procedures. We reconstructed the April–June precipitation for the southern Sikhote-Alin' (SSA), March–June precipitation for the central Sikhote-Alin' (CSA) and March–July precipitation for the northwestern Sikhote-Alin' (NSA) over the years 1602 to 2013, 1804 to 2009 and 1858 to 2013, respectively. We found that an important limiting factor for Korean pine growth was precipitation within the period when the air current coming from the continent during the cold period is replaced with the impact of the wet ocean air current. We identified that common wet years for SSA, CSA and NSA occurred in 1805, 1853, 1877, 1903, 1906, 1927, 1983 and 2009 and common dry years occurred in 1821, 1869, 1919, 1949 and 2003. Our reconstructions have 3-, 15- and 60-year periods, which suggests the influence of the El Niño–Southern Oscillation and Pacific Decadal Oscillation on the region's climate and relevant processes. Despite the impact of various global processes, the main contribution to precipitation formation in the study area is still made by the Pacific Ocean, which determines their amount and periodicity.

The very rich material of Palaearctic Pamphagidae preserved in the collections including the type specimens of all taxa, the historical unidentified specimens and newly collected material have been studied. 58 genera and 295 species and subspecies are listed. The higher classification of the family is reviewed mainly based on the male phallic complex as well as the traditional and some new external characters. The tribe Haplotropiidini is transferred to the subfamily Thrinchinae. Previously synonymized subfamily Tropidaucheninae is validated as an independent tribe of Pamphaginae. The tribe Nocarodeini is taxonomically reviewed except the genus Bufonocarodes Mistshenko. The male phallic complex is also used as one of the main characters in decisions of the genus group taxa. The following 10 genera are synonymized: Pseudotmethis Bey-Bienko, 1948 and Paratmethis Zheng & He, 1996 (with Filchnerella Karny, 1908), Sinotmethis Bey-Bienko, 1959 and Kanotmethis Yin, 1994 (with Beybienkia Tsyplenkov, 1956), Paktia Pfadt, 1970 (with Mistshenkoella Cejchan, 1969), Pseudosavalania Demirsoy, 1973 (with Paranocarodes I. Identification keys for subfamilies, tribes and genera (except the N. African and European genera of Pamphagini) and for each level of the tribe Nocarodeini are prepared. This study is also a review of the Pamphagidae species of Turkey. Therefore all Turkish species are studied in detail except the two genera recently revised by the author, Glyphotmethis Bey-Bienko and Asiotmethis Uvarov. Geographically this paper includes all Pamphagidae species of the following countries and regions: Bulgaria, Turkey, Cyprus, Syria, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, Armenia, Georgia, Nakhichevan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Greece (except one species), Lebanon (except two species), Arabian Peninsula (except one species), Afghanistan (except some Saxetania) and Iran (except some Saxetania and Tropidauchen). In addition, 848 original figures including 10 distributional maps are provided.

Abstract:
The genus Brueelia Kéler, 1936a forms the core of the so-called “Brueelia-complex”, one of the largest and most heterogeneous groups of lice (Phthiraptera). Here we introduce the taxonomic history and present a revision of this group. The limits of the Brueelia-complex are discussed. We resurrect the genera Acronirmus Eichler, 1953, Corvonirmus Eichler, 1944, Guimaraesiella Eichler, 1949, Maculinirmus Złotorzycka, 1964a, Meropsiella Conci, 1941a, Olivinirmus Złotorzycka, 1964a, Osculonirmus Mey, 1982a, Rostrinirmus Złotorzycka, 1964a, Traihoriella Ansari, 1947, and Turdinirmus Eichler, 1951. The name Olivinirmus paraffinis nom. nov. is proposed as a replacement for the preoccupied Brueelia affinis Carriker, 1963. We place 23 names in synonymy, and we consider 6 species as incertae sedis, 2 names as nomina nuda, and transfer 14 species names to genera not belonging to the Brueelia-complex. We redescribe and illustrate most of the type species of the genera or subgenera included in this revision. Keys to genera, subgenera, and species groups are given, together with updated louse-host and host-louse checklists for 426 species of lice currently placed in the Brueelia-complex, including 183 new host-louse records.

Abstract:
This chapter studies presidential term limits in Argentina. It connects the term limit question to the context of regime instability that prevailed between 1930 and 1983 on the one hand, and to the expansive way in which democratically elected presidents have interpreted their constitutional powers on the other. The presidential term limit rule enshrined in the constitutional text of 1853—six-year terms with possible reelection after an interim period—remained unchanged for almost a century, until President Juan Perón’s constitutional reform of 1949 approved indefinite presidential reelection, which allowed Perón to become reelected immediately. However, the regime instability prevailing after 1930 de facto shortened the term of (elected and unelected) presidents until re-democratization in 1983. Regime stability was then recovered, though presidential instability persisted. The constitutional term limit rule—two consecutive (four-year) presidential terms, then an interim period—adopted by consensus in the constitutional reform of 1994, remains stable.
