Abstract:
Vollenhoven (1864) presented a preliminary report and subsequently (Vollenhoven 1865) a detailed description of a new genus of pentatomoid true bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), Poseidon Vollenhoven, 1864, with a single included species, P. malayanus Vollenhoven, 1864; the species is therefore the type species of the genus by monotypy. The genus was placed into Scutelleridae by Vollenhoven (1864, 1865), but the latter taxon was defined broadly, in a way much different from the current concept of this family (see e.g. Rider et al. 2017); Stål (1876) transferred it into Plataspidae defined in the present sense. Bergroth (1891) showed that Poseidon was preoccupied by Poseidon Girard, 1825, a valid genus of ribbon worms (Nemertea), and therefore he proposed a replacement name, Cronion Bergroth, 1891, for it. Miller (1955) described another new plataspid genus, Triodocoris Miller, 1955, and designated the newly described T. cinctus Miller, 1955, as its type species. Both of these genera have remained monotypic, and no author have presented new data on them since their original descriptions.

Abstract:
Two hundred and eighteen taxa of the genus Agrilus (Coleoptera, Buprestidae) mostly from the Palaearctic and Oriental regions are studied and their taxonomic, nomenclatural, distributional or biological data are updated. For some species, the biological information is supplemented by images from the field, or distributional data by maps showing the whole range of the species. The synonymy of following Agrilus is updated: A. blairi Bourgoin, 1925 (A. telawensis Fisher, 1935 syn. nov.); A. lancifer Deyrolle, 1864 (A. perakianus Kerremans, 1900 syn. nov.); A. lestagei Théry, 1930 (A. collartianus Descarpentries & Villiers, 1963 syn. nov.); A. lugubris Kerremans, 1914 (A. achilleus Obenberger, 1935 syn. nov.); A. ocularis Deyrolle, 1864 (A. capitatus Deyrolle, 1864 syn. nov.), A. bidentellus Obenberger, 1924 syn. nov.) and Agrilus velatus Kerremans, 1912 (A. kuchingensis Tôyama, 1987 syn. nov.). The invalid synonyms A. myrmido Kerremans, 1912; A. myrmidonius Obenberger, 1936 and A. miwai Théry, 1936 are moved from the synonymy of A. achilleus Obenberger, 1935 to synonymy of A. lugubris Kerremans, 1914. A. massanensis Schaefer, 1955 is downgraded to subspecies A. pratensis massanensis Schaefer, 1955 status nov. The specific name samyi Baudon, 1968 is resurrected from the synonymy of A. suturaalba Deyrolle, 1864 and revalidated as Agrilus samyi Baudon, 1968 (nomen revalidatum).

Abstract:
The fourteenth-century wall-painting in the church of St Hubert, Idsworth, Hampshire, have attracted repeated attention since their initial discovery in 1864. This is, of course, partly a reflection of their artistic quality—both E. W. Tristram (1955, 89) and David Lloyd (Pevsner and Lloyd 1967, 307) referred to their liveliness and vigour and the exceptional quality of their design—but clearly also reflects the difficulties art historians have found in providing a convincing interpretation of their iconographic programme.

Abstract:

Abstract:
A key for identification for the 54 South American genera of Acanthocinini (Cerambycidae, Lamiinae) without erect setae on the elytra is provided. Diagnosis for each genus is provided, as well as type-locality and geographical distribution of the type species, and of the transferred species. Cristurges Gilmour, 1961 is considered a junior synonymy of Lophopoeum Bates, 1863. Ozineus Bates, 1863 is considered a genus that includes only the type species, Ozineus elongatus Bates, 1863 because it is the only species with erect setae on the elytral surface. Sternacutus Gilmour, 1961 is revalidated to include the species transferred from Ozineus. Nyssocuneus Gilmour, 1960 and Nyssodrysina Casey, 1913 are synonymized with Atrypanius Bates, 1864. Nyssodrysina Casey, 1913 is also considered a junior synonymy of Atrypanius. Nyssodectes Dillon, 1955 is considered junior synonymy of Stenolis Bates, 1864. Lepturguncus (Lepturguncus) Gilmour, 1961 is synonymized with Pattalinus Bates, 1881. Lepturdrys Gilmour, 1960 is considered a junior synonymy of Eucharitolus Bates, 1885. Lepturguncus (Chaeturguncus) is removed from the synonym of Pattalinus and considered a junior synonym of Paroecus Bates, 1863. The country of the type-locality of Oxathridia roraimae Gilmour, 1963 is corrected. The genus of Neseuterpia couturieri Tavakilian, 2001 is questioned. Additionally, the following genera omitted in the key by Monné et al. (2020) are listed and included in their previous key: Ozineus Bates, 1863; Paroecus Bates, 1863; Pseudosparna Mermudes & Monné, 2009; Probatiomimus Melzer, 1926; and Calolamia Tippmann, 1953. Paroectropsis Cerda, 1953 is transferred to Desmiphorini.

Abstract:
Rove beetles of the genus Piestus Gravenhorst, 1806 are commonly captured under the bark of or inside decaying logs from Neotropical forests. Piestus belongs to the subfamily Piestinae, historically an ill-defined dumping-ground for Staphylinidae defined by plesiomorphic characters, but which has gradually been restricted in concept and currently includes only six additional extant genera worldwide. Piestinae in this restricted sense has been considered a probably monophyletic subfamily, but its status and phylogenetic position, as a possible sister-group of Osoriinae within the recently proposed Oxyteline group of staphylinid subfamilies, are uncertain and need confirmation. The main aim of the present study was to provide a morphological cladistic analysis and complete taxonomic revision of Piestus, which, as the type and most speciose genus of Piestinae, is critical for future phylogenetic studies involving the subfamily. In our study, the monophyly of Piestus is established and phylogenetic relationships among its species are proposed based on 70 adult morphological characters. Piestus is supported by 11 synapomorphies and high branch support. All species of Piestus are revised and the genus is redefined. The genus contains 43 species, including 13 species described here for the first time. The previously proposed subgenera Antropiestus Bernhauer, 1917, Eccoptopiestus Scheerpeltz, 1952, Elytropiestus Scheerpeltz, 1952, Lissopiestus Scheerpeltz, 1952, Piestus s. str., Trachypiestus Scheerpeltz, 1952 and Zirophorus Dalman, 1821 have not been confirmed, as they were found to be poly- or paraphyletic, or are here removed from Piestus, and therefore subgenera are not used. The main taxonomic changes are as follows. Lissopiestus, syn. nov. is proposed as new synonym of Eleusis Laporte, 1835 and its species, E. interrupta (Erichson, 1840), comb. rest., is transferred again to that genus. Antropiestus, syn. nov. and Eccoptopiestus, syn. nov. are proposed as new synonyms of Hypotelus Erichson, 1839 and their species, H. laevis (Solsky, 1872), comb. nov. and H. andinus (Bernhauer, 1917), comb. nov., are transferred to Hypotelus. Fourteen new synonymies are proposed (valid species listed first): P. lacordairei Laporte, 1835 = Z. furcatus Sharp, 1887, syn. nov.; P. capricornis Laporte, 1835 = P. frontalis Sharp, 1876, syn. nov.; P. pennicornis Fauvel, 1864 = P. plagiatus Fauvel, 1864, syn. nov.; P. rectus Sharp, 1876, syn. nov.; P. pygialis Fauvel, 1902, syn. nov.; P. surinamensis Bernhauer, 1928, syn. nov.; P. minutus Erichson, 1840 = P. nigrator Fauvel, 1902, syn. nov.; P. sulcatus Gravenhorst, 1806 = P. sanctaecatharinae Bernhauer, 1906, syn. nov.; P. condei Wendeler, 1955, syn. nov.; P. gounellei Fauvel, 1902 = P. wasmanni Fauvel, 1902, syn. nov.; P. mexicanus Laporte, 1835 = P. alternans Sharp, 1887, syn. nov.; P. aper Sharp, 1876 = P. schadei Scheerpeltz, 1952, syn. nov.; P. angularis Fauvel, 1864 = P. crassicornis Sharp, 1887, syn. nov.; H. andinus (Bernhauer, 1917) = P. strigipennis Bernhauer, 1921, syn. nov. One species is revalidated: P. fronticornis (Dalman, 1821), stat. rev., and one synonym is restored: P. penicillatus (Dalman, 1821) = P. erythropus Erichson, 1840, syn. rest. Neotypes are designated for P. lacordairei Laporte, 1835 and Oxytelus bicornis Olivier, 1811, and lectotypes are designated for P. puncticollis Fauvel, 1902, P. capricornis variety muticus Fauvel, 1902, P. zischkai Scheerpeltz, 1951, P. pennicornis Fauvel, 1864, P. plagiatus Fauvel, 1864, P. pygmaeus Laporte, 1835, P. niger Fauvel 1864, P. minutus Erichson, 1840, P. nigratror Fauvel, 1902, P. sulcatus Gravenhorst, 1806, P. sanctaecatharinae Bernhauer, 1906, P. sulcipennis Scheerpeltz, 1952, P. aper Sharp, 1876, P. schadei Scheerpeltz, 1952 and P. andinus Bernhauer, 1917.

Abstract:
A comparative study of max weber, joseph schumpeter and jose ortega y gasset reveals that all three were preoccupied by the evolution of the modern world and the future of western civilization. Their uneasiness specifically addresses the paroxystic development of modern enterprises. Bourgeois capitalism, individual progress or entrepreneurship and liberal democracy seem unlikely to survive the new conditions that their own progress contribute to diffuse and, progressively, to impose. Nothing guarantees that societies will be able to continue to benefit from competition, brought about by technical and organizational progress, which mankind seems increasing unable to understand and control. For weber, schumpeter and ortega, modernity does not emerge as an inoffensive "inheritance" : the progressive rationalization, bureaucratization, massification and specialization of the world that our thesis underscores represent, in the discourse of these three authors, the new conditions that accompany the development of modern capitalist societies. These conditions, as on-going processes, menace social practices with an excessive "petrification" and mecanization. This explains the pessimism of the three authors in relation to western capitalist civilization, which they associate, often in ideal-type fashion, with exemplary individual behavior which is henceforth threatened by the rationalization and the objectivation of social spheres of activity : creative minorities for ortega, the heroic entrepreneur for schumpeter and the individual prompted by a "calling" for weber

Abstract:
José Ortega y Gasset experiences his first philosophical crisis around 1911, forcing him to return to Marburg. As a consequence, he enters into a period of progressive abandonment of neo-kantian idealism and moves toward Phenomenology. During his time in Germany, either by the influence of Hartmann or Scheler or both, he becomes interested in the problem/question of "life”. In 1913 he reads Jacob von Uexküll where he finds the support necessary on the one hand, to consider life as a radical reality, impossible to define and perceived/understood by intuition alone. On the other hand, with the concept of Umwelt-already being used by Scheler- Ortega had the opportunity to overcome idealistic subjectivism, developing the concept of circumstance. In this way, the subject of philosophy ceases to be the thinking man and becomes man and his circumstances, the living man. During the periods spanning between 1911-1914 to 1927-1930– the time of a new crisis– Ortega finds themes/organises and develops the arguments of Uexküll, contemplating perspective, circumstance, man. All of which allows us to frame him within the broad spectrum of the Lebensphilosophie movement. My work has focused on this period, not only considering the evolution of various key topics of the Ortegian philosophy, but particularly focusing on the different influences, direct or indirect, by authors such as Nietzsche, Bergson, Simmel, Scheler, Hartmann, Husserl, Natorp, Köhler, von Uexkull, Plessner and, at the end of the period, Heidegger, showing that our author is fully integrated in the European philosophical current of his time. Throughout the course of the study, we will try to examine the emergence of the ambitious project of vital reason, his efforts to overcome relativism and his own ambition, flawed at the time, to build a system based on the radical reality of life.

Abstract:
This research work is aimed at updating the places of writing where come to be embodied the elements of textual voice. The called tools of analysis for the approach textual voice within these three works are various. In traditional terms, they could be lined up in the broad category of stylistic, on the condition of hearing this last as the eclectic grouping of phenomena being recovering from a synergy between the linguistic mechanisms, of enunciation, of narration, of semio-pragmatic, of rhetoric and graphic format of speech, notably by means of punctuation. Our postulate it is that textual voice results precisely from a synergy, from a conglomerate of phenomena, which seem insulated at first but in reality “make system” within a given speech

Riu, de Martín Mª del Carmen. "Reflexión estético-política en torno a Unamuno, Ortega y D'Ors, Una." Doctoral thesis, Universitat de Barcelona, 1990. http://hdl.handle.net/10803/1760.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The concept of rationalization of parliamentarism is nowadays part of the significant concepts of the French public Law. Everything seems to be said about the techniques of rationalization established by the constitution in 1958. However, we are forced to notice that the rationalization concept remains badly knows. Invented at the end of the twenties by the jurist Boris Mirkine-Guetzévitch to describe the dynamic of constitutionalization in action in the new eastern and central Europe states, just afeter the first World war, the concept of rationalization of parlementarism results from the general concept of rationalization of the authority which refers to the idea of a society entirely ruled by law. What are the sources of inspiration of the rationalization concept? How are converged its presence and its development int the french constitutional thought from the thirties up to now? To dust the concept of rationalization of the authority implies to identify its theorical basis and determine its ideological impact. The study of the acclimatatization of the mirkinian concept (as well as its underlying ideology and its techniques of realization) allows to underline the adaptations and reinterpretations it has been the subject in harmony with the main juridical thought and the great trends of positive law

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract This chapter begins by studying Fernández de Lizardi’s (1776–1827) novel El Periquillo Sarniento (The Mangy Parrot, 1816), considered the first Mexican novel. The twentieth century opens with Santa (1903) by Federico Gamboa (1864–1939), borrowing from realist and naturalist styles. A watershed moment in the country’s history was the Mexican Revolution. Its violence and failure inspired novels by Mariano Azuela (1873–1952), among others. Two masterpieces published in 1955, Agustín Yáñez’s (1904–1980) Al filo del agua (The Edge of the Storm, 1955) and Juan Rulfo’s (1917–1986) Pedro Páramo (1955), open the era of the modern novel in Mexico. The mid-century generation modernized Mexican fiction by moving away from regional themes with works by Carlos Fuentes (1928–2012), and Elena Garro (1916–1998), among others. The 1960s in Mexico were marked by the 1968 Tlatelolco massacre, a moment of change expressed in the novels of La onda (The Wave), by José Agustín (1944) and Gustavo Sáinz (1940–2015). In the 1970s, Luis Zapata’s (1951–2020) El vampiro de la colonia Roma (Adonis García: a Picaresque Novel 1979) became a milestone in Mexican homosexual literature. In the 1980s, Fernando del Paso’s (1935–2018) Noticias del Imperio (News from the Empire, 1986) revisits the period of Emperor Maximilian in a masterful historical novel. Another important 1990s movement is the Generación del Crack (Generation of the Crack). Notwithstanding Mexico City’s magnetic pull, writers from the north of Mexico also write from or about the marginal “provinces.” The chapter closes by looking at a talented group of women writers, such as Fernanda Melchor (1982-) and Valeria Luiselli (1983).
