Lopholejeunea (Stephani 1890: 285) is a pantropical genus with 42 species and one variety (Söderström et al., 2016), of which 12 species have been recorded from Madagascar (Marline et al., 2012). The endemic Australian leaf beetle genus Cheiloxena Baly, 1860 is revised, with eight valid species, three new: C. aitori sp. nov.; C. blackburni Reid, 1992; C. conani sp. nov.; C. frenchae Blackburn, 1893; C. insignis Blackburn, 1896; C. monga sp. nov.; C. tuberosa Reid, 1992; C. westwoodii Baly, 1860. A key is provided for their identification and all species are described. Cheiloxena species occur from southern Victoria to central Queensland. Hosts are Araliaceae (Astrotricha), Proteaceae (Lomatia) and possibly Myrtaceae (Eucalyptus).

The land snails collected by the ‘Comisión Científica del Pacifíco’ (CCP), a Spanish expedition to South and Central America from 1862–1866, are restudied and revised. The historical context of the expedition and the study of its collected material are described. Biographical data is given for the main persons involved. The land snails were previously studied by Joaquin Hidalgo between 1867 and 1893. A total of 3,470 specimens belonging to 211 species are treated in this paper. In the course of phylogenetic investigations across Rotifera, we reinvestigated Proales sigmoidea (Skorikov, 1896) and found significant similarities with respect to its morphology, ecology and behaviour to Pleurotrocha petromyzon (Ehrenberg, 1830). Both species feed on stalked ciliates and show a similar habitus as well as similar virgate trophi. We here present new morphological details for both species based on light and electron micrographs. Species-level taxonomy and phylogeny of two genera of South-East (SE) Asian pachybolid millipedes are analysed with a combination of morphological characters and DNA sequences (two mitochondrial gene fragments: COI and 16S rRNA). Strong support is found for the genera Litostrophus Chamberlin, 1921 and Atopochetus Attems, 1953 and for a clade consisting of Litostrophus + Atopochetus.
