Abstract:

Abstract:

The intellectuals of the ionian islands develop their activities especially in italy, constantinople, danubian princedoms and russia. From the end of the 15th century we find them in venice as copists, calligraphs and manuscripts-merchants. Then they work only for the book. From the second half of the 17th century we find them not only in italy but also in east as teachers, doctors, predicators. The adventures, the desire of new experiences and knowledge are the principal characteristics of their personnality. After having studied in the italian universities and especially in padova they tried to introduce in east the new ideas. About the end of the 18th century they decide to live in their islands, when the situation is ameliorated. Till then they were there for a short while. The intellectuals of the ionian islands have participated to the spiritual renaissance of greeks

Abstract:
This study is about Grandmont and its economic development from the XIth century to its suppression, in 1772. Eremitism, equality between clerks and lay brethren prevailed until politics played a part with the arrival of the Plantagenets in la Marche. Coenobitism and expansion developed from the 1180s onwards, despite crises and wars. Rent books highlight the social and economic aspects of the Grandmontine seigniory, which imposed a social status, levied taxes and tithes and administered justice. Both temporalities and agriculture (métayage) evolved according to economic need. The archives reveal life in the shadow of Grandmont and its houses, the material success of the Order which finally causes its ruin. Even if it could comfort generations of people thanks to the spiritual help it provided, the Grandmontine world was not only monastic. It was an ecclesiastical seigniory aware of the seigniorial management of each period

Abstract:
In cephalonia, under the venitian rule, we can observe a considerable development of monastery foundations, in relation, as we believe, with the successfull reconstitution of the local orthodox church as a consequence an important number of lands which was absorbed by the monasteries , created an obstacle for the extention of the private landed property. The study is aimed to describe the processes which gave existence to monasteries in their historical and institutional frame, and also to research the mode of constitution their landed property; in a seconde moment we examme their economical function as cultivated system related to the consuming and to the market

With the notion of syntax introduced by the grammarians of port-royal and exploited by the 18th century philosophical grammarians, the adverbial category acquires its own meaning and becomes distinguished from the adverbial function. Abstract:
In this chapter, we guide you through the final stages of completing your written work. Too often novice writers skip this vital stage of writing, thinking that their earlier drafts and revisions are sufficient. But experienced writers know that one last careful review is needed to assure the highest quality of work possible. By the end of this chapter, you will be able to do the following: ■Identify the different features of effective writing ■ Examine your written work from various perspectives ■ Take systematic steps to improve the quality of your writing ■ Finalize your written work so that it meets the expectations of your target audience As you work through the chapter, the Revising and Editing on Your Own tasks will guide you as you do the following: 18A Prepare to finalize your work 18B Check organization 18C Verify follow-through 18D Eliminate redundancy 18E Maximize conciseness 18F Check tense and voice 18G Correct common errors 18H Review science content 18I Reconfirm adherence to external guidelines 18J Check formatting and overall appearance By the time you consult this chapter, you have most likely revised and edited your work countless times. You have written separate sections, modified them, and then merged them, altering your writing throughout the process in an attempt to fit all the pieces together seamlessly. You have probably lost count of all the changes, large and small, that you have made (or been asked to make) in an effort to perfect your writing. Indeed, for most writers, more time is spent rewriting than writing. In this chapter, we ask you to look again at your written work, but this time as an entire document. Rather than write and rewrite section by section, we ask you to take a step back and reflect on your work as a whole. The goal is to achieve a coherent and fluent piece of writing that reads well from start to finish. To facilitate this process, we have created a checklist of nine items (listed below). We present each item and ask you to review your entire work from the perspective of this item, making changes and improvements as needed.
