Abstract:

Abstract:
ABSTRACT; This dissertation aims to better know the implementation process of the Santas Casas de Misericórdia in Brazil, highlighting their expansion during the Republic, mainly between 1922 and 1945. For a better historical contextualization the study explores the Brazil's colonial and imperial phases, demonstrating that the Misericórdias progressively strength their power in the medical assistance segment, becoming the State dependent of their activities. The dissertation also discusses the philanthropy and charity's collective social imagery, as well as the way in which such concepts shaped the medico-social assistance in the country.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The interest on fascism in Scandinavia and Finland is due to the importance that Nazism gave to the ‘nordic race’, its mythology and its cultural heritage. Fascism did not become very popular in the Nordic countries and it did not achieve power anywhere (the only exception was the case of Vidkun Quisling). This study, focused on Italian and German cultural propaganda in the Nordic countries, could show us that fascism was a global and transnational doctrine with diverse reformulations or ramifications. Therefore, this research could also be useful to the analysis of Mussolini’s struggle against Nazi political and cultural influence in the Nordic area. Organisations and associations like the Società Dante Alighieri (Dante Alighieri Society) and the Nordische Gesellschaft (Nordic Society), embodied the cultural comparison between the trope of Rome and the Germanic Weltanschauung. Moreover, the matter of race broke the network of the European right-wing groups and brought the failure of the ‘Fascist International’ dream. Consequently, the contradiction between the Latin and the Nordic interpretations of the world, made the Italo-German alliance fragile and inefficient.

Samblancat, Miranda Neus.

Abstract:
Historical and thematical study, in three volumes, of the fiction works published between 1922 and 1945 by the journalist, politician and writer Angel Samblancat Salanova (Graus, 1885 - Mexico, 1963). The basis of the research is the analysis of the political and social thought of the author, based on the non-published manuscripts and their projection on his fiction works. The research is complemented with a presentation of the non published novel Chamaca, written in Mexico in the fifties. The analysis of the narrative codes of the author, and its relationshop with his ideology and his aesthetics drives us to interpret and value the novels written by A.Samblancat as a narrative set historically ingrained. Because of its protesting function, the group of novels are very close to social parables around the fight for freedom and justice, a unifying theme in the works of the author. A.Samblancat is able to fix in the collective memory a thought and a set of values that transcend immediate information in a work that, with a special use of language and formal style (symbolism of colour and fire, evangelic antroponomy, parodic toponomy, typology of characters and rethorical persusssion) acquires a permanent revolutionary value. In addition, the author merges in his literary work a federal and "costista" solution to the Spanish problem and its model of state, as well as a chorus of libertarian voices around the emancipation of women.

Abstract:
After describing the heterodox practice of reading of the early years. Michaux's meeting with Christian mysticism and natural science, I then intend to stress the importance of his often neglected literary debut (1922-1927), through a diachronic study. Between 1927 and 1945, a diversified writing of the self, refusing pathos and autobiographic confidence, means to be a transcription of the inner experience through any possible literary genre, and draws a diffracted self-portrait in the stories, travel books and poems. In the meantime, a poetics of expatriation is trying to find its own original way. Confronted with the monsters of history during the war, it will take new forms. In this study, I’ve paid particular attention to the rare and only once published texts, to the letters and aborted projects

Abstract:
The Brasilian writer Oswald de Andrade (1890-1954), journalist, poetry, dramatist and novelist, published seven novels, from 1922 to 1945.
