Abstract:

LAMBKIN, KEVIN J. "Revision of the Hylicellidae of the Late Triassic of Queensland (Hemiptera: Cicadomorpha: Hylicelloidea)." Zootaxa 4790, no. 3 (June 12, 2020): 525–39. http://dx.doi.org/10.11646/zootaxa.4790.3.7.

Full text
Abstract:
This extinct cicadomorphan family Hylicellidae was a significant element of the Late Triassic (Norian) hemipteran fauna of south-eastern Queensland, represented by the tegmina of five monotypic genera from the fossil insect localities at Mount Crosby, Denmark Hill and Dinmore. Of the five, Mesothymbris Evans, 1956, from Mount Crosby, has previously been re-examined. The present work revises the remaining four genera: Hylicella Evans, 1956, with Hylicella colorata Evans, 1956, Mount Crosby; Crosbella Evans, 1956 (= Mesocicadella Evans, 1956, syn. nov.), with Crosbella elongata Evans, 1956 (= Crosbella alata Evans, 1956, syn. nov. = Mesocicadella venosa Evans, 1956, syn. nov. = Mesocicadella punctata Evans, 1961, syn. nov.), Mount Crosby; Triassoscelis Evans, 1956, with Triassoscelis anomala Evans, 1956, Mount Crosby; and Mesocixiodes Tillyard, 1922, with Mesocixiodes termioneura Tillyard, 1922 (= Mesocixiodes brachyclada Tillyard, 1922, syn. nov.), Denmark Hill, Dinmore. The Hylicellidae remains poorly defined as is its generic composition, however, the four Queensland Triassic genera are quite distinct. Hylicella is distinguished by the partial fusion of CuA1 with M3+4, and the very large intra-medial cell, and Crosbella and Triassoscelis by the peculiar parallelogram-like CuA1 cell and the widened peripheral membrane at CuA. Triassoscelis differs from Crosbella in its broader, more squat wing shape, CuA fork in line rather than proximal to the M fork, and much less proliferated apical venation. Mesocixiodes is distinguished by the alignment of the crossvein field at the claval apex to form a fairly even series of long, sub-equal apical cells. On the basis of the proliferated and variable apical venation, the presence of weakly developed costal veinlets, and the fusion of M and CuA at a single point to close the basal cell, Crosbella and Triassoscelis, are ascribed to the subfamily Vietocyclinae. The relationships of the three other Queensland genera, Hylicella, Mesocixiodes, and Mesothymbris remain obscure, and they are retained in the undefined catch-all subfamily Hylicellinae. With the exception of the hindwing, Mesojassula marginata Evans, 1956, the revision of the cicadomorphan fauna of the Mount Crosby Formation is now complete, resulting in an inventory of five species of Dysmorphoptilidae, four of Hylicellidae and two of Archijassidae, with the dysmorphoptilid Dysmorphoptiloides elongata Evans, 1956, as the dominant species.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Luciano Kulczewski was a professional who played a key and distinctive role in the first half of the 20th century, a period considered as crucial for the development of Chilean architecture, since it is the moment that brought the advent of modernity to the country. One of the most eloquent illustrations in this regard is the corpus, that collects more than a dozen housing complexes aimed for the middle and the working classes. Today, we recognize in these solutions not just the fact that they are in sync with the web of social, political, cultural, and economic processes that characterized the beginnings of the past century in Chile, but that they also have, among their most notable merits, having been conceived in terms of what we would understand today by “inclusion”. This article seeks to investigate these parameters, which range from urban proposals - that approached the city in "inclusive" terms - inasmuch as they did not push for these housing proposals to be in the metropolitan peripheries - to more particular issues, such as the stylistic management of homes as a tool to serve identity causes, in order to achieve the integration of the user with their environment.

ABSTRACT In order to solve the affinities of the species of Isotes Weise, 1922, a detailed morphological comparative study was carried out based on type-species of Isotes and its junior synonym,Synbrotica Bechyné, 1956. Isotes tetraspilota (Baly, 1865) and Isotes borrei (Baly, 1889) had their morphology of mouthparts, endosternites, wings and both male and female genitalia compared by the first time. A new synonymy is established between Isotes borrei (Baly, 1889) and Isotes crucigera (Weise, 1916) syn. nov. based on external and genitalia morphology. New structures for Section Diabroticites Chapuis, 1875 are presented and discussed.

Don Patinkin (1922-95) was a co-author of the Keynesian neoclassical synthesis, and became engaged in several important controversies. One of them involved Milton Friedman's (1956) assertion about a supposed Chicago quantity theory “oral tradition.” From 1968 until his death, Patinkin hardly seemed to miss an opportunity of denigrating what he regarded as Friedman's “invention.” This controversy was taken to the 1970 American Economic Association (AEA) meeting by Harry Johnson (1971), and divided at least two economics departments, Chicago and the University of Western Ontario, where Patinkin and Johnson were frequent visitors, and where two influential monetarists, David Laidler and Michael Parkin, had migrated from Britain (Parkin, 1986; Patinkin, 1986).

Abstract:
This article analyzes Herbert C. Hoover's translation of the De Re Metallica (1956) in the context of the 1922 Mine Strikes. The De Re Metallica combines practical instruction in mining techniques with a philosophical justification of the practice of mining. In Book I of the De Re Metallica, Agricola consciously constructs a rationalized science of metallurgy and mineralogy to enable expert miners to profit in a risky enterprise. Analysis of the text thus reveals that Hoover's interest in Agricola's “intellectual achievements” may have been more than technical. The economical and political assumptions that drive Agricola's arguments—justification of mining as a profit-making enterprise, his notions that accidents occur because workers are careless, and his rhetorical use of the notion of scientific expertise—framed many of the early twentieth century debates between mine operators and union organizers. In revisioning Agricola's arguments in the context of Hoover's own Principles of Mining and his statements in the 1922 Mine Crisis, this article demonstrates how technical documents reflect the political ideologies of their writers and how political arguments presented as purely technical debates shape the uses and construction of future technologies.

Abstract:
Euryphyminae is a Southern African endemic subfamily, which to date consists of 23 genera. We collected all available information from historic literature accounts, 626 positively identified museum specimens from 16 genera and 624 fresh field-collected specimens from eight genera to review the Euryphyminae genera of South Africa. Three genera are recorded for the first time to occur in South Africa; Rhodesiana Dirsh, 1959, Acrophymus Uvarov, 1922 and Plegmapteropsis Dirsh, 1956, while Aneuryphymus rhodesianus species is also recorded for the first time in South Africa. This brings the total number of genera occurring in South Africa from 14 to 16 genera of Euryphyminae. Finally, distribution maps for each genus are provided along with an updated key to genera.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The first (so-called) lambda transition in solids was found in the specific heat measurements for NH4Cl at 242 K by F. Simon in 1922 [Simon (1922). Ann. Phys. 68, 241–280]. Analogous phenomena found in many other solids gave rise to doubts (expressed most clearly by A. R. Ubbelohde some 50 years ago) about the applicability of classical thermodynamics to some phase transitions [Ubbelohde (1956). Brit. J. Appl. Phys. 7, 313–321]. However, Y. Mnyukh's studies of enantiotropic phase transitions in eight organic crystals showed that all proceed by a nucleation-and-growth mechanism [summarized in Mnyukh (2001), Fundamentals of Solid State Phase Transitions, Ferromagnetism and Ferroelectricity. 1st Books]. Nucleation is localized at defects in the parent phase; growth can be epitaxic and oriented if parent and daughter phases have closely similar structures, or random (not oriented) if there are substantial structural differences. This conclusion is supported by a critical review of Mnyukh's eight examples and other results published in the interim. It seems that Ubbelohde's invocation of `hybrid crystals' and `smeared transitions' can mostly be accounted for by lack of equilibrium in the phase-transition studies cited by him. However, the intermediate phase in 4,4′-dichlorobenzophenone appears to have structural resemblances to Ubbelohde's' `hybrid crystal'.

Abstract:
The Jegricka, once a natural watercourse traversing the southwestern part of the Backa region, has been turned into a canal, which became part of the main canal network of the hydro-system Danube-Tisza-Danube (Hs DTD). In its turn, the Hs DTD is part of the European waterway linking the North Sea to the Black Sea, i.e., part of the navigable Rhine-Main-Danube Canal. The watercourse is 65.4 km long and it is divided into three levels. The presence of the regulated and the nonregulated sections of the canal, frequent and abrupt changes in water level in the individual sections, different depths and surface water widths of the various sections and the fishpond constructed in the lower section cause considerable vegetation diversity. The vegetation comprises aquatic associations of the classes Hydrochari-Lemnetea Oberd. 1967 and Potametea Tx. et Prsg. 1942. The class Hydrochari-Lemnetea Oberd. 1967 includes the following phytocoenoses: Salvinio-Spirodeletum polyrrhizae Slavnic 1956, Ceratophylletum demersi (So? 27) Hild. 1956, Lemno-Utricularietum vulgaris So? 1928 and Hydrocharidetum morsus-ranae Van Langendonck 1935. Abstract:
Coral skeletal radiocarbon records reflect seawater ∆14C and are useful for reconstructing the history of water mass movement and ventilation in the tropical oceans. Here, we reconstructed the inter-annual variability in central equatorial Pacific surface water ∆14C from 1922–1956 using near-monthly 14C measurements in a Porites sp. coral skeleton (FI5A) from the windward side of Fanning Island (3°54′32′′N, 159°18'88′′W). The most pronounced feature in this record is a large, positive shift in the ∆14C between 1947 and 1956 that coincides with the switch of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) from a positive to a negative phase in the mid-1940s. Although the absolute ∆14C values from 1950–1955 in FI5A differ from the ∆14C values of another coral core collected from the opposite side of the island, both records show a large, positive shift in their ∆14C records at that time. The relative increase in the ∆14C of each record is consistent with the premise that a common mechanism is controlling the ∆14C records within each coral record. Overall, the Fanning ∆14C data support the notion that a significant amount of subtropical seawater is arriving at the Equator, but does not allow us to determine the mechanism for its transport.

Abstract:
Since the publication of Cagan's seminal contribution in 1956 and its further development by Sargent (1982) there has been a growing literature that seeks to explain German hyperinflation in terms of the monetary hypothesis. However, this article shows that the origins of this hyperinflation can be traced back to a sudden stop that occurred in the summer of 1922 at a time when expectations that the German economy would stabilise began to subside. The reversal of capital flows that took place in those months led in the short term to a dramatic depreciation of the mark, a significant increase in prices and a decline in output. This decline sparked bitter social conflict that fuelled a wage and price spiral. This spiral was accommodated by monetary authorities, leading in turn to explosive inflation.

Abstract This article explores the nature and causes of police violence in Condominium Sudan. It contends that rather than demonstrating the sheer strength of the British colonial state and its dhtance from Sudanese society, police violence provided evidence of its weakness, its limited technical capacity, and its general social porosity. The British administration was unable or unwilling to develop a systematically regulated and heavily institutionalized police force, and thus struggled to prevent the police being manipulated to serve the interests of particular ethnic, religious, or political factions. The technical fragility and limited resources of the police abo placed them in a position where they were forced to employ immediate and physical forms of coercion rather than more pervasive and indirect ones.

XX.

Abstract:
The author disputes Leder’s idea in Prześniona rewolucja. Ćwiczenie z logiki historycznej [A Missed Revolution: Exercise in Historical Logic] (2014) that a great revolution, eliminating the “late feudalism” of the 19th century, occurred in Poland in the years 1939–1956 and that it happened because of the war’s destruction of the old social structures and the Nazi genocide of the Jewish population, that is, the bourgeois class, which was replaced in the years 1945–1956 by unconscious beneficiaries of the change. The beneficiaries were unaware, he writes, because the essence of the changes and their benefits never entered the social imaginary. The core of the author’s polemic is the claim that such change, which was conducted by force and by foreigners, can not be called a “revolution,” that is, the passage of society to modernity. Furthermore, the author claims that the great Polish revolution was conducted in full by the nation, by the peasant classes, in the years 1914–1922, and was popular and independence-oriented in nature. It was the continuation of the Polish independence uprisings of the 19th century, the result of changes in the social structure that had been occurring for years in the Polish lands, which were at the time divided between the partitioning states, and of deepening self-awareness among the people. The revolution was continued after Poland’s acquisition of independence in 1918. The Second World War, and foreign intervention, only disrupted that process.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Introduction. Ectopic liver is a rare finding (Corsy, 1922; Kubota et al., 2007) that is usually discovered intraoperatively or during an autopsy (Bassis and Izenstark, 1956). Preoperative diagnosis of ectopic liver is also uncommon. The most common site of ectopic liver is on the gall bladder, although there are reports of other sites such as the adrenal glands and esophagus. The management of ectopic liver is en-bloc resection due to the high risk of hepatocellular carcinoma. Case Presentation. We describe the case of a 42-year-old female who presented with recurrent abdominal pain. She was found to have a smooth fragment of a reddish brown tissue attached to the anterior surface of the gallbladder during an elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The tissue was removed with the gallbladder, and histopathology showed normal ectopic liver tissue. Conclusion. Due to the possibility of malignant transformation into hepatocellular carcinoma, en-bloc resection is the choice of management.

Abstract:
This essay analyzes the view of evolution of Jan Lever (1922–2010), founder of the biology department at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and compares his view with those of J.H. Diemer and H. Dooyeweerd. Together with Dooyeweerd, Lever wrote a series of chapters on the species concept in Philosophia Reformata (1948–1950) in which species were defined as constant types. In his book, Creatie en Evolutie (1956), Lever still subscribed to Dooyeweerd’s philosophy but also suggested that it is possible that biological evolution occurred, including that of human beings, and that scientific research can shed light on these processes. Influenced by his idea of individuality structures, Dooyeweerd criticized Lever and suggested that species are constant; that science cannot speak to the topics that Lever discusses. It is argued that Dooyeweerd’s views are influenced by the typological thinking of the time and that reformational thought would benefit from de-emphasizing this aspect of reformational philosophy.

Abstract:
Abstract This introduction to the symposium on New Dominion constitutionalism sketches the legal configuration of New Dominion status and the intellectual context from which it emerged. Dominionhood originally represented a halfway house between colonial dependence and postcolonial independence, as developed in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. By contrast, New Dominion constitutionalism refers to the transitional constitutional form developed after World War I in Ireland (1922–1937)—the “Bridge Dominion”—and the post-World War II “New” Dominions of India (1947–1950), Pakistan (1947–1956), and Ceylon (later Sri Lanka, 1948–1972). New Dominion constitutionalism represents the first model designed to manage political transitions on a global scale. Both transitional and transnational, New Dominion constitutions served as a provisional frame of government and the juridical basis for the independent constitution. Although the notion of Dominion fell into disuse, it reemerged as the concept of Commonwealth Realm through which the majority of the remaining British colonies in Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean acquired independence.

Abstract:
«WHITE RUSSIAN» DOCTORS IN CYPRUS: THE FATE OF SIX GRADUATES OF KHARKOV IMPERIAL UNIVERSITY (PART II)Ağayev E., Rusanov C. The article discusses the fate of physicians who graduated the medical faculty of Kharkov University before 1917 and immigrated to Cyprus in 1920. For three of them the island became the second home. Apart from Pavel Smitten (we described his biography in the first part of the article), physicians Mark Freiman and Boris Vroblevskiy decided to live and work in Cyprus. The former had medical practice there, though in Kharkov he was engaged in real estate and became famous due to excavations of the city catacombs. Vroblevskiy worked in hospitals, supervised by Smitten, and after the death of the latter independently, until 1956.Three of the physicians were unable to find work in Cyprus, and in 1922 the British authority moved them from the refugee camps to Balcans. Sergey Kozentsov served as a surgeon in Kharkov Red Cross hospital for many years. Mkrtych Arevshatiants before immigrating worked in Tiflis City hospital; Alexey Ivanov served as a country doctor in Ukraine. After the departure from Cyprus Kozentsov lived in Dubrovnik, where he died in 1942. There is no information on the fate of the other two doctors who left Cyprus. Keywords: Alexey Ivanov; Boris Vroblevskiy; Cyprus; graduates of medical faculty; Kharkov University; Mark Freiman; Mkrtych Avevshatiants; physicians; Sergey Kozentsov; White emigration.«БЕЛЫЕ РУССКИЕ» ВРАЧИ НА КИПРЕ: СУДЬБЫ ШЕСТИ ВЫПУСКНИКОВ ИМПЕРАТОРСКОГО ХАРЬКОВСКОГО УНИВЕРСИТЕТА (ЧАСТЬ II)Агаев Э. Ключевые слова: Алексей Иванов; белая эмиграция; Борис Вроблевский; врачи; выпускники медицинского факультета; Кипр; Марк Фрейман, Мкртыч Аревшатьянц; Сергей Козенцов; Харьковский университет.«БIЛI РОСIЙСЬКI» ЛIКАРI НА КIПРI: ДОЛI ШЕСТИ ВИПУСКНИКIВ IМПЕРАТОРСЬКОГО ХАРКIВСЬКОГО УНIВЕРСИТЕТУ (ЧАСТИНА II)Агаєв Е. Abstract:
From December 1956 to December 1957, no fewer than four exhibitions presenting the oeuvre of Katarzyna Kobro and Władysław Strzemiński were organised: the Posthumous Exhibition of Władysław Strzemiński’s and Katarzyna Kobro’s Oeuvre, shown fi rst in Łódź (16 December 1956 – 14 January 1957) and then in Warsaw (18 January – 10 February 1957), and two exhibitions in Paris: 50 ans de peinture abstraite at Galerie Raymond Creuze (9 May – 12 June 1957) and Précurseurs de l’art abstrait en Pologne: Malewicz, Kobro, Strzemiński, Berlewi, Stażewski at Galerie Denise René (22 November 1957 – 10 January 1958). All received a strong response, both in Poland and abroad. Research focused on these exhibitions has brought some surprising results. None of them had been planned until 1956, and only after the events of October 1956 was it possible to show the works of Kobro and Strzemiński in Warsaw in 1957. The exhibition at the Łódź Division of the Central Bureau of Art Exhibitions was prepared with exceptional care and is immensely important, as it occasioned the fi rst attempt at preparing a catalogue of both Kobro’s and Strzemiński’s works, of Strzemiński’s biography and a bibliography of texts authored by Strzemiński and Kobro. In addition, it was there that Strzemiński’s treatise Teoria widzenia fi rst came to public attention; it was published only two years later. The exhibition was transferred, quite unexpectedly, to the Central Bureau of Art Exhibitions in Warsaw, which was the chief institution involved in exhibiting modern art in Poland; this gave offi cial sanction and a considerable status to the oeuvre of both avant-garde artists. The exhibition entitled Précurseurs de l’art abstrait en Pologne became, paradoxically, the fi rst-ever offi cial exhibition of Polish avant-garde art to be held abroad and organised by a state agency, i.e. the Central Bureau of Art Exhibitions, under the aegis of the ambassador of the People’s Republic of Poland in France. It was also the only exhibition in which Kazimierz Malewicz was regarded as a Pole and presented as belonging to the history of art in Poland; the mission initiated by Strzemiński in 1922 was thus completed. The institutions involved in arranging the loans of Malewicz’s works for this exhibition were the Ministry of Culture and Art, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its subordinate Polish embassies in Paris and Moscow. This was the fi rst time that the works of Kazimierz Malewicz were presented in the West, thanks to the efforts and under the aegis of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the period of the post-Stalinist thaw; notably, this happened before their presentation at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam (29 December 1957).

Abstract:
Venäjä oli yksi Kansainvälisen Olympiakomitean perustajajäsenistä vuonna 1894. Venäläiset osallistuivat Lontoon olympiakisoihin vuonna 1908 ja Tukholman kisoihin neljää vuotta myöhemmin. Vuoden 1917 sosialistinen vallankumous muutti koko valtion – mukaan luettuna urheilun käytännöt. Vuosina 1918–1921 käydyn verisen sisällissodan ja vuonna 1922 tapahtuneen Neuvostoliiton perustamisen jälkeen valtio pyrki organisoimaan uudelleen koko ruumiinkulttuurin. Neuvostoliittolaisessa ruumiinkulttuurissa ihannoitiin sotilaallista valmiutta, työkuntoisuutta ja urheilullisuutta. Kilpaurheilun suosio kasvoi huomattavasti 1920-luvulla. Vuonna 1928 venäläiset organisoivat mahtavat urheilukisat, Moskovan spartakiadit.

Abstract:
Director and theatre theoretician Bernhard Reich (1894–1972) is one of the most outstanding personalities of the German theatre of the 1920s, who, as a director and co-playwright, has collaborated with Max Reinhardt and particularly with Bertolt Brecht. In 1922, in Berlin, Reich meets Anna Lācis, with whom he leaves for the Soviet Union in 1926 and spends the rest of his life together. Having survived the reprisals of Stalin’s regime, Reich spends the last twenty years of his life in Latvia, where his creative endeavours are manifested in three ways. Firstly, Reich directs two productions in the theatre: H. Ibsen’s “Hedda Gabler” (Valmiera Theatre, 1956) and B. Brecht’s “Mother Courage and Her Children” (the State Philharmonic of the Latvian SSR, 1969). Secondly, during the 1960s and 1970s, Reich publishes reviews of Latvian theatre productions and articles about playwriting abroad in the Latvian periodicals. Thirdly, a number of Latvian museums and archives house Reich’s own correspondence, mostly addressed to Lācis and discussing both professional and private issues.

Abstract:
The history of the department of ophthalmology of the Kazan State Medical Academy for the 90-year period was analyzed. The department was founded in September, 1922. The reason for the foundation of the department was the trachoma that was rampant at that time in the Volga region. Academician V.V. Chirkovskiy (1874-1956), who headed the department from 1922 to 1928, was the founder and the first director of the first in USSR Trachoma Institution based in Kazan. From 1929 to 1932 professor Valentin Yemel’yanovich Adamyuk (1877-1950), the honoured Scientific researcher of the republic of Tatarstan was the head of the eye clinics of the medical academy and of the Scientific and Research Trachoma Institution. In 1932 professor, the honoured Scientific researcher of the republic of Tatarstan Alexandr Nikolaevich Murzin (1885-1954) has won the elections and headed the department. He secured the merging of the Scientific and Research Trachoma Institution and the eye clinics of the medical academy into the one institution. Thanks to the proper healthcare management and treatment and prevention measures trachoma was eliminated in republic of Tatarstan in 1964. Later, the department was chaired by Alexandr Nikiforovich Kruglov (1952-1964), Kamilya Islamovna Gafarova (1964-1967), Moisey Bencionovich Wufgart (1967-1987), Liyuda Bakhtigareevna Galiaskarova (1987-1996), Marina Vladimirovna Kuznetsova (1996-2012). Since March 2012 the department is headed by PhD, Principal out-of-staff ophthalmologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Aidar Nailevich Amirov. Nowadays the department staff completes over 5000 complicated eye microsurgeries yearly, and also consults the patients form Republic of Tatarstan and nearby regions with complicated cases of different eye diseases at the out-patients clinic and departments of the hospital.

Abstract:
The paper explains changes which become necessary in water mite taxonomy after revision of material from museum collections and recent field work. Todothyas Cook, 1974, not Acerbitas Özdikmen, 2006, must replace the preoccupied genus name Thyas Koch, 1836; Acerbitas is ranked as a subgenus of Todothyas. The following synonyms are established: Family Hydryphantidae: Todothyas distincta (Tuzovskij, 2007) = Todothyas colligera (K.Viets, 1923); Todothyas incerta (Lundblad, 1941) = Todothyas barbigera (K.Viets, 1908); Georgella intermedia Walter, 1927 (G. dauphinensis nom. nov. K.O.Viets, 1987) = G. koenikei Maglio, 1906; Hydrobaderia Özkan, 1985 = Hydryphantes Koch, 1841; Hydrobaderia ilicaensis Özkan, 1985 = Hydryphantes crassipalpis Koenike, 1914; Hydryphantes algeriensis Walter, 1925 = H. dispar (Schaub, 1888); Hydryphantes bayeri nonundulatus K. Viets, 1919 = H. planus Thon, 1899; Hydryphantes intermedius Daday, 1901 = H. dispar (Schaub, 1888); Hydryphantes spinipes Walter, 1922 = H. ruber (Geer, 1787); Panisus clypeolatus (Maglio, 1909) = P. torrenticolus Piersig, 1898; Panisus sarasini Bader, 1981 = P. michaeli (Koenike, 1896); Protzia multipora Walter, 1922 = P. squamosa Walter, 1908; Protzia macrognatha Walter, 1944 = P. distincta Walter, 1922; Sindacoides Bader, 1992 = Panisopsis K.Viets, 1926; Sindacoides ticinensis Bader, 1992 = Panisopsis setipes (K.Viets, 1911); Thyasella mandibularis torrenticola Schwoerbel, 1958 = T. mandibularis Lundblad, 1924. Hydryphantes pyrenaicus E. Angelier 1985, published as a nomen nudum, refers to H. armentarius Gerecke, 1996. Family Anisitsiellidae: Bandakia bieberi Bader, 1994 = B. concreta Thor, 1913. Family Oxidae: Oxus koenikei Thor, 1899 = O. longisetus (Berlese, 1885). Family Sperchontidae: Mixosperchon K. Viets, 1926 = Hispidosperchon Thor, 1901; Charoelia Bader, 1988 = Sperchon Kramer, 1877; Charoelia schloethi Bader, 1985 = Sperchon mutilus Koenike, 1908; Sperchon sandozi Bader, 1988 = S. hispidus Koenike, 1895; Sperchon monstruosus Bader, 1957 = S. hibernicus Halbert, 1944; Sperchonopsis phreaticus Biesiadka,1975 = S. procera Láska, 1965 stat. nov. Family Torrenticolidae: Monatractides bicinctus (Láska, 1933), M. parvipalpis (Halbert 1944), M. robustus (Halbert 1944), T. (Monatractides) hibernica Conroy, 1984 = M. madritensis (K. Viets, 1930). Redescriptions are given for numerous further species, redefining diagnostic characters and geographical distributions. Todothyas colligera (K. Viets, 1923) and Wandesia propinqua Walter, 1947 are redefined and newly established as separate species. Parathyas primitiva Lundblad, 1935 is transferred to the genus Todothyas Cook, 1974. Sperchon vaginosus Thor, 1902 is re-established as a distinct species in the ’denticulatus-group’. Torrenticola laskai Di Sabatino spec. nov. is introduced as a new name for Mediterranean populations attributed by several authors to T. lativalvata K. Viets, 1952. Torrenticola amplexa minutivalvata Lundblad, 1956 is elevated to species rank.
