Abstract:

Water-level fluctuations are among the primary factors determining the functioning of lakes. The volume to which lake basins are filled with water is of major importance to the courses of many processes and phenomena. A particular amount of water in a lake, and water-table stability, are also important from the point of view of human activity, as these elements help determine the quantity and accessibility of the water resources lakes have to offer, and therefore the possibilities for them to be used by different branches of the economy, e.g. industry, agriculture or tourism. The work detailed here is thus a presentation of trends as regards water-level fluctuations in 16 lakes in Poland, over the period 1956–2015. The study results, obtained for the first time in relation to such a long time scale and extending to around a dozen lakes, aim to point to the scale and direction of water-level fluctuations in times of the intensive transformation of the natural environment. They were obtained by reference to water-level observations made by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management – National Research Institute (IMiGW-PIB). Specifically, data referring to the (November-October) hydrological year were analysed for trends as regards mean annual water levels using the Mann-Kendall test. Results point to major variability in the courses noted for these levels over the analysed multiannual period. Nevertheless, three overall situations could be designated from within the group of cases analysed, i.e. increase, decrease or lack of a trend. The first group includes Lakes Sławskie, Jamno, Łebsko, Nidzkie, and Studzieniczne (where increases were statistically significant at p=0.05); the second, Lakes Ostrzyckie and Ełckie (decreases significant at p=0.05); and the last group all remaining lakes, i.e. Charzykowskie, Jeziorak and Rajgrodzkie, Biskupińskie, Drwęckie and Białe, Gopło, Roś, and Wigry. It was, however, noted that in many cases analysed periods of alternating increase and decrease in water level were to be observed. The causes of such fluctuations were complex, but inter alia reflected droughts of several years’ duration, periods featuring higher-than-average precipitation, and local conditions. In general, water-level fluctuations in lakes result from natural and anthropogenic factors determining the hydrological conditions in catchments. And in the context of the lakes considered here, the courses of water-level fluctuations were mostly a reflection of local, rather than wider climatic conditions – a fact i.a. illustrated by the lack of cohesive regional designations. The situation is different from that of, for example, the thermal or ice regimes of Polish lakes, in relation to which observed similarities in properties are seen to be determined mainly by climatic factors. Information of this kind may be of key importance to the (quantitative and qualitative) management of water resources in the context of the climate change being observed currently.

Modeling of climatic ranges of a dangerous locust pest - the Italian locust on the territory of Russia and neighboring countries over two periods: 1956-1975 and 1996-2015 was performed. Analysis of the constructed map scheme demonstrates expansion of the climatic range of the Italian locust mainly in the northern direction in the period 1996-2015 compared with the period 1956-1975 resulting from continuing trend of increase in mean global air temperature observed in recent decades. Obtained data can be used in monitoring locust pests in agriculture.

Resumen: Las Resoluciones de la DGRN de 20 diciembre 2016, abordan la cuestión del acceso de tres contratos de arrendamiento financiero de aeronaves al Registro de Bienes Muebles. La DGRN examina toda la normativa aplicable al Registro de Bienes Muebles, especialmente el Real Decreto384/2015, de 22 de mayo, por el que se aprueba el Reglamento de matriculación de aeronaves civiles, pues uno de sus objetivos es la coordinación entre el Registro de Bienes Muebles y el Registro de Matrícula de Aeronaves Civiles. Lectotypes of the following species are designated: Callirhopalussubcallosus Voss, 1956 [current name Pseudocneorhinussubcallosus (Voss, 1956)] and P.squamosus Marshall, 1934. Mediante la fotointerpretación de imágenes aéreas con la utilización de técnicas SIG y a través de un intenso trabajo bibliográfico y de campo, se realiza un análisis diacrónico (1956, 1991 y 2015) de la evolución de los usos del suelo en Oliva (València, España). A partir de este análisis multimetodológico se estudia la evolución de la situación urbanística y de las dinámicas territoriales en un municipio paradigmático para explicar la evolución urbanística del litoral valenciano en las últimas décadas. In this paper we have carried out a diachronic analysis about land uses evolution in Olive through a mixed method of research, based on photo-interpretation of aerial images (years 1956, 1991, 2015) using GIS techniques, on the one hand, and by means of a comprehensive bibliographic and field work, on the other hand. From this multimethod analysis, urban development and territorial dynamics are studied in a coastal paradigmatic municipality to explain the urbanistic development of the Valencian Mediterranean coast in the last decades.

Meligethes (Odonthogethes) trapezithorax sp. n., M. (O.) tricuspidatus sp. n., and M. (O.) luteomaculatus sp. n. are described from Hubei Province, China, based on a series of recently collected specimens. The new species appear morphologically closely related to M. (O.) brassicogethoides Audisio, Sabatelli & Jelínek, 2015 from Yunnan [M. (O.) trapezithorax sp. n.], M. (O.) occultus Audisio, Sabatelli & Jelínek, 2015 from Yunnan [M. (O.) tricuspidatus sp. n.], as well as M. (O.) pallidoelytrorum Chen & Kirejtshuk, 2013 from Sichuan and M. (O.) simulator Audisio, Sabatelli & Jelínek, 2015 from Shaanxi and Gansu [M. (O.) luteomaculatus sp. n.]. The new species clearly differ from their closely related taxa by details of body shape and color, and the distinct shape of the male and/or female genitalia. The previously unknown male of the rare and localized M. (M.) elytralis Audisio, Sabatelli & Jelínek, 2015 from Sichuan is described for the first time, and new distributional data of other Chinese species of the genus are presented, including M. (M.) semenovi Kirejtshuk, 1979 from Hubei, M. (M.) macrofemoratus Liu, Yang, Huang, Jelínek & Audisio, 2016 from Hubei, M. (M.) auropilosus Liu,Yang, Huang, Jelínek & Audisio, 2016 from Hubei, M. (O.) flavicollis Reitter, 1873 from Chongqing, M. (O.) wagneri Rebmann, 1956 from Shaanxi, M. (O.) pectoralis Rebmann, 1956 from Guizhou, and M. (O.) pseudopectoralis Audisio, Sabatelli & Jelínek, 2015 from Sichuan. Meligethes (M.) cinereoargenteus is moved from the Meligethes nepalensis species group to the Meligethes auripilis species group. Additional data on geographic distribution and larval ecology of other species in the genus are also reported. An updated species checklist of the genus Meligethes is presented.

Abstract:

Background: Demographic dynamics and decreasing trends in mortality from chronic diseases are major contributors to the phenomenon of population aging. The purpose of the present study was to examine the association between cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality and demographic indicators, in Greece the past 60 years. Methods: Life Expectancy at birth (LE), population age structure, fertility rates (TFR) and all-cause, CVD mortality rates were retrieved (data provided by the Hellenic Statistical Authority, 1956-2015). In order to test the research hypothesis time-series analysis was conducted. Results: Increasing trends in LE and in the older age (>65 or >80 years) groups’ share and declining trends in TFR were recorded. CVD mortality, after an upward course, showed decreasing trends during 1988–2009, accounting for the 96% and 97% increment in LE in men and women respectively. However, newer records (2010-2015) show a new upward trend. The declining trends in TFR were highly associated with the shifts towards the upper part of the population age pyramid. Conclusion: Population aging is a historically unprecedented event that cannot be avoided, deterred or alleviated. Its negative effects act cumulatively with the recent increases in cardiovascular mortality, especially in the light of the ongoing economic crisis which is expected to further exacerbate the existing contrasts. A possible way to successfully cope with the new demographic realities is to unlock an, up till now largely overlooked, opportunity named “healthy aging”.

Ao fazer a reconstituição deste percurso, questões teóricas, formais e afetivas, se confundem, e portanto o artigo questiona os limites dos procedimentos formais da razão, na geração de conhecimento. O percurso do duo é dividido em 4 etapas, de seu início, em 2012, à ultima apresentação do Pantharei, em Alcalá La Real, na Espanha, em 2015.

El conocimiento tecnológico generado en una empresa puede definirse como el conjunto de conocimientos provenientes del diseño, análisis, construcción y ensayos de sus productos tecnológicos, innovaciones y procesos. Las características de este tipo de conocimiento hacen que su conservación y transmisión sea compleja, particularmente, debido a su alto componente tácito. Por ello es importante indagar sobre sus características para facilitar su creación, gestión, conservación y transmisión. El objetivo de este estudio es identificar la metodología de trabajo en las actividades asociadas al diseño y fabricación de helicópteros. De igual manera, se abordará la gestión del conocimiento generado y su evolución en el tiempo en una empresa tomada como caso de estudio. Las prácticas y roles que desempeñan cada uno de los actores de la empresa son aspectos significativos en el análisis del caso. Se ha recurrido al análisis técnico de todos los helicópteros desarrollados por la empresa Cicaré s.a., que, como particularidad, no ha contado con registros de actividades o estados patrimoniales en el tiempo. Las entrevistas con personas relacionadas con la firma actual y su historia han sido fundamentales para cumplir con el objetivo. Cicaré S.A. es una empresa argentina de aeronáutica, reconocida internacionalmente, dedicada al desarrollo y fabricación de helicópteros. Es considerada un referente en la industria por varias innovaciones, empleadas hoy en todo el mundo, que ha desarrollado para este tipo de aeronaves. El primer vuelo vertical en Sudamérica, el desarrollo de uno de los primeros helicópteros ultralivianos y un simulador de vuelo real controlado son algunas innovaciones que han destacado a la firma. El presente estudio identifica que en la empresa coexisten dos metodologías de diseño e innovación aplicadas a la tecnología aeronáutica. Por un lado, cuenta con un departamento de producción que mediante metodología ingenieril estándar produce helicópteros en serie. Por otro lado, cuenta con un departamento de investigación y desarrollo que aplica metodología de análisis de prototipos como medio de generación de innovaciones y mejora de sus productos.

Based on the NECP/NCAR reanalysis dataset, the associations between the number of cold days (NCD) over East Asia (100–150° E, 25–55° N) and Arctic Oscillation (AO)/Arctic warming during 1956–2015 are explored. The results show the NCD was closely associated with AO during 1956–1990 and Arctic warming during 1991–2015. It reveals NCD over East Asia showed a downward trend and a significantly negative correlation with AO in the previous stage, while it presented an upward trend and notably positive association with Arctic warming in the later period. Meanwhile the increase in the earlier-stage AO will often be accompanied by the weakness of the Siberian high (SH), the Ural Mountains Blocking high (UBH), and the East Asian trough (EAT), and a “positive–negative–positive” wave band exist in the upper troposphere, which is linked with weakened northerly wind over East Asia. All these anomalies are unfavorable for the southward transportation of cold air, eventually leading to the decrease in NCD over East Asia. Additionally, when the near-surface temperature over the Arctic rises in the later period, on the one hand, SH reinforces and further results in more NCD over East Asia; on the other hand, the 1000–500 hPa thickness field displays a “north positive–south negative” pattern, which is conducive to the deceleration of the westerlies at mid-latitudes over Eurasia, and further bring about the enhancement of EAT and UBH, favoring the southward intrusion of cold air, finally, more NCD are generated.

As recommended by various accreditation and evaluation bodies (EFCE, 2020), the contents of process engineering teaching syllabuses aim to build, in the sense of Bloom’s educational taxonomy, high levels of skills in analysis, synthesis, evaluation (Bloom et al., 1956). Considering on the one hand that the evaluation of learning outcomes corresponds to the highest levels of skills and on the other hand the existence of many other experiences in the field (Mac Raighne al., 2015, Yu and Su, 2015, Liauw, 2020, Smith et al., 2020), peer review was offered to students at ENSIC Nancy for teaching for teaching chemical reaction engineering of homogeneous and heterogeneous reacting systems engineering of homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reactions. This method promotes active learning, in a constructive societal approach, allowing learners to identify and formulate their own problems to develop and increase their skills.

Abstract:

Two species of free-living marine nematodes were collected from the intertidal areas of East Coast of India namely, Conilia sinensis Chen and Guo, 2015 and Corononema parvum Nicholas and Stewart, 1995, both species are new records for the Indian fauna. Previously, the genus Conilia Gerlach, 1956 was known from Santos Beach, South Japan, East China Sea and Korea. The genus Corononema Nicholas and Stewart, 1995 was known only from Australia and Thailand and very recently reported from off the coast of Vietnam. Both the genera are being reported for the first time from India. The species are described and photomicrographed.
