A few countries permit women to serve in combat roles, but their long term performance in these positions has not been reported. The incidences of overuse injuries and attrition of 85 male and 235 female recruits in a light infantry brigade was followed in a three-year prospective study. Females were shorter (162 cm, CI 161–163 cm) than males (174 cm, CI 173–176), had more body fat (18.9 kg, CI 18.2–19.6 kg) than males (12.6 kg, 11.3–13.8 kg), had lowerV˙O2max (36.8 mL·min−1·kg−1, CI 35.8–37.78 mL·min−1·kg−1) than males (50.48 mL·min−1·kg−1, CI 48.4 to 52.48 mL·min−1·kg−1), had more stress fra

It focuses specifically on how alcohol consumption among mutineers affected their experience of the basic emotions of fear and anger. Finally, it addresses some empirical

On the morning of 16 March 1968, the men of Charlie Company, 11th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division, US Army, entered the village of Son My, on the coast of Central Vietnam. The company was led by Captain Ernest Medina. In charge of the company's 1st Platoon was Lieutenant William Calley. The company encountered no enemy forces, no opposing fire of any kind. Its only casualty was self-inflicted. Nevertheless, by early afternoon, over 400 villagers lay dead. Those killed were – almost exclusively – either women, old men or small children. For many of the women, rape had preceded death.

The year 2016 is a very important year for Slovenia. It is the year in which we commemorate our decision made 25 years ago to take an independent and democratic path, a path of decisions and changes. Since then, a lot has occurred. We have gained a number of experiences, we are more skilled and more knowledgeable. On the occasion of important anniversaries, such as this one, we usually take time to appreciate the milestones which marked the path we have walked. But what is even more inspiring is that these anniversaries and historical memories can be used as a source of ideas for the future. T

Having scoured Chester County, Maj. Gen. Nathanael Greene decided to expand the foraging area and decrease the demands on the population. This would enable farmers to rebuild and replant. Greene ordered Brig. Gen. Anthony Wayne to cross the Delaware River, enter New Jersey, and forage there for the army. On 17 February Wayne’s column set off for Wilmington, Delaware. Wayne met with Capt. John Barry of the Continental Navy who ferried Wayne’s 300 or so soldiers across the river on 19 February. New Jersey militia under Brig. Gen.
