Abstract:

Vietnam's diplomatic history shows that its ties to the Soviet Union had a significant impact on the country's revolutionary movement. The Soviet Union was one of the first nations to acknowledge and establish diplomatic ties with Vietnam in 1950, along with China. In the history of the fight for national liberation as well as in the establishment of socialism (socialist), the Soviet Union's close cooperation and significant assistance played a significant role in the victory of the Vietnamese revolution. The partnership between Vietnam and the Soviet Union, particularly in the years 1975 to 1991, achieved remarkable successes and actively aided the growth of both nation.

Abstract:

357 Background: Multiple studies show an increasing incidence of renal cancer, possibly related to the rising use of cross sectional imaging. We explored if the increase in renal cancer incidence differs across age groups. Methods: Using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) cancer registry data for the years 1975-2006, we ascertained incident cases of renal cancer. Urothelial histology was excluded. Yearly incidence rates of renal cancer were calculated, age-adjusted to the United States 2,000 standard adult population, and stratified by age group (20-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+). Age-specific trends in renal cancer diagnosis over time were evaluated with Poisson regression. Results: 63,843 incident renal cancer cases were identified in 544,684,745 person-years of observation. From 1975 to 2006, overall age-adjusted renal cancer incidence rose 238% from 7.4 to 17.6 per 100,000 adults. The mean age at diagnosis was 61.7 years in 1975, increased to 64.7 years in 1991, and then declined to 62.7 years by 2006. Using 1991 (the year of peak renal cancer age at diagnosis) as the dividing point, the average annual percentage increase in renal cancer incidence was 3.6% from 1976-1990 and 2.9% from 1991- 2006. The age-specific incidence rates of renal cancer increased in all age groups from 1975 to 2006; however the age-specific incidence rates changed at different rates (p<0.0001). Younger age groups showed a more rapid increase in renal cancer incidence over the second half of the study than did the older age groups. For example, for patients age 20-39 years the annual percentage change increased from 4.5% in 1975-1990 to 5.2% in 1991-2006 while annual percentage change decreased from 6.7% in 1975-1990 to 0.9% in 1991-2006 in those over 79 years old. The proportion of patients diagnosed younger than age 65 increased from 45.9% in 1991 to 55.3% in 2006. Conclusions: The incidence of renal cancer has risen steadily since 1975 and continues to increase in all age groups. In the last 15 years, mean age at diagnosis of renal cancer has decreased driven by an increased incidence in younger patients with proportionally less increase in older patients. No significant financial relationships to disclose.

Abstract:

Este trabalho relata os estudos do esôfago através da abreugrafia, de chagásicos do projeto Mambaí no período de 25 anos. Cada indivíduo realizou duas abreugrafias, em quatro períodos (1975-1976, 1980-1982, 1988-1991 e 1998-2000). A primeira abreugrafia foi realizada em posição obliqua anterior direita imediatamente após a ingestão de 75ml de sulfato de bário e a segunda um minuto após. Em todos os períodos foi utilizada a mesma metodologia, as abreugrafias foram lidas pelo mesmo pesquisador e os megaesôfagos foram classificadas em quatro grupos, segundo os critérios de Rezende e colaboradores. A prevalência de megaesôfago foi 5,2%; 5%; 18,6% e 13,9% em 1975-1976, 1980-1982, 1988-1991 e 1998-2000, respectivamente. A incidência de megaesôfago no período de 1975 a 2000 foi 11,5% (51/445). Durante 25 anos, 394 (84,2%) chagásicos permaneceram com o esofagograma normal, 11 (2,3%) diagnosticados com megaesôfago em 1975-1976, não progrediram, 61 (13%) que eram normais, duvidosos ou já tinham megaesôfago em 1975-1976, progrediram e 2 (0,4%) tiveram regressão do megaesôfago grupo I, diagnosticado em estudos anteriores.

Abstract:

Анотація. Мета статті полягає у дослідженні та аналізі публіцистики Богдана Хаварівського у вказаний період. Авторка прагнула висвітлити ключові теми, ідейні напрямки та стильову своєрідність його публікацій, а також визначити їх вплив на суспільно-політичну думку досліджуваного періоду. Методологія дослідження базується на комплексному підході, що включає такі методи: історико-біографічний, контент-аналізу, порівняльний, герменевтичний. Застосування зазначених методів забезпечило всебічний аналіз досліджуваної проблеми. Наукова новизна полягає у наступному: вперше здійснено систематизований аналіз публіцистики Б. Хаварівського (липень 1975 – січень 1991 рр.). Висвітлено вплив тогочасних суспільно-політичних обставин на тематику і змістове наповнення публікацій. Уведено до наукового вжитку періодичні видання і архівні джерела, що дають можливість глибше дослідити задекларовану проблематику. Висновки. Б. Хаварівський зробив вагомий внесок у розвиток української публіцистики досліджуваного часу. Проблематика змістового наповнення здебільшого зосереджена на публікаціях ідеологічного характеру. Серед основних тем – ювілеї, такі як 50-річчя утворення СРСР та 40-річчя возз’єднання з радянською Україною, а також переміщення газети «Іскра» тощо.

Abstract:

OBJECTIVE Cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) is the most common cause of nontraumatic spinal cord impairment and disability in the world. Given that the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score is the most frequently used outcome measure in clinical research and practice for treating patients with CSM, this review was undertaken to comprehensively and critically evaluate the psychometric properties of the JOA score. METHODS The authors identified studies (published in the period of January 1975 to November 2015) on the psychometric properties of the original, revised, and modified versions of the JOA score in Medline, PsycINFO, Excerpta Medica dataBASE (EMBASE), American College of Physicians Journal Club, and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. Additional publications were captured in a secondary search of the bibliographies in both original research articles and literature reviews identified in the original search. The JOA scores were evaluated for item generation and reduction, internal consistency, reliability, validity, and responsiveness. This review included all those versions of the JOA score whose psychometric properties had been reported in at least 2 published studies. RESULTS The primary search strategy identified 59 studies, of which 9 fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. An additional 18 publications were captured in the secondary search and included in the analysis. The key findings from the 27 studies analyzed indicated the following: 1) the original JOA score (1975) was the source for the revised JOA score (1994) and 3 modified versions (1991, 1993, and 1999 JOA scores) reported or used in at least 2 published studies; 2) the revised and modified versions of the JOA score are markedly different from each other; 3) only the revised JOA score (1994) was validated with the original JOA score; and 4) the 1975 JOA score is the most appropriate instrument for assessing patients in Asian populations (especially from Japan) because of its psychometric attributes, and the 1991 JOA score is the most appropriate version for use in Western populations. CONCLUSIONS The authors' results indicate that the original (1975), revised (1994), and modified (1991, 1993, and 1999) versions of the JOA score are substantially different from each other in terms of their content and have been incompletely examined for their psychometric properties and cultural sensitivity. Whereas the 1975 JOA score is the most appropriate version for assessing individuals from Asian populations (particularly those eating with chopsticks), the 1991 JOA score is most suitable for evaluating patients in Western populations. Nonetheless, further investigation of the psychometric properties of the 1975 and 1991 JOA scores is recommended because of a paucity of studies reporting on the responsiveness of these 2 scoring instruments.

AbstractObjectives:Analyze changes that have occurred among U.S. hospitals over a 17-year period, 1975 through 1991, in the percentage of Staphylococcus aureus resistant to b-lactam antibiotics and associated with nosocomial infections.Design:Retrospective review. The percentage of methicillin-resistant S aureus (MRSA) was defined as the number of S aureus isolates resistant to either methicillin, oxacillin, or nafcillin divided by the total number of S aureus isolates for which methicillin, oxacillin, or nafcillin susceptibility test results were reported to the National Nosocomial Infections Surveillance (NNIS) System.Setting:NNIS System hospitals.Results:Of the 66,132 S aureus isolates that were tested for susceptibility to methicillin, oxacillin, or nafcillin during 1975 through 1991, 6,986 (11%) were resistant to methicillin, oxacillin, or nafcillin. The percentage MRSA among all hospitals rose from 2.4% in 1975 to 29% in 1991, but the rate of increase differed significantly among 3 bed-size categories: <200 beds, 200 to 499 beds, and 2500 beds. In 1991, for hospitals with <200 beds, 14.9% of S aureus isolates were MRSA, for hospitals with 200 to 499 beds, 20.3% were MRSA; and for hospitals with >500 beds, 38.3% were MRSA. The percentage MRSA in each of the bed-size categories rose above 5% at different times: in 1983, for hospitals with 2500 beds; in 1985, for hospitals with 200 to 499 beds; and in 1987, for hospitals with <200 beds.Conclusions:This study suggests that hospitals of all sizes are facing the problem of MRSA, the problem appears to be increasing regardless of hospital size, and control measures advocated for MRSA appear to require re-evaluation. Further study of MRSA in hospitals would benefit our understanding of this costly pathogen.

Phacosoma basilewskyi Balthasar, 1960 was described for a peculiar East African deltochiline dung beetle species. Years later, Paulian (1975) erected the deltochiline genus Madaphacosoma Paulian, 1975 for two new Malagasy species, namely Madaphacosoma humberti Paulian, 1975, as the type species, and M. betschi Paulian, 1975. Phacosoma basilewskyi was transferred to Madaphacosoma in that same publication. Later, Paulian (1991) added Madaphacosoma major Paulian, 1991 to the genus for a total of three Madagascan and one mainland African species. Recently, Madaphacosoma together with three other genera occurring in Madagascar, namely Aleiantus Olsoufieff, 1947, Phacosomoides Martinez & Pereira, 1959 and Sikorantus Paulian, 1976, were synonymized with Epactoides Olsoufieff, 1947 by Wirta & Montreuil (2008). Although Madaphacosoma basilewskyi (Balthasar, 1960) is not specifically mentioned as a new combination with three other species, M. major, M. humberti and M. betschi, catalogued on pages 661–662 in Wirta & Montreuil (2008), and the genus is treated as valid by Tarasov & Dimitrov (2016) and Tarasov (2017), it is currently lumped with the other Malagasy species in the genus Epactoides. The current accepted name for the species is thus Epactoides basilewskyi (Balthasar, 1960).

لم يترك الاستعمار منطقة من المناطق التي اخرج منها بالقوة إلا وترك فيها مشكلة مستعصية تثير الفتن والخلافات بين الدول التي المستقلة، فبدءاً من الاستعمار البريطاني والذي ترك كشمير منطقة خلاف بين الهند وباكستان، يتجدد خلافها كل حين من الزمن مروراً بمنطقة حلايب بين مصر والسودان، والاستعمار الإسباني الذي ترك منطقة الصحراء منطقة صراع بين دول المنطقة. وقد ازدادت أهمية هذه المنطقة بعد اكتشاف ثرواتها فتحولت من منطقة صحراوية إلى منقطة استراتيجية تطمح كل الدول المحيطة بها إلى الاستحواذ عليها فضلاً عن إطلالتها على المحيط الأطلسي، فكانت بذرة للعديد من الصراعات والنزاعات في المنطقة فضلاً عن تشرذم المنطقة بسبب هذه النزاعات والصراعات، فكانت سبباً في القطيعة السياسية بين المغرب والجزائر، وسبباً في التدخلات الأجنبية في تلك المنطقة.

Abstract:

The paper estimates the multiplier effect of public spending (total government spending) on economic growth (RGDP) from 44 years long time-series database of macro-economic variables from 1974-75 to 2018-19 (Panchayat Regime (1975-1990), Democracy I: Ceremonial Monarch (1991-2005) and Democracy II: Federal (2006-2019)) through structure vector auto-regressive (SVAR) model with tests. The paper provides the above three political regimes based on relationships between public spending and economic growth and the multiplier of public spending on economic growth. As a result, in the three different regimes, their nature, behavior, and dynamics are stationary. Except for real regular spending (RRS) in Democracy I: Ceremonial Monarch (1991-2005) and real capital spending (RCS) in Democracy II: Federal (2006-2019), all coefficient values of SVAR estimate shows a significantly positive relationship between the government spending and economic growth. It indicates a positive multiplier effect of public spending; recurrent spending and capital spending are positive to economic growth, except for GRRE in Democracy I: Ceremonial Monarch (1991-2005) and RCS in Democracy II: Federal (2006-2019). Likewise, in the different political regimes, higher multiplier of total public spending, regular public spending and capital public spending in the Panchayat Regime (1975-1990) are better than successive democratic regimes so-called the people’s centric political regimes: Democracy I: Ceremonial Monarch (1991-2005) and Democracy II: Federal (2006-2019). Besides, except for the Panchayat Regime (1975-1990), the multiplier value of public spending; recurrent spending, and capital spending are lower in Democracy I: Ceremonial Monarch (1991-2005) and then Democracy II: Federal (2006-2019). It indicates the low efficiency of the government spending and budgetary system. Therefore, the government should improve the efficiency of public spending, the ratio of the capital spending, and private investment for improving the higher multiplier variable in long run.

Abstract:

The article presents the diversity of population change in urban agglomerations of Bielsko-Biala, compared to surrounding rural areas. The paper presents the relationship between these areas in shaping the demographic development in the years 1975–2012. Two distinct periods of change were distinguished on the basis of analyses. In the first one (years 1975–1991), urban areas grew faster, which was determined by industrialization and urbanization. In the second period (years 1992–2012), rural areas had a high population growth rate.

Abstract:

The araneid genus Larinia Simon currently includes 56 species, eleven of them with New World distribution (World Spider Catalog, 2016). North American species of the genus were revised first time by Levi (1975) and South American species by Harrod et al. (1991). According to these authors there are four species known from subtropical South America (Larinia bivittata Keyserling 1885; L. montecarlo (Levi, 1988); L. t-notata (Tullgren, 1905); L. tucuman Harrod, Levi & Leibensperger, 1991) and also four species known from tropical South America (L. ambo Harrod, Levi & Leibensperger, 1991; L. directa (Hentz, 1847); L. lampa Harrod, Levi & Leibensperger, 1991; L. neblina Harrod, Levi & Leibensperger, 1991). According to Buckup et al. (2010) a total of 209 species of Araneidae are recorded for state of Rio Grande do Sul, including the three species L. bivittata, L. montecarlo and L. t-notata.

The nulang arc (from the Berawan cognate tulang - for bone or bones) is a term coined by Metcalf (1975) to describe the present day distribution of peoples in Sarawak who traditionally practised secondary treatment of the dead. These include the small subgroups who make up the Kajang peoples, the Punan Bah, Berawan, Lundayeh, Lun Bawang, and Kelabit, as well as the Melanau nearer the coast.2 These groups are also linguistically related and some of them share genealogies and mythical ancestors in common (See Metcalf,1975; Aseng, 1998; Morris, 1991; Clayre, 1971).

Estimates of partial factor productivity growth for rice and wheat in India and Pakistan have shown relatively rapid growth in yields per hectare since adoption of modem rice and wheat varieties began in the mid-to-Iate 1960s [Byerlee (1990); Rosegrant (1991)]. Yields per hectare for rice and wheat grew slowly prior to the green revolution, then increased dramatically (Table 1). In Pakistan, yield growth from 1965 to 1975 was particularly rapid, but declined sharply after that. Indian yields grew more slowly than in Pakistan in the early green revolution period, but higher yield growth was sustained in India after 1975.

In recent years, there has been a tremendous amount of progress made in three‐dimensional (3-D) magnetotelluric modeling algorithms. Much of this work has been devoted to the integral equation technique (e.g., Hohmann, 1975; Weidelt, 1975; Wannamaker et al., 1984; Wannamaker, 1991). This method has contributed significantly to our understanding of electromagnetic field behavior in 3-D models. However, some of the very earliest work in 3-D modeling concentrated on differential methods (e.g., Jones and Pascoe, 1972; Reddy et al., 1977). It is generally recognized that differential methods are better suited than integral equation methods to model arbitrarily complex geometries, and consequently this area has recently been receiving a great deal of attention (e.g., Madden and Mackie, 1989; Xinghua et al., 1991; Mackie et al., 1993; Smith, 1992, personnal communication). Differential methods lead to large sparse systems of equations to be solved for the unknown field values. It is possible to use relaxation algorithms to quickly obtain approximate solutions to these systems of equations without resorting to standard matrix inversion routines or sparse matrix solvers.
