Abstract:
This paper presents findings from a content analysis of 650 empirical chemistry education research papers published in two top-tiered chemistry education journals Chemistry Education Research and Practice and Journal of Chemical Education, and four top-tiered science education journals International Journal of Science Education, Journal of Research in Science Teaching, Research in Science Teaching and Science Education from 2004–2013. We found that empirical chemistry education research (CER) papers accounted for 7.7 percent of the publications in the four science education journals. The most highly published area of research was in conceptions and conceptual change and most studies adopted mixed methods. The majority of the studies were conducted in higher education contexts and in the United States. Researchers who publish prolifically in the field included Vicente Talanquer, Derek Cheung, Michael Sanger, Keith Taber, Melanie Cooper and Marcy Towns. Current research trends and gaps are illuminated and possible future work in CER is discussed in the paper.

Its main objective is to trace a preliminary overview about the subject highlighting some aspects, dimensions and particularities identified in the process of organizing this academic works. Two specific objectives have orientated this research: a) to map the bibliographical material of Curriculum; and b) to identify the main themes of these productions. Through a qualitative and documental research it has been done a mapping of the scientific articles published in the A1, A2, B1, B2 and B3 journals extracts; of the published books; as well as in doctorate thesis and master dissertations in the whole national territory. It was possible to demonstrate an expressive growth in the number of doctorate thesis and master dissertations, articles and books on the subject of this work, mainly in the Southern region of Brazil, which is the great responsible of the major part of the productions that has been analyzed. The area of Curriculum has been consolidating itself as a scientific field that involves different kinds of knowledge and practices; meanwhile it legitimates historical, social and economic aspects of its constitution. It was also possible to foresee the Curriculum as a field of educational changes and transformations<br>A presente pesquisa visa contribuir para o estado da arte das produções acadêmicas em Currículo, no período compreendido entre 2004-2013. Tem como objetivo geral traçar um panorama preliminar sobre o assunto, procurando destacar aspectos, dimensões e particularidades identificados no processo de organização dessas produções. Dois objetivos específicos orientaram a pesquisa: a) realizar um mapeamento do material bibliográfico que versa sobre currículo; e b) identificar as principais temáticas abordadas nessas produções. Por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, de caráter documental produziu-se o mapeamento das produções publicadas em artigos científicos dos estratos A1, A2, B1, B2 e B3; de livros; e de teses de doutorado e dissertações de mestrado em todo o território nacional. Por meio da pesquisa, foi possível constatar um aumento expressivo de teses de doutorado, dissertações de mestrado, artigos de periódicos e livros que versam sobre o tema, com destaque para a região Sudeste, responsável pela maior parte das produções sobre o tema no período analisado. O Currículo tem demonstrado sua legitimidade enquanto uma área de conhecimento abrangente que envolve diferentes saberes e práticas, ao mesmo tempo que legitima as questões históricas, sociais, políticas e econômicas em sua constituição, sendo possível a identificação de uma perspectiva de mudanças das ações educacionais

Abstract:
This study provides a content analysis of television families portrayed in family-focused programs aired between 2004 and 2013. The analysis focuses on family configuration type, parent type and marital status, and the frequency and gender of children characters, as well as each program's genre, channel type, and target audience. The study uses cultivation theory as the basis of understanding and aims to anticipate television's potential effects and raise important questions that should be addressed in future studies. Results indicate that the traditional nuclear family configuration held the largest portion of the television family landscape. The study found an increase in single-parent families and a decrease in reconstituted families portrayed on television. Significantly, the content analysis revealed a new family configuration type that had not been identified in previous studies: nuclear with same-sex parents. The study found more single mothers than single fathers and discovered that single mothers had significantly fewer male children, pointing out a potential issue in terms of single-parent gender. The content analysis found more male children than female children; however, four years of data included more females than males, indicating possible movement toward equal representation of both genders. This study calls out the importance of educating young television audiences regarding the increasing complexity of the modern-day television family. The potential cultivation effect of family-related television programming could affect society's views of the importance of family—an issue that should be explored in future research. Other areas for future studies include trends related to television families with same-sex parents and extended family member dynamics as portrayed on television.

Magistro baigiamojo darbo tikslas – retrospektyviai išnagrinėti veterinarijos farmakologinio budrumo sistemos vykdymą Lietuvoje nuo 2004 iki 2013 metų. Siekiant nurodyto tikslo buvo iškelti tokie uždaviniai: susipažinti su prieinama moksline literatūra lietuvių ir anglų kalbomis, išanalizuoti veterinarijos farmakologinio budrumo organizavimą ir atitinkamus teisės aktus, reglamentuojančius veterinarijos farmakologinį budrumą; atlikti Lietuvos veterinarijos farmakologinio budrumo dešimties metų analizę, už budrumą atsakingoje institucijoje; įvertinti veterinarijos farmakologinio budrumo sistemos efektyvumą Lietuvoje; išsiaiškinti problemas, lemiančias tokius rezultatus. Pirmajame darbo skyriuje yra nagrinėjama veterinarijos farmakologinio budrumo samprata, su tuo susiję teisės aktai, reguliavimas ir vykdymas Lietuvoje. Antrame skyriuje atlikus tyrimą gauti rezultatai parodė, kad Lietuvoje vykdomo veterinarijos farmakologinio budrumo sistema yra menka, gaunamas pranešimų skaičius yra vos keli pranešimai per metus. Prieita išvados, kad Lietuvoje vykdomo veterinarijos farmakologinio budrumo efektyvumas yra labai blogas. Nustatyta viena iš pagrindinių priežasčių, lemiančių tokį rezultatą – menkas visuomenės ir veterinarų praktikų aktyvumas ir nenoras pranešti apie pastebėtas nepalankias veterinarinių vaistų reakcijas. Darbo apimtis 32 puslapis, darbe yra 4 lentelės ir 2 paveikslai, buvo panaudoti 25 literatūros šaltiniai.<br>Master’s final thesis aims was to perform the retrospective analysis of veterinary pharmacovigilance system in Lithuania in the period from 2004 to 2013. To achieve this objective, the below goals were stated: to analyse available scientific literature in the Lithuanian and English languages concerning topic; to reveal veterinary pharmacovigilance concept; to analyse Lithuanian legislation governing veterinary pharmacovigilance; to make analysis of veterinary pharmacovigilance for the period of 10 years in the institutions in charge; to evaluate efficiency of veterinary pharmacovigilance system in Lithuania; to find out the problems leading to such results. The first part of the thesis analyses the concept of veterinary pharmacovigilance and the related legislation governing and implementing it in Lithuania. In the second part of the thesis the obtained results are presented that showed that the system of veterinary pharmacovigilance in Lithuania is weak. Only a few cases have been reported within a year. It suggests that efficiency of veterinary pharmacovigilance system in Lithuania is equal to zero. One of the main reasons responsible for poor results has been found i.e. unwillingness of the society and veterinary practicians to report detected reactions to veterinary medications. Volume of master thesis 32 pages, with 4 tables and 2 pictures. 25 references have been used.

Defesa : Curitiba, 31/03/2016<br>Inclui referências : f. 77-80<br>Resumo: O trabalho procurou realizar uma investigação sobre o hiato de rendimentos público-privado por meio da Decomposição de Oaxaca-Blinder, Regressão Quantílica e Decomposição Quantílica de Melly. Ao contrário da maioria dos trabalhos existentes sobre o tema, o estudo ampliou o foco de pesquisa, procurando investigar tanto o período de 2004 a 2013, como apresentar recortes regionais para verificar a presença de heterogeneidade espacial. Os resultados encontrados mostraram que há um diferencial em favor dos trabalhadores do setor público ao longo de todo o período e em todas as regiões do país. Do hiato total, cerca de três quartos são devidos a atributos produtivos e o restante devese à diferença setorial entre os grupos. Na análise regional, observou-se que as regiões Norte e Nordeste apresentam tanto a maior desigualdade quanto o maior prêmio salarial. Por outro lado, a região Sudeste apresentou a menor desigualdade e menor prêmio. Finalmente, durante o período 2004-2013, o hiato de rendimentos apresentou relativa estabilidade, com redução nos quantis inferiores e o crescimento nos superiores.<br>Abstract: The study sought to conduct an investigation into the gap of public-private income through the decomposition of Oaxaca-Blinder, Quantile Regression and Melly’s Quantile Decomposition. Unlike most existing studies on the subject, the study has expanded the focus of research, seeking to investigate both the period 2004- 2013 and present regional sections for the presence of spatial heterogeneity. The results showed that there is a differential in favor of public sector workers throughout the period and in all regions of the country. The total gap, about three quarters are due to productive attributes and the rest is due to sectoral differences between the groups. In the analysis, it was observed that the North and Northeast regions have both greater inequality as the biggest wage premium. On the other hand, the Southeast had the lowest inequality and lower premium. Finally, during the period 2004-2013, yields the gap presented on stability, with a reduction in the lower quantiles, and the upper growth.

Abstract:
The state of Alagoas has a beautiful coastline, as well as cultural and historical points of good representation in the country's history. The evolution of the modern world, with momentum of globalization, decreased geographical distances, especially with advances in transportation and communication systems, expanding the meaning and importance of tourism. He ceased to be synonymous with leisure to take the role of social economic agent, politician and, where in many countries is fundamental for development. Thus, tourism is seen as a major opportunity for economic development. Currently only have tourism potential is not enough, you need to plan, invest, explore, energize the sector, so that it has a tourism product that satisfies the desires of tourists. This study aims to analyze the Alagoas tourism sector from the perspective of logistics, which is understood in this case as the distribution channel and sales of tourism products. In this sense, the goal is to understand the behavior of variables connected to the logistics of tourism in Alagoas, for in comparison with the states of Northeast Brazil and the terms, raising a brief diagnosis of the sector. The study found that there were significant increases across the Northeast, in the period from 2004 to 2013, driven by the phenomenon of social mobility of much of the population to consumption classes B and C. However, it was observed in Alagoas investments directed to already established tourist destinations, particularly in the state capital, driven by demand. The domestic market represents 95% of the flow of tourists in Alagoas and the state lacks a strategic plan that is able to consolidate potential tourism products, which can be integrated to existing, expanding its range of destinations, providing major tourist options, according to the segments of tourism offered.<br>O estado de Alagoas possui um litoral belíssimo, além de pontos culturais e históricos de boa representatividade na história do país. A evolução do mundo moderno, com impulso da globalização, diminuiu as distâncias geográficas, principalmente com avanços nos sistemas de transporte e comunicação, ampliando o significado e importância do turismo. Ele deixou de ser sinônimo de lazer para assumir o papel de agente social, político e econômico, onde em muitos países é fundamental para o desenvolvimento. Dessa forma, o turismo é visto como uma grande oportunidade de desenvolvimento econômico. Atualmente, apenas ter potencial turístico não é suficiente, é preciso planejar, investir, explorar, dinamizar o setor, de tal forma que se tenha um produto turístico que satisfaça os anseios dos turistas. O presente estudo tem por finalidade analisar o setor turístico alagoano pela ótica da logística, que é entendida nesse processo como o canal de distribuição e venda dos produtos turísticos. Nesse sentido, o objetivo é perceber o comportamento de variáveis ligadas a logística do turismo em Alagoas, para em termos comparativos com os estados do Nordeste e o Brasil, levantar um breve diagnóstico do setor. O estudo constatou que houve crescimentos significativos em todo o Nordeste, no período de 2004 a 2013, impulsionados pelo fenômeno da ascensão social de boa parte da população brasileira às classes de consumo B e C. No entanto, observou-se em Alagoas investimentos voltados aos destinos turísticos já consolidados, principalmente na capital do estado, impulsionados pela demanda. O mercado doméstico corresponde a 95% do fluxo de turistas em Alagoas e o estado carece de um planejamento estratégico que seja capaz de consolidar potenciais produtos turísticos, que possam ser integrados aos já existentes, ampliando a oferta de destinos, proporcionando aos turistas maiores opções, de acordo com os segmentos de turismo ofertados.

With the change in political and economic situations, increased urbanization and the growing population in China leads to extended housing needs, which results in various problems for the real estate market, such as the pronounced rise of housing price and unreasonable housing supply system. At present, the major issue that the government is facing with is how to improve the housing availability and provide space to the urban residents to solve the problem that many urban residents are unable to afford housing. In order to fully understand the housing market in Beijing city, this paper adopted quantitative methods of Housing Price to Income Ratio, Residual Income, and the Housing Affordability Index to examine the housing affordability of Beijing urban residents from 2004 to 2013, based upon the data collected from Beijing Statistic Yearbook mostly. The analysis revealed that there is a declining trend of housing affordability in Beijing and the gap between residential housing prices and urban households’ incomes and the difference between the poor and the rich is obvious.

Primeiramente, são discutidas as possíveis finalidades atribuídas ao salário mínimo. Num segundo momento, é abordado o processo histórico do salário mínimo brasileiro, tendo como foco os fatores que determinaram o seu valor real. Posteriormente, realiza-se uma análise empírica sobre a capacidade de o salário mínimo satisfazer as necessidades vitais básicas com alimentação e habitação no período 2004-2013. Por fim, discute-se o vínculo entre salário mínimo e o princípio da dignidade da pessoa humana, previsto na Constituição Federal de 1988, bem como são analisados dois obstáculos à fixação de um nível digno de salário mínimo: a forma de inserção do Brasil no sistema-mundial, com impactos na capacidade de geração de renda no país, e o grau de concentração de renda. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT<br>This thesis examines the ability of the minimun wage to satisfy basic vital needs of workers and their families. First, the possible purposes assigned to the minimum wage are discussed. Secondly, it addresses the historical process of the Brazilian minimum wage, focusing on the factors that determine its real value. After that, it will be held an empirical analysis of the ability of the minimum wage to satisfy basic vital needs for food and housing in the period 2004-2013. Finally, it discusses the link between minimum wage and the principle of the dignity of the human person, as set out in the 1988 Federal Constitution, and analyzes two obstacles to setting a worthy minimum wage: the way that Brazil inserts in the world system, and its impacts on the ability to generate income in the country, and the degree of income concentration.

The specific objectives are: a) show aspects and peculiarities of academic production on Philosophy teaching at the secondary level of Basic Education in the 2004-2013 period; b) verify in what institutions and regions of Brazil the construction of knowledge on the subject has been more abundant; c) verify whether 2008 was a milestone in the increase of production on the subject; d) identify the commitment of the areas of Philosophy and Education with the production of knowledge on the Philosophy curricular component in High School. To achieve the proposed objectives, we used the methodological resource known as Knowledge of the State to identify the main themes that have marked the production of knowledge on the subject, as well as possible gaps and unexplored fields by the academic community on the Philosophy curricular component in High School. To address the numerous challenges presented at this stage of Basic Education, we counted on the contributions of Krawczyk (2009, 2011), Moehlecke (2012), Frigotto and Ciavatta (2003) and Carneiro (2012). Regarding the Philosophy curricular component, among others, we were guided by Severino (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012). To think about the attributions that emerge from the curriculum and its construction, we appealed to the reflections of Gimeno Sacristán (2000, 2002, 2013), Chizzotti and Ponce (2012), Moreira and Candau (2007). The study of the state of knowledge of academic production enabled to note the great contribution of the Education programs in the construction of knowledge about the Philosophy curricular component: 96% of production on the subject come from Graduate Programs in Education and 4% of the work from Philosophy Programs. We verified also that in the Southeast region a considerably larger number of academic works on the topic were produced, we highlight three centers: UNICAMP, PUC/SP and UNINOVE. After the enactment of the11,684/2008 Law, a broadening of the debate on Philosophy teaching in High School was set in the scientific community. The conquest for the legitimization of the curricular component; the consolidation of identity, as an autonomous curricular discipline, which only takes place in the action-reflection teaching practice, challenges to research on the presence of Philosophy in the Brazilian High School and how the academic community has positioned themselves about it. We advocate that the Philosophy curricular component develops its role and contributes to the formation of autonomous individuals<br>Esta pesquisa, inserida no Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação: Currículo da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo PUC/SP, na linha de pesquisa Políticas Públicas e Reformas Educacionais, tem como objetivo geral traçar um panorama da produção acadêmica sobre o componente curricular filosofia no Ensino Médio, buscando identificar que aspectos, dimensões e particularidades podem ser destacados a partir dessa produção no período de 2004 a 2013, em artigos científicos dos periódicos classificados em estratos A1, A2, B1 e B2, e em dissertações de mestrado e teses de doutorado. Os objetivos específicos são: a) evidenciar aspectos e peculiaridades da produção acadêmica sobre o ensino de Filosofia no nível médio da Educação Básica, no período de 2004 a 2013; b) verificar em que instituições e regiões do Brasil a construção de conhecimento sobre o tema tem sido mais farta; c) aferir se o ano de 2008 foi um marco para o aumento da produção sobre o tema; d) identificar o comprometimento das áreas de Filosofia e de Educação com a produção de conhecimento sobre o componente curricular filosofia no Ensino Médio. Para alcançar os objetivos propostos, utilizou-se o recurso metodológico denominado Estado do Conhecimento para identificar as principais temáticas que têm demarcado a produção de conhecimento sobre o assunto, bem como as possíveis lacunas existentes e campos inexplorados pela comunidade acadêmica sobre o componente curricular filosofia no Ensino Médio. Para tratar dos inúmeros desafios que se apresentam a essa etapa da Educação Básica, contou-se com as contribuições de Krawczyk (2009, 2011), Moehlecke (2012), Frigotto e Ciavatta (2003) e Carneiro (2012). Em relação ao componente curricular filosofia, pautou-se, entre outros, em Severino (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012). Para pensar as atribuições que emergem do currículo e de sua construção, recorreu-se às reflexões de Gimeno Sacristán (2000, 2002, 2013), Chizzotti e Ponce (2012), Moreira e Candau (2007). O estudo do Estado do Conhecimento da produção acadêmica possibilitou constatar a grande contribuição dos Programas de Educação na construção de conhecimentos sobre o componente curricular filosofia: 96% da produção sobre o tema advém dos Programas de Pós-graduação em Educação e 4% dos trabalhos dos Programas de Filosofia. Constatou-se, também, que, na região sudeste, produziu-se um número consideravelmente maior de trabalhos sobre o tema, destacando-se três núcleos: a UNICAMP, a PUC/SP e a UNINOVE. Após a promulgação da Lei 11.684/2008, configurou-se uma ampliação do debate sobre o ensino de Filosofia no Ensino Médio na comunidade científica. A conquista pela legitimação do componente curricular; a consolidação da identidade, como disciplina curricular autônoma, que só se realiza na ação-reflexão da prática docente, desafia a pesquisar sobre a presença da Filosofia no Ensino Médio brasileiro e de que maneira a comunidade acadêmica têm se posicionado a respeito. Defende-se que o componente curricular Filosofia desenvolva seu papel e contribua com a formação de sujeitos autônomos

Com este intuito, foi realizada uma pesquisa do tipo qualitativa por meio da modalidade estudo bibliográfico utilizando-se o procedimento de coleta on-line de dados efetivada a partir do acesso ao sítio da Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações. Para o tratamento das informações recorreu-se à análise de conteúdo de Bardin (2011) como aporte metodológico e ao conceito de campo em Bourdieu (1974, 1976, 1983,1994, 1995,1998, 2003), enquanto aporte teórico. O resultado da investigação aponta para a acrescente abordagem sobre o tema relações como: movimentos sociais; identidades; racismo; formação de professores; propostas e práticas pedagógicas; memórias; ações afirmativas e políticas educacionais; currículos e programas; instrumentos pedagógicos; estado da arte, concepções teóricas, dentre outros, o que possibilita a visibilidade dos debates e favorece a criação de um campo em que disputas de força e sentidos podem mobilizar um poder simbólico capaz de impulsionar a superação da condição de exclusão social presente em diferentes esferas da sociedade.<br>The present study examines Brazilian theses and dissertations related to the theme Education and Race Relations defended between the years 2004-2013, whose purpose is to identify what academic productions say respecting education and race relations during this period. With this purpose, a qualitative search was conducted through bibliographic study mode, using the collection procedure online of data, effective from the time of access to the site of the Brazilian Digital Library of theses and dissertations. For dealing with the information, the Bardin's content analysis was used (2011) as a methodological support and to the concept of field according to Bourdieu (1974, 1976, 1983,1994, 1995,1998, 2003), as a theoretical contribution. The outcome of the investigation points to the growing approach on the topic race relations and education in recent years, and the variation of this related subtopics, such as: social movements; identities; racism; training of teachers; proposals and pedagogical practices; memories; affirmative actions and educational policies; curricula and programs; pedagogical instruments; state of the art, theoretical concepts, among others, which enable the visibility of debates and promote the creation of a field where disputes of strength and senses can mobilize a symbolic power able to boost the overcoming of social exclusion condition present in different spheres of society.

Abstract:
The positive contributions of entrepreneurship towards the economic development were already proved by the previous researchers. The main aim of this study was to analyse the determinants of entrepreneurial activity in the Nordic countries over the period of years 2004‑2013 to provide the supportive empirical analysis for the Nordic entrepreneurial policy makers. Data were obtained from the various databases and were formed into the panel dataset. Entrepreneurial activity was quantified by the two variables, rate of registered business activity and established business ownership rate. For each entrepreneurial activity, acting as the dependent variable, was estimated the set of econometric models following the econometric approach with the Fixed Effects Estimator. The results obtained for the both dependent variables did not substantially differ from each other and were generally in agreement with the results obtained by the previous scholars. The hypothesis stating the positive relationship between unemployment rate, GDP per capita and entrepreneurial activity, during the analysed period, were accepted. Also the negative impact of administrative barriers on entrepreneurial activity was confirmed. However, no statistically significant empirical support was obtained for the hypothesis assuming the positive relationship between R&amp;D sector and entrepreneurial activity.

AbstractThe decentralization of responsibilities has led to considerable variation in subnational performance. In this chapter, we explore the determinants of subnational government performance by suggesting that governors’ education (codified knowledge) and experience (uncodified knowledge) explain education outputs and health outcomes. We test our propositions in two data sets derived from 32 Mexican states and 32 Colombian departments during 1995–2010 and 2004–2013, respectively. Based on their findings, we caution against generalizing results, because factors driving performance in Mexican states differ from those boosting performance in Colombian departments. Neither governors’ codified nor uncodified knowledge drives subnational performance in Colombia. However, governors’ uncodified knowledge (experience) does explain health outcomes in Mexican states. Moreover, although political factors (e.g., partisanship and party ideology) explain health performance in Mexican states, no political factor does so in the Colombian departments. In sum, what drives performance in one country may not have the same explanatory power in another country.

China has vigorously developed nuclear power in the past several years whereas the nuclear power expansion has met with considerable objections, principally due to low widespread public support. News media frames can influence public perception. We conducted content analysis of articles related to nuclear power in the People’s Daily from 2004 to 2013. Analysis results showed that articles in the newspaper mainly reflected pro-nuclear or balanced arguments whereas little anti-nuclear opinion was published. Pro-nuclear arguments most often presented environmental benefits and stakeholder support, and informational text primarily reflected nuclear power information, nuclear technology, and regulatory processes. The results of content analysis of the newspaper are highly consistent with the Chinese government’s pro-nuclear decision.
